Just a quick note of interest to any vinyl collectors about there considering purchasing vinyl records from Barnes And Noble....
Their packing of vinyl is HORRIBLE!!! I received my first batch of a large number of vinyl I ordered and MOST of the vinyl jackets were banged up, bent and generally damaged!!! These records came packed loosely, in over sized boxes!!!
The first vinyl, which is a rare out of print piece, was in a box, by itself, packed loose in the bottom of the box with some brown craft packing paper shoved on top of it. Hence, this was bounced around, HARD, in the shipping process and came to me in "fair", at best, shape. And being this is a record out of print since 2009 and their only copy, Im stuck with what I got and generally VERY unhappy.
The next box had 3 records in it, 2 single, one double, LOOSE again, and ALL banged up with the jackets bent, dented and damaged!!! This large box, 3 vinyls just throw in, loose on top of each other, with those inflatable plastic bags on top. Again, NOT HAPPY!!! >=((
There is a package set to be delivered to me today that contains 2 3 vinyl box sets and 3 other single vinyl albums and I am now DREADING seeing the conditions of these records when I open this box!!!!
B&N, you REALLY need to look into how you pack and ship vinyl records, these were ALL ordered directly from your site, not 3rd party sellers. People like me, who COLLECT vinyl records and spend ALOT of money for such things, DO NOT appreciate our merchandise being treated and delivered to us in these damaged conditions. You either need to come up with better shipping methods or just stop selling it on your site as this is a travesty that I spend HUNDREDS of dollars on and at this point I will NOT be spending ANYMORE money on your site for vinyl records until VAST improvements on you packing methods have improved!!!"
"Below worst expectation.... Ordered a book from BN on April 8. The book never arrived, after sending a request to BN, they always return a mail saying they will be back after less than 24 hours which happened only once(among the 4-5 mails I sent). They finally having processed a refund which never happened until today... Although this is not a big amount of money: 77$ but it shows the attitude of this bookstore with his customers. I will never buy something else from them. "

"This is a great book store. It is a bit pricey, but all national chains are. I usually prefer to buy my books online for pricing purposes. Barnes and Noble does have great customer service, though. On top of it, I love the fact that the majority of stores that I've been to have had a Starbucks right inside.

I thought I rented it for the whole semester, but midway through the semester, I was charged an additional $255 for the book. I called the customer service line, but they wouldnt do anything to help.
