"Amazon has been one of my favorite on-line stores for as long as I can remember. I'm an Amazon Prime member, and I always get my orders in one or two days (one if shipped via Airborne, two if by FedEx or UPS).

I have only had to deal with customer service once out of at least 50 orders (probably twice that many), and they took care of me and gave me a gift certificate for my trouble.

Great selection, good customer service, superb reliability.

"I ordered a book from Amazon Sep 5, 2006 and sent them a check the following day. "My Account" stated that they were awaiting payment. I canceled the order and reordered using my credit card.

My check was cashed by Amazon and cleared my bank Sep. 15.

I had talked to Amazon's customer service three times and was told three different things.
The first agent told me that my check would be returned uncashed. It was cashed.
The second agent said I would be reimbursed within 10 days--I wasn't. If they were offering me any credit, I was unaware of it.
My last communication Sep 27 I was told that it would be 3 to 5 weeks to get my refund. That would put it as late as Nov. 1. That would be a month and a half after my check cleared my bank.

I have purchased quite a bit at Amazon and it amazes me that they would be willing to alienate me and lose me as a customer by not refunding my $20.48, which is money they have, they're not waiting for my check to clear.

"I see lots of dissatisfied Amazon customers, but I am definitely not one of them. I have ordered hundreds of items from Amazon for both personal use and for my business - and on those rare occasions when I had a problem, Amazon fixed it satisfactorily. A couple of times they even sent me a gift coupon in apology for the mixup. I am an Amazon Prime member - and it's great to get 2 day shipping for all my items for $79 per year!"

"Purchased Adobe Production Studio Premuim upgrade for $1175.43 Went to install the software and the serial number was invalid. Contacted Adobe Systems in CA, was advised the software serial number was invalid. Adobe unwilling to offer a new key number, employee Movis of Oregon office stated "Amazon.com is not an authorized adobe reseller, we cannot offer support for this product"

Contacted Amazon, spoke with Tabatha B. She instructed me to send the package back asap, get a tracking number and would process a rapid refund immediately upon notification of tracking number. Received an email from her to verify. Went to Staples, submitted package, obtained tracking number. Contacted Amazon within 1 hour with tracking number. Was told by Jackie at Amazon, once package is received, refund would be processed. I disputed this by telling her that I had an email from Tabatha stating rapid refund once tracking number was received etc. Was told Tabatha "had no authority to authorize rapid refund etc" Called again, spoke with Jonathon, Team Leader at Amazon Cust Svc. Jonathon indicated he would process rapid refund immediately upon his supervisor finishing up a meeting. Was told by Jonathon "I will absoultely process this immediately and email you to confirm"
15 hours later, no email, no confirm.

What is the real story here? Adobe and Amazon will not cooperate, both accuse each other of misleading me etc.

I'm out $1200 bucks.

Never again, will I buy Amazon products, also, try finding a phone number for them. I had to search the net to find a disgruntled individual who posted it. ***-***-****.

"Purchased a memory card, never got e-mail and confirmation. Never recieved the item. But they didn't forget to charge my credit card! For some reason this part they never forget. Had to contact my bank to get my money back.

The second purchase was sent to me by USPS (why?), and get lost. Will try to contact USPS in order to track the package. Pretty lame experience with Amazon. Never again will I use them.

They harbor bunch of retalers and probably don't even know hwo is hwo. As soon as money are coming from them they don't care!

"EXCELLENT. Delivered ahead of schedule exactly as ordered. Delivery service (Eagle USA), called ahead and asked for a convenient delivery time. They were courteous... unpacked the Sony Bravia KDL 46s2000 (46")LCD Television in our home and made sure there was no damage prior to our signing the delivery ticket. "The customer service is bad. They been kicking me around like a soccer ball between themself and eagle. The order I place on 8/3/2006 still had not arrive. When I call to cancel the order, they say they can't do that. IT take 2 day for their shipping department (or what they call the responsible department to email me back. No phone number is giving to me at all). Their lack of customer services made me think twice from buying from them again. As a great philosopher once said: Great Empire Rise, Great Empire will fall."

"Amazon.com really doesn't want their customers helping other customers to prevent bad experiences. So they indiscriminately and inconsistently censor the customer reviews and ratings.

I ordered Haier HVB050ABH Designer Series Wine Cellar from Amazon.com. It arrived with visible damage to the factory carton and upon inspection, there were dents on the top rear, back panel and lower doorframe of the wine cooler. This was clearly caused by the inadequate Haier factory packaging. There was almost no protective Styrofoam or cardboard employed.

We decided to keep the damaged wine cooler anyway, since the cosmetic defects weren’t readily noticeable after I touched up the doorframe, and we put a large serving tray on the top. Amazon had agreed on a partial refund that brought my net cost to approximately what I'd expect to pay for a nicked or dinged item at Home Depot. So even though the Haier product packaging was grossly inadequate, we ended up satisfied with the overall deal that resulted from my negotiations with Amazon.com customer service.

My issue with Amazon.com relates to their indiscriminate, and inconsistently exercised censorship of customer reviews and ratings. I posted a very factual and positive review of my experience, including the inadequate packaging, the Amazon partial refund (a positive), the positive features of the product, and a recommendation that other consumers should buy the extended warranty. My review never showed up on the Amazon.com website so I re-submitted it. After several more days, I emailed and asked why it wasn't posted.

To my absolute amazement, the response indicated that "...your review of "Haier HVB050ABH Designer Series Wine Cellar with 50-Bottle Capacity" was removed because your comments in large part focused on your personal opinions of the subject matter, rather than reviewing this item."! After several email exchanges, including a revision I did to my review, which I absolutely didn't consider necessary but made in the spirit of things, my review was still not posted.

Today I received a note from Amazon.com informing me that they have censored (edited) my review and posted it. The author of the note proudly stated “I do not believe the changes I have made alter the quality of your review. However, if you would prefer to have your review removed rather than edited you may do so online.”. Their edits removed any mention of the damaged product receipt, the inadequate packaging, the fact that Amazon.com agreed to give me a partial refund, and several other objective facts intended to help other customers.

That was the last straw. Amazon.com is of course free to exercise censorship on their hosted forum, and in return, I am free to exercise my rights to communicate my experience elsewhere, and to not continue to be one of Amazon's premier customers. I will no longer buy anything from Amazon.com.

"I took advantage of a free trial of amazon prime because they specifically said they would notify me before the free trial expired and i would be given the opportunity to cancel before they charged my credit card. Of course i never received the email and my credit card was charged. i contacted them and they said i didn't receive an email because of a "technical glitch". they did refund the membership fee minus the cost of something i had shipped 2nd day using amazon prime thinking i was still in the free trial membership. it was a book and i could have went up the street to purchase it and not paid the shipping in the first place."

"I have a lot of good luck with Amazon over the years, spent a lot of money there and even earned $25 through their credit card. I've had only one really bad experience where they delayed a package for over 2 months and wouldn't let me cancel it because they were "packing it" and it took half a dozen emails and phone calls to get them to cancel it.

Well, then I placed an order where the shipping was $5, and was charged $10. I emailed Amazon. Amazon told me to talk to the seller. The seller told me to talk to Amazon. I called Amazon again and pointed out it was their server that was mis-charging me and they blammed the seller, but later gave me a $5 credit. That was nice of them.

However, it was a credit that I later learned could only be used on Amazon sales, not partners. Amazon usually doesn't sell the geek toys I buy.

Well, finally I needed something from an Amazon store. I was really looking forward to getting my new toys - astrophotgraphy stuff - and the skies had been uncharacteristically clear and I was wondering why I hadn't even received an email about my order shipping. I looked into it and figured it out:

Amazon is deliberately delaying my package because I used the free shipping I got for spending over $25.

Instead of shipping it that same day or in a day or 2 like every other order they are delaying it out of spite. I ordered it Monday, it is now Friday and they still haven't shipped it and don't ship on the weekend so it will be at least next Monday before they stop sitting on it.

Amazon is literally punishing me for taking advantage of their promotion. They are teaching me a lesson, alright.
