"Well built computer for a great price. Second computer I have bought from AVA. Got almost 4.5 years from first one. This computer was packed super nice and started right up out of the box. Would order another one again. Can barely buy the parts and assemble for what they charge for doing all the work."
"I wanted a solid laptop for software development with a good CPU, RAM, and SSD and I got it. All within a reasonable price and good quality. Also, no delays issues with the shipping. I should also mention that they have great customer service :)"
"I'll try to make this brief. I purchased a very expensive (>$7,000) PC from AVADirect. I was told after checking out that certain parts I had selected were out of stock and wouldn't be available for weeks (why could I select them then?). I agreed to swapping out the components I selected with comparable other ones. I assumed this would speed up delivery. It did not. Several weeks after my initial order, I called again, asking where it was.
I was told that my system had failed some of their readiness checks. Well, I was happy that they had caught issues, before sending them out, but not happy that I had not been notified of the delay. When I asked them why I hadn't been contacted about the delay, they had no explanation.
The system finally arrived, nicely packaged and really well put together. It looks great.
Unfortunately, it crashed immediately upon boot. I then spent the next two days reinstalling windows and trying to get things up and running before determining that the video card was bad (this is not their fault, though I question if the problems encountered during testing had ever actually been resolved...). I called support to let them know I had issues. I was told tech support was busy that day and would call me back later that afternoon. I never received that call.
The next day I simply called customer service (not tech support, who apparently are still very busy), having determined that the video card was indeed the issue (I installed my old machine's card and everything worked fine). I asked them if I could get a replacement card. I was told it would take several weeks to get the video card in stock. Since I saw at least 20 of that card available for next day delivery on Amazon, I decided I would ship the faulty card back and just get a refund.
After filling out the RMA documents and sending the card back, I got an email indicating they were preparing to ship my replacement (keep in mind the detailed RMA documents that required a signature clearly detailed the return was for a refund). I called to get this straightened out and customer service was entirely unable to resolve the issue, and said I would have to wait to talk to tech support the following day.
After speaking to them the next day, they cancelled the erroneous replacement order and said they would issue a refund. It has now been over a week and no refund has been issued, so I called again today. I was told that the refund had been held up in accounting, but they had no explanation as to why.
As you can see, AVADirect failed to provide even a "normal" level of customer support at nearly every step of my interaction with them. I think they make fine products, but the constant calling required was beyond acceptable.
I've used two other custom builders in the past and both interactions were far smoother than this one. I would not work with them again."
"Everything went well. Customized, Order, Called for a little help from their tech support on activating some hardware. "
"Bought a custom gaming PC from AVA just before Christmas and the experience has been nothing else than excellent. Their salesman Kyle Mizer was always going the extra mile to assist with my order. When there were a few bumps on the road (parts that I wanted went out of stock) he was keen to quickly offer alternatives and discounts to find a solution so the build time was not impacted as much. He's also quite funny and nothing else than a living pop-culture God.
I also asked for some extras like several SATA cables to make it easy to transfer my OC and my drives from my old machine and they did it without any extra charge.
When my build was ready to ship, their carrier did not show up on the day and Kyle was prompt to contact me to let me know the computer wasn't shipped on the planned day. To ensure I get it before Christmas, he took the initiative to have it shipped on an expedited Saturday delivery without any extra cost. I receive the machine and the first thing that struck me was how well this case was packaged. The tower was in a total of three boxes (case manufacturer box with polystyrene protection put in another brandless card box with extra inflated plastic protection which was put in another AVA branded card box with extra shock resistant foam and pro bubblewrap). When I finally put my hands on the case, I noticed they also put some protection foam inside it to ensure none of the components could be damaged while in transit.
I opened the case and the cable management was absolutely flawless. I easily moved my drives from my old PC to the AVA build thanks to the extra cables they added and even if I didn't purchase a Windows OC (since I already have a license) they pre-installed a windows NT light which made it real smooth to transfer my OC and I didn't have to reinstall any driver.
I ordered an extreme overclocking of my CPU (20% or more) and after testing the machine on a few games and tests, I seriously cannot fault it. The performances are up to the roof, they overclocked my CPU at 5Ghz, temps are still pretty low and everything is really stable. Wicked awesome job here!
This build is doing everything I expected it to do, it's fast, it's beautiful, it's powerful, it's reliable, it simply exceeds my expectations and they were pretty high. I really recommend AVA Direct if you want to get your hands on a high-end custom gaming PC without the hassle of buying the components and build it yourself. Their prices are very reasonable and the service is top notch. I cannot recommend them more.
PS: If this review was not enough to convince you and you want to know who you'll get in business with, they host an online show every Friday afternoon either on their Facebook page or on Twitch. Go and watch it for yourself, they speak about IT and gaming news and you'll soon realize they are often spot on, they know their business and they are blatantly honest about it. And Joe Mundy will surely crack you up."
"This was my third custom PC, the first two from other custom builders. I've also purchased pre-configured systems from big-name vendors.
I'd found that the big names have good customer service and build quality, but the custom builders naturally provide a better choice of components. Some custom builders use no-name components in their base configurations, lowering the price but compromising quality. Others offer only brand name components, but with reduced flexibility and very high prices.
With AVADirect I found the best of all worlds. My PC was built to my exact specifications with excellent build quality at a very reasonable price. Their component catalog is the best I've seen, with no "house" or no-name brands, and their website provides detailed information about each component. Their systems are free of unwanted software, can be purchased without an operating system, and are thoroughly tested prior to shipping.
Best of all was AVADirect's customer support. I had questions before and after my PC was shipped, and all were answered the following business day. The company's support people were friendly and helpful, and this, more than anything else, is why I'll definitely go with AVADirect in the future."
" I purchased a custom computer from AVA Direct about 8 years ago and just bought a new one in Nov 2018. When it comes time to buy a 3rd one it will be from AVA Direct.
The packaging on my most recent purchased was very impressive. It was double boxed with significant padding between the two boxes. Inside of the computer had foam padding as well to prevent things from coming loose!
They are also very careful with verifying you credit card info and shipping address. "
"I researched a number of PC builders and almost all had just a few selections for each part. AVADirect had a ridiculous selection for each part! For example, while their site would at first show just the top five selections for RAM to make it simple for people who want it simple, a single click would reveal 180 (!) possible choices! Basically, whatever you want they will build it! And their site is excellent at detecting conflicts to stop you from making configuration errors. In the end, the final build quality was excellent and I had nothing to complain about! Definitely give them consideration when you need a new PC."
"Edited: AvaDirect has made it right with me and refunded me my purchase. Special thank you to Kyle Mizer that handled the whole process throughout to make things right with a customer. He's the prime example of how customer service should be. Not the first person that handled my case from the beginning. Which led to my bad review. They're also refunding me the money I spent for the shipping. Suppose to send it tomorrow 09/06/18 so I will be waiting for the refund check.
I purchased a monitor from AVADIRECT through Affirm. It was defective. So I contacted customer service and find out what can be done. They gave me instructions on how to ship and return it. I followed them but once they receive it. They told me the cables were missing and I’m 5 days late. They failed to inform me the weekend count. But how does it count if they themselves aren’t even open? I had UPS packaged my monitor and I paid out of pocket for it. AVADirect took out my cables and claiming I never ship. Just so they don’t have to do a refund. Bunch of scam artists. And their customer service is horrible! If I can give a zero star I would!"
"I ordered a custom computer from AVA. The price was unmatchable by a large margin. Packaging was great. Worksmanship was great. "
"Good advice in selecting custom components, good technical support when problems came up."
"AVA does just about everything correctly. This is the 4th desktop system I have bought from them. High quality builds, no shortcuts."
"I ordered my gaming PC and other than some wait time for the graphics card (to be expected) it was ready extremely fast. I was able to drive to their location, as I am nearby, and pick up my PC with no hassle and have been nothing but satisfied every since. I actually ended up saving money by having them build for me rather than purchase the GPU at inflated prices. I have recommended AVADirect to several friends.

"Having built my own computers for the last 15 years the last being built in 2013 I looked again at gathering parts needed. I always compare me buying parts and having another build up for me. I checked all the usual "built for you " sites but then I discovered AVADirect. I compared the price of parts vs. their system and found that AVA could do it for me for less. Now I will say that because of both Video card prices and Memory prices being what they were AVA I think because they are wholesale was able to get price of both lower than I could. Anyway I decided to try AVA and see how it would do plus it saves me some time and effort since I was going to do a no HDD solid state system. AVA came through perfectly. When the system arrived I unpacked started system up worked through a few startups and bam up and running. System has performed great ever since. So if your looking to have a system built I would recommend AVADirect both for what parts they offer and their building skills. Their technical people and service people can answer many of your questions."
"This is my 2nd system build. Each time a great experience.
The communication Before, during and after is outstanding.
Both builds the Build Quality I rate them a "A ++++++"
I am looking into another Build today. "
"I ordered two identical desktops from AVA for home use. They are for general computing and gaming. Being a tech-savvy guy, I could have easily built my own - and have done before - but this time I wanted to just buy some. I did some research and cost comparisons - AVA were right in the middle price wise, but I kept coming back to their website due to the way you build up what you want from named components, and if you chose something that won't work with other components you have chosen, they tell you right then and there. It was an awesome, fun experience from beginning to end. The units were delivered when they said they would be. I exchanged emails with their tech crew during the build as I wanted something specific and they helped me at every turn. I have nothing but high praise for AVA. All things being equal, if computing is still largely the same in the future I'll be back for more!"
