"We just received our camera, and I can't be more pleased.
Initially, there was a problem with my credit card, as I had ordered the camera for my daughter and used her name, but the card is in my name so my bank declined it as "suspicious activitiy". Well, I got a call from AJRichies telling me my card had not gone through. I was so surprised, and the gentleman who called, suggested I call the bank and see what the problem is. He also gave me some additional information for them to confirm the company. Come to find out, the bank was just being careful because I rarely make mail order purchases. Now that this purchase has gone so smoothly, I will definitely order from AJR again, and I have already told friends about the selection and service they give you. My confirmation call, which I expected, went better than I thought. I knew I needed a battery and had planned on purchasing a memory card. The gentleman who called, upgraded me to a starter pack which included both of these items.... plus 3 other items at no extra charge. How great is that??!! I can't say enough about this company and the employees. I will definitely make my next elec. purchase through them. Thanks so very much!!!!

"-May 30, 2012: I've purchase a canon camcorder on May 22 payout $409 and have not received any confirmation as of May 30. I've sent them an email on May 29 inquiry on order and have not received reply. There is no shipping tracking information so it is hard to know if your item has been ship or not. When called, the person answer was not polite. Do not recommend Ajrichies.com to anyone.

-update: May 31, 2012. Since posting this note at resellerRatings, Ajrichies.com contacted me about my unpleasant experience. Spoke to a David and he explained to me the Ajrichies delivery process order is sent to a ware house in the East or West coast (depend on product). It takes 2-3 days for the ware house to receive your order. The ware house is then packaged and shipped your order. This normally takes about 3-7 business days from starts and out your order is shipped. Once your order is shipped from the warehouse, the shipping tracking information is sent to Ajrichies.com where they send you an email on tracking number. I’ve received my shipping tracking information today and it is schedule to be delivery on June 5 from UPS.

So far, I am very pleased with Ajrickie.com action to help resolve customer issues. Will let you know update next week on my order status.

"TERRIBLE STORE!!! Go somewhere else!!!
I saw that they had the Nikon D700 online and it was in stock, so I call customer service/sales (it’s the same guy) and ask if they have it in stock so I can purchase it. they said they have it in stock so I tell the guy if he can hold so I can get my credit card information and he says yes, and when I come back with my info, he hung up on me. So I think to myself, let me just order it online…. Well big mistake!! I order it online and create an account and so forth then I get an email from the sales department stating that I need to call to expedite it. So I call customer service and I give them my order number and I ask again if they have the camera in stock and of course he says they do.. He then proceeds to try and sell me all kinds of things for my camera… a lens, batteries, warranty… you name it, this guy is selling it… I decline them all because I have bought them all elsewhere and I’m just missing the camera!! So then he asks me if I want to expedite the order to which I say of course! He bids adieu and we hang up… 2 business days and the weekend pass and I call in on a Tuesday to ask about the order due that it showed as processing… I call and the same guys tells me it’s backordered!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost lost it!!! What do you mean??? I called to check, then I expedited the order, and now… whatever!!
I have never rated anybody this bad, but I lost it with these people… terrible store… terrible customer service… I DO NOT recommend it to no one!!

"The price for the camera with two lenses was the best advertised price. I was then convinced to purchase another charger (better/faster), and another battery (better/faster) and a memory card (also better than others advertised elsewhere. I appreciate the low price for the camera and lenses, however the extras were not at an advantageous price. The sales people pressure the customer into making further purchases and state that the order/camera will be different if that is the only thing you are ordering. bottom line, package prices are great but beware of extras and salespeople put a lot of pressure on customer."

"I am amending the review below.

Once this review was posted I received an email from David in customer service at AJrichies. He has resolved my issues and was very helpful in selecting another product that is in stock.



I ordered a camera 2 months ago. My experience is unfortunately like so many others I have read:

1) place order on line
2) receive email saying they can't ship the order until I call them.
3) I call and they tell me the camera I ordered is a Japanese model with all the buttons and controls in Japanese, will have no warranty, and no battery life. I ask why it doesn't say that on the website and then get some bogus explanation that I should have known as there are 2 cameras listed, one American and one Japanese. This is NOT the case. Scam.
4) Then I am told I can change the order to the American version of the camera. I do as it is still a lower price than I have found on other web sites. I ask, to double check, that the camera is brand new and NOT a refurbished model. I am told it will be in brand new, out of the box condition, just like I would get at an electronics store. Stupid me for believing them.
5) I get the the camera. It is a refurbished model in an unmarked box. I call them to complain, and I am told that is impossible as they do not sell refurbished merchandise. I ask why the camera came in an unmarked box, has scratches all over the bottom of it and the battery is generic. They say the camera must just ship like that. I say that is not possible as I have had this very camera before and it comes in a normal Panasonic box and everything is factory sealed. They still try to fight me and then I tell them that the warranty inside the box SAYS it is a refurbished product. Then I get the "hold please". Then the guy comes back and says oops...I guess they shipped you a refurbished product. He says they had to use a different vendor and that vendor screwed up, not them.
6) They say they will exchange the camera for a new one. I send the camera back. They now say the camera is on back order.If I don't get it by next week I am cancelling my order and will notify American Express of what happened to make sure it gets credited back to my account.

I will NEVER shop there again. Don't get scammed. Given all the similar reviews I have read this is who they are. I can't believe they are still in business. They were planning on me just accepting the refurbished camera for the new camera price. Well I didn't. I sent it back and I have doubts they even have a new one ordered. They would rather I just cancel my order.

Don't be fooled. This company is horrible and should be shut down.

"Check the NYC BBB rating on these guys. It's an F. You have to be pretty bad to get an F. Based on my direct experience and others I've read about on-line, here's their MO:
1. Good price, so you order the product.
2. About a day later, you get an email. They cannot (will not)
process the order until you call them.
3. Here comes the high pressure sales pitch to purchase their
grossly overpriced accessories (memory, batteries, etc.).
4. If you don't buy these items, your order goes into indefinite
back-order limbo.
5. When you call for status, it's perpetually "ships in 3-4
weeks".
6. At this point, when you complain, they actually encourage you
to cancel the order.

Hard to believe the NYC DA has not done something yet about this scam. Steer clear of these guys.

"I ordered a camera from them. They state that they usually ship in "2-3 days." Have heard nothing from them except for the order received confirmation immediately sent after the on-line transaction. Tried to ask what the status of this purchase was by their telephone number ... no one answers ... perpetual hold. Sent an inquiry as to status of order to their email link. Received response to call their customer service phone ... which no one answers!!! Totally in the dark on this company ... have not been successful in contacting them and they definitely are not concerned with customer service ... would never buy anything from them again. They appear to be uncontactable!!"

"This merchant is ir-responsive and its staff super-unfriendly. After placing my order, I received a confirmation that says the order confirmation was not a final offer or contract and all orders are subject to management review and approval. Then the review took forever, and I heard nothing for a week. I called twice in-between and the customer service first said that processing would take 1-3 days, and the second time it said that it took 10-14 days. The customer service simply showed that he did not care at all and welcome me to cancel my order. Of course I did. Don't do business with this merchant."

"I am very happy with the order I placed at AJRichies. I received the product I ordered. I did have a problem with a few optional pieces that I ordered but I spoke with a manager about the problem and he told me that he would upgrade my optional components to a far superior product and really took care of me. I highly recommend this company to anyone. They had a problem and they more than took care of it."
