"Remember the old saying, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Well I ordered a Nikon D80 w/18-135 lens and received an email confirming the order, but that they were out of stock of the items and would be 6-8 weeks before they would be shipped,if ever. There is no way to log on and view an order, nor does the confirmation email contain an invoice or any specifics about the order. Very suspicious. They did however acknowledge that they are not authorized nikon dealers. After several attemts to contact someone I was finally able to cancel my order (although it doesn't state what my order was in the first place). Makes me uneasy that there is someone out there like that with my credit card number. oh well, we'll see what happens. "
"I made a phone purchase last night THEN found postings regarding problems with this company. Called them this morning to cancel the order and was hung up on the first time. Then I called back and was transferred to a "supervisor" who would not ID himself. Very rude and asked me the same questions over and over. Said he cancelled the order so I called the CC company. Apparently, while I was on the phone they sent through an authorization! I called Best Price Camera back and spoke with Scott in billing and he said he would cancel the order (guess it wasn't cancelled before). AVOID this operation at all costs!!!"
"This is a bait and switch operation. Advertised low price on camera. Sent me an email saying I had to call to "confirm" order. Tried to up sell me, claimed model I ordered was not a retail model, did not include accessories which are included with model I ordered. I canceled order. Told them I didn't trust them."
"This store is a joke run by shady scammers from Brooklyn. I ordered my digital camera online and got an email asking to call them to confirm the order. To my big surprise I was told that the camera doesn't come with a battery and I had to purchase it separately. Then I told the cust rep that I wanted to cancel the order. He responded in a very rudily way wishing me a good day."
"I am embarrassed to have fallen for this; I should have checked the validity of this company first.
I ordered a Canon Rebel XT for $449. Following day got a call from sales rep to confirm order and to say that it did not come with a battery or recharger. This was an additional $280! I said cancel it. He said OK, that will be $136 for restocking, insisting that the camera was already shipped. I asked how that was possible as they were confirming my order, and do they drop ship each component individually? He said yes. Anyway, I got no where fast. I logged an issue with BBB, canceled the credit card payment and discussing a small claims case with an attorney friend."
"I can confirm the scamming problem with this company. The "customer service" rep says that my order was just for the "body" of a Sony HVR-Z1 and that no other parts would be coming with my order. Fortunately, I found this website thismorning and was able to put a hold on my Amex card before they processed any charges for the 2 cameras I ordered. The rep said there would be a 17% "cancellation" fee to which I said try and charge that chump....he said they would send a bill to my house...I told him I would come pay it personally...with some southern hospitality...if you know what I mean."
"I ordered photo equipment online 9/16/06 for a total of $964.00. I called Best Price Cameras on 9/18/06 to check on delivery status and shortly thereafter received an email from sales. The sales person proceeded to sell me on an upgrade to the online order for a total price of $1600 including tax and UPS “orange” shipping to ensure arrival by Friday 9/22/06. Shipping by Friday was crucial to have the camera for an event that weekend. I agreed to the total price of $1600 pending the receipt of the list of items and model numbers in an order confirmation along with shipping verification to receive the items by Friday 9/22/06. I verbally asked for the model numbers, particularly of the lenses, on Monday 9/18/06 and also sent an email on the same day to the sales person asking for the order confirmation with items and model numbers listed. After not seeing any confirmation on Tuesday 9/19/06, I again called sales and asked for the order and shipping confirmation. Since it was apparent the order was not being handled appropriately, I finally asked sales on the phone to cancel the order and followed up with an email also asking for cancellation but the sales person indicated the products had already shipped and could not cancel the order. I asked how it could have shipped without my confirmation of the items ordered but did not offer any explanation. The sales person indicated the packing list with model numbers would be sent out by Wednesday. At this point I was very concerned, since I wasn’t sure what was being shipped and was already charged. I didn’t receive confirmation until late Thursday about UPS shipping but still no confirmation of the items that were ordered. Only then, I learned the "unknown" items would not be received until 9/26/06, after the time I needed it for the photo event I needed to attend. So I again called sales and they said the shipping cost difference would be refunded, but it doesn’t in any way pay for this important event that was missed. I gave them clear warning that if the packing list didn’t agree with what was ordered, and expected to be delivered, I would dispute the charges. It was very discouraging, since I was told it had already shipped Tuesday for delivery by Friday and didn’t find this out until it was too late this wasn't true.
When I received the shipment on 9/26/06, it was not as expected based on the conversation with sales. The 2GB high-speed card was a x40 instead of a x60 speed. In addition the two Tamron lenses were not any better than what I had ordered online originally before the "upgrade." After researching the model numbers of the items received, the two Tamron lenses could be purchased from other online dealers for ~$220 instead of ~$600 indicated by the sales person on our phone conversation. Therefore, the $300 over charge was due mainly from the Tamron lenses but gave them $80 benefit of the doubt, asking for only $300 over charge. I left a voice mail for the sales person on Wednesday 9/27/06, that the order was not as expected and was overcharged for what was received. I asked the sales person to call me back and discuss the shipment and charges but the call was never returned. As can be seen from the above, there was much communication about this order without resolve. On 12/13/06 I spoke to the customer service person as provided in the letter from Best Price Cameras based on the charge dispute letter. They would not accept my claim that the order was charged without my approval of the items shipped. Customer service basically kept repeating that all items were received on time which was incorrect, they were received 3 days late. Items were received, but not the quality expected based on the phone conversation with the sales person. Customer service also disregarded any conversation I had with sales because they said sales is not in the customer service department. Apparently, this cannot be resolved since customer service cannot acknowledge anything that happens in their sales department or anywhere else in the company.
I would never order from this company again. Not only did they ship and charge my card without my approval of the items being shipped, they promised shipment by a deadline that was missed by 3 days without any refunds. The items shipped were not what was discussed with the sales person but they charged my card anyway and refused to discuss the matter.

"Thanks to this website I discovered my mistake before it was too late. I ordered a Nikon lens. The website said it was 'in stock,' eventhough I knew this lens was in short supply. No other seller had it in stock, online or bricks and mortar. Yet these guys offered it at a lower price. I got suspicious and did a little checking. I found many complaints against "Best Price Cameras" including an 'unsatisfactory' rating with the BBB.
So I canceled my credit card.
Funny thing is, I never heard from Best Price Cameras again. It's been five days since I placed the order, you'd think they would have contacted me when the credit card charge was refused. Do you think they figured out I had 'found them out?'"
"After reading all of the negative reviews here, I decided to give these guys a call just to see what would happen. I have been looking for the Sony HDR HC7 and they had it on their website at $699.00, about half of what everyone else is selling it for. After a brief wait time, I got through to someone and began questioning him about the unit and the "packages" available. He said that none of the packages included the battery charger which had to be purchased for $299.00. I then asked him what was included for the $699.00 and he said "just the camera". So I asked him if they unboxed the camera from its original packaging and removed all of the accessories that came with it, becuase the battery charger should be included in the original box. There was about a 5 second pause, at which time I said "Thank you, that's what I needed to know" and hung up.
What a friggin' scam! These guys give online retailers (and New Yorkers) a seriously bad name. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!"
"Seems like I had the exact same problem as tberna below. Please do not make the same mistake as I did. I'm a college student studying design and was planning on buying the panasonic dvx100b. I had originally intended to buy it from b&hphoto but then came across bestpricecamera.com which was advertising it for more than a thousand dollars less than any other website. Rather than being alarmed as I should've been I was ecstatic at the notion of saving over a thousand dollars. I had bought their most expensive package which seemed to come with an amazing amount of accessories and was STILL under the price of other sites. I entered all my information and than thought I had bought it off the site. A few days later I recieved an email only containing an order number and directions to call customer service. I called and then he told me that the camera I had bought was a WHOLESALE camera because they are wholesalers and it did not come with a battery, the required software(which according to panasonic, does not exist), and required wires for this camera to even function. He then told me I had to pay 2500 dollars for the camera that actually did work and was going to charge 3100. I then became very apprehensive, and told him that I wanted to cancel my order; and that I would call them back after comparing with other places. He then told me if I called back in 30 mins that all their cameras would be sold out...as if. I then called american express and told them to flag the next pending order as fraudulent. After I had done this, I called bestpricecameras back, and told them that I was no longer interested and to go through the cancellation, and that I wanted a cancellation number. He then told me that they had already processed already for the price of 2500 dollars and acted like he was giving me a discount from the 3100 he initially was going to charge me. I guess in an attempt to justify the action of charging my card, the man I was talking to told me that they were authorized panasonic dealers. He then told me if I wanted to cancel there was a 10 percent cancellation fee. The website only talks about a 10percent restocking fee. Seeming as it had only been a couple hours since I had initially talked to them, it doesn't seem possible for them to have even touched the camera, let alone send actually send it out. I told them that a restocking fee isn't viable in the context of the situation. He then gave me some reasoning that I was not interested in hearing. It seems like American Express has opened up an investigation on my behalf, for the incoming pending charge by best bestpricecamera. I just found out today that they have sent me the order through UPS, but I plan to return to sender and not accept it. I hope someone with some greater legal power comes across all these complaints and seeming already numerous open investigations on this company and takes some legal action against these horrible people.
ps
I called panasonic and asked them for a list of online authorized dealers, and I was told that their are not many online authorized panasonic dealers and that bestpricecameras.com is definitely not an authorized dealer of their products.

"Please!!! Don't make the same mistake that I did!!! I wish that I had found this site on February 27th. We have been looking for a camcorder for our daughter, the Sony HDR-HC7. It is generally priced around $1300, so when we found it for $999 we were ecstatic. I normally only buy from companies that I am familiar with; but for such a great price, I thought that we would give them a try. I had some questions so I called sales (waited for over 20 minutes - that should have been my first sign) and spoke with Vic. There were some packages that they offered in addition to the cameras and I wanted to know some more specifics. When he was finished explaining I told him that I only wanted the camera. He then informed me that this product did not come with any of the expected box items (battery, charger, etc.) and that I would have to purchase them. He said that they had a great deal in their pro catalogue - all glass filters, pro telephoto lens, wide angle lens, Sony battery, speed charger, DV rewinder (that is all I can remember) for $1699.99. I am not quite sure how it happened but I said ok. He then informed me about the addition $100 shipping charge (even though expedited shipping was supposedly free). I started to pull in the reins and he graciously offered to remove some of the items to make up for the shipping charge. He asked that I make the initial purchase online and then he would make adjustments to it (this should have been tip off number 340). I made the initial order and then he said that I would receive the camera in 3 to 5 days. I continued to check my email for a product list and never received one. I did receive a confirmation order that only had the order number on it. I tried to call to find out exactly what I ordered but I could only get a hold of the Sales department and they told me that I had to contact customer service which had limited hours. I tried to email but never received a response; I continued to try to call but only got the sales department and since I was not buying anything they became extremely rude (they told me that I needed to figure out how to tell time so that I could call customer service and not them). I tried to cancel the order but it was already shipped. I got very nervous so I call American Express but since I authorized the charge I could only open a case on them. I also contacted the Better Business Bureau of NY (I am waiting to hear back from them). I refused the shipment. On the day of the shipment (I was at work), I finally got a hold of Scott from customer service. He was SO rude and disrespectful and arrogant. I am embarrassed that I made this purchase. I am hoping for a good outcome. I know that they received the package back today and I still have not heard from any of my correspondence. We ended up buying another camera for our daughter (she is going to be majoring in film and needs it to complete her projects - our last camera just died), however we went for the bare minimum because (without knowing what is going to happen) we cannot afford anything else. I am disappointed because I really wanted to get this camera and now because of my mistake we had to go with something much less."
"Ordered Canon rebel XT with kit lense for little over $400.
Received a confirmation letter with nothing but order #.
Tried to call them to verify my order during their business hour but could not talk to anyone for 30 min.
Then I received an email saying my order has been back ordered which wil take about 7~8 weeks.
I felt something was definately wrong and did little research and found out that this company is total scam.
They did not take any money but I had to cancel my card and get a new one after hearing horror stories about them.
I cancelled my order via email and phone. Of course I did not get any reply on email confirming my cancellation but I had a chance to talk to one of the customer service representatives. Fortunately he was not very rude about cancelling the order.
I consider myself lucky."
"If something appears too good to be true -- it usually is. I know better than to be caught in a scam, but this company very nearly victimized me. I ordered a Nikon D2Xs body on a Friday afternoon using a Mastercard. As soon as I got the order confirmation, I noticed there was no listing of merchandise, no amounts or charges listed. This was a wide-open red-flag for fraud. I tried to call the company only to find the office "closed" and available the next day. I researched and found this website, and it sent chills up my spine. I awoke at 0430 California time and promptly cancelled the credit card... after making SURE no charges had been posted. Then I sent them an email cancelling the order. I feel incredibly lucky that I got to my credit card before they did. I don't know if Best Price Camera is operating illegally by their practices, but if they're not, they're darn close. Don't be victimized by this company. Don't deal with them. Don't give them a chance to steal from or manipulate you. Avoid them like the plague and pray that a catastrophe awaits them and all their aliases. They are representative of the very worst characters of American "business." They are thieves and users. I will never venture away from B & H Photo-Video again. That company is golden."
"I wish we would have found this site BEFORE we purchased from these liars! We purchased from JandKcameras.com and "J and K" really fits them because in electronics, J and K stands for a "flip-flop". It REALLY suits them! We found them selling on eBay under jandkcameras and called their phone number to ask if we could get the camera with faster shipping. They said they could take our order over the phone. So we placed the order after the salesman insisted the bayonet for the lens was metal (our previous camera broke due to a plastic bayonet). After placing the order, the salesman called back trying to get us to upgrade to an extended warranty and other unneccessary ad-ons. He claimed that Canon only gives you a 30 day warranty and it would cost us $1,250 from Canon just to clean the camera during the extended warranty period if we had to pay for it ourselves. He said the camera we were purchasing wasn't very reliable (Canon 30D), but all the reviews I read said it was very reliable. My wife gave the phone to me and I grilled the guy until he he almost cancelled the deal, but an agreement was reached and we waited for our camera. We received the camera with a plastic bayonet on the lens and the ad-ons are worthless junk. Most of them we will throw or give away. Also, the warranty card from Canon says 1 year, not 30 days. We were actually thinking about buying a macro lens from these crooks, but after reading all the reviews and numerous aliases they have, we went to B&H Photo instead. Hopefully, we will not incur extra charges on our cc from this mishap. I am monitering it just in case. Thanks to places like this site, maybe others will be spared a misfortune. We Googled their address and found this link which has another alias, EnterprisePhoto.com in case you want to see who you are buying from:

Actually, this location is 100% improvement from their previous location of 1938 McDonald, which isn't saying much!

"They are RUDE, LIARS and SCAMMERS. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I tried to purchase a Nikon D80 online and was given a call back the next day insisting not to get the lens I wanted, but to get a "much better" lens that would cost me much more. Additionally, I was told that the camera does not come with a battery and it would cost $350 for one. I've been placed on hold for 30-40 minutes only to get hung up on. Finally when I went through to cancel my order, I have never had such a rude customer service representative talk to me. I asked for a confirmation number and he would just tell me "don't worry everything is taken care of" I insisted on one and I was given a phony "HSCAN" for a confirmation number. I've had friend that tried to order a camera from them before and after he was billed was then notified for a 6 month backorder. He called to cancel and only received more foreign charges. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. IF YOU GAVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, CANCEL OR CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY."
