"I ordered a funeral spray for a friend of mine. Her father passed away and it was an out of state funeral. When she returned home I asked if she had received the flowers and she hadn't, this was a week later. 1-800-Flowers never contacted me to tell me that there was a problem finding the funeral home. I paid 130.00 for the arrangement and they were just going to keep my money. I made them send an arrangement to her home and requested some sort of credit for the errors made and the offered me a 20 gift card, I then told them I would never ever use them again and the gave me a 50% credit to my credit card. To add to all of that the 5 customer service reps I spoke with couldn't speak English very well and told me that they could not understand me."
"Terrible service. My flowers for my son's gravesite which was a memorial sent every year since his death in 2007 did not arrive. The non-English speaking rep had trouble understanding the order. They called back the day before delivery saying they could not find an address. I corrected them and they still did not deliver them which I did not find out until I sent a friend to the cemetary (we are out of state). They charged me the full amount and worse said since I suffered such sorrow the were prepared to issue me a gift certificate! I could not have been more demoralized than I already was. As if a gift certificate makes up for my son not having flowers on his grave on the anniversary of his death. I told the rep he needed a course in sympathy and he simply repeated he would credit the account and thanks for the advice. Very rude. I wish I had read these reviews before I used them."
"Terrible service. I called to inquire about sending flowers (of course) the rep was very rude and sounded as if he had just woken up. I had questions about certain items and he did not know the prices. I decided not to order what I had initially inquired about and told the rep not to process the order and DID so several hours later! He basically ran my debit info and charged my account. Three hours later when I realized he had done this I called another rep to cancel the order, she was nice and said she would process the cancelation. However, I will never use 1-800-Flowers completely unethical!"
"Very disappointed. Not only did my Easter plant not get delivered on time, but the replacement plant that was going to be delivered a day late also did not get delivered. "
"So upsetting my mother-in-law had surgery, so we sent her flowers..called on Tuesday 4/3/12 to have delivered on Saturday 4/7/12..called her Saturday night she didnot recieve flowers..Called 1-800-flowers there is no tracking number..they called florist..they were closed..women on phone set up delivery for Monday 4/9/12 first delivery in morning, called this morning girl on phone(who by the way when asked where am I calling for customer service because the connection was bad.responded by saying in New York but i'm not a resident of the usa I am part Asian ???)(what the he@#.. wasn't asking that, just wanted to know where I was calling)she called florist who said flowers are on truck and can be delivered up to 7:00pm tonight.....called MIL to see if delivered...Well it's 1:00pm and yup you guessed it NO FLOWERS...Mother-in-law just called back and said please cancel flowers it not worth the aggravation..HOW EMBARRASSING....moral of story go to dependable florist yourself...that's what i'm doing now..."
"So upset - I was unable to attend a funeral so I decided to send flowers through 1800flowers. I get an email at the time they were suppose to be delivered, they do not know who the flowers should be from...I spend over $100 and the flowers were sent anonomously...Someone should have called me the day before or the morning of the delivery...how do you fix that? They give me a $20 Gift Cert to be used in the future...Are you kidding...thats CRAP"
"Total let down. Will NEVER use them again. Ordered for my Mom's 75th Birthday on 3-19-12 to be delivered on 3-22-12 her 75th Birthday. Received confirmation of order via email even received and email confirmation that the order was on the truck for delivery. At approx 1:45PM received a phone call that the local florist was rejecting the order too far to drive. Are you kidding me? Very bad customer service. Going to plan B."
"Paid an arm and a leg for some roses in a custom vase. The "custom" vase was a piece of paper inside a normal glass vase with a picture on it! Hardly the vase the picture showed. And then the dozen roses I order looked old and dying already! I couldn't believe it, Id rather get some flowers from a supermarket than this website!
Thanks for taking my money and delivering dead flowers! Highway robbery at its finest!"
"Why doesn't 1-800-Flowers allow you to review your purchase? Bought Lucky the Irish Puppy for a friend at work and he wasn't sitting up and looking alert as pictured, instead he seemed to be playing dead and doing it well. The recipient didn't even know what he was. Co-workers were arguing over whether Lucky was a bear, a possum, and even a rat. No one paid me any attention as I repeatedly stated, "He is a puppy!" The recipient was just standing there, taking it all in. Finally, it was agreed that Lucky was a bear! How unlucky was that! This is the second time being humiliated at work by 1-800-Flowers. They punish me for my thoughtfulness and make me pay for it, too. But NEVER AGAIN!!"
"Ordered flowers for my moms birthday the day before. (paid extra for short notice) Well her birthday came and went and didn't hear from my mom. Checked the status of the order and it said "order placed" and that was it. I called to see what was up and the guy said he was very sorry but the florest they used ran out of the flowers I had requested. Did anyone call to tell me this? NOPE! So I asked what they were going to do about it and they offered me a refund and a $20 gift card good for one year. This was after admitting that they didn't think I would want to use them again. I said that wouldn't work and they ended up refunding all of my money and sending different flowers to show up 3 days later along with an apology letter to my mom. We will see if this actually happens...."
"DO NOT ORDER flowers from here. My husband spent a small fortune ordering me flowers, and they were awful. I did everything I could to salvage them but ended up throwing them away after a few days, because they were too depressing.
I contacted their customer service department, and they assured me that they would remedy the situation with free flowers and a coupon. That was over a month ago and still nothing!"
"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. My mother lives about 12 miles from the closest town. I ordered the flowers online and the first issue the company did call me about... only after the flowers weren't delivered on Sat as promised. They said they'd deliver on Sunday, so I agreed to that. However, late on Sunday, I called them since the flowers hadn't arrived and they said that the florist selected didn't deliver on weekends, so I agreed to Monday and a higher delivery charge. They offered me a small refund for the trouble. They were instructed to have the florist call my mother on Monday to let her know when they would be there. No call, no flowers. So I waited until the following Sunday (today) just to see if anyone would call me or email me - nothing except a charge on my credit card. So I called them just now and learned that the florist wanted to make substitution so they hadn't delivered. No one bothered to call me to ask and it would have been fine. So I cancelled the order, requested a full refund and advised them I'd never use their service again."
"I ordered flowers from the "same day delivery" menu at 7:30am to be delivered to my home on March 1st. By mid afternoon, the online delivery status showed "delivered," but when they did not arrive by 7pm, I called customer service. I was given a 50% refund and the order was placed again for the 2nd.
At 5:30pm on the 2nd, the order showed having been delivered even though we had not received the arrangement. This time when I called customer service the rep placed me on hold to call the florist. According to the rep's conversation with the florist, the order had been put on the truck and marked "delivered" at that point. With two hours until end of the delivery time, I was hopeful. No flowers once again.
So, I called again that same evening and was told the order would be resubmitted for March 3rd. When I asked if I could contact the florist directly to clarify driving directions, I was told that they're not allowed to give out information regarding the florist.
After another day of anticipating a delivery and not having one, at 5pm on the 3rd I called yet again and was told that the florist wanted a confirmation of our address. No one from the florist or from 1-800-Flowers had called to verify my address despite having both a home and cell number in addition to the email address.
At this point, I canceled the order and received a full refund. The rep offered a $20 gift certificate towards a future purchase, but I declined it. Even though the customer service reps were very competent and made reasonable accomodations, the bottom line was that they're either working with a florist who wasn't being honest about the delivery or was unable to use a GPS or online site to find my home. Since we live in a mid-sized suburb just two turns off of a major thoroughfair, our address is easy to find. The florist did not make any attempt to contact us for driving directions, either."
"I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife for Valentines Day in 2012. When they arrived at her office they were the smallest roses I have ever seen and four of the twelve were already wilting. I complained to the website and called several times and they never resolved the issue. Very pathetic, I will never use them again."
"I had purchased a bouquet for my girlfriend last September and 1800Flowers failed to deliver them on the date I selected. They ended up giving me a $20 gift card to use after I sent them an angry email.
I was hesitant to use this company again, but I had the gift card so I figured I could give them a second chance. My girlfriend was having a terrible week and I thought some flowers might help cheer her up...so I placed an order. Boy was that a mistake! I got a call from customer service at 1pm on the delivery date. The florist was unable to make the bouquet I had selected, for some unknown reason, so I allowed them to make something else. However, I was then told they would not be delivered that day. Well...that wasn't going to work. My girlfriend was going out of town the next day. The customer service rep then offered to find another florist in the area that could fulfill my order, but none were available. Ultimately, I had to cancel my order and get a refund.
Not only did they ruin a surprise for my girlfriend, but they put me in a bad mood after placing me on hold for half an hour. I should have never given them a second chance. This company is terrible and I suggest using a different flower delivery service. "
