"I ordered a Canon S2 IS from DL since it had the lowest price of $404 and it had inadvertently sent me a Free Shipping Coupon. Somehow it thought I had already ordered the camera and had sent me a code for Free Shipping on my next order over $250.
Well, that order didn't go through it seemed as I had yet to respond to its two emails to call and confirm the order. I wanted the camera shipped to an address other than my billing address as I was flying there in 3 days. Before I could call, a sales rep from DL called me instead. First, I was told I needed to add the shipping address to my CC account. Then I was told the Free Shipping Coupon only applied to shipping to the billing address. Then as I suspected, he started to sell me accessories to the camera from batteries, charger, SD storage, and extended warranty. When I declined each time, he stated that I was ordering the "Import Model". When I asked what came with it, he replied, "Nothing, just the camera." No warranty? "No warranty, just the camera." When I asked when I could receive it, he stated that I would get a shipping notice in 3 or 4 weeks when it was released for shipment. I stated I needed it in 3 or 4 days. He repeated that it would take 5 to 6 weeks for an overseas shipment. Exasperatedly, I told him to cancel the order.
After hanging up, I again looked at the Canon S2 IS on the website, no where did it say it was an "Import Model". I called DL on another toll free number indicated on the website, hoping to speak to someone else. After answering a couple automated questions, I was forwarded to the same person I was talking to just a few minutes ago. Humouredly, I said that if I asked what came with the camera, would he answer "Nothing, just the camera." He dryly replied "Nothing. Is there anything else?" I said “No, just send me confirmation that the order was canceled.” This he did do.
After reading some of the other remarks about this company, I feel like I'm one of the luckier ones. Leastways I hope I am and that I won't be receiving some mysterious charges on my CC account. I echo some of the others' comments --DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!
"
"I ordered a Fujifilm FinePix S5500/S5100 digital camera from digitalliquidators.com. The stated price on the web site (still)is $255. When I checked out, I was charged $255 + $9.99 for S&H -total $264.99. The next day I received an e-mail to call them for "verification". When I did so, I was told that the S5500 was a Japenese model which included NO accessories! I was then told that the S5100, the US model, costs $299. I reluctantly purchased it because they said they would ship it that day. Also, I already knew I was dealing with a dubious business whom I did not expect to rightfully refund my money after purposefully misleading me via their web site ad. They did send A camera, but NOT the S5100. Rather,I received a S5500 with ALL accessories! I bought this camera, in part, because there's a $50 manufacturer rebate on the S5100, but I don't know whether or not I'll receive it on the S5500. Lastly, when I call they told me the S&H fee (to include non optional insurance) would be $20 rather than the $9.99 cited when I checked out. BOTTOM LINE: I was charged $55 more than I was told I would be when I checked out the item, and now it's also questionable that I'll be able to redeem my $50 manufacturer rebate because they sent me the S5500 model when they explictly promised to send me the S5100 model. As a frequent Internet purchaser, I must say this is, by far, the most unsrupulous merchant I've EVER dealt with! "
"This purchasing experience is the worst one I ever have up to know.
The order need to be confirmed by phone after you place a order on line.
Sounds stranger?
They will try to sell you other stuff, and if you tell the representative to cancel the order, he will tell you "the order is shipped and cannot be cancel", however you may receive a tracking number after more than THREE days.
If you reject the delivery and the order returns to them, the shipping fee and 15% restoring fee will be charged for sure.
I guess this is the way they make money.
Don't buy anything from this company if you don't want to be the next victim."
"I purchased a digital camera for the price of $309 I received a comfirmation that listed only this item which would have been correct. Before my order was filled, I was contacted by a sales representative to confirm my order, Instead, he tried selling additional accessories. I said no to all of what he tried to sell. Yet I sas sent a package with a carrying bag, a 120MB memory card and my digital camera. the total on the invoice was $635.99 WWHHHHHAAAAAATTTTT?????????
That is very deceptive and their sales techniques are almost extortion.
When I called to get an RMA to return the product, I was told I was better off not doing so or they will charge me 15% re-stocking fee and the $36.00 that I paid for shipping charges are not refundable. I returned the product on the 28th and up to this day, they haven't returned my money!! This company should be banned from selling overseas product.
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"I called to check the item availability prior to placing the online order. I was told that the item could be shipped the next day. A few hours after placing my online order, I received an email notifying me that my item was on backorder. I sent an email and place additional phone calls to get a status as to when I can expect the item. After not getting a response, I requested that my order be cancel. I will NEVER do business with the company again. this was a complete waste of my time."
"After placing online order, company rep calls and tries to offer extras not ordered. After reading up on customer comments, I try to cancel order. They say they will accept return only if I agree to a refund only $312 of $599+ charged, the remaining $288 being shipping and restocking fees!"
"I purchased a Sony camera over the internet from this company on 6/20/05 and on 6/21/05 I received a phone call from this company asking me if I would like to purchase the cables for this camera for $69. When I said no the salesman said I would not be able to use the camera without these cables and offered them to me for $49. Believing that the cables were not included with the camera I agreed to buy them.
When the camera arrived I found that on the box was listed all the supplied accessories that came with the camera. Included on that list were the cables which I paid extra for.
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAM ARTIST."
" I just cancelled my order after being deceived by Digital Liquidators Customer Service that my order "will be shipped today" everyday for the last week. Finally they confessed that the unit I ordered was actually on backorder, they asked me to "upgrade" my order for same camera (Sony DSC V3) with more powerful battery, which was ready to be shipped "today". After already upgrading my warranty from 3 years to 5 years, I complied and upgraded my order for the package that was supposedly ready to be shipped same day, and still 4 days later I am waiting for my order that will be shipped "today", I finally decided that it was time to cancel my order. I just hope that they will credit my card back more efficiently then they ship orders.
Do not do business with Digital Liquidators.
They will keep promising and not deliver.
My opinion is that they should be held responsible for poor business practices and deception."
"Do not purchase anything from this company. Their selling tactics are unethical and business practice likely illegal. Phone hard sell of knock-off, cheap accessories at prices 10x higher than elsewhere. Don't be fooled, they're only after your money and make returns very expensive to do."
"I just wanted to echo everyone else about trying to buy a digital camera from this company. I placed an on-line order, got the "please call us to confirm your order", and then they tried to sell me the battery and charger for the camera. Needless to say I canceled my order immediately after talking to them over the phone. Very deceptive advertising."
"I ordered a Digital camera. What a mess. I felt like I was buying a used car! So I get this email that tells me I need to call to confirm my purchase. I call and they tell me I bought a wholesale digital camera. In other words, I was only getting the camera and that was it. If wanted the battery, recharger, and software (which is included normally by any other store) you had to pay an additional $20. bucks! What is that all about. That is like buy a TV for $150 that retails for $300 and having to pay another $150 just to get the plug! I would NEVER USE or Recommend this company. I felt like I was getting the ole Bait and Switch! There deal may seem good, but it is all a lie. Also Digital Liquidators are running on Ebay. Be CAREFUL! In additioin, I think the following are all working with or owned by the same parent company: 17th Street Photo; A and M Photo World; Park Ave. Electronics; Cameras and Electronics; Family Photo and Video; Abe's of Maine and Broadway Photo. BEWARE!!!!"
"These company is a dishonest company. I ordered a pal camcorder because they were offering good price on web. They tried to sell me a battery, I didn't buy, they said they were sending then I got an e-mail from them it is backordered. Today I called them like a new customer and wanted to order same camcorder and they said they have in stock. When I started to complain they transferred me to a voice mail. I think you got the point, they are liar and dishonest."
"I bailed on my order when they tried to sell me a remote to a plasma. I was very surprised by this, who expects a scam right? So I didn't stop my order right away, I asked more questions and found out they tried to sell me the stand that I absolutely knew came with the plasma. I was lucky. I called wihtout putting my information on the website. A glitch on their website kept me from entering an order from their internet site that sets up the trap and scam. I plan on calling the NY att. General tomorrow. TOTAL SCAM."
"Unbelievably poor service, customer service line busy, can't get through and won't send order for some unknown reason. Never had this kind of nightmare experience. This company should be banned from selling."
"Attempted to buy a $2000 TV from them AFTER being sent a coupon code for Free Shipping on the TV I was interested in. I place the order and picked Truck Shipping (said $0 for Truck delivery), only to receive an email to call in to verify my order placed. After calling in, the rep Chris at Ext. 720 told me my TV was excluded from the Free Shipping because it needs to be shipped by truck. NOWHERE on the website or Coupon Code email does it state this, and I selected Truck Shipping which showed as Free Shipping along with UPS Ground; only FedEx and other shipping methods were excluded using the coupon code. Clearly Bait & Switch to draw you in on their low prices and then they change their price and policies ON THE PHONE. The same company has multiple websites (A&M PhotoWorld and DigitalLiquidators being two) that have DIFFERENT prices for the same items. Companies are NOT allowed to do that and change prices and policies AFTER you place your order. I intend to file complaints with the district attonrye's office in NY regarding their practices. Bottom line folks, DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY or you'll be sorry."
