"I ordered a new Olympus camera and a lens from this site on 8/9/11 for a total of about $2,450. I figured I was saving about $150 off the pricing compared to other sites. The next day I got a call from one of their sales people checking to verify I actually ordered the merchandise. So far, no problem.

During the conversation he starts trying to sell me at least 10 different accessories all of which I said "no" to. That was annoying.

But here comes the kicker...then he asks me if I want to buy a warranty for $170 for the products because they are "Gray Market Imports". That got my attention and red flags are going up at this point so I asked him what that means. He explained that they are Olympus products imported from another country (he didn't say what country) and therefore do not come with the Olympus USA manufacturer's warranty. No where on their site did I see anything informing the buyer that the price is for "Gray Market Import" products only. If I'd known that I wouldn't be typing this review because I would have purchased elsewhere in the first place.

When I balked at that he offered up that they do sell Olympus USA products but at a higher price (and said they don't advertise them on their website) which ended up price wise, being pretty much what all the other photo sites are charging so I said fine, I want the USA Olympus products that do have a manufacturer's warranty.

Mind you the price went up from about 2,450 to 2,578 by my calculation for the "upgrade". So the guy then tells me there's now a 6% Handling and insurance fee applicable. Really? On my original order there was no such thing listed as a billable cost. Suddenly there's a 6% charge? So next he tells me the new total price will be just over $2,700!!

By now I'm feeling totally messed with so I told the guy to just cancel my order and I'll go elsewhere. He did cancel it.

I do almost all my shopping online and I can honestly say this is truly the first really bad experience I've had with an online retailer.

Never again will I buy anything from them. If it sounds too good to be true...that's your sign to go elsewhere. Very shady website and sales practices in my opinion.

The good news is I did go elsewhere and ordered my USA Olympus products for about $2,600 but it's money well spent to know I'm getting a legitimate product and not some knock off import that comes with no warranty.
