"I wanted to purchase a Nikon D-70 camera body as packaged and contents listed on the Nikon and other vendors web sites. Nikon list the body only packaged with all necessary items, battery, battery charger, etc but not the flash card. This vendor told me that the body only did not include the battery, battery charger, etc. I ask what do you do take the items that come with it from the factory out of the box and sell them as accessories. The response I got was the camera does not come with the battery or battery charger only the camera body. I declined to purchase from them. I had purchased online and was sent an email to verify by calling them. I called them thinking they just wanted to sell me other accessories. I am glad I called and found out what they were going to send. I canceled the order. I consider when a vendor list a product as they did then that product is packaged as the Manufacture list it and what its packaged contents are, anything other I consider false advertising."
"I would not recommend buying from this store. I have never ordered anything online that tells me I have to call the store to confirm the order. It's ridiculous. When I called, a person named Paul from the service department tells me it's out of stock. Why didn't you update it then? He was very brupt and rude. He said, "What order # are you calling about?" I told him the order # and he told me that it's not in stock, I will cancel your order and hung up. I didn't get a chance to even say anything! This is not a trustworthy place to buy. Let's hope they're not going to charge my credit card for this because I will dispute it to the end!!! "
"I couldn't even get an order in. I was literally transfered 3 times and hung up on in less than 1 minute. How can they expect to get any business treating customers this way!!"
"NEVER BUY FROM THIS STORE!!
I recently bought a Sony DCR-DVD403 from this company. The sales person sold me the camcorder for $624 and explained nothing came with it. So he sold be a "starter kit" for $125.99 which should equal $749.99. Sales person said free shipping. I requested a detailed invoice and sales person said I would get one by e-mail. I called them several times subsequently and found out that my total cost had jumped to $810 and then to $851 and was told shipping was not free. Customer service refused to give me a detailed invoice by phone of the charges or send me an e-mail invoice. When I asked to cancel order I was placed on hold, basically not being allowed to cancel the order. Subsequent calls where ignored. My credit card was charged for the unauthorized amount of $851 which I have disputed with the card co. I also filed a complaint with the New York better business bureau at www.bbbnewyork.org. I would encourage others to do the same. I may contact the State Attorney General's office as well. Digital Liquidator's is the worst online experience I have had."
"I really wanted to purchase a digital camera and had my eye on the new Sony Cybershot DSC-T7 camera. At BestBuy they offer it for $499.99 and when searching various online places (ebay etc) I came across one of those price comparison websites with bwayphoto.com as one of the lowest prices at $395. I checked their reviews at that site and it seemed good at the time...
But I should've done more research around (like this website) because after I placed my order the next day came the "please call to verify your invoice/shipping address"
Which then the seller (whom I'll at least say was nice even though he was still a SCAM artist) suckered me into an additional battery and lied to me saying the camera came with a battery that is only good for 30 minutes of camera time, which the battery actually had well more over an hour! And the camera battery that I bought from him, he said had a camera time of 3 hours which infact was the EXACT SAME as the included official Sony battery!
Besides the upsetting OVERPRICED ACCESSORY RIP OFF (be aware future purchasers) I ended up with an additional camera battery and it costed alittle less than what it would have costed buying it at BestBuy.
At least the camera is great and included everything (although I think they might have took out the Sony Warrenty card in it.... hmmm) At least that kept me happy than thinking about how bad of scam artists they are."
"I had the exact same experience with this company! I was very excited about the price and called to make sure the camera was in stock before I ordered - they said it was, so placed my order. The next day, I received an e-mail that in order to process my order I needed to call them. So, I get the whole sales pitch - I didn't say no immediately, I told him I wanted to discuss it with my husband - so he hung up on me. Then they e-mail me that the item is backordered. I will never order from them again!"
"Never go by this store. It's aweful and the customer service is terrible. I made the order for Sony DCR-DVD403 DVD Camcorder from that store online and got the email to ask me to call back to get the verification. I called and the guy answered with a rude tone. He just asked me to buy the battery and some other accessories. I told him I won't order any additional accessories unless I need them in the future. He told me your camcorder won't work without the battery. I was so surprised and asked that it should come with in the kit. Then he said NO, it only has the camcorder body itself, all the other parts I have to buy them seperately. I told him I want to cancel the order then. He just hung up the phone right away. After that, I went back to their site try to erase my personal information from there, then I realized the page to update your information is fake. Once you entered, you won't be able to modify them. This is really tricky store. I am still feeling bad and unsafe since I released my credit card information and other personal information to them. "
"Worst experience of my life. Ordered the item (projector) only to receive email that I needed to call to verify order. After going through that process, I'm given the 'hard-sell' to buy upgrades, accessories, etc. After telling them to ship the item and nothing else, I get a smart remark about "shipping sometime."
Two weeks later, I check the status and it shows it on backorder. However, if you go to BizRate or StreetPrices, they show it in stock. Called 3 times after sending email that received no response. Voicemail sends you to customer service that rings until it hangs up! Sent 3 emails telling them to cancel and I get an email telling me to "call customer service" that it can't be done through email. Like I said, "Stay away from this company.""
"very dissapointed!!!
May 11 I ordered Panasonic DMC FZ-20 price-$479.99
from them and then got the call about needing to verify the order
After that they were trying to pressure me into extra battery that I didnt need. And they offered me 5-year warranty for only $19. I asked twice Is it 19 or 90, he said again just $19.And total price with the battery and 5-year warranty was $598.97 with free shipping.
May19 I've got my package with invoice
ship fees-19.99
non taxable subtotal-578.98
total-598.97
1 year warranty -0.00
I tried to e-mail them and they replayed me:Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for shopping at bwayphoto.com.
We are sorry for any inconvenience but their type of concerns can only be dealt by phone. The email dept cannot access the required information nor can they pass any emails to the proper dept.
In order to assist you with this concern as well as any other question you have please contact our customer service staff at ***-***-****
What is that? Their departments don't have any connections? O'k. I called them to ask about 5-year warranty.Guy was not to polaite. He just said: you didn't understand, warranty cannot be less than $90.
When I asked how can I return battery and get a warranty he said I can return only whole package.
And they was gonna charge me $120.00 restocking fee and shipment.
Will never have a deal with. Very unpleasant guys.
Horrible service."
"This is the WORST company that I have ever dealt with!!!! 13 days after purchasing product I receive an e-mail that the product could take another 6 weeks. This is after talking to their staff on the phone (that tried only to sell me on additional products and failed to mention how long it would take to get the item that I had bought.) I will never buy from this company again!!!"
"Broadway Photo is one place that will be a last resort to deal with in the future. I purchased an Olympus Evolt 300 dslr from them and then got the call about needing to verify the order. I thought that was great but then they were trying to pressure me into a lot of extras that I didnt need. My camera that I was going to pay about $695 for just went up to over $2000. I then told them I didn't need all that stuff, then was told they have a package special for $1475. It did have a lot of stuff I would/could use. I went ahead and purchased the stuff. Then when I called back to investigate what kind of compact flash I was getting that cost $499 for 512 mb card. They just said it was a professional grade and the fastest you can get. I then got cold feet and tried to cancel the order. The order was pushed through anyway. When I received the order I wanted to return it and they wanted to charge $70 return shipping and 7 - 10% restock fee. I talked to the manager and we ended up working out a deal of returning the camera, upgrading it to the 2 lens kit and getting some accessories thrown in. Over all my good deal turned out bad and then in the end was about what I could have purchased here locally. I would say do your research and this is the first time that I have been burned on an internet purchase. "
"I hate doing this but I have to give Broadway photo a good review. After finding out that B&H was closed for another holiday and wouldn't be back for a week after the time I needed my product. I freaked and started searching for some other company that sold Video Innovators shoulder supports. All of the companies were considered scammers by this web site and I was now really freaking out because I have no other way of getting this product but through a scammer. The less of 2 evils was Broadway. Why I don't know maybe because they didn't charge me 90 bucks to ship a 2 pound item or because their web site seems to project respectability, but I was desperate so I bought 2 shoulder supports, price 10 bucks more each than B&H but that did matter now. shipping was 24 bucks for 2 day air, which seemed to be in order. I placed my order and as is all ways stated in these reviews I got an email stating I had to call to verify. Oh I was freaking, I needed these things for a shoot on Sunday and they had to be here by Friday, I didn't have time to be screwing around with some sales guy trying to sale me 300 dollar blank tapes. I called and was put on hold for about a minute by the machine, than a guy answered, I told him I got the email to verify he put me on hold for 2 minutes were the next guy answers and puts me on hold again. So I hung up and started to pee my pants. Within a minute the dude calls me back and asked if I ordered the stuff I said yes. Now this is were I got smart, he asks me what kind of camera I'm using the supports for I said I don't know I was just told to order these things I don't use them. lie, He says oh, because we have some great deals on batteries (500 dollars Sony's retailing for 78 probably). I said well my job is to find these parts I have no idea what cameras are going on them. He says okay and says you should have the parts by the weekend, I panic a little and said I need them by Friday, he said ya you got 2 day air they will be there by Friday. we said goodbye. That night I got an email that said the order has processed. that morning I got a email that the items had shipped, by that night I had tracking info thru UPS. the item arrived on time brand new and worked great. By their affiliation with "Regal" (I have dealt with Regal I know to die first before ever ordering from them again, I did know they were the same company). Broadway is still a very last resort for me, but this experience has made me feel a little more comfortable with ordering thru them, at least I know they can get stuff to me on time and they do have a system in place all be it shading on the big ticket items."
"Order placed 2/27. Informed at website - order processed 2-3 days. Rec'd email to call and confirm order. Told delivery would be 4-5 weeks. Waited 7 weeks. Email customer support says they can't contact the cust service dept, I must call. Got cut off twice after being on hold for 5 minutes. Gave up - Emailed customer support to advise that I am cancelling due to non-delivery. Never rec'd any response."
"These guys don't have a clue what's going on.
Apr. 28: Placed order over the phone.
Apr. 29: Received email that the order was processed. I called to see when I can expect a tracking number. They reply you should have one tonight.
May 2: I never received a tracking number so I called again to try to find out when it will ship. The same reply comes. It should ship out tonight. Then after closing I receive a voicemail stating there's a problem with my credit card. I add my shipping address to a note on the card.
May 3: I return the call I received on my voicemail and inform them the credit card has been straightened out. They say ok we'll check it out again and should get a tracking number tonight.
May 4: Still no tracking number. I call back to find out what's going on. They reply the card has been declined and the order was apparently canceled by me on May 2. I told the guy this was not possible because I only received a voicemail on the 2nd and never spoke to anyone. He said I can talk to sales and place the order again at which point I told him I will be taking my business elsewhere.
On top of all that customer service is not professional. Not once did they identify who they were (either company or individual). It was just "How can I help you?" I encourage anyone not to waste their time with these people. You are better off spending a little more somewhere else to assure quality service.
For what it's worth I was never pressured into buying any highly overpriced accessories."
"Possibly the world's worst customer service.
It isn't even worth attempting to deal with this company. Don't try. You will be sorry.
We are a business customer, D&B rated - trying to pay with a debit card.
They will change the order terms or try and upsell you to something else.
These are probably the same scammers that operate AMPHOTOWORLD.com / BestChoiceDigital.com and expresscameras.com
This company knows absolutely nothing about customer service.
STAY AWAY FROM all of them.
What a joke.
Truly one of the worst companies in America and a slap in the face to hard working New Yorkers everywhere - to have these morons operating in the great state of NY"
