"I intended on ordering from this as I was so pleased to see the "BIG" savings on what I wanted and how it was listed on other sites. I called to get more information about the particular model of Camera "kit" they were advertising and the customer service/Tech?whatever person kept cutting me off. When I mentioned I was so surprised at how much of a savings they could offer they guy replied:that is because we are good" and then hung up on me!!
I was floored!!! thninking this a mistake or accident, I called back and got a man on the phone who was a little more polite but would not give me specific information or answers to my questions. I finally h/u unsure if what I wanted was possible.
I had compared merchandise at B & H and went to there website again but the prices were so different, I was still going to shop at Bestprice cameras...until I googled them and found this site.
THANK YOU LORD!!!!!(and I am not a religious person by nature) This site has probably (based on the reviews) saved me time, money, and headaches because I don't have to fight with someone or get h/u on or yelled at again. I don't have to cancel my credit card or worry about being charged 1500.00 for something I did not want and tried to cancel..
this site rocks!!!"
"I ordered a lens, and then got an "icky" feeling because it was so darn cheap. I Checked around. Found this site. Immediately called to cancel. After voicemail hell, and getting transfered from rude person to person, I told them that my "tweeker nephew" had stolen my card and was charging stuff. That seemed to invoke sympathy and they got real friendly and cancelled my order. I guess the scumbags could relate to having criminals as relatives. I then called my bank and cancelled my card. I would rather go a few days without the card then spend the next few months watching my bank statement and being all nervous and anxious. Thanks for everyones warnings !"
"Same Scam. Ken, had me call him to verify the order. He then proceeded to put me on and off Hold while i was talking and like he had no idea.
He tried to say the 419 package i ordered does not come with a battery, charger, software or FIRMWARE! (that was an extra 200) No firmware on the camera!! Gimmie a break! I said 'in that case i want to cancel my order' He hung up in about .0000023 of a second after i said that. I went to B&H and asked the live help how i can trust them. They pointed me here. I then looked up bestpricecameras and what i saw shocked me. I immediatly canceled my debit card/credit card. I check the online account of mine and nothing had been charged. Thank God I got to cancel the card before this fraud company charged me anything.
They have an address listed in NYC in Brooklyn. Somebody should do something about them....."
"WOOOOFFFFFFf
I am almost about to purchase an SLR CAMERA>>
I did not feel good when i called them, the phone answerers were very rude. I searched for "bestpricecameras".rating and costomer statisfaction and thanx god i found it. I wonder howcome they have all that good rating in their website.
I think we should do something about them and stop them from fooling people."
"I had an order number 1657909, which I cancelled.
I ordered a Canon professional series lens and wanted overnight delivery.
2 business days later, a rep from the BestPriceCameras.com calls and first thing tries to get me to agree to the inferior Sigma lens. He told me it was just as good, actually better, for the camera I have (Canon Digital Rebel XTi).
I told him it isn't, said I wasn't interested and asked how long it would be until I got the lens I ordered.
He said 3 weeks.
I said that won't do and I want to cancel my order.
He said, "Fine, not a problem." - and hung up on me! No confirmation that the order has been canceled, not a goodbye, sorry we couldn't help you, and all that nice stuff a good company that wants to keep customers does.
I tried to call the number that my Caller ID said called - it was a bad number.
I called the customer service number and talked to a guy there who sounded slightly nicer, but still a weasel. He confirmed who I talked to and that the order had been canceled.
Then I asked to speak to the first guy's manager.
The manager made no apologies. I accused him of bait-and-switch. He had no defense. I told him about the above rudeness. His reply was "That's weird. Chris has been with us for years and we've never got a complaint about him."
It is obvious from 5 minutes of interaction with these people that all they want is to speak to suckers they can pull their crap on. As soon as they get someone who is on to them, they get rid of them as soon as possible.
Don't! Don't! Don't do business with this company!

"Had a feeling that they were playing a bait and switch but decided to give them a try. Placed the order on 1/2/2007. Called on 1/3/2007 as their e-mail suggested. Was told it was being processed and would be confirmed shortly. As of 1/4/07 No information, so e-mailed. Got a reply saying to call in. Called in and got the upsell routine. When I declined, they confirmed the order details and the ship method - wanted overnight. After "checking" the system it won't be available for a few weeks.."Would that be a problem?" he asked. When I said yes, he hung up. TERRIBLE COMPANY"
"I called to order the Sony HVR-A1 after finding the great price online. After waiting 5 minutes, a sales person named Rick answered. I wished him a "Happy New Year" and he responded that it was now the 3rd. Off to a great start. I asked the usual questions about product availability, advertised price, new in box etc. After I had turned down all the offers of expensive upgrades, Rick gave me a total cost of $621 over the advertised price. I asked for a breakdown and the first item that I had to buy was a power cord... $199... I mentioned how suprised I was that Sony didn't include a power cord. Rick insisted during the entire conversation that The cam does not come with a power cord. Rick then started to clue me in on a great deal he could offer me by stepping down to the 3rd tier package. After I had turned down all of his bait and switch he stopped talking and asked me, "What are you going to do?"
I had already given my card info and address so, I politely said sorry, and that I would just have to keep shopping.
I just got off the phone with my bank. I canceled the card. I just really have a bad feeling."
"This company is a bait and switch company. The price quoted for the Sony HDR-SR1 was $1249 with free shipping. I got a call today and the price had gone up by more than $200. The price quoted was for just the camera. None of the normal accessories that come in the box (battery, charger, etc) were included and if I wanted them, the price was 1499. Stay away! I canceled my order!"
"How come everyone here says this store sucks and everyone at http://www.ratingsplanet.com/merchant_rating.asp?merch_id=***-***-**** Ratings Planet says it's great?"
"I had the same experience everyone else has had with bestpricecameras - I'm so sorry I didn't find this website sooner! Same bait and switch routine, and same pushy salesman who gave me the "we don't normally do this - but I'm going to give a a great deal" routine, only to quote me double what I'd initially agreed to pay. Two hours after placing the order I had a bad feeling and did more internet research and stumbled on this website. I immediately called to cancel and was told the order had already shipped (which was a lie, because UPS did not even pick it up until the ext day - I received the confirmation). The guy got EXTREMELY rude with me and said "we can do whatever we want - we could charge you $10,000 if you agree over the phone and you'd still have to pay it." These guys don't care about being reported - and it obviously doesn't do much. I'm refusing the shipment and have already filed a dispute with Amex (always use your Amex - they have your back). I don't know how these people sleep at night. They are the scum of the earth."
"I placed an order for a Sony HC96. I received an email from them asking to call them to confirm my order. When I called, I was told that the camcorder would come w/o cables, charger, remote control, etc. and that I could "upgrade" for another $100 or so. I told them that based on all the web sites I checked these were "included accessories". I also asked them what was the name of the package/kit they were referring to. None of the kits offered on their web site listed charger, remote control, etc. They said that this was a different package not listed on the web site. At this time, I asked for my order to be canceled... they said "ok, no problem." and then hang up on me.
When I saw all the bad review on resellerratings.com I called my credit card company and canceled my credit card altogether. It seemed obvious that blocking charges from bestpricecameras.com would not be enough. These folks are thieves plain and simple. They would have no qualms about charging my card under a different name. Also, I didn't want them to ship the order and have to dispute it (which is much harder to do once the product has been shipped). I just wish I had checked the reviews before placing the order. I found that site on Froogle and the site wasn't reviewed so I figured at least it didn't have any bad review. My mistake and stupidity....
Good luck to everyone else."
"I ordered a Sony VPL-VW50 online it was priced at 3169.00 so I thought what a graet deal 2000.00 below what Sony is selling it for. They sent me a E-mail saying I need to add a lamp warranty from Sony and insurance for shipping the the price was 4670.00. So I called Sony and the do not sell lamp warranty. They also make you buy shipping insurance. Sony claims Best Price is not authorized Sony dealer. So I tried to cancel the item by email but they do not except email to cancel orders. So I tried to call for thre weeks being put on hold for hours and pushed around to other sells persons. They sent something to me but I refused it at the door. You cannot cancel a order once placed. They charged my card and after 2 months they charged back only 3999.00 and refused to charge back 671.00 claiming restocking fee insurance fee custom order fee after 3 month I have not got back my 671.00 and dose not look good for me. They are a bait and switch company boiler room and complete thieves. If you want to get your money stolen from you order from them. Read the retun policy.
Stay away form this boiler room company that dose not have any stock of any product. Scam Scam Scam "
"Total rip off. I placed an order for a Canon Xti package. I got an email saying I needed to call and confirm my order. When I called, they asked me what battery I wanted. I said "I want whatver battery comes with the camera". They said it doesn't come with one. If you want a battery, it will be an extra $139 for a 2 hour battry or an extra $169 for a 4 hour battery. I told them that was insane and to cancel my order. I got an email confirmation about an hour later confirming the cancellation. A week later, they charged my card anyway. On the same day, there were also 2 unauthorized charges to my card that I suspect were them. I ended up charging them back and cancelling that card so that they could not make any more charges. "
"I recently ordered a Canon PowerShot G7 digital camera from BestPriceCameras.com for $419. After I submitted the order, I received an email telling me to call Harvey (extension 286) at Best Price Cameras to confirm the order. I did so, and he proceeded to talk me into getting the 5-year warranty, 2GB high speed memory card, high speed charger, and long life battery for an additional $430. When I got the delivery in the mail, I found he had sent me a standard speed charger, standard life battery, and standard speed memory card. When I called to tell him there had been some sort of mistake he proceeded to argue with me and tell me that if the charger really did not charge in an hour and a half and if the battery did not last 4 hours then I should call him back and he would send me a new one. Well, I contacted Canon directly and they told me there is no such thing as a high speed charger or long life battery. When I tried to resolve the issue directly with the company, the manager yelled at me and so rudely offered me a lousy $40 credit and said "If I were you I would snatch this up real quick!" I accepted it as partial compensation because it was better than nothing, but even that credit was NEVER applied to my credit card. I am now having to dispute the charge with my credit card company and I am definitely filing complaints with various consumer advocate organizations over this mail order fraud. I've found multiple websites with scam reviews on this company, and I'm surprised this company has been in business for 7 years - so they say. But is it really the truth? This is a classic bait and switch company. I debated over whether or not to keep the camera and just learn my lesson because I really do love the camera, but after all this I rather take my business elsewhere and pay more for the camera if I have to. This place doesn't deserve anyone's money, and I hope one day no one else gets scammed and has to go through this.
PLEASE STAY AWAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!"
"I placed an internet order with these crooks for a Canon EOS 5D camera body, a Canon lens, and a flash unit. They proceeded to call me in an attempt to bait-and-switch me into paying about twice the amount for the camera. When I refused to bite on their scam, they told me that I would have to pay a $350 cancellation charge (even though they didn't have the camera in stock, and hadn't actually entered the order). At that point they agreed to "cancel" the order". Fearing fraudulent credit card charges, I have just cancelled my credit card. I can't believe that this "organization" is allowed to continue scamming their customers.
Advice: Buy from a high profile, reputable company like B & H Photo. They are the real deal. Use this website to check out any other business that you are not familiar with."
