"Horrible experience - flowers were awful when they arrived - pretty much dead. Waste of money"
"The flowers are awful. Falling apart. Very short stems. They look half dead. I am extremely disappointed. My wife's comments were, "well, it's the thought that counts." I cannot believe that 800 flowers would sell such an terrible product. They should credit the charge for at least a 50% refund. This is a disgrace. "
"I just finished ordering a gift for my girlfriend today for Valentines day. This is the first time I've ever waited til the day before to order so I decided to look up some reviews to see how reliable 1800Flowers is on next day shipping. I gotta say after reading all these negative reviews I'm hard pressed not to be a little pessimistic about her not only NOT receiving my gift but receiving it a day late (Which would completely defeat the purpose of the gift). To say I've had a satisfying experience with 1800Flowers in the past is an understatement and people should realize that consumers/customers by nature are quicker to go online and write a review after having a negative experience rather than a positive one. Have a Happy Valentines day everyone. (I'll post an update tomorrow)"
"Ordered flowers to be delivered on Valentines Day, NOT the day before. Turns out they have either small print or default on the web page when you order, when you select a specific day, you are really selecting more than one day without knowing it, you are secretly saying you would PREFER valentines day, but would accept the day before WHEN YOUR WIFE ISN'T AT WORK TO RECEIVE THEM!!! So I noticed they have the slogan SATISFACTION GUARANTEED on their order page, should be fun finding out that is somehow not going to be true. AVOID AT ALL COSTS"
"Very unhappy. Product never delivered followed by terrible customer service.
I wish I'd seen these ratings first. Flowers were ordered 7 days ahead of time and were not delivered as of 2 days AFTER the day they were supposed to be. I asked for a call back 3 times and each time I received the same templated email suggesting it was my fault and that they'll send me more free of charge - as if I would ever consider paying for them to be re-sent? How stupid.
Then when a manager finally called they first told me there was no refund policy. As if that matters. Not writing a refund policy doesn't mean you don't need to do a refund. An agreed delivery time and product and an agreed dollar amount. I delivered, they didn't.
The shipping company as of today still shows in the order tracking as it not being delivered however they're still "investigating".
After telling me about how there was no refund policy she said she needed to talk to their refund department. What?! A department to deal with something you don't do?
Don't ever ever use 1-800-flowers."
"HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I received a bouquet of dead flowers for my anniversary. I spent the rest of it on the phone complaining to 1800 flowers. They were nice and said they were going to resend them... and they never did. It was horrible. It has been 4 months and they still never resent them, apologize, or even give us a discount. We ended spending 60 bucks on flowers that didn't even last a day! I will never use 1800 flowers again due to their poor service and quality, let alone them ruining our special day. My poor boyfriend felt so bad and even worse I took it out on him. Ugh. Don't use them"
"My boyfriend ordered me the large Elegant Wishes Bouquet for my birthday. I was suprised and excited to receive flowers at work. When I unwrapped the arrangement 1/2 the flowers were dead and/or wilted. The thing looked terrible. I googled what it was supposed to look like and it looked nothing like that....and my boyfriend spent $75 on a terrible looking bouquet of half dead flowers. Awful. This is seriously the worst looking floral arrangement I have ever seen."
"I attempted to order some sympathy arrangements for an out of state relative who passed away from 1-800-Flowers. I ordered before noon local time on Friday and was told it would be shipped the next day. Woke up the next morning at 9 AM from them saying that the local florist did not have the flowers needed to make the arrangements. I asked why it took almost 24 hours to find out, and they lied to me and said they called me on Friday. After fighting, they checked their log and apologized for lying and responded that they did not make contact. I guess e-mail was down too. They then placed me on hold to talk to the florist. They said they would place other similar flowers to make up for the price in place of what they failed to stock. Even though they do not monitor this excellent resource here, I am going to leave it one star regardless of how the flowers turned out. Bad customer service is a killer!"
"order flowers for mother's 90th birthday. ordered TUESDAY for friday delivery. They called friday to say it could not be delivered.....there is NO EXCUSE for this...it ruined the gift we were sending. They offered a replacement and next day but what good is that AFTER THIS IMPORTANT BIRTHDAY?????? WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!"
"I ordered candy and flowers from 1800flowers to be sent to my sister's office for her birthday. They claimed the items were delivered and they claimed they had a signature proving it. My sister went to all the neighboring offices to see if the items had been delivered to the wrong suite, but did not find them. Two days later she found them on the back doorstep of the office building. The person delivering had arrived after hours, even though I indicated the correct hours the items should be delivered, and when they found the office closed went around back and just left the stuff there. No note, no nothing on the front door, and to add insult to injury, the delivery person FORGED my sister's signature on the confirmation of delivery. When I contacted 1800flowers and informed them of the situation, they refused to make good on it. At least the ants got to enjoy the candy. 1800flowers will NEVER get business from anyone in our family again."
"Surprised to see all the bad reviews here. Maybe I've just been lucky. I often send flowers to my Mom and Gramma for the holidays and often use 1 800 Flowers. Always get a lot of compliments on the flowers and never any delivery problems."
"Ordered flowers for a visitation/funeral at a funeral home to be delivered on Saturday. Got a confirmation e-mail saying that satisfaction is guaranteed. Not only did the flowers NOT get delivered, but they didn't bother to let me know (via e-mail) until Monday."
"Thank you for choosing 1-800-flowers.com. A representative will be with you shortly.
You are now chatting with Alicia.
Alicia: Hello! How can I help you with your order today?
You: Yes I ordered flowers for my wife's birthday to be delivered to her work today. It's now 12:52pm and she has not got them. I know this because she texted me saying everyone forgot her birthday in the office. How is she supposed to enjoy these flower At work when she is leaving work in just a few hours...I am upset
Alicia: I'll be happy to help you with that!
Alicia: Our guaranteed delivery hours are between 9am-7pm. If the order is going to a business, the florist knows to deliver during business hours from 9am-5pm.
You: I need to know the status and what time they will be there. If they arrive when she is gone there is absolutly no point.
Alicia: For security purposes, can you please verify your name, the recipient's name and the delivery date on the order?
Alicia: One moment please while I find that information for you.
Alicia: May I ask what time your wife will be leaving work?
You: 4est
Alicia: I can request that your order be delivered before 4pm but I cannot guarantee it. Like I mentioned earlier If the order is going to a business, the florist knows to deliver during business hours from 9am-5pm.
You: WHAT
You: What is the point of your service?
You: THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I need to know what the status is at the florist. Let me guess they just now got the order?
Alicia: No sir, our guaranteed delivery hours are between 9am-7pm.
You: This is the second time out of 3 orders from your web site that I got the shaft... the first time the flowers arrived dead and wilted.
Alicia: I’m sorry about that.
Alicia: I did send the florist a message stating the time the recipient will leave work.
You: Okay, on ordering there is no statement asking "WHAT TIME does recipient work until" The whole office closes before 7pm then what?
You: She gets the flowers on the day after the occasion?
Alicia: If the order is going to a business, the florist knows to deliver during business hours from 9am-5pm.
You: I guess the answer here is that I should not rely on this type of service. Go ge the flowers myself and then take them to her personally. Otherwise I have to deal with this 75% of the time.
Alicia: If the order is going to a business, the florist knows to deliver during business hours from 9am-5pm.
You: *crickets*
Alicia: I sent a message to the florist letting him know the the recipient will be leaving work at 4pm .
You: Thanks for not answering any of my questions and using those pre-defined macro's, Have a nice day"
"I ordered flowers to be delivered 01/05 as my mother was having surgery and I wanted her to have something nice and cheerful at the hospital. Unfortunately, I chose 1800flowers.com and like many of the customers below, she never received the flowers. I called daily, and everyday they told me they would redeliver the next day and I would get 50% of my purchase back. They never delivered the flowers and I am currently waiting on my refund. As I like for people to actually RECEIVE flowers when I send them, I will NOT be using this company again, and I urge anyone who actually wants their flowers to be delivered to choose another company as well."
" Let me first start by saying, I have been a repeat customer for several years. The first 20+ arrangements I sent met or exceeded my expectations. But the last couple have been terrible. Let's start with time before last the birth of my sister's baby, I spent over 100 to get an arrangement that looked liked a 12 year old who picked flowers on her way home from school could have done a better job...I proceeded to call them and they gave me a $20 discount and I explained it is not about the money but about what terrible arrangment you sent. So they agreed to deliver a new arrangement the following day....long story short not much better. So, now we get to what will be my last arrangement ever ordered from them( I should have learned my lesson but decided to give them another try...since soo many times in the past things had been good and I thought maybe the past couple were just because of the florist they were using or the arrangements I was choosing). So my Mom has been very ill and was in ICU for several days....I wanted something to liven up her room as soon as she was in a normal hospital room. So, I called 1800flowers to try and get something delivered same day...but the bouquets they were describing did not sound good enough for my Mom. So, I went on line and settled for next day since there was a much wider variety available if I waited an extra day. So, I ordered a great arrangement and baloons, etc. the next evening I am at hospital and no flowers...so I call the representative( who could hardly understand me for some reason)...I got some lame excuse that the florist rejected the order and they had been trying all day to find another florist( I call BS, I am in Dallas, tx where there are several thousand florist)....but she assures me they will be delivered the next day.....hmmm, no flowers....so I call again. She explains there was a mistake and the order was not place( at this time they tell me take 50% off). Ok, so we agree to supervisor calling me in the morning after they talk to the florist with a delivery time because they were going to expedite it. At 2:30, I had no call...so I called them(now they tell me they will be free)...at this time my Mom was going to be released so we decided to have them delivered to her house in 2 days. I get an email in the morning that no one was available at that address by that name, so I call the 800.flowers and they say they gave them the wrong zip code....arrggg...but rest assured they will be delivered today 7 hours later I get an email they had been delivered and guess what there are no flowers....so I call again and explain no flowers. They explain there must be a glitch in the system...so they try and call the florist...no answer....but some how they assure me flowers will be here before 7.....are you kidding me... The florist isn't answering...it is after 5 local time and they have already told you multiple hours ago they delivered them...but you are going to assure me they will be delivered. Get a clue people, I am not calling you everyday b/c I want some flowers for free....it was about surprising my Mom and making a moment special and you have ruined that!!! If I wanted to be cheap or wanted a discount, I wouldn't be using you in the first place....it is out of sheer convenience....I knew you were over priced but in the past you had been consisten and at least good quality....now both are terrible. I am no longer hopeful that flowers will arrive...I am just hopeful they actually refund me so I do noy have to EVER call them again. I will be trying ftd tomorrow or a local florist...I will definately not be using 800-flowers and I suggest you do not either.. But, the good news in this all is my Mom is home!"
