"BestPriceCameras.com is a COMPLETE scam. They are totally disruptable as this thread confirms, and will steal your credit card info. I received a call from my bank yesterday saying that my account had been "compromised", and I'd have to change my account number. I've never had this problem before, until I made an unfortunate purchase from these frauds.

The fact is I ordered my camera on their website for the $179 price (a Cannon Powershot A540 digital camera). They called me following that to pressure me into some kind “Deluxe Package Deal”, which I told them CLEARLY I did not want. What I thought was being sent to me was what I ordered on their website for $179. Period. However, I did become a bit suspicious later when they ignored my repeated requests (via phone and email for confirmation of my order, which they never sent.

But in spite of that what I finally received was this so-called, upgraded “package deal” (again, with NO previous invoice or any kind of acknowledgment confirming what I ordered).

So, now having some merchandise that I didn’t order (and was charged for) I tried to call them (23 times!!) to get a return merchandise authorization number. I called their customer service number (1-***-***-****) and also their Toll-free Assistance number (1-***-***-**** … which did answer but only referred me to calling their Customer Service number). I couldn’t even get through. After waiting on their line for 20 minutes or more (truthfully!) someone would actually answer eventually but then immediately hang-up! It was infuriating to say the least, but I kept trying with no success.

I’ve since filed a report with the Better Business Bureau in New York against BestPrice. I only wish I’d been of mind to look-up that information beforehand.

This company is in the business of ripping people off using low-ball and bait-and-switch techniques (which, is illegal in Washington State by the way). In my case, I didn’t even agree to any of their added “package deals” or succumb to their pressure tactics, but they apparently saw fit to charge me for that anyway. In my case, I didn’t even agree to any of their added “package deals” or succumb to their pressure tactics, but they apparently saw fit to charge me for that anyway. And, they flat-out will not allow anyone to make returns.

Companies like BestPrice should never be allowed to conduct business this way. This is unacceptable. If there's any sort of class action in the works that can be brought against these BestPrice.com scam "artists" that anyone on this thread is aware of, please let me know. I'm there.

"Avoid this seller like the plague! After youplace an order they call and start the hard sell telling the item doesn't come with the usually items because it's OEM. This is plain bull manure! Then after you cancel the order because you discover they are lying about everything, they ship the items, try to charge S/H, and claim not items were returned. These guys must be the biggest liers and crooks on the internet!!!"

"I ordered a Camcorder and received a confirmation with a order number. All is well right? NO!!!! Received a package 10 days later.
The package did not include anything I ordered. Look at the invoice and it is a completed different Order number. Look at the price.... They charge me an additional $300.00. Many phone calls later, I am disputing the charge. I have also filed a complaint with the NY State Attorney General. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone with a bad experience with this company to take the time to file a complaint. Below is the link to the NY State Attorney Gerneral online complaint form.

http://www.oag.state.ny.us/online_forms/complaint_alert.jsp

In closing do not order from this company.

"As the song says: "Everybody plays the fool sometimes. There is no exception to the rule."

Well it was my time and man did I fall into it hook, line and sinker. I actually found this sight the very day my order was to arrive. Not the order that I placed online. But the "Hey, I want to make you happy since you are a first time buyer with us order". In otherwords the "Chump Order".

My original order consisted of a Nikon D80 in a package that had a really good lens and a decent lens. Some extra goodies, but nothing major. The next day the call came from J&K camera's and to this day it was like a slow motion accident as I found myself not really thinking through what was being said and more focused on I want to get my camera. When all was said and done, I was supposed to have this great upgraded package including their best lenses. In truth, that didn't bother me, because I really did want better lenses to begin with, but was hesitant on spending too much money as this was my wife's anniversary present to me and didn't want to get greedy. However I figured I would just cover the extra cost as I would most likely buy additional lenses anyway.

Then the package arrived and as stated in many reviews, the package consisted of cheap stuff. The upgraded lenses turned out to be downgraded lenses. The horror of it all hit me as I began to research each piece in the package for their true retail value. So the battle began.

I called that day to get an authorization return. What I got was a big snow job. I wasn't prepared to deal with it at the time. The biggest piece of crock was they told me that my upgraded lenses had metal couplers as opposed to plastic. I was blown away by that arguement so much that I had to stop the conversation so I could actually go research this information. In doing so, I could not validate their claim to fame that there was a metal coupler version that was a far superior lens from the plastic coupler version to be a far superior lens to the one I original ordered. So back to the battlefield. The next day I was more prepared however I realized that my real compliant was with the lenses, so I told them I didn't receive the proper lenses and that I was returning the products. Which then I was told that I would have to pay a 15% restocking fee and $225 dollars in shipping and insurance. This is the point I started to lose it. I told him that I was not paying 15% only 10% as the invoice said. Which I was promptly told it says a minimum of 10%. Which it does, but I was in no way going to pay 15%. And then I told him that their invoice didn't show any charges for shipping or insurance. I pointed out that the website said shipping was free. He then told me the $225 was for insurance. Which I promptly told him that was an unreal amount of money to pay for insurance on a package and that we can call DHL to find out if insurance was on the package. Well this amount turns out to now be insurance from a third party and processing fee! OMG! The pain and the horror!

So I am at an impass. I calculated how much it would cost to return the items including shipping. What is the risk of getting the correct refund and how long can they drag it out? Other problems associated with that and I realize I am in deep waters with the current flowing hard. But I was not going to stop the fight. I told them I would dispute with the BBB and my credit card company. Then I was offered a solution. He would send me one of the original lenses I ordered for an additional $100 dollars. Are you kidding me? He actually wanted more money! Then it was finally free of charge. This lens retails for over $600. I accepted the offer and decided if the camera at least works, I manage to get something out of this mess. Finally, how many places do you know of that will offer a $600 anything as a settlement to your dispute that they are not being honest. Yeah I got robbed and the only way you will ever get any merchandise from this company is to fall into the same trap.

"I thought all was fine with my order. I had to call and confirm, and when I did I was told my camera would be useless unless I ordered extras (which were not included with my purchase). I declined to order any extras. I then await my delivery of my camera. BUT wait, it is not coming. Now it is not available unless I order it in a KIT!!! This is a BAIT and SWITCH S C A M. I was so disappointed. The price was too good to be true, and it was not true in the end. I sincerely hope this can help someone else. Now, I am researching other companies before I continue shopping for my camera.

"BUYERS LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!! CHECK OUT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU SITE BEFORE MAKING THAT "SOUNDS TO BE TOO GOOD" ONLINE DEAL. HERE IS THE BBB INFO ON THIS COMPANY:

Website: www.bestpricecameras.com

Additional Websites: www.infinitycameras.com, www.infiniticameras.com, www.mraccessory.com, www.regencycamera.com, www.hellocamera.com, www.beststopcamera.com, www.jandkcameras.com, www.eastcoastdistributor.com

Type of Business: Photographic Equipment & Supplies-Retail, Electronic Equipment & Supplies-Dealers

The information in this report has either been provided by the company, or has been compiled by the Bureau from other sources.

Nature of Business:
Complaints to the Bureau allege that Best Price Cameras engages in high pressure sales tactics and false claims in order to intimidate consumers into buying extra items while they are placing their original order. Reports allege that these extra items are usually not compatible with the camera and consumers are not given an exact total of all items at the time of purchase. As a result, consumers are charged for warranties, batteries and other camera accessories that they did not know they were buying and that were advertised on the website as being included with the camera. Consumers report that invoices from Best Price Cameras are not itemized so it is difficult to know what consumers are being charged for and it is very difficult to obtain a refund. Consumers also detail grievances with the company such as being lied to about order status, cancelled orders without notification, purchasing and never receiving a product, being charged in excess of their original purchase without their consent, and difficulty contacting the company.

Customer Experience:
Based on BBB files, this business has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau, because there is a pattern of complaints, and the business has not corrected the underlying reason for the complaints.

PEOPLE WHO GOT SCAMMED....DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES. FILE AN ONLINE COMPLAINT TO THE BBB SO THESE CROOKS GET WHAT THEY DESERVE!....I DID.

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I have been overcharged, mislead, and lied to. I ordered only a 60" TV and had a variety of items added to my order. They say they upgrade you to a retail pkg, whatever that means, and then charge you for items that in no way would not come with the TV. For example, a projection lamp. I cannot get a detailed invoice nor any resolution to the products sold in non truths and products not received. I highly recommend you file a complaint at the better business bureau if you are disatisfied."

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE (BEST PRICE CAMERAS.COM). THEY HIGH PRESSURE YOU THEN SUDENLY YOU NEED TO UPGRADE BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL ORDER IS JUNK. THEN THEY SUDENLY DON'T HAVE WHAT YOU ORDERED. BAIT AND SWITCH ALL THE WAY. THE GUY CALLED ME WANTING TO UP GRADE MY CANON LENSE BECAUSE THE ONES I ORDERED WERE MADE OF PLASTIC AND NOT GLASS. CANON SAYS THAT'S A LIE. I HAVE NEVER RUN INTO A BUNCH OF CROOKS LIKE THIS IN MY 15 YEARS ON THE INTERNET SHOPPING. CAN'T BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE. THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO THEIR BUSINESS."

"I was searching online for a specific model camera. Their price was much lower than the rest, so I placed an order on Thursday. I did not recieve any kind of confirmation so I called the following Monday to inquire. Their "customer service" guy started lying to me - telling me it didn't come with a battery so I would have to buy one for another $200. Then, he kept trying to sell me other extras until I told him enough. He would not sell me the camera at the advertised price unless I purchased extended warranty, battery, lens filters, etc... Every time I thought he understood that I didn't want these things, he would still add something to the order and lie to me again - telling me I had agreed to it.
He finally became very rude... told me I was wasting his time. Then, he said he was cancelling the order.

These guys are running a SCAM! They bait you in with a low price, then try to upsell with lots of extras. There's nothing wrong with "suggestive selling", but they go way too far with it.

If they refuse to sell a product at the advertised price it is advertising fraud. Why has the police not shut them down?

If a charge comes through on my credit card, I will press charges.

"I wish I had known about this site before I ordered from these clowns. I bought a Panasonic DVX100B camcorder from their website, which told me that it was a NEW ITEM, FACTORY FRESH, with FULL US WARRANTY. This morning I got an e-mail from "Richard," asking me to call in and verify my order. I did so, and he casually mentioned that the price I had paid ($1200.00) was only for the camcorder body (???), and that if I wanted the camera lens, microphone, manual, and battery, it would be *another* $1200.00 on top of the first $1200.00! Hardly sounds like a BRAND NEW package to me! I told him to cancel the order, and this Richard guy immediately began screaming and hurling insults at me, calling me a "noodge" (whatever that means), and saying "It's not a big deal, just buy the package!" in a tone that implied that I was an idiot for not cheerfully accepting this bait and switch SCAM. Avoid at all costs, these creeps are PIGS."

"I stupidly made a purchase from bestpricecameras.com and then found this website. Once I received the vague email of "Here is your order number please call us with any questions"
I canceled my credit card and sent them an email stating I wanted to cancel the order.

After reading the horror stories about phone calls from this company I called them first thing the next day. The first person I spoke with told me that I would have to call customer service on monday, only the sales department was open on sunday, and he promptly hung up on me. Go figure... I then called back and asked for Scott who has seemed to be one of the few "helpful" people from all of the stories posted. They said he wouldn't be in until monday and I should call back then. I didn't stop there, since they hadn't hung up on me yet I tried to see how far I could push them.

The man on the phone had already told me he was a salesman, so after throughly confusing him with a twisted conversation of "shouldn't customer service help people?!? and why are you not being helpful?. He said "I'm not customer service" Then I asked for Scott's home number. The man on the phone asked why I would call the man at home when he'll be in tomorrow. I said that I needed to get in contact with him. He again asked me why I would call a man that wasn't working that day, and I simply replied "why not?" At this point I could overhear him talking to a co-worker saying "She wants to have Scott's home number and call him at home!" They both sounded dumbfounded. I finished the call with "So I will call Scott tomorrow to confirm that my order was canceled. Thank you."

2 hours after that conversation, I checked my email and found this from Ken:

Subject: RE: Order From store1
Thank you for your recent order with us. The product you selected is currently not in stock. We will not be restocking it for another 6-8 weeks time. Your card has NOT been charged and your order has been cancelled. We will notify you via email as soon as we restock it.
Thank you,
Ken

I don't believe I will be harassing them anymore, seeing as how I am now waiting for a new credit card to come in the mail...and they probably think I'm some sort of crazy lady who is after Scott.

For all of you who have placed an order with these goof balls please cancel the credit card and get a new one. Don't wait until they charge tickets to Istanbul or some other foreign place on your card. Also, acting like a jealous ex-girlfriend seems to scare them too!

"I would echo the experience of others on this site. I am an experienced internet shopper and fell for the low price on bestpricecameras.com. I ordered a nikon 18-200 vr lens that has been hard to come by. I also received an e-mail to contact Victor about my purchase. After spending 30 minutes on hold and being transferred around I finally was able to speak to someone. He informed me that they didn't take Discover and that the lens actually wasn't in stock, contrary to what the web-site stated. By then I had read some of the feedback on the site and cancelled my order. So far they haven't tried to charge my card."

"NO THANKS TO BEST PRICE CAMERAS OR EXPRESS CAMERAS! DO NOT ORDER FROM EITHER!

I ordered a Nikon D80 (which was price very low, of coarse). I thought Best Price Cameras was different from the previous order I canceled with ExpressCameras.com the on May 9th, 2007.

I started reading the reviews and forums here which made me sick to the stomach to think someone could steal and have a conscious afterwards. Both companies gave me emails stating that they were "out of stock" of the item and that my credit card was not charged.

Today (5/10/07) I have canceled my Debit Card and requested that my order be canceled. No transactions have been made in my account by either company and I hope to keep it that way.

I would rather be without a debit card for 10 days than have BPCameras steal from my card annually.

THANK YOU Resellerratings.com. I have recently purchased from BHphotovideo.com and am extremely satisfied and with peace in my mind that I will not be stolen from.

NO THANKS TO BEST PRICE CAMERAS OR EXPRESS CAMERAS! DO NOT ORDER FROM EITHER!

"--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As a veteran internet shopper I hate to admit this but these guys took me in. I live in California and they are in Brooklyn so it is not economically feasible for me to pursue recompense.

I purchased a Nikon camera advertised "New, US market with full warranty". Then I was contacted by a sales person offering a number of upgrades and extended warranty. When I received the merchandise there were no upgrades and no extended warranty certificates. The invoice only priced a "Deluxe Camera Package", not the individual prices that I had written down. The price was about twice what I started with. When I went to register the camera body and lenses with Nikon they laughed at me, said it was "Gray Market" and no warranty, no one will repair it, even for a cash fee. "Gray Market" doesn't mean it's imported. All Nikons are imported. It means it was manufactured for a market other than the USA and of course Nikon USA won't have anything to do with it.

A wonder, the camera and lenses seem to work fine.

So you see, that really good price isn't. Hopefully you stay away from them. I wish I had.

Just as an addendum, these thieves cost me so much heartburn and stress I cancelled my AMEX card and got a new one. Hey J&K, sell my old card number, maybe your buyers will come visit you to get their money back.

"Yes, if you order nikon from jandk you will get grey market (imported) equipment. Yes, you will get a call to sell you extras, including service contracts. (Not a bad idea for grey market, but expensive) I ordered a nikon D-80 kit thru e-bay, and after the extra sales call, got the kit as described in about 8 days. The communication is horrid, the online info about your order is non-existent, and the feeling of panic after checking this site is palpable- however, the product is just as described in the ad, and works fine. You MUST read carefully, and not assume anything not explicitly stated, but with that in mind they provide what they say they will."
