"Overall, not a bad experience ordering over the phone(HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE---KEEP READING TO THE END). I decided to order over the phone so that I could get the "phone call" part over with(many customers have said they get an email asking to call in and in turn are upsold items before the order is shipped). I put an order in for a Nikon D800, and was explained the difference between what I initially ordered and what would be a better option(grey market vs USA version). I went with the USA version, and then was offered a longer battery(was initially told it was a 1900mha battery, and that it only lasted 1.5 hours....nikon does not rate their battery per hour, rather with shots. Also I did not find anywhere on the web, and trust me I looked everywhere online, all 4 search engines, and did not find extended life batteries). I went ahead and agreed to buy the "5 hour" battery for an extra 44.95(i know stupid me). I was told the item was in stock, multiple times, but then was told it would take up to 21 days for it to arrive at my house because of high demand. I didn't get it either. They explained they mail through USPS, and then it gets transferred to UPS in the middle of the transit(i'm guessing it saves them money that way). In the end I was charged almost 3300 for the body(d800), 5 year warranty(originally was 3 but upgraded to 5) and an "extended" battery(they said it was a nikon brand battery, not off brand, but we shall see). The amount started at 2899 and then $169 for warranty and 44.99 for battery, 3117.99 plus 6%(handling and shipping and insurance)for a grand total of 3299. Unfortunately I did not catch them charging me shipping and handling for the warranty. They added the warranty and battery and then added the 6% on top. Sneaky of them. Who pays shipping for a warranty? If they had done it correctly the grand total would have been "3289.99" I know only 10 dollars, but imagine how many sales they have, times that by 10 dollars, and that is extra money in the companies pocket. Compared to other companies, their camera costs 2,999(free shipping), but their warranties are $314(3yr) and $629(5yr), and you are not told when you will be getting the camera, since there is a waiting list. But I heard it was about the same as AJrichies(21-30 days), which makes you wonder, do they really have it in stock? Yes I saved on the warranty, but I have yet to see how reputable the warranty company is. Overall, not a bad expierence, just not so great. I myself wouldn't shop here again(their lenses are overpriced, and other accessories, not to mention nikon brand "extended" batteries might not even exist(I have yet to discover this). I have tried to make this review as honest as possible, and I even told them I would be writing a review after I finished the order, so this is as good as it gets. It is now September 13th as I am writing this review. Once I get my product I will update this review with further details.
Update: 9-14-2012
Received an email with the tracking order #. On 9-13-2012 called AJrichies, and was told the camera ships directly from Nikon. On September 13 I spoke to a customer rep and asked what the status of the order was. I was informed it was shipped, not from their warehouse, but from the manufacturer. Also I was informed the 2899 was a retail package and contained a shorter life battery so in exchange, the 44.95 I paid was for the actual battery. So instead of selling the whole package, like everyone else does right away, for 2,999, they(ajrichies) tell you that you need a battery upgrade and in turn you pay 2943. Yes you do save around 50 dollars compared to other stores, so that is a plus. The camera actually does not have a weaker battery. Its all 1900mah, or 900 shots. If you look at their(ajrichie.com) site, they have a lituim ion replacement battery, a extended long life battery, and an extended ultra long life battery. To my knowledgeand every other photogragher out there, there is only one type of battery for the d800. If I am wrong, after all my research, please correct me. There is only 1 version for sale for the nikon battery.
When I receive the camera I will update whether it really was an USA version that I received or not. Also I will see if the battery really is a Nikon brand or some rip off brand. Batteries are a little bit easier to tell. There are 2 ways to tell if your camera is USA version or not: one of them is the serial # starts with a 3.
Update #2
9-17-2012: I checked the tracking status of my order and it shows return to sender. I have not been notified by AJrichies about this, and do not know why. The shipping company has notified me, that the sender is Digital Trading LLC(have no clue who they are), and no number to get back to. I tried to contact AJrichies, but they are not open, it is 9:47am, and they open at 9am(just noticed that they are closed today and the 18th in observation of Rosh Hossana). Seriously this is dissapointing, and as soon as I updated my order #, this happens. They better have a good excuse. No company has ever done this to me, and this is poor business practice. I know AJrichies.com has read my review, so if they are reading it now, they better make me happy, or else this will not be the last review I write.
Update #3
Sept 20 2012
I called Ajrichies.com on Wednesday the 19th in reference to the shipment, and why it was intercepted. They explained to me the wrong item had been shipped out(grey market) and since I wanted the USA version, they were going to send me a new one. I called again later on to find out when the new package was going to be shipped from the warehouse. The first call got me transferred to a voicemail. The second call had an immediate discconnect. The third call I was accused of recording the conversation, and they immediately hung up. I was using a voip service to call them, but I was not recording our conversation(even though maybe I should have). The next phone call left me bewildered, but yet relieved. When I finnaly got through, I was told the order was canceled and a full refund was going to be posted the next day. When asked why this was happening they replied it was because I was recording the conversation. The next day(20th) I called at approx 10:45am and inquired when my money was going to be refunded. I explained if I didn't receive the refund, then I would go through my bank and submit a claim, and start an investigation. They replied I would get my refund, and that was the end of that conversation. I called one more time to confirm that my money would be refunded. To my surprise, they told me that they would not, since I had said I was going to submit a claim against the charge, and that from now on, I was to go through the credit card company and retreive my money through that route. The next 10 phone calls either were sending me to voicemail, or immediately hanging up on me the moment I gave them my order number.
DO NOT AND I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. THEY ARE NOT AN AUTHORIZED RETAILER/RESELLER of CANON OR NIKON PRODUCTS.
IF I COULD GIVE THEM NO STARS, THAT IS WHAT I WOULD GIVE THEM.
AJRICHIES.COM HAS $3299.99 of my money, and is refusing to refund it. Not only is that a huge hunk out of my pocket, but now that i dont have a camera, so my business is suffering. So to summarize all this, I have been robbed of $3299.99 and do not have a camera to show to it. NO CAMERA AND NO MONEY.

I realized I have not updated anything about my resolution. I had filed a fraud complaint with the FTC and with my banking institution and got no calls back from AJrichies.com. Luckily everything went well for me. The bank found in my favor and refunded me the money, so hopefully AJrichies learned their lesson. I haven't really heard anything from the FTC. If anyone else is being scammed, I highly recommend filing a fraud notice with your bank, the FTC, and any other government entity. If you need any assistance, I will be reviewing the comments on this site and replying to you as soon as I can."
"They are complete cheats they advertise 30 day easy return policy. It does not exist. I ordered on line they then phoned 12 days later and offered other things. I said if they had a 30 day return policy I would look at a battery and memory card but I did not think I really needed them. I was at work when they called (no computer or calculator) They added $180 to my bill and sent it as a package instead of individualizing them. So no returning the battery and card (value $ 50) they charged me $180 for. I notified them that I wanted to return the items the day they arrived, and asked for a return authorization They drug they heels until I had used the camera (I left the battery and card sealed) They then wrote back and said it was a package and since I had used the camera nothing was returnable. I have to presume from my experience and dozens of others I see on other scam review sites, that the happy customers in this site are plants and not ligament I do not know that but the only place I have seen a happy customer is on this site, I hope I am wrong. Mine is a very straight forward case of agreeing to look at their extras under the understanding I could return them. I even left them sealed. I also questioned his math and said I would check it when the product arrived as I was at work and could not at that time. To get around this they just called it a package price. A complete deliberate fraud. I presumed I had just got a overzealous salesman at first but the company will not even respond to my communications. So I have learned this is their policy, or standard way of doing business.
They also changed the invoice number from the original order #:1184786 price $449.99 on Aug 2 /12 to a bogus order # 91372654 for $639.88 on Aug 13 /12"
"Very happy with customer service. I was told my camera would be here by Friday, so very pleased with ordering from this company."
"Ajrichies is an upsale scam site. They offer the lowest opening prices on the net to lure you in and then hock their over priced warranties, accessories and other items to you. After you place your online order you'll get a call/email saying they need to talk to you. They'll give you a pitch nothing short of a timeshare free weekend pitch and if you don't buy anything you'll never get what you ordered.
Do a search on Google and you'll find many many stories like this. I tried hoping to get lucky but here I am, 3 weeks after my order and nothing. I email asking for an update but all I get in return is I have to call in (for more high pressure sales I'm sure). "
"I wanted to buy a Nikon D3200 to replace my Nikon D3100 because of the increase in resolution. I did an internet search and found AJRichies to have the best price by about Seventy Dollars. Being in too much of a hurry, I ordered the camera body without much other research...
Later, I did do the research to find that most people felt that AJRichies was running some kind of scam..so I called to see where my order was, and what the status was. I was told I would be contacted to verify my information...Oh boy...here we go....and I was emailed and asked to call, and my shipping and billing, and credit card information verified. I was also offered an upgraded battery, in that the one the camera shipped with was not a "full life" battery, but I could buy either a regular or extended life battery. I declined to buy either...and was not pressured or anything... I watched my order status a few more days, and it said "order ready to ship", so I called again, and was told it would ship in the next 1 or 2 business days. On the second day I did receive a notification with shipping number and a UPS link. The camera body is out for delivery today..I ordered the camera body on the 26th and this is the 7th, so 12 days.........a little slow, but we shall see what I receive....
Well, I just went to the office and retrieved the camera body..It was ( had been)part of the combo deal with the 18-55 mm lens removed....but the box did contain the battery charger (MH-24), and the EN-EL 14 battery...and the camera strap and it was $519.99 as stated on the website. (although the price did drop to %499.99 after I ordered the camera body). The box also included the Owner's Manual, CD, and Warranty Card, so I'm pretty happy about that..I don't think the camera body is a "grey market" product at this time..
So, all in all, I am happy so far. It looks like I am one of the lucky people who received what they ordered and was charged the correct amount. It is a little shady that the camera body came from a combo pack...but I can live with that Overall, I'd give them 3 or 4 stars but your mileage may vary. I'm just saying my experience was not all that bad..."
"I ORDERED THE NIKON P510 FROM YOUR COMMPANY TODAY AND A GENTLEMEN, MARK, HELPED ME. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL WITH MY PURCHASE AND GAVE ME GOOD ADVICE (I HOPE).
LORETTA DAY"
"My experience with AJrichies was a positive one! I got a great price on my camera and got some extra promo deals on top of it. I would highly recommend them. It was a smooth transaction. I can't wait to get my camera!"
"The company has an excellent reputation and web site. The prices are good. Best, the representative on the telephone was outstanding
Bob Culverwell

"I ordered a lens from this company back in July, and was told to expect it to arrive in about 2 weeks. I waited almost a month, and then called the company every few weeks to check the status - I was always told it would be another 2 weeks, that the lens was back-ordered from Canon. After waiting for TWO months, I finally called Canon today and learned that a) the lens I ordered is in stock and has been all of this time, and b) AJRichies is NOT an authorized dealer of Canon lenses. I am disappointed in being misled numerous times by the sales/customer service reps over the phone, usually after being put on hold for a very long time. I have cancelled my order and will NEVER order from this company again."
"Fast and easy plus best price.
Applies to ordering process only!
Delivery is another story. Chose free UPS Ground shipping (7-10 business days). After 11 business days received extra battery and charger but no camera.) Shipment included a sheet saying camera was "shipped from different location" but no info on shipping or estimated delivery date. Going on three weeks now and I still have no idea whether the camera has even shipped.
Update:
Camera received on 9/20/2012. Curiously, accessories (value ~$80) required signature for delivery; camera (value ~$350) was just dropped off at the door. Go figure.
Bottom line: Timeline for delivery was just outside the maximum estimate but still acceptable. Communication regarding delivery was substandard. Purchase price, item quality, and ease of ordering were excellent. 4/5 stars.
"
"Very helpful salespeople. Great prices."
"Very good experience. I was offered appropriate accessory options in an informative, professional manner, and did not feel pressured. "
"I ordered a camera over a week ago. The internet says it usually ships in 1-2 days. As I said I placed the order over a week ago and I called customer service twice. The last time I talked with them I told them I had better recieve an e-mail telling me that my product was shipped. They sent the e-mail allright, however there is no evidence of anything being shipped. I.E. a tracking number. This company should not be allowed to sell on the internet. At this point, I am thinking they want their costomers to buy high priced items and pay for high priced shipping. I do not think that is a hallmark of a reputable company. If you are like me, you want what you are promised. We'll see.
Update: 9-5-1012 Spoke with sales this morning.. Could not help me. Callback after 11am. Called back around noon, spoke with customer service. They said it should have been shipped, but would have to check with the warehouse for the tracking number. Got a call back from customer service, item did not ship yet. Wanted me to take this blog down and in return would expedite the shipping and throW in a camera case. No Deal. I wanted them to live up to what they say on the internet. They feel they are within the guidelines. Not acceptable. Talked to a manager. He said they are within the guidlines and would ship the item with 2-3 weeks delivery. Cancelled the order. PLEASE NOT TRUST THIS WEBSITE. "
"Ajrichies offered the best price and helped insure I would be able to use my purchase to the fullest extent upon receipt."
"There was a problem with my shipping address and Eric promptly gave me a call and worked everything out in an expediously manner. I found him to be very professional and helpful with my questions about the camera I was purchasing. He was very familiar with additional components that I needed to get the best use from my new camera and I appreciated his help. "
