I placed an order from best price camera for a lumix dmc-fz50!! I recieved an email from them telling that they recieved my order and to allow 2 days to process and that my card would not be charged until they ship!! what concerned we was the fact that the email in no way was a receipt of purchase but instead an blank check for them!!! They state that the final price may vary based on shipping charges etc...B/S!!! I did some looking on the BBB's website and found that they are not in good standing with the BBB. In fact they have had over 300 complaints filed against them in the last 12 months or so. Then I found this website and my stomach dropped.....I called my bank to cancel my card and to make sure no charges had posted yet!!! No charges, THANK GOD!! Canceled the card and my bank issued me a new one. I'm glad I found this website when I did....saved me from a huge headache!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST....PAY MORE FOR THE ITEM ELSE WHERE!!!!!"

"I ordered the sony HDR-SR1 camcorder and a pkg#1 on December 1st, 2006 with order #1565371 costing including shipping about $1100. The shop never sent me invoice with the price except e-mail conmfirming the order. But it can be checked from their website that the price information is correct. On Tuesday, December 5th, their sales person Chris called me and asked me to buy Super batter charger and 4 Year warrenty. As I am in a meeting I said "Yes". Within an hour I realized that it is unreasonable to pay $199 for a battery charger (typical cost is $50) and Warranty ($149), called and cancelled both the items and asked them to ship just camera and pkg#1 and charge only the the orgional invoice price which is about $1100. The person who took the cancellation said it will be adjusted before shipment.

When I received the shipment, the shop has charged $1634 and no itemization costs and no super battery charger in the shipment either. It is almost double the cost of the camcorder itself.

The invoice says it is a presidential pkg which is not being sold on the web site, probably made up just for this invoice. From invoce I see the pkg is just a camera+pkg1+4 yr warrenty. The order number on the invoice is changed to #97039.


I am asking them to credit the extra $500 charged to my credit card. I didn't find the 4 Yr warrenty card in the pkg at first. I found it now and I will return it, as I didn't order it. There is no super battery charger in the pkg or on the invoice or on the web site. I think it is just made up to come up with some arbitrary price. The items anyway I look at, don't add up to the pric as the camera price is $969.

I e_mailed customer service on Decmber 8th, called the customer service on December 10th, and spent about an hour waiting or getting transferred to resolve this, but of no use.

I filed complaints on BBB of New York, FTC, and others. I am surprized how these outfits are able to run business for 7 yrs (they claim).

I received no confirmation so I called them to see if they had received my order.
They had but they told me that I would need to buy an extra lense as the one that

I told the 'person' that I didn't need this. He told me that my camera would be 6 days
to deliver. I had paid the extra $50 to receive my camera within 2 days and I told him this.
He started to shout at me saying that it was six days. I said, yes, but I have paid
extra for quick delivery. He then really shouted saying, do you want this or not?
(I remained really calm which irritated him) I said that I wanted it within
2 days as I had paid, he shouted at me and said, I am cancelling your order
and he hung up the phone on me.
Unfortuantely, I only read all your reviews after I placed my order. Having seen what these
criminals do, (i.e. use our credit cards for overseas purchases), I have cancelled my card.
A total inconveinence but I'd rather be safe than more sorry.

"This company is a fruad! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE! Apon sales man comfiming my order, I realized I was being scammed. He told me I would have to buy $300 worth of accessories for my lens to get it asap or it will be 6-8weeks before i would receive my lens. I then cancelled my order. Two weeks later to my surprise, I had some overseas charges to my card. Had to cancel my card and dispute $700 in overseas charges. "

"Hello I'm a Moron...

I knew it was to good to be true. I did not even follow my own advice to others of investigating a site before buying. Mostly b/c the site was well presented. Anyway I order a camera about 2 hours ago... They told me that the camera would need a 2 hour or 4 hour battery. I did not realize it needed a special battery...but to me I rationalized it as... OH that is why it so cheap. Well then I went ahead and ordered it. The red flag went up for me when I asked when I could expect it to be delivered with 3 day select. HE says "when do you want it delivered and I'll make it happen".

SO long story short...looked at this site about 2 hour too late. Made a call to my credit card company and told them what this site had to say about the vendor and they put a note on my account for the amount that should be expected and will automatically cancell and out of country purches until they get a verbal consent from me. I will post again once the story unfolds. I was told that I could not contact them to cancell an order until tomorrow between 11 and 6.

What a night mare...I am having visions of $500 flushing down a toilet.

Ordered Infocus IN72 Projector. After no action, I called. They told me I needed to order a bulb, one didn't come with it. Knowing this unit, I called BS. They then said it did have a bulb, but it would only last 100hrs. Again, BS. After refusing to order another buld, they angrily told me delivery would take 4-6 weeks. When I told them to cancel the order and asked for a cancellation #, they hung up on me.

"Scam, Purchased camera at price listed on website for 419.00 billed $629.00 said difference was retail package. Retail means it comes in a box with manuals and CD. What a rip. I also had unauthorized charges to my credit card from Italy, as some other customers have. This company goes by several names, beware. I like my camera but would have paid more to deal with a trust worthy company. I finally had to cancel my credit card to stop unauthorized charges. The NY Attorney General should look into this operation"

"Thank you to everyone who puts posts on this site! I recently placed an order through best price cameras. The lens I was looking to order was cheapest on this site. This site happened to be the first google hit as well which is why I chose it. Shipping dates were between four and six weeks which is not in time for the holidays, probably because I refused the ridiculous overpriced accessories. B&H is a place I trust to order from and called to see if they would price match. A helpful service associate there told me about this site. After reading all the helpful reviews I quickly canceled my credit card and canceled my order. Thanks to the people on this site and B&H I was spared from writing another horror story about Best Price Camera.

After my order was canceled, I had gotten the name of the rep from best price camera, and recorded my order number I decided to confront them. I politely stated that I was canceling because I had heard over one hundred bad experiences from credit card fraud to overpricing to bad products. The sales associate responded by cutting me off saying, “It’s not even worth my time, your order is canceled.” I said that because he was in customer service he may like to know about dissatisfaction. He didn’t. Upon trying to say people suspected the company of credit card fraud he again said that it wasn’t worth his time and hung up on me.

I was spared the gory details of a bad experience with credit card charges but just the customer service left a bad taste in my mouth. Thank you again to the people who take time to comment on this site and for the B&H representative who lead me here."
