"I ordered a 500 watt power supply for my XP 2000 on Friday Early, I paid the extra $3.00 to rush my order. I was at first disapointed that it didn't ship on Friday, so I wouldn't recommend you pay the Rush fee, didn't work for me. They did ship on Monday, and I got it on Wed, so that was nice. I called them on Monday to ask about it, Cust Service Line was a Voice mail, so I call the sales line. They answered and told me it would most likly ship Today(monday) and it did, they e-mailed me and told me that it was on the way and it was. Very Quick to get here and I'm very happy with the Product."

"I had a very good experience when ordering from this company...They offered a short lived Promotional sale of a pre windowed case with 400wtt power supply in april for $4 / $13.27 for shipping.
I ordered this not expecting much!
I got the case in a short period of time and in perfect condition. It was actually a very good case. For $4 I did not expect anything but bare case and a generic power supply that would probably have to be replaced.
It came with all extra hardware including 4 nice thumbscrews, bag of case and drive screws, decent plastic motherboard mounts and standoffs, power chord, and a cool little case speaker. It had a Spiderman cutout for the window with mounting holes for fan, front USB and speaker/Mic port, and an acrylic, led lit insert at the front. Although made of thin steel, the edges were rolled and I had no spots that were sharp inside the case.
The Power supply was actually a 500wtt generic brand, but it has been powering an ECS K7S5A Motherboard that is known for being finicky about Power supplies. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience and have ordered from them since with no problems yet.

"These guys are thieves -- you have been warned.

They charged my card the day after I placed an order. A week and a half later, I tried calling and e-mailing them about my order, but couldn't get to anyone. I asked that they either provide proof that they had shipped the order, or to provide a refund.

After another week and a half, and leaving a few more e-mail messages, they finally sent me an e-mail (citing "problems with key systems" as the reason for the delay) that they claimed was the tracking number for my package. However, it was the number for somebody else's package that had been shipped at roughly the same time.

It's been a week since then, and no word from Amamax. I wish I had paid attention to the reviews here -- it would have saved me quite a bit of trouble.

UPDATE
------
On 5/23/03, I recieved an e-mail that they had misshipped my order, and said that they would either issue a refund or ship it 3-day air for no extra charge. As I had obtained what I needed elsewhere, I asked to have them refund my money. Here's hoping that they do so quickly.

In any case, taking more than a month to do this (4/20/03 - 5/23/03) is highly unacceptable, but assuming that they issue my refund as planned, I'll retract my statement about them being thieves.

"Made order in May 14 on a Power Magic ATX 715D ATX 11Bay mid-tower case at $19, extra require a rear case fan at $6, front USB 2.0 and Audio port at $3. To be careful, I also add $3 for adding extra shipping box. So the total is $31. May 15 got email said that case is out of store and ask for using 721D instead at the same price. I called the rep to confirm the change. UPS grounf free shipping, May 20 I get the order. Everything looks good, except the power supply is 500w. Is that a problem? :)

"Wow! What can I say but CRAP!!! This was the rudest customer service I EVER dealt with! I cancelled the order before it was even shipped, it was so bad! I wanted to order 6 video cards, since there was an offer of a coupon on pricewatch, and the price seemed right. It said, limit 1 coupon per order. Well, I assumed that since this 1 coupon was for a discount on the particular card I was buying, that it would apply to all of them, being the same exact item and all. Well, when I placed the order, I noticed the discount was only applied to one. I made a note in the comments box, hoping they would fix it manually. Was I ever wrong! Not only did I not get my critical order (very time sensitive), but it took them almost 100 hours to tell me they hadn't accepted the order! When she did finally get around to responding, The sales"lady" snapped at me right off the bat! It was obvious she was mad that I tried to cut her out of her huge profit on shipping, and that they try to purposely trick people into ordering. What sense would it make to have to place 6 seperate orders for the same item?! That means 6x the shipping fee, and 6x the work typing in shipping/CC info. But this is apparently what she wanted me to do! What a joke! Do yourself a favor...look at the ratings CLOSELY. This is NOT a company you want to be doing business with, and risking your hard-earned cash on. STAY FAR AWAY.

UPDATE:

I followed the rules EXACTLY. Said limit 1 coupon per order. I assume this coupon would be good for any quantity of that item. Your rules mentioned NOTHING about this. Yeah, you may have plenty in stock now and free shipping, but why would anyone in their right mind WANT to order?! Amamax is ranked in the bottom 20% of companies rated on this site. Do you mean to tell me that all those deals gone bad has always been the customers fault? You accept no responsibility? I find that hard to believe that with all these complaints, EVERY ONE was the fault of the customer.

"I had no real big problems with these guys. I ordered a video card, it was back ordered and they emailed me and told me this. My only complaint is that they did not send me a follow up email about the status of it later. All in all a good transaction though.

I also think it's great that they reply to these, it shows they do care about their customers and their reputation.

"I purchased a case and 400W power supply for a total of $27, shipping included. The item arrived rapidly and just as advertised. My only complaint is that the power supply runs a bit hot, with the +12 line at around +12.9, but you get what you pay for. Extremely satisfied."

"I ended up getting my money back, including shipping, but had to pay for return shipping. They sent me the wrong card. I went to Comp-USA and paid a bit more but have had the card in my PC and its working great. I would suggest you not use this vendor.

Ok, I ordered a PCI video card, they sent me an AGP video card. The box said PCI, the invoice said PCI, the card even said PCI, but it was an AGP card. This is crazy!! If I want to wait for a replacement it will take more than 3 weeks as "Our RMA department is backlogged."

Easy, I did a charge back on my Mastercard. So I am out shipping charges. Im going to COMP-USA I dont care if I have to pay $200 for the damb card. I JUST WANT WHAT I ORDERED!

Forget getting anyone on the phone. Its voice mail or nothing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR!!

"On March 8th, I had placed an order for a nVidia card advertised on Pricewatch for $61.00, item # VDINOB555G4M440A246 Inno3D Nvidia GeForce4 MX440 128MB DDR W/TV Out and DVI. Now don't get me wrong here, it was a great price and I wanted it specifically because of the DVI connector.

I called Amamax on March 11th to find out the status of my order, the person I spoke with told me it was being shipped out that day. I started checking there Tracking Site for a shipping number on March 12th, nothing was coming up. I sent an email to there RMA department on the 12th, this is what I sent:

"I was told yesterday morning (Tuesday March 11th, 2003) that this order would be shipped that day, your status screen STILL shows NO STATUS, your Tracking Site shows NOTHING for 52493 in ALL 4 Tracking windows.
Where is my order ?? You debited my VISA account $ 71.18 on March 11th, 2003"

March 13th, I received as response from ThomasR:
"I am sorry sir. The card you ordered went on back order due to our shipment of the product being late. Your card will ship out as soon as
we get it in. Thank you and have a nice day.

Thomas R.
Amamax Computer Inc."

So now they have my money, yet I have nothing to show for it! I sent another email out on March 15th to ThomasR:

"Thomas R.

Is it not normal business practice that if you do NOT have an item in stock which was ordered, or that you have run out of this item, that you DO NOT charge one's credit cards until you have it back in stock and ready to ship?

I expect my charge card to be credited back the $71.18 you took out on March 11th, and I want this done on Monday March 17th. This is if you have not received the item I ordered and is shipped that same day. If I do not receive an email with a tracking number of my order by the 17th, or my card has not been credited, the BBB and your Chamber of Commerce will be notified the 18th of your companies business ethics."

ThomasR responded on March 17th:

"Sir the card went on back order due to our shipment being late. This is not something we can predict or control. I have been told that the cards should come in tomorrow morning. Your order will be shipped out as soon as the card arrives. Short of that we can cancel you order and give you a full refund if you would prefer. Have a nice day.

Ok, so, I let it ride, I sat back to see what would happen, March 19th, the video card was shipped out "1Z7E72190342519636" I received on March 25th, now get this, THEY SUBSTITUDED my order with VDINOB555G4M440A423 which does not even come up on there website as a part number, the card is still a Nvidia GeForce4 MX440 128MB with NO DVI, I NEED THE DVI that is why I order that card in the first place. They also hand written on the invoice a $5.00 less in price (which I have not checked yet to see if my visa was credited that - ohh but I will), its March 26th today, I have already once called there customer service to get the RIGHT CARD I ordered, of course they're 1 hour behind me so I got there machines, this one I will keep you all posted with, but so far, I'M NOT IMPRESSED, the fact that they did not inform me that they were going to substitute my order.

Quick Update: Amamax Policy in Substitutions:
"Overview

Under some circumstances older items or out of stock items may require subsitution to fulfill the order. If there is any item in your order that you need exactly as specified, please note it in the comments section. Subsitution is done only to prevent order delays. We subsitute with the following conditions.

Item specs and quality match. (Mem and HDD)
Item is newer version of same brand or better model that has identical or improved features. (Motherboards and Video Cards)"

Hmmm, same brand, better model that has identical or improved features! and notice in the brackets "Video Cards" how can a video card WITHOUT DVI be classed as IMPROVED? that would be a DOWNGRADE.

I contacted my bank to verify if any funds from AMAMAX had been received since March 11th, I was told NO, the only transaction that has been received was for the debit on March 11th for $71.18, so, if they played with the prices and took off $5.00 from my original order, WHERE IS THE $5.00 THEN? WHEN WILL THAT BE CREDITED BACK TO MY ACCOUNT?

I finally got through to AMAMAX and spoke with Thomas R. himself, I asked him to explain the substitution of my order, he said that the Nvidia card I ordered is no longer produced, a discontinued item. I told him I did not want this card he said me, so I was given a RMA#9613, I asked Thomas (without mentioning the $5.00 credit I was suppose to have received) whe I could expect a FULL REFUND on my order, he stated that the credit will appear as soon as they have the product back. I sent the product back via FedEX OverNight (Tracking#791334320103) they will have this tomorrow, so now lets see what bullsh*t they will pull this time.
