"First the good. I found the piece of furniture I was looking for on AFA Stores website. Price was the best by far I had seen and they showed the piece had a 14 day backlog. I decided I was willing to wait and placed the order on 12/15. I received an email on 12/18 stating the order was due to ship in 5-7 biz days. Here is where everything goes south . My CC was charged the full amount that day. The order was picked up by the shipper on 12/30. Then it sat for 2 weeks and was moved to the delivery terminal on 1/12. In the meantime on 1/7 my AmEx statement arrived and I was expected to pay for the piece I still do not have in full. I filed a dispute with AmEx for the charge and had it removed from my bill. On 1/15 I got a msg it was to be delivered today 1/18. Which it was and everything is fine. I have copies of all emails exchanged with AFA along with screenshot of Tracking history and would be happy to upload for the benefit of any doubters. Good price, merchandise as advertised, premature CC charge & sh***y service.

"After struggling like others to get any information about my order and having to reach out to customer service at AFA and the trucking company repeatedly I finally got my order. How is it you ask? No idea because they refused to bring my expensive 185lb piece of furniture in my house so it is sitting in my unheated garage in the middle of winter in the Northeast. AFA says I should check it at time of delivery for damage. Delivery people said they are not allowed to touch it so I guess as a small, older woman I was supposed to uncrate the 185 piece of furniture myself? The drivers then offered to bring it in the house if I gave them $40 cash. I will warn everyone I know about AFA. "

"We had an absolute nightmare experience dealing with AFA stores. They delivered a damaged cabinet with sharp broken glass all over and wooden spikes. They promised to pick it up for the month and then refused. HORRIBLE!!!"
"I ordered a couch and was told that it would ship in 2-3 weeks and delivery could take an additional 2-3 weeks d/t COVID-19 delays. After receiving emails each month postponing my delivery, the delivery was eventually delayed to 7 months. When I received the order, the correct white chaise lounge was delivered, but the main couch was a dark gray. The wrong couch was left in my house by the delivery company. AFA attempted to blame the mistake on COVID-19. There is a lack of ownership of any wrong doing and when I pointed this out I was told I was upset, but "they understand." Their solution to this was that they were "working on it", but could not offer a timeline or specify what they were doing to remedy the situation other than say they were making a phone call and waiting. During one follow-up call they misinformed me that they had the correct piece in their warehouse and to call Monday to schedule the delivery. Monday I called and found out that they did not have the correct piece. This back and forth has now gone on for another month, so we are now at 8 months with my living room acting as a storage facility for a mismatched couch, AFA is still incompetent and does not have answers, they provide flippant responses and actually had the nerve to tell me when I asked for a 10% discount (as others have in their negative reviews posted here) that it would hurt their bottom dollar, but would do it. I had to follow up 2 weeks later to make sure they issued the discount because they did not do so after they had promised to.
I think I’ve been pretty accommodating, and was met with rudeness. If you value respectful service, receiving the correct item that you purchased with your hard earned money, and not having your house be used as an AFA storage facility, I would strongly recommend using another company. The incompetence and delays do not compensate for the $50 you may save by using this nightmare of a company.
UPDATE : I just saw they are offering a veteran's day sale for 30%. As an OEF vet, I am warning other vets do not get taken by this company. Do not order from here. "

"My purchase went very smoothly. The only problem we had was the hardware in one of the boxes was not packed good and we had screws and washers all over the place. The color looks a bit different to the color of the bed when viewing online, this could be possible due to light or the resolution quality of my screen. Anyway, I love the bed, was quite surprised at the large size of the drawers and I would definately buy from AFA Stores again."
