Misleading Discounts

"Recently ordered 3 fixtures. Your homepage states to sign up and receive an additional 25% off order. In addition I screenshot the item and in the top corner of that item it states “25% Coupon”. I entered code at checkout and no message of being invalid appeared. It asked for payment type and I was taken to my PayPal account. Immediately it showed a completed purchase without reflecting the discount.

I immediately called and left a message with customer service as the order was placed on a Saturday. After 12pm PST Monday with no return call, I called customer service. My first attempt ended with me hanging up as I had been on hold 5 minutes will the agent “looked” at my account. My second attempt I was told I was speaking to the customer service supervisor and was told that there was no manager available to speak with and that I would get the same answer.

I was told due to the already discounted price, the 25% discount could not be applied. That as it is the company was only making about $10 in the item.

This item is on sale, not clearance. There was nothing that stated the code could not be applied to sale items on the homepage or throughout the signup process. And the item itself not only showed the savings with the sale price, but showed the 25% discount box on the item and the message stating that my member Offer was unlocked.

When making the decision to purchase, in addition to style, I factored the bottom line price both with discount and special promo code.

This is extremely misleading! The lack of customer service in a return call frustrating. To sit on hold and never returned to irritating. And to not be allowed the opportunity to speak to the manager upsetting.

This is the first time I have ordered from this company and with many other fixtures needed in our remodel, hoped to continue as a customer. Based on the misleading promos and lack of customer service, this will not be happening.

I was a store manager in retail for over 10 years so I don’t take lightly writing a negative review.

“We appreciate this feedback and we apologize for any frustration. Per our Coupon Policy, discounts and coupons will apply to the maximum discount level allowed. If something is already on sale - as in this situation, it's already been marked down. Adding an additional coupon to that will likely hit our maximum discount level and cap out. We try to make this clear when a coupon is applied to the cart by stating "Best Price Reached".

We're very sorry this caused frustration and friction for this customer. ”

Horrible

"I purchased a lamp online and they told me it was backordered. So I patiently waited a couple of months. Then when the time came they rudely told me that they do not ship to Puerto Rico. They could have told me from the beginning. Very upset and totally disrespectful "

“We are very sorry for the situation. Per our Shipping Policies, we do not ship to Puerto Rico. During checkout, Puerto Rico is not an option to select for a billing or shipping location. Sometimes, orders sneak through via PayPal that reflect "Other" as the shipping state. We try to catch these to correct them as quickly as possible, but in this situation, it was not caught until it was time to ship.

I'm sorry we let this customer down. We issued a full refund once we discovered the issue.”

Read the fine print

"We had no problem with the service received with respect to our order of 9 light fixtures. However, our remodeling project took longer than expected and when we tried to return two lights (that were in unopened boxes), we were told there was a 30 day time limit for returns. Since we didn't click on the return policy link in the order, we were unaware of the policy. Certainly we bear some responsibility but would have hoped a credit for store merchandise could have been issued (in place of a refund). 1stoplighting suggested we try reselling the lights on eBay or Amazon. Not 1strate customer service, in my opinion. "

Beautiful Light!

"I didn't realize the light 5925BN shipped unassembled however once finished it is stunning! I received one piece of broken glass that took two requests to have a replacement sent but Lanzo is the customer service rep to talk to!! I would look to 1STOPlighting again."

One of the Best companies I have been dealing with

"I'm fairly new with 1stoplighting , My experience so far has been excellent. Great pricing and incredible customer service. I've called a few time and service was helpful and professional.
I ordered approximately 30 recessed lights for an upstate project. One fixer came in with a broken bracket, I sent one email with a photo and the replacement fixture was sent within two days no questions asked. That's how a good company becomes great in my field.

defective lamp refunded

"I ordered a very expensive and beautiful floor lamp. I received a functioning but defective lamp (it is a manufacturer's defect not a transit defect). The merchant agreed upon seeing the photos that it was a defect and offered a replacement to be sent to me. Then, a day later, told me that they are not in stock anymore. They tried to accommodate me and offered a full refund or store credit. I appreciate that they honored their warranty policy and when they were not able to replace it (which would have been my solution of choice), they refunded me for it. "
