"I have used AxionTech for a number of years for odd parts and OEM equipment when building custom PCs. I always find their prices to be quite reasonable and sometimes *very* low.

Their site is easy to use and I have yet to need anything they didn't carry. The order process is easy. I have never needed to speak with customer service or return anything, so I can't comment on those areas.

I certainly recommend Axion to anyone that needs computer parts and knows what they're looking for.

"Stay away from this company.

I purchased a vaccuum flourescent display that was supposed to be in new condition. The display was previously opened when I recieved it and it was DOA.

I tried their website for an RMA but was refused by their system. Their system said the part I received that day was 7 days out of warranty.

I tried email and received no response. This company does not have an 800 number. Finally I had to pay charges for a long distance call.

The rep that took my call was extremely rude. I specifically stated I wanted an exchange for an operational display.

I had to pay to ship the part back. I was given a refund and not an exchange.

Surprisingly they refunded the original shipping but I'm still out the long distance call and return shipping.

To top it off I have no display.

Poor customer service to the extreme. You may get lucky but if you have problems expect to open up your wallet.

16 April 2004

I'm sorry I do not agree with Axion's addendum to my original post.

I was contacted and a message was left by someone claiming to be a president from Axion and yes that individual did apologize. However, I only received one voice mail and according to my caller ID only one phone call from Axion. Why claim otherwise?

Axion's customer service technician is flat out lying because I did specifically state that I wanted an exchange and was instead given a refund. During the conversation I had with Axion's technician shipping charges were never discussed, period.

I ordered the same display from mwave.com and it arrived in a factory sealed box from Ahanix and the display was sealed in a seperate static sensitive bag from the other components. Far from the condition my Axion order was received in. More BS on Axion's part about factory direct shipping?

Finally, anyone who might be swayed by the attention Axion pays to these posts must realize at least one basic principle.

This is a reactionary style of management. Axion should work to alleviate problems before they arise and not after the fact.

"I purchased an Ecovue 805 Digital Video Recorder from Axion on March 29 via their website. The item listed as in stock. I ordered it and received a nice order confirmation email stating the item was shipped via UPS. Several days later I received a call from an Axion representative saying that they didn't have the item and if I would like they could special order it and I would likely receive it in 3 weeks. 3 weeks being unacceptable I cancelled the order immediately with the representative and asked my credit card be credited. As of April 5th I still have not seen a credit on my card. Overall, they seem to have misleading info on stock and are slow to process my credit. Funny, they had no problem charging me immediately on March 29 for a product they never had. On top of all this the charge made my billing cycle and I was forced to pay it because it's an American Express.

UPDATE:
After my bad experience Axion surprised me with a humble apology for the bad execution on their part, from none other then the Owner himself. He took full responsibility for the mishap and honestly, I was very unprepared for customer service of this type from a online technology web store. On top of the apology the owner informed me of several more cost effective alternatives of the product I desired, of which, I was unaware. He also provided me with some sources of information to help me with some future projects. Shortly after, a credit was issued as promised. The web is a maze of non-responsive and unscrupulous technology sellers, Axion has proved to be in a higher class then the standard. I definitely plan to do business with them in the future.

"Axion service is the worst that I have ever seen.
Rude technical service on the phone, unprofessional technical support. I talked to its representive on the phone about exchanging parts and was told to get the new part two days later. However, when I went its store later, people there said that the part was not there and probably their people on the phone didn't bother to search if the part is in stock because it was a Saturday . I don't recommend my friend and anyone to buy parts from them, unless they can improve.

"Their site basically says "Call during business hours or click this button for Sales Live Help". The chat is only live during business hours as well, they just like to call it "live" for fun.

Other than that, the guys seem good. Fantastic price on a great PSU and there was no hassle at all.

Correction. I run the power supply for a day or so and notice unstable 12v readings (although still above 12v, so no real problem) and my 5v line drops about 6-7 percent when running certains apps. That's unacceptable. I call tech support, I'm told there's a five minute wait with one person ahead of me. Thirty minutes later I'm still waiting. I call on a second phone ... that tells me that the only person ahead of me, is me. I wait another ten minutes. I send a message to their sales staff via the "live" messenger I mentioned before. I got no response. None of their tech support is online.
At this point I notice on their website that while tech support is available for walk-in customers on Saturdays, it's not available over the phone ... curious. I leave a voice mail. We'll see how that turns out ... on Monday ... after running unstable voltages for another two days.
