"I ordered a Geforce 4 cooler. The price was really good and the shipping was really cheap. The order process was ok. The bad part was it took a total of 5 days to ship my item after placing the order, that was 2 more days than what I was notified would be the expected shipment date. The item arrived in good condition and works great but there was no invoice inside the package even though I requested it."
"I had forgotten to add Arctic Silver 5 to another order I was doing on another site (too late to call and add it) so I looked around to find the cheapest price on AS5, preferably with free shipping. This led me to Best Byte. So I plopped a AS5 into my cart and proceeded to fill out the info. I then submit it, only to see a server error 500. I was weary about this so I waited a little while and checked my email to see If I got a confirmation that they recieved my order. None. So I placed the same order again (probably shouldn't have). I then sent them an email saying that if there were two of the same order from me, to cancel one of them. I then checked their website a bit more to see that they specifically said "Call us if there is a problem because email won't reach us in time".
Fine. So I tried calling their Toll-Free number. It came up busy about 20 times. I then tried their non-free number which also came up busy. Great....
Amazingly they post their owners number. So I gave that a call. Sucess!!! I spoke to the owner and he had told me that they were closed but he could write down a problem that I had and fix it the next day. I told him my above problem and he assured me that if their was a duplicate order, it would "automatically" cancel the second. I took his word for it (bad move).
Oct29, I check my account and I see I've been charged for 2 orders of AS5. Woopee. I tried all the numbers again, no go. I called the owners number and got his voicemail. I left a message for him to call me and left my number. I've not heard from him since.
So today (Oct 31), I get 2 emails saying that I have 2 packages with AS5 in them, headed my way.
Craptastic. What kind of company: A) Doesn't have working phones B) Doesn't check their email C) Has owners lie to their customers. D) Doesn't have a proper working webpage
Seriously, I don't recommend ordering from this company. Sure it was great they posted their owners number on the page, but I would have rather just had my order shipped correctly. Imagine if I had ordered something bigger (say a whole computer system or such). I'd now have 2 new computers sytems."
"Not happy with these jokers. Don't believe the shipping policy on the site.
I had placed an order on A Monday Fedex third day select, and was called by a preson there because they wanted my Credit Card company's phone number. The person on the phone told me that the package would go out that day. So 3 days pass, and nothing arrives. I go to track on the website and there is no informatin there. Friday, a day after I am supposed to have the package, I get a shipping mail with a tracking number showing the package had gone out Thirsday.
These guys should not advertise they can ship items out on the same day as ordered if they cannot fulfill. I feel that this is a pretty dishonest and sloppy shop. They will never get my business again."
"I ordered 2 Vantec Stealth 80mm fans from Best Byte on 10/12/03. They were $7 a piece shipped - great deal. On 10/17/03, I received a package from Best Byte that contained 2 Thermaltake Smart Case Fan 2's. Not bad fans, but not what I ordered. I emailed them and got no response. I called today (10/20/03), and the guy on the phone said that if I would send them back, they would credit my card for the return postage and send the correct items. That's nice and all, but I don't want to wait another ~2 weeks for a quiet case, and why couldn't they do it right the first time? Thermaltake looks nothing like Vantec. Unsatisfactory. I'm not sure I will exchange, simply because I don't want to wait any longer for quiet fans, and these Thermaltakes are ok. Overall, despite the low price, I am not satisfied."
"What is there to say, they do has some of the best prices on cooling fans around. And shipping isnt to bad on some of them. Have ordered from them four or five times, and they have always done me well. Have had no real problems, with items ordered, items shipped. So I will recomend these folks to anyone who has to buy cooling parts for there computers.
The one thing they do lack in is communications with there customers. Other than that I have no complaints."
"The BEST price ever! This is my second order from BestByte. Very quick shipment. No problems at all!
"
"I was shopping around for some thermal paste and thermal adhesives. Ceramique was my paste of choice, and I had been finding a lot of people selling the 2.7g syringe for around $3.50. BestByte had the 22g syringe for under $8. I'll probably never use the whole 22g, but you can't beat almost 10x the quantity for almost half the price. Also ordered a Zalman northbridge heatsink for half the price of the lowest price listed on pricewatch. Very pleased with their prices. Shipping was fast as well. Ordered on October 6th after their noon cutoff for same day shipping, and received the order on the 9th."
"Very fast, Ordered case fans Thursday and received package Saturday. Would purchase from again."
"VERY UNSATISFIED!
Shipping is very quick. Prices are very good as well. One of the best prices I've seen on the Internet. However, their customer support is extremely poor.
I e-mailed them them regarding my order how I didn't get a confirmation and later found out I mistyped my e-mail address. I accept my mistake, no doubt on that. Anyhow, it took them until next day to reply to my e-mail, I called their number and no answer, just answering machine. I leave a message, they don't call me back. I finally got fed up and called the owner and told him I have a complaint. His attitude was very poor about the whole issue. "We're too busy helping other customers". I wouldn't even have complained if they got back to me at the end of the day or at least apologized. Neither was done. I understand they may be busy, but if they can't offer same-day replies, they need to get more employees to answer calls then.
Bottom line is.. With that kind of poor service and attitude, I would rather pay the extra and deal elsewhere..."
"I am extremely dissatisfied with bestbyte.net. Yes, my entire order arrived on time, but the way they packed the box was horrendous.
I ordered a case and a cpu cooler. They used sealing tape to tape the cooler to the inside of the computer case box, which would normally be fine, except that my case had an acrylic window and now, even after using acetone, the tape residue will not come off of the acrylic window. In addition, the acrylic window had some small cracks, probably because the cooler had been banging around inside the case during shipping."
"Well, it looks like it¡¦s official. Best Byte bit meƒ¼. To the tune of $60.00+. A couple of months ago I purchased two PATA to SATA converters for a new system I¡¦m building. One arrived in a crushed worn looking box and the other one had already been opened and resealed with tape (anti-static bag slit and retaped). The one that had been obviously opened was dead (big surprise there) and the sealed one kept losing the hard drive at random intervals. These were the I2S adapters by the way.
OK, no problem, I¡¦ll just return them. Yeah, right. Trying to contact this company is a joke. Phone rings until voicemail picks up and most of the time it gives the message ¡§voice mailbox full¡¨ or else the message you leave is never responded to. I used the contact info form on their site numerous times as well as many e-mails to the posted address with only one response. Early on, ¡§Barry¡¨ replied that I ¡§needed to increase the drive detection time in bios and if that didn¡¦t work just send them back for a full refund¡¨. Well, I shipped them back and they¡¦ve had them for several weeks now with no response. E-mails, voice mails all go unanswered.
All this mind you after numerous previous orders going fine and arriving ontime and well packed. All my orders before however were fans, CCFL¡¦s and other small items. Thank God I never ordered a Main Board or power supply or other expensive item.
The moral of this story is if you have to deal with one of these half a**ed one horse operations, keep your orders small and for items too inexpensive to bother with returning if one is faulty. I hate to say this being a sixth generation Texan but if you order from an outfit in Texas you need to make SURE it¡¦s a decent size company and USE A VISA CARD to have at least some protection if they rip you off. Apparently all the scam artists that used to inhabit downtown New York have moved to Texas and set up shop. The local News as well as the Newspapers are constantly exposing the latest scam. God Bless the American way.
You¡¦ve been warned. BEST BYTE BYTES!!!!!!
This is my personal opinion to which I¡¦m entitled to at least for the time being."
"I ordered two Thermalright heatsinks (a AX-7 and a CB-6), Artic Silver III, a Thermaltake Smart Case Fan and a copper shim. All arrived within a week in perfect condition, I highly recommend this seller."
"Ordered on 9/1, a national holiday.
Shipped on 9/2 via ground! What 3-day wait? :)
Arrived on 9/5 via Fedex Ground (from Texas to Virginia)
Case wasn't dented, scratched; everything came in one piece. Got what I needed fast, even though after reading all the reviews here, I wasn't even expecting it at all.
Two thumbs up."
"Great service, purchased 3 yellow round ata133 cables for rock bottom prices and they were shipped out that same day, got them 2 days later. Awesome store. They sent me confirmation email and tracking info, was a joy to order from them. This is my second time to deal with them and I will continue to do so."
"I just wanted to say something nice about these people. I had found them through the Net and PriceWatch for when I wanted a Thermaltake Smart Case Fan II. They were the cheapest and there was a note at PM that said it would be free shipping.
Well, I placed my oder but it still rang up 50 cents postage for one item - not too bad and I wasn't unhappy. I received my fan and didn't think anything of it until a couple of days later when I say two quarters taped to the box!
I didn't begrudge the the 50 cents for postage, even though it was stated as free according to PriceWatch, but by their going that extra step and basically refunding me the 50 cents says a lot about their credibility!!!
Yes, the shipping is dependent on the USPS but I am very happy with their integrity!"
