"The clear product description enabled me to order exactly the power supply my computer needed. It was shipped the same day I ordered, delivered the next morning, and my computer was up and running quickly."
"Hassle free return/exchange. Bought a Tamron lens. The copy was defective. Getting a replacement through online return center was a breeze. Amazon shiped the replacement at lightening speed. No waiting on hold, no talking to an annoying customer service rep. They even refunded my return shipment!"
"Excellent service, great communication, Amazon always has been provided an outstanding service even when the moment of retrieving my money from a bad merchant came.
I placed my order for a Canon 40D on 6-25 and I receive it today (6-30) with no shipping fee, the price I get from them is the best by the way.
Whenever is needed I will come to Amazon to make my online shopping."
""Great friedly customer service. Item arrived within 2 days and perfect order. Great savings over the other retailers. I will always refer to Amazon when making future purchases! "
"I usually purchase DVDs form amazon and the prices are very low for most of the items. But they take so long to ship and the international shipping charges are very high."
"I ordered two books, ISBN#0240808908 and #032144017X. As what you would expected from any online retailer, it's pretty painless. The books at Amazon are normally prices cheaper than any other local retail store, and free shipping is a plus(if you haven't know this by now, you probably were in a cave or living yourself offline for too long) The books arrives as expected, in a good condition. What I normally don't like about Amazon is their packaging. This isn't a first time I brought stuff from Amazon, but I feel sometime they are a bit being cheap when packing people book. I do get that, it's just a book, but sometime what happened is that some of the books are just being shiped inside the box, and when it got thrown around, the cover of the book can get damage easily. Some of the book are packed inside an additional packaging, card board on one side and wrapped in plastic. That should have been a standard shipping package on all book if not bubble wrap instead."
"I ordered a Canon camera from Amazon after finding that their price with free shipping was just as low as the prices at the bait-and-switch scam stores. I was able to order the camera, a 4GB SD card, and a generic spare battery for a total that came to $40 less than the MSRP for the camera. The package shipped four days later and arrived the next day, meeting the 5-7 day time frame for the free shipping. Overall, the selection, prices, communication, and speed were superior."
"I've been ordering from amazon for many years and I have always had excellent service. I pretty much buy everything from amazon now, instead of local stores such as Worst Buy, etc. I generally choose the free shipping option although it takes a few more days. Since the late 1990's, I've only had to return two items."
"I have ordered from amazon since I knew about the site in 2001. I've never had any problems with the orders, only because I order directly from Amazon.com. I never buy items from third party sellers because I don't trust them enough to have the products in store for me or even ship it for free and on time."
"I ordered a Sigma lens from Amazon.com using their free super saver shipping feature. The lens arrived in just a few days. This copy of the lens was defective (a common tale, but true); its autofocus motor died after two days. I notified Amazon and they sent out a replacement immediately. They provided a shipping label and instructions about how to return the defective copy. They will reimburse me for the return shipping. I felt they did all they could, and quickly. It's a big, complex merchant system and it's possible that sometimes there are delays or errors, but I feel that Amazon tries very hard to do the right thing by its customers. Recommended."
"The problem that plagues sites with multiple vendors such as Ebay, Half, and Amazon, is the quality of the sellers themselves. I've always found vendors on Amazon.com, whether it be used or new products, to be more credible and trustworthy.
Shipping generally ranges from slow to very quickly. More times than not, I've always received items within 7 business days. I have never received defective or the wrong item from Amazon.com. And more importantly, I've never been conned on Amazon. (Knock on wood)
Nevertheless, Amazon would have never become the retailer monster it is today without some degree of professionalism and credibility. I trust that everytime I order something from Amazon or from a vendor on Amazon, I'll get exactly what I ordered. And like any vendor, use common sense and you'll be alright."
"Probably the best commerce site on the Internet. Easy to use and good prices."
"Should have shipped my item on May 20. But when I come home on May 21, only to find that amazon didn't ship my item. It's asking for my approve for a $80 order. Which I have to log in, and click the revise button. LAME! Stop making delay, just ship it!"
"I have purchased several items from Amazon.com and never had any issues.
Most of my orders were free shipping and no tax so there was no hidden cost other than prices listed on the website.
Shipping is fast and usually receive my orders in 2-3 days in CA.
The best thing about Amazon.com is 30day price matching policy. If the price drop within 30 days, they will refund the difference if you call them and request the price matching. Most small companies don't offer such option.

"AMAZON DOES NOT VERIFY CREDIT CARD BILLING AND SHIPPING INFORMATION MATCH! Amazon will ship to ANY address irregardless of what the credit card billing address is. Think you've updated your credit card billing/shipping address with Amazon if you move? Think again.
I have bought from/through Amazon and its sellers since 2005. On 05/16/2008 I placed a modest order for an after-market charging system for one of my MP3 players.
Last fall I updated my credit card billing and shipping information in my [now former] Amazon account after moving.
After placing the order, imagine my surprise when I received two emails, one from the seller and one from Amazon, confirming shipment of the product (speedy, same day shipping, a real rarity from Amazon, generally speaking), only to note that the correct billing address appeared, but the SHIPPING address was the old address in an entirely different city. NOTHING matched, addresses or telephone numbers, but that didn't bother Amazon.
So, I'm out the $$$ for the home/auto charger for my MP3. Although I have contacted the seller, I daresay that's one package we'll never see again.
Utilizing the Amazon immediate call back system to get some kind of reasonable resolution was a complete and utter joke. Spent two hours with a bevy of different customer service reps, allegedly having difficulty with their phone lines (I was disconnected no less than FOUR TIMES).
One rep wanted me to call my bank Monday and reverse the credit card charge so I could let Amazon charge me AGAIN for the product so Amazon could overnight it to me with Amazon picking up the shipping tab (nice, but why the chargeback/re-charge?).
Duh??? Why have ME reverse the credit card charge instead of just Amazon shipping me the product itself (as he was apparently attempting to do - I presume Amazon itself must also carry this particular item as well as the second-party seller from whom I originally purchased it through Amazon).
Moreover, I could only imagine my bank's reaction if I signed off on a CC reversal only to run another charge from the same company, Amazon, right back through. That probably wouldn't go over too well with my bank.
The only low-down reason I could figure out for Amazon wanting me to do it that way would be to charge back to the innocent second-party seller who'd end up getting beat out of his product AND his part of the product cost after Amazon fees. Hence, Amazon's customer "service", allegedly, rep wanting me to process yet another charge directly to Amazon with "free" overnight Amazon shipping. Yeah, right. I pay twice and get "free" shipping once.
What a discombobulated, utterly bizarre brand of "customer service". I've been serviced all right, but not in a manner all that conducive to an ongoing business relationship with Amazon, that's for sure. What a joke.
I am utterly appalled that any major internet e-tailer would process a shipment where billing and shipping addresses do not come close to matching ... especially when I had updated my Amazon account information way back in September 2007. Moreover, what the heck is Amazon doing keeping old addresses long AFTER a customer has updated his/her billing/shipping information?
Bottom line: Amazon provides about as much fraud prevention/protection as eBay does.
Meanwhile, I'm likely out what I paid Amazon for the home/auto MP3 charging system ... but at least I know I'll get it in three business days after I wander over, virtually speaking, to buy what I need for my MP3 player at NewEgg after I get this posted ... where I should've paid the extra bucks and bought the product to begin with.
Chalk one up for being penny-wise (saving $10 on Amazon, or so I thought) and pound foolish (it's going to cost me what I paid Amazon plus NewEgg's cost for the MP3 auto/home charging package).
Lesson learned: if the e-tailer doesn't rate very well indeed here, think once or twice or thrice before ordering, no matter how much of a bargain it appears to be."
