"Very bad customer service, they told me to get the expensive shipping so i wont get charge by custom, but at the end, i have to pay expensive shipping AND expensive custome ! What a liar ! I will never buy anything from this company again"

"I made a purchase from this site and was assured my product was in stock, after waiting 3 days and no contact from this company I called and was told the item was not available. They tried to sell me the same item I had ordered which was a digital camera but ONLY as a package including a bunch of items I did not want to purchase, which would have been around 400.00 more than I had expected to pay. Do not shop with these people ... they are liars and did nothing to correct their mistake."

"I ordered the Canon XL2 after doing extensive research on venders of the camera. The shipping, I believe, was excessive (at $114), but even taking that into consideration the price and package was still acceptable. I received two phone calls to confirm my mailing address and one e-mail instructing me to call to conferm my order. When I called they tried to sell me another battery (they didn't mention what kind only that it was "cheaper"), which I declined. He was a little pushy, but I stood my ground. I noticed that after my order was placed that the price of the camera went up $40 on the web site. Probably trying to recover costs from my not buying their overpriced battery. When I went to check the status of my order two days later the website said I had no orders. I called and spoke with someone who told me that the system was having issues and they gave me a tracking number. The camera arrived today, on time, in perfect condition. I must say that I was really sweating bullets in the mean time hoping I wouldn't be one of those horror stories you read about on here. (i.e. empty box, non-funcitioning equipment, etc...) I'm happy with the camera and hope that the store can continue delivering as promised when/if I place my next order."

"I purchased a Nikon S! over the internet. Within the hour a salesman called to urge me to purchase a 3 year extended warranty and an extra battery that would last 4 hours.I agreed and asked him to send me an email updating my order. The email never came. Even though I asked that the order not be sent until the following week as I was to be out of town the order arrived the next day and sat outside my house for 3 days. When I returned I discovered that the warranty was not a Nikon warranty which I was led to believe and the battery was no different than the one that was included in the Nikopn box. When I called to speak with the salesman he insisted that it was indeed a 4 hour battery. Itold him that the numbers on the battery were identical with the ones on the1 hour battery. He told me to try it and if I was not satisfied I could talk to customer service and hung up. The invoice clearly states that if I open the battery it is non-refundable!! To make matters worse, I contacted NIkon. They asked me what kind of manual came with the camera. They said that if it was stapled and not bound it was an illegal camera. That it was produced for another country and that there was in fact no warranty at all with such cameras. They advised me to return the product. They said that the government has not cracked down on thei "grey market." The merchants get away with paying duties, etc. and scam the public. I am returning the camera and accessories but they are charging me a restocking fee and shipping. I have American Express investigating them.DON'T BUY FROM BROADWAY PHOTO"

"The ordering process from the website went fine. But received an email that had to confirm the order via phone. After confirming the order and having to deal with the pushy sales rep. I agreed to add the extended warranty and extra battery for 49.99. But as I went to check on the website the actual price was 149.99, so I called back 5 minutes after and sent an email to make them change the order back to original. Well, they never responded and shipped and as I received the shipment and invoice I had been charged $136 more than expected. I tried contacting via email and phone with out any luck. And wouldn’t you know it, they finally decided to call back 21 days after the order, when you cannot return the order any more. The sales rep wanted to give me $20 dollars back, but that is very short from $136. I will let the credit card company deal with them! I highly recommend that you DO NOT ORDER from them as they will try to scam you. Try to contact them and you will see the level of support and how they deal with the customer."

"DO NOT buy things from this company. Their sales tried to (actually, forcing buyer) sell you accessories and make money from that for the comapny. After placing the order, they would ignore you and hung up your phone. Their customer service rep. actuatlly told me they sell cheaper price for the camera, and make money from the accessories, and if you want to return, you have to return the whole package, including the camera. The attitude from the sales are the worst, they never say or feel sorry what they have done."

"Worst online store I have ever dealt with and I buy everything online.
It will be eight days by the time I finally recieve my purchase from Broadway Photo and I paid extra for three day delivery.
I too was given the sales pitch when I called them back for their so called verification of my order. The guy tried to sell me a spare battery at the discounted rate of $50, I told him that you can buy those batteries online elsewhere for $15 incl shipping and he hung up.
From the time I ordered, to the time my purchase was shipped was FIVE DAYS, this is totally unacceptable and anyone given a choice should choose another store to buy from.
All in all this company has made me very angry.

"I purchased Konica-Minolta Maxxum /Dynax 5D, 6.1 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera w/ 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6(D) AF DT Zoom Lens Kit on Prestigecamera.com website because the price was good (http://www.prestigecamera.com/product~id~mnamx5-digkit.htm). I has chosen next day delivery method of shipment and got an order confirmation. Couple days later somebody called to confirm the shipping address and tried to also include some extra stuff in my order (like he said that I need a lithium battery because the camera will not work without it.) I declined everything except for what’s included in the kit. The next day I received an email stating that the item I ordered is out of stock. I called back and was told that it’ll take 4 to 5 weeks for them to receive a new shipment. I’ve checked out the web site – it is still listed In Stock. Those guys are basically selling the stuff they do not have and hopefully will only get around Xmas time. Customer service experience was really bad also. I canceled the order and just hope that my info would not be sold out to some other shady companies…"

"Absolutely disheartening experience, especially given that I convinced my elderly parents that they should trust the $2000 purchase of a plasma tv from this fraudulant operation. We were celebrating both mine and my mother's battle with cancer and they decided to get a top of the line TV. Prestige Camera haslied at least 4 specific times: (1) Tried to sell me the TV stand, which Sony later told me is standard; (2) Told me the TV was shipped, when the shipper later told me there was not record; (3) Told me they would not charge my Mom's AMEX until product arrived; AMEX was charged 8 days ago, product still not in warehouse; (4)Told me that product would be delivered Monday, but then I found out TV has not even been shipped from overseas. I am sick to my stomach over my decision to go with this company."

"average score for preferredphoto is a very mediocre 5... obviously they treated everyone else far better than they treated me... the salesman PUSHED very overpriced accesories on me that i didn't need... i fell victim to his pressure, after all, why should i assume he is such a cheat?

he told me he was "throwing in" a $120 battery with my digital camera for an extra $40... when i received the battery, it turned out to be a $15 battery

i called customer service, and they were quick to apologize and claim that they would refund $25 to my bankcard within 3 business days... that was over a month ago... now when i call customer service to inquire about the status of the refund, they just get mad and yell at me, tell me i'm "wasting their time", and claim that the delay is because of (an entire month of) Jewish holidays, and that i just need to be patient

"I read mixed reviews on this site but figured I would give them a shot because they had the lowest price for the lens I was buying. I called to ensure that the order would go out the same day and it did! I even received it from UPS, two days early (but I figure that's a pat on the back for UPS).

The product was brand new, in box, and wrapped in plastic. It works great! I would buy from them again.

"I purchased a digital camera from these people. It was a distasteful experience from the start. I called them to place the order for the camera and the person who answered was very high pressured and tried to sell me every option and gadget known to man even though I specifically asked for the camera only. I purchased the "kit" which turned out to be total crap.(shame on me) Then they charged me nearly twice the listed shipping charge listed on their website. When I called them back on that issue, they explained that is was shipped "second day". B.S. I did not receive the package until the end of the 4th day from order date. As a consolation he said they would send a memory card....guess what, Nothing! These people give New Yorkers a bad name and will rip you off any way they can. "

"STAY AWAY!!! They completely lied to me about their return policy. They sent me a broken product and told me they would reimburse me to ship it back. The shipping cost me $35 and then they refused to reimburse. They also said that they won't refund for defective products either. BEWARE!!!"

"I was price checking the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1K (black exterior) digital camera via Froogle, and Broadway Photo offered the lowest price by far ($485 as opposed to $550 or the supposed MSRP of $599). It seemed like a good deal, but before placing my order I luckily found this site and learned about the bait and switch tactics that these guys are so blatantly famous for. So I kept looking for a more reputable merchant but was unable to find a price within even $75 of what Broadway was offering.

So I decided to take a chance. I knew they would make me call to verify the order, and then try to hard-sell me components I wouldn't need or that were actually included in the "factory sealed" package. And they did. I got the email, made the call, and spoke with an unidentified male, who complimented me on my purchase, and immediately followed that with "So, would you like the 2 hour or 4 hour battery with that?" He then explained how the camera had been shipped with a "demo" battery which would only last 12 minutes. I responding by simply repeating the mantra, "I do not want any additional parts, only the factory fresh package as indicated on your web site". He finally gave up, and the order was placed. It arrived in 2 days (with UPS 3 day shipping) in perfect condition (US manual and warranty), with a fully functional battery, but, alas, no 32 MB memory card, which was useless anyway.

So I'd say I escaped unscathed for the most part, but I would most definitely not recommend these folks to anyone else. Interestingly enough, the day after I placed the order, the price went up to $520.

"I ordered a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM AutoFocus Wide Angle Lens for Canon. After I placed the order I saw this site and the poor reviews. I was worried that I had made a big mistake. As it turned I received the lens in a resonable amount of time and it works fine. The price was much less than anywhere else."
