"Buyers beware. I ordered Pentax K100D Super camera on January 21, 2008 from Amazon and waited til March 10 for item to be shipped, and it was never shipped to me. My money were never charged, so that's covered. I also ordered Pentax-compatible Sigma lense, SD card and AA-batteries. All these items are now beyond 30 days return restriction. Now I canceled camera piece of order, and cannot buy K100D Super anywhere except from companies whom I don't trust, it's discontinued and out of stock everywhere.
I bought K10D (was forced - what would I do with that Sigma lense now?) from other good vendor and it's been shipped next day, not 1.5 month delayed!
I would not order this camera from Amazon and next time I will be careful ordering anything which states "shipped in 1-3 month".
What's more - I didn't get any letter of apology or gift card from Amazon. Business as usual - that's what it is.

"I have ordered countless items from Amazon, my most recent purchase a Playstation 3 in January. Overall my experience with them from shipping to customer service was wonderful. The only bone I have to pick with them is that their Amazon Warehouse advertised a severely reduces price sixty gigabite PS3, and when I went to purchase it, it was suddenly not in stock but the page said it was in stock ... I called their customer service which was wonderful, but I was sad that they did not apologize or agree to fix the error at least so other people don't experience the same problem."

"The order was placed through Amazon.com, however, the item was sold and shipped by Tigerdirect.com. The price of the product dropped $100.00 within a week of receiving it. I contacted the customer service at both the Tigerdirect.com and Amazon.com. I received a prompt response from a customer service rep at Amazon.com by the name of Landry. The issue was resolved to my satisfactin and in a very timely manner. I do beleive good people and good customer service go a long way to make good companies and inspire confidence in consumers to do more business with such companies. "

"After reading some of the reviews indicating the reviewers were dissatisfied or less that satified, I really wonder how some folks manage to get through life, as clueless as they are. A high percentage of the "less than favorable" reviews for this merchant should have been very satisfies, or at least somewhat satisfied. Most of them are either the result of incredible nitpicking, or merely the failure to read the decriptions, especially with regard to 3rd party merchants. My experiences with amazon. com have always been extremely pleasant. My most recent purchase was a Henry Kloss Tivoli music system that amazon.com sold me for $200.00 under the list price. By far the lowest price of any merchant on the internet for a new unit. They were up front about not having any units in stock when I ordered on 2/1/2008, but the price was so good, I ordered anyway. When they received inventory, I noticed the price had gone up the $200.00, which had initially been lower than everyone else. However, I recived my unit on 2/29/2008, and was only charged the original bargain price. The packaging was excellent, & the unit arrived in great shape, & sounds incredible. I wound up paying $399.00 for a system that everyone else is selling for $599.00 (including amazon.com - now that they have restocked). I can't say enough about how pleased I am with this company - I have never had a problem in the 3 years I have been dealing with them, & I would give them the highest possible rating."

"It's uncharacteristic of me to join a website to sing a reseller's praise, but my last transaction's success simply floored me. Not sure why the ratings for Amazon are so bad. This is an amazing company.

On Feb 28th, 2008, I ordered a 52 inch Sony lcd. Nice price, but the thought of ordering something of such mass scared me. What would I do if I got a lemon? What if the price went down a day later?

I sucked it up, knowing I'd be under warranty if a problem arises, and that Amazon offers a 30 day price guarantee (will refund the difference if the cost lowers in 30 days of order). Didn't opt for fancy shipping, deciding nothing beats free -- even if it meant waiting a few weeks. To my surprise, however, Amazon called about delivery on the 29th, and the tv arrived at my home March 1st, mere days after the order.

The shipping company, Eagle, went out of their way to get the tv into my home (had to carry it across a busy street as my driveway was much too small!), open the box and set it atop my tv stand, and give me ample time to investigate everything.

All that shipping goodness for free! Sheer perfection.

So, yes, I am extremely happy. Awesome tv. Awesome service. Awesome awesome awesome. Amazon, thank you for being sexy. You have a customer for life.

Beware: Amazon Will Ban You For Too Many Returns

"I had ordered some items I no longer needed. Sometimes it's hard to tell what items are like in person until you get them. Despite being an Amazon Prime member, I received a warning email saying I was returning too many orders and that I would be "banned" if it continued. Mind you mist of the returned items hadn't even been opened and could be resold as new. I've given Amazon thousands of dollars over the years. This is the thanks I get? "

"Great purchase, I bought a Canon 40D, with 3 lenses and a Sandisk Compact Flash.
Great place to buy photographic equipment for the following main reasons:
- low prices, with 30 days timeframe for being refunded if there is a price drop
- shipment to hotel possible. Good return policy in case of problems.
- shipment very cheap, costed to me 4.99$ for each item for a 1-day express shipment. Shipment has been on time.

One things to pay attention to: the good should be provided by Amazon, and not by other merchants using Amazon to get the maximum trust and best policies for return, etc.

I am definitely very satisfied!

"I have been buying from Amazon.com for 2-3 years and have only praise for this company. I went Prime (FREE 2-day shipping--after annual fee) soon after discovering their incredible customer service. If I have a problem with a product and it is their fault in any way, they send a shipping label and a replacement product with next day shipping. I have 30 days to return the item or I would be charged for both (Fair enough). Anytime I decide to purchase something, I always check Amazon's price first--they are generally very competitive. If there is a few dollars difference, I will order with Amazon because of their tremendous customer support--the best I have encountered."

"I've been buying from Amazon for ten years (I just checked my history - first order placed on March 3, 1998) I cannot think of a single time that I had a problem with any aspect of dealing with them. Sometimes their free shipping is a little slow, but it was my option to select it and they gave an estimate on how long it would take. Sometime their prices aren't the best, but I can shop around. Basically, you get exactly what you see going in. Now, I'm a Prime member (free two-day shipping for an annual fee) and I get everything in two or less days.

I was shocked to see such a low rating for Amazon on this site. As another poster suggested, it may be competitors or anti-conglomerates (the kind of people who hate Microsoft or Wal-Mart just because they're so big).

At any rate, two thumbs up for Amazon.

"Exellent!!! Amazon one of the best on-line stores if not the best.I have 8 years experience of buying stuffs from Amazon.And I know what I'm talking about.Great in any aspects of business.I can't understand ,why rating of this great company is so low.I know that many of my coworkers ,friends buying from Amazon for years and did not heard any complains from them.I have some guess(maybe it's only my paranoia) that many of negative comments made by competitors of this company,or them people).
So ,i highly recommend you to try Amazon for once and I'm sure you'll become happy costumer for many years.

"I used to split my business 50/50 between Amazon and Buy.com. When buy.com turned into a bunch of a-holes I started shopping exclusively at Amazon.
