"Officially advertised Black Friday sale items have been just cancelled after two weeks wait by such a lame excuse "Price Mistake"? Can't believe I stayed up to 3 AM and just got this official rip-off eventually. You call yourself a reputable online retailer, really?"
"This place is the worst place on the internet. They are total crooks can you say take the money and run. That is what happened. I ordered paid and they shipped it to who knows where and will not reship or refund
Scammers"
"I pre-ordered this item 2 weeks before it was to be released. The day after it was to be released, LESS THAN 2 WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS, they canceled my order. Unbelievable I'll be damned if they ever receive one cent of my money again."
"BUYERS BEWARE
I preordered an item from AMAZON and was given a confiramtion on good faith that I would be receiving the item before Christmas for my children. One day AFTER the item should have been shipped to me, I received an email from AMAzON stating simply that they were sorry they took too many orders for the items and it was being deleated from my order history. But not to worry that my credit card had not been charged.
UNEXCEPTABLE... Santa is not bringing my children's gift because it is too late to get it elsewhere and AMAZON did not follow through with their order. THey should not be taking so many preorders if they do not intend to honor them! NO COMPENSATION whatsoever is offered just a "I am sorry". They are the grinch who stole christmas from my kids. After being on the phone for over 1/2 hour getting disconnected once...I got no compensation from AMAZON except the "I am sorry". They then have the nerve to send me an email asking if my problems were solved with customer service. I answered the email by going to the provided link to tell them again what I thought of them not honoring their orders or compensating people. The link asks you to type in your phone number so they can call you back..I did this and when they called back I was diconnected!!!! UNEXCEPTABLE!!! UNPROFESSIONAL!!
UNRELIABLE!!! I put the emphasis on UNRELIABLE... BUYERS BEWARE WHEN ORDERING FROM AMAZON BUY ELSEWHERE from a company that values their customers and honors their orders don't be sucked in by some blind promise they don't intend to keep."
"Never bought at Amazon until a few months ago. I received my products and was happy. I even got a Amazon charge card so I could buy more. My wife is an avid shopper and when I told her about amazon she started making a list of stuff she wants.
BUT Now I hate amazon. Because I feel AMAZON PURCHASES CANNOT BE TRUSTED. Their Black Friday sale was not honored. I could have bought elsewhere without loosing out on Black Friday promotions.
What I don't understand is: How can Amazon claim a pricing error ??? when their policy states:
QUOTE: "With respect to items sold by Amazon, we cannot confirm the price UNTIL YOU ORDER, however we don't charge your credit card.."
THEY ACCEPTED MY ORDER, and even send a confirming email of shipping date. Then 10 days later cancels the shipping, claiming pricing error when there was none when the order was taken. And why did it take so long ?? How can they get away with that ?
They lost me as buyer and references from me, including an addicted buyer (my wife).
To me shopping at Amazon turned out to be penny wise during the year, but pound foolish on a day when everyone discounted their products more than 50% (percent).
Also had a Terrible Experience with Customer Service, and everyone, sooner or later, will run into the need when customer service is required to be top notch.
Is this deceptive advertising and the Rebate is worthless ? Has anyone looked into a class action ? (If a lawyer takes a class action case, there is no charge to the consumer or claimants.)

"I too had problems with multiple orders on Black Friday. First they cancelled the MX revolution mouse I ordered. Next they cancelled the PS3 Sixaxis Controller and then they cancelled both the MX5000 keyboard mouse combo and the Logitech Webcam. Not only did they cancel them they completely deleted them off my order history. I called the CSRs who said they were out of stock but I pointed out that they were indeed all in stock on their websites albeit at higher prices. The CSR then went and reinstated all orders at the price I ordered them and assured me of delivery since they were indeed in stock. The next day I received cancellation notices again for all the same items. Amazon service has been going downhill. I called Customer service again and was told there was nothing they could do. Hung up, called another CSR who said they would refund me the difference if I placed a new order. I did so and received no refund. I emailed the CSR again and this time was told they would not honor the refund EVEN THOUGH ANOTHER CSR PROMISED ME IN WRITING. They did wind up sending me the keyboard though after an additional call but I lost out on my mouse, webcam and ps3 controller due to no fault of my own. Totally unacceptable and I will not order from them again."
"This is what I wrote to Mercury News Editor today:
Dear Editor,
I would like to share my Amazon.com's TV order
experience with other readers and let them know that in this digital age, things can go so bad that Amazon.com could give false reasons for the order cancellation.
I placed the order late night on Dec 11, 2007. On Dec 12 early morning, I got confirmation email from the merchant that the order has been received. Soon after I got email from Amazon that the order has been cancelled. The reason given was "out of stock".
I called the merchant (Datavision www.datavis.com) immediately to check if the TV was in stock or not. They told me that TV was indeed in stock but they cancelled the order due to Amazon.com's pricing mistake.
I understand pricing mistakes happen and good
merchants do honor their mistakes or compensate
somehow, but neither Datavision nor Amazon.com did anything about this. They just simply cancelled my order. My order does not even show up on my account on Amazon.com so I cannot even leave the feedback for the merchant.
I am totally upset due to two reasons:
1) False reason given to me for the order cancellation.
2) Unable to leave feedback for the merchant at
Amazon.com. Is this how feedback system supposed to work at Amazon.com?
I am cc'ing merchant and amazon.com so that they can correct me if I have said anything wrong in this email.
Just want to share my experience with your viewers.
If you need more details, you can reach me at
or
Thank you very much,

"I've been a long and loyal customer of Amazon... and I have to say, most of the time their selection and service is pretty good. My concern is that sometimes their shipping doesn't make sense to me - sometimes they'll ship a massive order the next day, or take weeks to ship a single smaller item. Overall, decent experience. Just know that if you use free shipping... you get what you pay for (not in damages, but in waiting time)"
"Amazon is the best on-line purchasing experience that I've had and I've been doing business with them for at least six years."
"I also have difficulties with my black Friday order. I emailed them, and the only response I got is that they are sorry about my situation! Amazon didn't make any attempt to make things right. What a waste of time staying awake on Thanksgiving holiday to get the "special price error sale.""
"I am still satisfied with Amazon even though they screwed up my address (no street number). But their customer service is not well-trained at resolving problems. It took about 2 weeks to correct the wrong address. Although my order was eventually delivered a week after the scheduled delivery, I was really frustrated with their customer service which are out-sourced from India and do not know how to go about some problems. They just reply my email with a standard set of pre-typed answers that do not resolve the problem directly. Instead of giving me a solution, they gave me more problems to solve. But all's well that ends well. Like I said I'm still going to shop again at Amazon because they give the best price on most items but not all."
"I also had difficulties with my black Friday order. I emailed them (a few times), and they were fair about making it right. Well done!"
"Like everyone else that has commented in the past several weeks, I also got screwed by Amazon. This is clearly an abuse of their power as a major company to provide a service of selling their product to a selective few and leaving the rest of their consumers in the dark. I now tell others to avoid Amazon at all cost and choose other alternative retailers. Amazon needs to learn from Newegg about running a business."
"Regarding their customer service, I ordered the mouse that everyone has been posting about. I was told, after two emails, that they would make a one-time exception to honor the previous price and that I should place a new order. Once I place the order for the mouse at full price, they told me to email them back with the new order number for the discount.
When I did, I was told that they would not be honoring their promise. I would have to pay full price (a $50 difference) because one customer service rep. decided to break the word of another.
When I called to find out more information, I was told that no customer service rep. can alter a price on a product, for any reason. Hilarious in retrospect since they've been doing it for other people after my story made it to Consumerist.com. Too bad they didn't do it for me."
" Amazon false advertises their products, using "price mistake" as an excuse. On Black Friday, Amazon post the Logitech MX Revolution mouse and webcam on their "exclusive deals" front page. A little more of a week after Black Friday, I received an email from Amazon stating that my order as been canceled due to price error. If this is price error, shouldn't Amazon have moderators monitoring the page they know that will be viewed a lot? If it is a price mistake, why does it take a week for Amazon to say its a price error and not on the same day?
After a week of calling and emailing, I kept getting the same response: "price error." Then one CSR said they'll make an exception and placed the order at the price before rebates without my consent. Furious that due to the new order date meant that the rebate would be invalid, I fought for another half week complaining about the rebate. Finally, a CSR gave me the price that the order should have been after rebate. On that same day, the file I complaint was updated, with Amazon using the same "price error" response? What is going on here? First Amazon does not want to help me? Then they do? Then they dont and take back their word?
Amazon has seriously gone down the drain. The company has become more and more unorganized the bigger it has become. Now Amazon is at the bottom of my list when I have to make online purchases as this Black Friday experience is one that I'll never forget. Very dissatisfied!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM AMAZON. Any company that is organized like this should fail and no longer exist."
