"Stay Away from Best Price Cameras!!!:
Watch out bestpricecameras.com!!! Best Price Cameras is also infinitiphoto.com and jandkcameras.com.I ordered a Panasonic PV GS500 camcorder kit and some accessories recent online at bestpricecameras.com for my coming vacation. They over charged me more $311, they put things that I didn’t order in the package, the box of the camcorder was opened before while they claimed that their products are new, and some products supposed to be included are missed in the package. Moreover, they do not have a return address on the package!!
I placed an order online and submitted my credit card info and address on bestpricecameras.com. Next day, a sales person, who told me that his name is Charles, contacted me to confirm my order. Charles said that I had to order a battery charger. I asked why the charger was not included, and it should be in the whole package. Charles said that the battery charger was not included, it’s a fast charger, and it’s an AC adapter can be used oversea. I repeated many times in the phone about the total price we agreed is $918.98.
I got an email that informed me that they shipped out a package to me. A few days later, I found out that my credit card was charged at $1229.99, which is over charged $311.01!! I have not received the package yet at that time. I called bestpricecameras.com. I called the sales department and customer many times to request the refund the amount they over charged. Charles said things differently each time in phone, and he denied the price we agreed before. He said that he is the highest supervisor at sales department.
I received the package later, and they have no return address on it! I opened the package and found out that the box of the camcorder was opened before, they put in a warranty that I didn’t order, and some products supposed to be included are missed in the package.
I did more search about them and the PV GS500 camcorder. The battery charger should be included in the PV GS500 camcorder per the manufacture. I asked sales person in BestBuy store, and they told me that a new PV GS500 camcorder includes a battery charger, which is an AC adaptor. I found out a lot of horrible experiences with bestpricecameras.com posted by other customers online.
I wrote a letter to bestpricecameras.com customer services and requested a return number and address. I also called them many times to request the return address. It has been 5 days now and I still haven’t got the return number and address.
Today, I found out that my credit card number was stolen / plagiarized, and it was used unauthorized outside of United States. This is the first time that my credit card number is plagiarized. I had to close this credit card account.
I have to file a complaint to BBB at www.bbb.org now.
It’s terrible experience with bestpricecameras.com. Stay away from bestpricecameras.com, infinitiphoto.com and jandkcameras.com!

"Scammers! Be forewarned this store is run by criminals. We paid for a camera with our Discover Card and printed out the order with the confirmation number. The next day, someone called my husband and said they needed to "confirm" the order. They also said the camera didn't come with a battery and my husband said, "That's odd, on the Web site it says it comes in the box". My husband said he didn't want it and thank you for contacting me.
We received the camera two days later and that's when the fun started. They sent a "kit" with a battery and lens for an additional $500. We never authorized them to charge us for these additional items. Meanwhile, my husband tried in vain to call Best Price Camera/Infinity Cameras) to tell them they over-charged us and to fix the order. We were going on vacation and wanted to make sure we got the order fixed before-hand. While on vacation, Discover called us and told us our card was trying to be used all over the Web. Best Price Cameras was the only place we had used the card; so we know it was them or they sold our credit card info to someone else. The battery came with the camera, but they charged us anyway for this stupid kit. Anyway, for four months we disputed with Discover. Don't even get me started on that! We tried and tried to get hold of Best Price Cameras via the phone and the Web. They always had a recording on. Meanwhile, Discover kept taking our charge in and out of dispute. My husband showed how they changed our order (the order number even changed because the crook on the phone put in a new order). We couldn't get hold of the company to get an RMA or even discuss the order. Finally, Discover said they would not dispute any further because we still had the merchandise. We decided to just FedEx it back and then Discover said they would dispute again. Best Price Cameras accepted the return. My husband called them after accepted the return and said he wanted the credit back. The slimy sales guy he originally talked with said that since we opened the box, we couldn't return. We had no choice but open the box. They opened it first and put the receipt in the camera box. My husband had thoroughly documented the whole transaction, took pictures of the box and showed they had changed our order and charged our credit card without our authorization. Two weeks later we had a full refund on our credit card. We threatened them with going to the Better Business Bureau and also filing a formal charge with the NY Attorney General.
Take-aways from our experience:
1. Always use AMEX for big purchases like this. I've NEVER, EVER had AMEX not go to bat for me.
2. DO NOT USE BEST PRICE CAMERA /INFINITY CAMERAS! THEY ARE CROOKS AND THE SLIME OF THE EARTH.
3. Your best bet is to go to a place like B&H Camera. That's where many professional photographers buy their equipment. We bought a camera from them and it was the best online shopping experience we have ever had.
4. Make sure you spread the word about these unethical, criminal outfits. Maybe we can put these people out of business.

"I've had the same horrible experience with Best Price Cameras as so many others. I tried to cancel my order when they wanted to charge for things I assumed would be included (camera battery & charger). When I wanted to to back out and cancel and they threatened to charge $1500 cancellation fee- by then they had my card # since I thought I'd finalized the order online. Sweet talked me into going through with sale, since I "could never find it anywhere else at this price"- true. Now sitting here with camera that I find out from Nikon was meant for the Japanese market and is not covered by their warranty since this horrible company is not an authorised dealer. Wish I'd checked up on that first. These guys are real pros and will try to talk you around and into a corner. When I called today and wanted to return everything for a refund they said I'd have to pay half what the order cost total to return- all sorts of processing fees etc. They have worded everything on the website just so so that they can get away with it all. Shady gang- do not buy from them. I have reported them to the better business bureau. Terrible experience and I feel like such a jerk for falling for their cheap scam tactics.
I want to add that now, a week later, we are finding that someone is using our card to buy plane tickets in India- I am sure it is via Best Price Cameras, they probably sell the card numbers. We closed the account- DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!"
"Same experience as everybody else. However, the business practice is not called "upseling". It is called "Bait and Switch". The idiot salesman that I spoke with tried to tell me that the D-70S that I was buying was an international version and the battery, charger, and CF card I had from a previous D-70 wouldn't work in this camera. I told him he was full of Sh** and he actually had the audacity to get offended. I hung up with him and called "customer service". The guy acted incedulous that somebody would tell me tha camera wouldn't work. "Of course it will work". Then , "of course we are out of stock." seven weeks later they still aren't in stock. I cancelled my order and filed a proest with the Federal Trade Commission (you can too on their web site; and also with the NY BBB. Probably won't help, but I felt a bit better. I'll buy from B&H from now on. Might be higher priced, but excellent salesmen and service."
"I was looking for a new camera and saw their prices were great, so I went ahead and ordered two Canons EOS 30D. I thought I would keep one and gift the other one. Anyway, I received an email with the order# and said someone would be calling me to "confirm" the order. The very next day I received a call from Charles, who offered me a battery for $219. I know that most high-end cameras and camcorders DO come with battery, so I told him I was not going to purchase a battery. He went on saying "how are you going to use your new camera if you don't have a battery?" and I asked if it does not come in the box already. He lied and said it did not. After insisting for a while, I just told him I was not purchasing a battery, period. He gave me the "confirmation" number and hung-up. Next day, I called to find out if I would get a tracking number thru email or when my order was being shipped. I spoke to Scott in customer service, he was corteous. He said that my order would be shipped in 4-6 wks, and I asked why. He said they oversold and assured me my credit card would not be charged until then. I said ok. Doing some more research online, I found this website, so I got worried about the stories I read. I called immediately and cancelled my order. Scott did send me an email confirming the cancellation. As a preventive measure, I called my credit card company and had them re-issue me a new account number."
"RUN AWAY and STAY AWAY! RUN NOW!
I wished I would have found this site before my nightmare began. Since I didn't learn from me and do not do business with these people. I am currently in a dispute with the scam artists and my AMEX card. I have vowed not to let them get away with stealing from me. The nightmare begins when I placed my order. James called me like to upsell me on the Canon 20D that I just ordered. He too told me that it did not come with a battery, battery charger, or the cables needed to connect the camera to my computer.
Prior to placing my order with BestPriceCamera.com, I contacted them multiple times to inquire about additional information including:
• Are the items that they selling new and are they 2006 models or are they factory REfurbished
• Does the package that they are selling come with a battery and battery charger?
• Does the camera come with a manufacturer US warranty
My fear at the time and substantiated later was that the items I wanted to purchase were not new. They could also be last years model that did not sell, possibly reconditioned, or did not come from Canon directly but rather possible a clearing house. I was assured by a telephone conversation from a customer service representative at BestPicedCamer.com that the camera and all items are brand new, never used, and are shipped out as they are received from the various manufacturers that they sell. I then placed my order via the internet.
Misrepresentation
Shortly after my order was placed, I was contacted by a representative from BestPricedCamera.com so that he could confirm my order and mailing address. During that conversation, I was asked if I wished to add to my order a battery, a battery charger, and connective cables. I was surprised to learn that the Canon did not come with them since most high end cameras that I purchased in the past, did. I ended up purchasing them and was told that the battery would cost $179.00 and the charger was approx. $300.00. Under the “Package Includes the Following Items” section at BestPricedCamera.com there is no battery, battery charger, and cable listed. But what is listed are the words Factory Fresh and Brand New.
Once I received the package from BestPricedCamera.com, I proceeded to inspect the contents and noticed that printed on the Canon box are the boxes contents. Remembering the conversations that I had with the rep’s. from BestPricedCamera.com stating that all items are shipped as they are received from the manufacturer and the discussion with the rep. who confirmed my mailing address and told me that NO battery nor battery charger nor cables come with the camera I became suspicious. I called Canon directly. Canon told me that all Canon 20D’s are shipped with a battery, a battery charger, and cables. This can be confirmed by calling Canon directly at 1-***-***-****. The Canon 20D user manual lists out the contents of the box which again confirms that Canon ships with mentioned items. Adding salt to this is the fact that right on the box of the camera it states that it does in fact come with a battery, chargers, and cables. Interesting to note the extreme mark-up BestPriceCamera.com has on these items. The true cost (from Canon) of the battery and the battery charger are $65.00 and $70.00 for the battery and the battery charger. NOT $179.00 and $300.00 that BestPriceCamera.com charges. When I found this information out, I immediately called BestPriceCamera.com and asked for an explanation as to the differences in price and the omission of the battery, the battery charger, and cables. He said that they are free to offer any price for these items and the customer is free not to purchase them. However, when I asked him to explain to me how they can claim that all items are new and factory fresh but yet they physically open the box and removed the items the factory package to resell them, he could not. I then asked for a credit to be given for the battery, the battery charger, and the cables. He refused at which time I informed him that I wish to return the all the items. He stated I should rethink my decision because I was going to incur a 10% restocking penalty. I told him that I wished to return the items anyway. I immediately filled a depute with American Express.
Also note that on the BestPriceCamera.com site under “Buyer Assurance” they state that “everything we sell is BRAND NEW and FACTORY FRERSH.” This is not true. In order for that battery, the battery charger, and the cable to be absent from the box, BestPriceCamera.com made the decision to physically open the camera box and remove each item. This nullifies their claim of Factory Fresh. They are using Bait and Switch tactics. The camera was not shipped out the way it came from the manufacturer, it is not Factory Fresh.

"DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS! They offer a low price and then make you call up to confirm and try to get you to buy battery and charger and more at prices even higher than their online price. The rude salesguy actually told me if I bought a Lithium Ion battery or used an existing one I owned that I would have to send it in to have them program the camera! The guy was pushy, rude and abnoxious and hung up on me when I cancelled the order. I am now monitoring to see if they try to charge my credit card. Makes you wonder with all these complaints why no action has been taken to shut them down.
THESE GUYS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!"
"I just attempted to purchase 4 plasma televisions from this store and got very uncomfortable with the sales pressure. I cancelled the order and found this website. EVERYTHING you read about them pressuring you to spend $$Thousands on warranty coverage is 100% true. Do not purchase here!"
"Best Price Cameras is a fraudulent (not real store) company. They mistreat, lie and try to rob their costumers. I placed an order online since they have one of the best prices of the digital camera I was buying. Two days after the order, I go an email to call them to “confirm the order”. I called them just to have a guy (Steve) tell me that the camera did not come to battery that I had to buy one separate. When I told him that I knew they come with battery, since I had researched before buying it, he said in a very aggressive and insulting tone that they did not. I then asked him to please cancel my order and he said “OK” and rudely hanged up."
"This was the worst internet shopping experience I have ever had. It is fraud, I asked for an email to look over the proposed purchase, when I did not receive it I called only to be told they charged my account and I was told I could not cancel it (even though American Express had not received it)then it arrives with no return shipping information. The sales man hung up the phone on me, and they are saying they want 10% of the order as their fee. (I called to talk about their items, when I asked about the return policy they only told me about the 7 days, NOT the 10% cancel fee) American Express is handling it for me, they will investigate this. This is a unprofessional outfit, with no interest in customer service or repeat business, only to rip you off. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO."
"Ordered Sony Cybershot DSC H5 camera by internet -- very low price. Got EMail to call to expedite order. When I called, I was told that this was the wholesale model and did not come with batteries. This is not the way the camera is sold in the US. So I cancelled the order. Many internet camera stores with lowest prices use this bait-and-switch tactic. "
"STAY AWAY!!!
Well here you are again, reading similar comments. I found the Pan PV-GS500 for an irresistible price. If it is to good to be true it probably is!! So I ordered, and choose 2nd day shipping. As soon as I clicked submit, the message came up stating that it will take up to 72 hours to process. I called, and someone assured me that it will be done and I will have the camera by Friday the 11th. Thursday the 10th, I get a call from home letting me know that there are 2 voice messages from these guys asking to confirm the order (sounds familiar?). I called and confirmed. First question after was what type of battery I want, I said none, and just the original will be enough. Get this, he said that the battery is DISPOSABLE and only good for 20 to 30 minutes, I right away asked to cancel my order. They tried to get me to buy by matching prices from other vendors, but I declined. To bad I did not find this website before. After reading here, I called AMEX and asked to have new account and cards. STAY AWAY from these con artists. "
"This place is a scam. I placed my order yesterday and received an e-mail stating, "Please allow a minimum of two business days for order processing. To expedite order processing, please call us at ***-***-****."
So I called. Instead of verifying my information though all they did was try to sell me additional items. After about the third sales pitch I explained that all I wanted was what I ordered and was then quoted a price MUCH higher than what I agreed to pay online. WHAT? So I asked for a breakdown of the costs and was told that in addtion to the lens and shipping costs there was a 9% insurance fee and a 9% handling fee, adding 18% to my order. WHAT?? When I explained this price was much more than the online store stated the guy said, "Oh, well it should have included those fees." Obviously it didn't and furthermore, I went back to check to see if they are even mentioned anywhere on the site and they are not. WHAT???
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. I cancelled my order and will not be doing business with them. "
"I placed an order online for the Sony KDS-R60XBR1 60" Grand Wega SXRD Rear Projection television on August 8, 2006 because they had such a good price on the TV. On Monday August 14, 2006, I had not received any additional correspondence from this company, so I called to check the status of my order. When I called the sales guy who answered wanted to know which bulb I wanted I purchase for the TV stating that they range from $499 to $799. The website insisted that this TV was brand new. How many brand new TV's come without a bulb?? NONE! He tried to charge me an additional fee to have the bulb installed. Then he told me it would be approximately three weeks before I received my TV. The price of the TV quickly went from $2,629.00 as stated on the internet to $3,496.00 a difference of $867. They were trying to sell refurbished products, however you would never be able to tell from the website because it stated that "Everything we sell is BRAND NEW and FACTORY FRESH" unless otherwise specified. Well, it was not specified and was listed as brand new factory sealed. I am reporting this company to the BBB for fraud. Furthermore, when I wanted to cancel the order the customer service rep initially refused to cancel the order. Finally he said he would. I called twice and asked for email correspondence that the order was canceled and I have yet to receive such correspondence. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! Spend the extra money to know what product you are receiving and to obtain better customer service. I ended up using Butterfly Photo and so far they have been excellent."
"Place order for item on website which was good price. Listed work number as my contact number WHICH I NEVER DO. Received call asking what battery I wanted to purchase (for over $100). I told them if a battery didn't come with it, to cancel my order. My order was cancelled and not long after I receive a call from the fraud unit of my credit card asking if I had charged items to Pakistan International. I had not and my card was subsequently canceled and reissued. I receive a call from a merchant about some colognes I ordered and wanted sent to Viet Nam. The call was to my work number WHICH I HAD ONLY GIVEN TO BESTPRICECAMERAS. Not only are they a scam operation, they will sell your credit card number. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING THEM."
