"I have to admit I too almost put in my info until an admin on my website directed me to resellerratings. So as a service to my fellow internet users and most of all my forums members I made an order and somehow accidently scrambled my CC#'s. (So much for them having an actual SSL site and proper billing service) If the checkout goes good and I can actually purchase a 5d with 24-105 F/4 IS USM lens & 100-400 IS all for $3,279 (Canon Eos 5D Package #19) then hey, I have nothing to complain about. But what I will be prepared to do is record the conversations with this vendor and post the results on my website. I am furious as to the comments before me and since the BBB & FBI internet Fraud devisions aren't doing anything to shut them down I will personally contact my local news team with the results, If they are bad of course.
I will try my hardest to play the dumb role as to what the difference is between glass and plastic lenses, OMG!!!!! Stay tuned for updates."
"I placed an order on Sunday and cancelled the order on Monday morning after speaking with Nikon manufacturers directly. Bestpricecameras.com asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the metal from plastic version of the Nikon 18-200 lense. I had never heard of two different models, but wanted the better of the two. After the D80 body only, Nikon 18-200 lens, set of 3 filters, extra battery and a memory card for a total of $2,800+! Oh yeah, they also sold me a 5 yr warranty on the lense (which Nikon informed me that the lense already comes with a 5 yr warranty). So when I called them on it, they told me I was actually getting a 10 year warranty. I also never rec'd an email confirmation for my order (which I was told would be a bundle order since they were giving me all kinds of discounts and rebates). I was told that my credit card does not get charged until it ships....what a bunch of crap! They charged my account that very day for a partial amount of the total (which I don't understand). I told them to cancel the order and refund my money. They said there would be a charge, which I informed them that their website states all orders cancelled will receive a full refund! Now their trying to charge me over $300 for charges on items they did not even ship! Plus I had to listen to over 5 minutes of the MANAGER, Scott yelling at me along with many insults! The next day the salesman Tony, called me asking why I cancelled my order and I told him what the Nikon manufacturing company informed me of and boy did he try to cover himself with every excuse. Kept trying to get me a better deal and said I would have to pay over $6,000 anywhere else....well, let me tell you, I found a Nikon dealer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that had 1 Nikon 18-200 lense left. I bought the Nikon D80, 18-200 lense, 2 2gig HS memory cards, extra battery, set of filters, HB600 flash and a nice camera back pack all for about $2,300!!!! HMM, about $500 less than their great deal I wouldn't find elsewhere! PLUS my warranties are actually valid!! So now I am in the process of disputing their charges on my card to try to get my money back! WARNING!! DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH Bestpricecameras.com unless you want GRAY MARKET products!"
"same story as everyone else, I ordered a Canon 10-22 mm f3.5-4.5 lens and called to confirm. during the call I was offered an inferior sigma 12 - 24mm f4.5-5.6 lens that the salesman tried to tell me was a higher quality(and cost more). When I didn't bite, he told me the canon was on backorder and would not ship for a month. I didn't need it right away so I waited...and waited . After several calls and emails of getting nowhere, i contacted the BBB to complain. Best Price Cameras did nothing. I finally called to cancel my order. They never had any intention of sending me the lens for the advertised price, they just wanted a chance to upsell me or perhaps get a hold of my credit card info. Do not EVER order anything from Best Price Cameras!"
"I purchased package #14 of the Canon EOS 5D which was $1,689 plus and upgrade package which included a metal camera, 4GB Fast Memory Card, 5 Hr. Battery & Fast Battery charger, but I received a standard EOS 30D package which cost $1,069 though I paid $26,75!
They are THIEVES."
"Thank you to all my scammed predecessors for casting a light on this shady company and advising me on what to do: after my discomfort and suspicion led me to this website, I just cancelled my credit card before the charge was posted, about an hour after THE Confirmation Call. Usual story: my order for a Nikon D40 ended up costing more than double after all the "necessary" added items were pushed on me during that call--shame on me for letting the Mark salesman brush off my feeble protests and request for putting the order on hold for 24 hours while I would do some research... Among other things, he claimed that there were "only 20 minutes left" til the UPS shipment of the day, not to be missed despite my protests to the contrary. By then, he already had my card number and the verification code on the back.
Congratulations to all of you who have filed complaints with the relevant authorities. I count myself lucky but how many more victims is law enforcement going to need before acting on what they know?! "
"The store leaves fraudulent advertising on its website indefinitely. I placed an online order, then when it didn't arrive as expected I phoned them. They simply told me that the item (a DX80 body wasnot in stock until 6-8 weeks later.
Phooey!!!

"I placed the order for a Canon Rebel XTI on Friday and I didn’t get a confirmation email so I re-read the confirmation I printed after I gave them my payment info. It looked really suspicious it said all orders are subject for approval by the customer service department, they can adjust the order NOT LIMITED to tax and shipping???? So they can change my order I thought, so I waited for my confirmation email...never came. On the webpage their hours are listed as open on Sat but when I called they were not so I became worried and cancelled my card. Today on Sunday I called to inform them of my cancellation since you cannot cancel via email and after being on hold for 20 min the man was so rude. He asked why I was canceling and I said because I got nervous about no itemized confirmation, vague comments on the initial confirmation (which doesn’t even have an item listed) and wrong hours. I asked why he was being so rude to me and he said "I'm not being rude to you yelling is rude" and told me my reasons were not good enough to cancel and have I ever heard of a mistake before. When I replied he shouldn’t talk to customers this way he said I should be able to see it was just a mistake and to get over it, told me my order was cancelled and hung up on me! I have never been treated so rudely by a company like this, where do they get these employees and why are they still in business? I am so lucky I cancelled when I did I don't know what could have happened.
I wrote to the Better Business Burea of New York and recomend anyone with a simialr experience to do the same they need to be stopped.

"Ordered a new Pentax K10D camera body for $549. Rec'd e-mail from a Ken stating I needed to confirm the order. When I talked to Ken, he said I'd have to pay an additional $199 to get the contents of the box as the camera body did not come with the original contents. I told him to cancel the order."
"Tried to buy a Nikon D200 body only at the too good to be true advertised price. Customer service was unreachable so finally went to sales to confirm order whereupon they tried to sell me a number of additional items and when I didn't go for them told me the camera body would be available in six to eight weeks... I canceled the order. There was no e-mail follow up from the company and wait time on the phone was in excess of ten minutes for sales. "
"Ordered a Canon EF 70-300/4.5-5.6 IS ISM lens online. Got an e-mail to call and confirm my order. Talked to Mark who confirmed my order and asked for the security code on my credit card. After he got the code, he asked me if I wanted to upgrade to a metal lens mount for only $90. This lens only comes with a metal lens mount.
After he tried to sell me a few other upgrades, I got suspicious and asked to cancel the order. Doing a little more research, I found this web site and same story line repeated multiple times - cancelled my credit card just to be sure before any charges were applied.
I wouldn't buy from this outfit under any circumstances."
"When I called to confirm the price for a Nikon lens they told me it didn't include the mount, and wanted extra for a plastic mount or even more for a metal mount. The site is a sham, and I believe it may be the same as expresscamera.com.

"Problems with this company can be reported to:
Dept. of Consumer Affairs in New York or Attorney General of NY - Elliott Spitzer.
Here's my story: Bought a Nikon D200 from bestprice cameras since they were the only ones who had it in stock last August. They have high pressure sales tactics and make statements such as "Nikon does not include the battery with the camera and it is sold separately." (WTF) Since the merchandise was still below cost, I agreed to buy their "high quality" add ons (which I discovered were way below quality.)
I also discovered after purchase that the camera was a gray market item and not covered by any warranty - including the one they sold me. One of the items was defective (a cheap tripod that they labeled as "professional.") I got an RMA number to return it and used that number to return everything.
I contacted Bestpricecameras several times during all of this and was threatened, yelled at, and hung up on. Thought I had been smart by checking the link on their site (similar to reseller ratings.com) None of my negative postings every showed up but there sure were lots of positives. Hmmm quite a contrast from this site. It turns out that the link is fradulent and is still on their home page.
I Contacted Nikon and received verification that bestprice cameras sold me a gray market camera. I photographed the gray market camera with a legit one showing the differences and sent the photos (along with Nikon verification) to the Attorney General of NY, BBB, etc. I also contacted American Express and they did their own investigation. I’m happy to say that my credit card came through for me and I got a full refund (after showing verification that I had returned all items).
Out of curiosity, I checked their site today and still see the fraudulent ratings link. There is still an agency investigating them but bestprice (lol) cameras doesn’t seem to be too scared. I guess the only way they will go out of business (or be put in jail) is if everyone who purchases from them complains to the Attorney General of NY and similar agencies. Oh well, I got all my money back and have this opportunity to prevent some other person from being screwed by them.

"After placing an order for an $800 camcorder online, I was called and told I would have to buy a battery and charger (which of course come with the camcorder) and my Amex card would be charged $1200 dollars. I said I wanted to cancel the order and was told I couldn't because it was already sent! An obvious lie... What a ripoff. This place has no ethics whatsoever. "
"This is not a place to buy a camera kit!! I ordered a nikon d-80 and got a longer life battery and lens uv filters. I had gotten kits before and had no problems until I went to this site. I didnt get what I ordered and tried to call and was told Frank ext 272 would handle it. Frank was to call next day at 0900. No calls from him!!! I call every hour for 2 days and e-mailed also no answer. Finally got the hint this place is a rip off. They sale grey market cameras (NO NWARRANTY) and openly lie on the phone and on their site. I finally sent the stuff back and had them sign for it and called cc and am having account number changed. Told cc what has happened and they sent forms to disputed this charge. I didnt have their famous return number and figured they could just eat it. Also filed complaints with the FTC, Ny ag's Office and NY BBB. MY only hope is that more people will file complaints, and just cancel cc and sent the stuff back, and let them eat their restocking fees. Also DHL and UPS charge 1.00 per 100.00 to insure, so when this place charges 30.00 or more for insurance you are paying for their free shipping as it is free for them not you. Sorry I every heard of this place, and just keep complaing to everyone about them. Update/ I fought this company with the help of my credit card company for about 2 1/2 months, but was able to get a full refund. I am sending a report to New York City Consumer Affairs. If you have been taken by this company go to them also. Send a copy of nyc-bbb report and all info you can get it is worth the effort if we can get this company to pay for their poor business dealing. I wonder how many people either kept the stuff and said I will just eat it, or paid their over the top restockiing fee. Folks fight back againt a company that rips you off, and you might just win your battle.

"I ordered the Nikon D80 with the 18-135mm lens for 699. I called the next day because I had not gotten a email confermation. When i spoke to the sales rep he asked for my security code i gave it to him. Then he wanted ot know what battery I wanted, the 2 or the 4 hour, both of which were extra, a lot extra. I told him no then he wanted to know if I wanted the Malazian one or the English one. I said well the English one, he told me that, that would be an extra 400. I told him go screw yourself and cancel the order!"
