"I ordered Nikon D80 with 18-70mm Nikon lens with a price, about $800. What I experienced was the exactly same as what everyone else experiened here. A guy, named Chris, contacted me to confirm my order, and he asked me to buy batteries, charger and warranty. I asked 2 batteries and a charger, but not warranty. The items came in a week and what I ordered exactly, but the camera was for Japan market. Also the manual was a photo copy of a US manual. Of course, warranty did not come with the camera. And also, they charged $1987 for this purchase on my credit card.

Now, one month past from the order, my credit card got an unauthorized charge from MERIDIANA, Airline company in Italy. Someone mentioned a similar thing here, but I was convinced it was really true. I have just asked my credit card company a despute for this transaction now. I am just wondering why they can keep their bussiness for such a long duration.

"I placed order for a Nikon D50 on website which was good price. I received call asking what battery and charger I wanted to purchase (for over $300). I told them I didn't need a battery or charger then customer service person said he would cancel the order and hung up on me. I called back to the same number and it came up as a disconnected number. I called the phone number that was on the site and got transfered to the same rude person telling me that they didn't have the camera without those items and couldn't sell me what I ordered. When I questioned this policy he became more rude. My order was cancelled and not long after I receive a call from the fraud unit of my credit card asking if I had charged items to a cosmetic company for $500+ and internet charges in NIGERIA. I had not and my card was subsequently canceled and reissued. Not only are they a scam operation, they will sell your credit card number. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ORDERING FROM THEM. File a police report!"

"Do not (and I repeat)do not order from this company. This is an Internet scam! The way it works: You will see a low price on line and place an order. You will need to call to verify or they will call you. At that point you will be told that you need to "upgrade" in some way. In my case the projector I ordered "does not come with a bulb...need to order one for $200." This was a blatant lie, as I confirmed by checking elsewhere. These guys give gypsies, tramps and thieves a bad name. I'm going to report them and you should, too."

"I placed an order for a Canon Digital Rebel XTI for $579.00 I got an email confirmation stating that I needed to contact them because my shipping address is different from my billing address and needed to contact my CC to get the shipping addy on file. I contacted them and they sold me a battery (because professional cameras do not include batteries), case, card, and a warranty. The total was now over $1300. I tried and cancel my order and got a run around ("call this time, that time, to reach customer service", etc). I had my CC Cancelled and the next thing I knew is I got an email confirming my cancellation. (I assume that they tried to run my card and it was declined) From looking out on the web, people who didn't do this ended up being charged and then charged 10-15% for restocking. I figured that I could go without that CC for a week or so and it was safer. Do not do business with these companies (Best Price Cameras and affiliates). I was fortunate to avoid a horrible situation."

I was about to place an order for the Nikon D50 package #2 until I read about your scam of charging extra for the battery, charger and other things that Nikon includes in the box.

In fact, your ratings are so low, They barely clear 1% satisfaction. You might be wondering why I'm telling you this. I'm telling you because I want you to know that you lost a customer (probably hundreds a day) because of the reviews left by the multitude of people you've screwed!

"Called this seller to place an order for a Nikon D80 kit with a 28-300 sigma Lens. At the time this kit was posted with an $818 price. By the time I was finished adding on the needed extras... i.e. the items nikon includes in the box, like the rechargable battery and charger for $500+ the kit had gone up to $1724.99... I must have been in shock as I failed to cancel the purchase right then. When I came to my senses about half an hour later and called back an cancelled the order I was hung up on by customer service. I also sent email asking them to cancel the order and provide a documentation trail. I got no confirmation email that an order was even placed. Over 24 hrs later I got a shipping notice from UPS that a package was coming to me. Needless to say the package was refused. Also, I contacted the credit card company, AMEX, to place a dispute. Now over two weeks after the package was returned to them I am still waiting for a refund to my credit card for this order which was cancelled.

Moral: Avoid these theives like the plague. The prices look great, but then they charge you for items that are included by nearly all other stores in the box at no extra cost.

"After I thought I was getting a good deal on the new canon digital rebel XTI, I got a fishy email with only my order number and no other information. A little bit later, a sales rep called me to tell me that I had "Forgotton to give them the 3 digit code on the back of the card" - which wasn't true. I gave it to them anyway, not knowing any better. After that, he told me all the things that I "had to buy" with the camera body (case, battery, charger, etc.).. When I declined, he tried to lower the price down "just for me", and he was obviously shady. You shouldn't bargain with a camera salesrep over the phone. Then, I tried to cancel my order because of how shady he was sounding, and he told me that it would be a 10% charge, including the price of all the things that he had just tried to sell me! He kept saying things like "let me tell you what, hon- I'll throw this in just because I like you. I'm losing money here, Amy, really..." Push came to shove and today, I ended up being assertive (aka screaming) and cancelling my order and refusing to pay a cancellation cancellation fee. Be firm with these people, and don't fall for thier scams!!

To be safe, I just cancelled my credit card to ensure that I wouldn't be charged for anything, and I advise you all to do the same!! I've heard of these companies using fraud- be careful.

"I almost ordered a Nikon D80 from them yesterday. I had the same experience as far as a rude person trying to upsell me the battery. I got suspicious and wrote Nikon an email. They sent me to this site. What frustrates me is why is Visa and MC working with them. If they didn't work with these individuals it would really say something. And if everyone that has had a bad experience calls the BBB or writes why are they allowed to operate?"

"I wasted nearly a month and a half waiting for the new D80 camera body to be shipped from this company after making an order at an extremely low price (I know, shame on me). Then I became suspicious and read the reviews from this website and became sick to my stomach. This company will waste your time and money if they can get away with it. Every time I call costumer service I wait for 15 minutes and get an unfriendly rep who speaks in broken English and tells me that the D80 will come "next week." I finally called to cancel and dealt with a rude rep who quickly put me on hold for 20 more minutes, then hung up. I'm still not sure if its cancelled, but I've learned my lesson about this company and every other that posts very low prices. Hopefully scams like this will be shut down in the near future. "

"WARNING - DON'T ORDER ANYTHING FROM BEST PRICE CAMERAS! You will REGRET ordering from this company! I ordered $1,999.99 worth of video equipment. They sent the wrong microphone & I have spent 5 weeks listening to their extremely rude employees tell lies, make promises, & hang up on me. I shipped the incorrect mic back to them & they told me they had shipped the correct one. I waited 2 wks and finally they told me they did not have the correct microphone & must order it from Sony. They kept telling me I would have it in a couple of days! I finally told them to cancel the order - I couldn't wait any longer. They told me "you have been nothing but trouble to us". I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY $209 REFUND!!! I have written to BBB & all the photography mag I have subscriptions to. I TELL EVERYONE to BEWARE of this so-called company! They do not know HOW TO TELL THE TRUTH - MUCH LESS HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS!"

"My thanks also for everyone who has reported their experience with this so-called "company". There is another website which looks very similar and behaves in the similar way. It is www.century21electronics.com. I suspect that they are monitoring web page hits and adjusting prices to get people to place orders for the products they advertise. I called them and asked if they had the Nikon cameras and lens' I was looking for in stock. The guy responded yes without even a delay. I know the lens I want is not in stock most other places so I got suspicious and came to reseller ratings to investigate. So glad I didn't place any order. ritz or adorama for me."

"Wow! I should have read the comments here before ordering. Their store looks very professional and seems legit. But once i ordered it went exactly the way you would expect: a short confirmation that only stated that i ordered something, no details, no price. When i tried to call them the line was busy for a long time. Finally i reached someone (while i waited i read the reviews here, so i was prepared), and he confirmed my order of a LCD projector and also asked whether i would like a light bulb. That's when i canceled and called my credit card company to get a new card. What a way to do business. "Yes, we confirm the purchase of a car. Would you like tires and an engine with that?" They should be shut down!"

"After ordering from BestPriceCameras.com, they sent me a confirmation with just the order #. It doesn't provide a receipt like many stores do. Here is the letter I received from them:

Your order number is : ####### (actual # but i chose not to display them)

Please allow a minimum of two business days for order processing.

If the address you chose to have your package delivered is different then the address where you receive your monthly credit card statements (billing address) then you must list that address as an alternate shipping address to with your credit card company by calling the customer service number on the back of your credit card. (This is simply a temporary note on your account that will allow us to ship to an alternate address)

I decided to check it out. I got really nervous after I read your reviews. Since they were closed on Sunday, I decided to call today to cancel the order. The representative asked me for my name and order #. I told him my name and order #. He said my order didn't list my name. He wanted me to verify the digits on the back of my credit card. You've got to be kidding me. Who else's name would be on it. Any way, I told him the order should have my name as I just said. (Sorry, but how would I know the order #? If I was the person who placed the order, why wouldn't my name be on it? It's not like I'm giving it to someone else as a birthday gift. Why is he even asking me for those digits if I've placed an order with them? Don't they have that # already?) Why didn't he ask me to verify the address to cancel the order but he has to ask me for the digits on the back of the credit card? Any way, he told me rudely, "Are you going to give me that # or not? Otherwise, I can't verify who you are and can't cancel the order." I didn't want to be on the phone with this rude person any longer. I told him the # and asked him to cancel it. He said "Ok, I'll cancel it.", and hung up! I didn't even get to put any words in. I didn't even get to ask if a confirmation will be sent. Any way, I haven't even get an order cancellation confirmation from them! I've dealt with other companies before and they would send me a cancellation confirmation e-mail. These people are ridiculously rude and offensive to deal with. I called my credit card company for help. Hopefully, my bad experience with this seller ends here. I should have read your reviews before purchasing... It just seemed like a good deal for the item I was purchasing. What a waste of time... not to mention the aggravation/frustration involved to get this resolved. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM SELLER.

Also, according to NY BBB records they are also doing business as J&K Cameras. I wonder if its the same company thats on E-Bay called j&K cameras. "Someone needs to do something about the people running this company along with all their aliases. Although I cannot prove anything at this time, I believe this is the company that either used my credit card to make fraudulant purchases or sold it to a second party that used it.

My order was placed on Oct. 5. I received an email reading as follows:

Since I was shipping to a different address, I contacted the company. The operator I spoke to became rude after he realized I was not going to purchase the additional batteries, cards etc. He told me the battery for my Nikon D50 would not work in the Nikon D80. I have since confirmed this is simply not true. He then said "Good luck getting this camera to work, it has no firmware." He said it would be like running a computer without windows. I don't know enough about this end of the camera so was going to research this, asked him how long I had to cancel the order. He said I would have to cancel it right now if I wanted to cancel it, which I did.

On Oct 21, my credit card was used to purchase software online, with several other charges on Oct. 23 and 24 for a company called rediff.com limited. None of which were mine.

Please Please Please do not give this company or any of it affiliates your credit card information. If you have and you find fraudulant charges on your card, please insist your credit card fraud department investigate this company.


UPDATE: Someone mentioned an order placed with Century21electronics. com, this is the same people doing business under another name. Check the NY Better Business Bureau website and you will find many other names for these people.
