"This the worst on line store next to AM Photo. They call you up they say to just check on your address. Then they try to sell you something. Then they ask you what type of extended service i wanted. To up grade to the US model. When I said I did not want the extra service .They told me my camera will arrive 7 to 10 WEEKS. Because its comming from another country. On the web site it does state thats it comming from another country. This place makes me so mad, I wish I could report them to the BBB."
"Crooks. i ordered a Minolta Z5 because it was much cheaper. As others have said, i got an e-mail 1 hour later asking for accessories. I say no, then the call ends. I get another e-mail two days later, saying that the product is backordered, but if i want the "american premium version" it can be shipped tomorrow, but of course for $50 extra.
the guy is talking fast, doesn't want to slow down, and is trying to rush me off the phone. i agree, but 2 seconds later, think its a scam, so i call back to cancel the order. then i go to digitalliquidators(the first order was with AM Photo), after being on hold for 5 mins, the guy hangs up on me immediately after saying they don't have any Z5's in stock.
then i'm about to buy it on Broadway photo, when i start looking for a promotional code, i come across this site. thank god for others who post when people are crooked. i totally agree that am photo, broadway photo, and digital liquidators are all the same entity, full of crooks trying to scam. stay far away. damn shame google can't remove them.

"I was astonished at the unethical behavior that I encountered over the phone by someone working at this 'store'. In short I did not wind up placing an order since it became clear that this was an extremely unprofessional and possibly illegal operation. I was called a number of vulgar and obscene insults before hanging up. I am disappointed that there are not more protections like this web site around to help consumers. Please do not consider engaging in business with Broadway Photo."
"After being scammed in much the same manner as everyone else last November, I have made it my hobby to get back at these people. At first all I wanted was for them to credit my credit card for the $100 difference between the agreed upon price and the amount on the invoice. After speaking to many rude people, this wasn't going to happen. I then reported them to the FTC, BBB, atty general of NY, and 7 on your side, in addition to disputing with my credit card company. Last week I received a call from Ilene at Digital Liquidators, saying she received a letter from the atty general and wanted to resolve the problem. When I talked to her, she said how about if I credit you $100? How about that? That's what I wanted in the first place. But by this time I didn't trust them or their merchandise (I hadn't even used the camera and printer I received from them. I wanted to wait until the matter was cleared in one way or another.) I told her all I wanted now was to return everything for a full refund. She said I could do that. I said I shouldn't have to pay for shipping. They sent me a refurbished printer and I purchased a new one. I didn't even have to legally return it. When I told her that she agreed to pay shipping and gave me her Fed Ex number. I immediately took it off to Kinko's and got rid of it. What a relief to have that nightmare over!"
"In Shutterbug Magazine I saw an ad for Digital Liquidators, offering cameras at very low prices. I saw the Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro listed at $679 in the March 2005 edition Pg 103. I called digitalliquidators.com and ordered this camera on my credit card. The sales rep, Benji tried to sell me accessories, which were very high priced, much higher than normal retail. I told him I'd buy them afterwards. The price on the web was listed at $1279 for the same camera - double the magazine price. The next day, I tracked order # 3800-3263 on the web, and saw it was cancelled. I read some of the reviews on this merchant, and I'm very glad I didn't have any dealings with them. I will be alerting the State Attorney General's Office in NY and CA to report this, as well as the FCC which I believe regulates the airwaves. Its important to report these con men - they are mugging us on the internet. Its no different from other crimes. I will also report this to Shutterbug Magazine so they will not be able to advertise with them any more. The penalty for false advertising is stiff, and punitive damages are awarded. I would encourage everyone to pursue legal redress with their State Atty Gen's office. Let's put digitalliquidators.com out of business.

"Same story as all the others. Complete fraud. Sketchy price deals, denial of prices when I called back (after they had charged more than I confirmed on the phone at time of purchase), order shipped with less than I ordered, customer service "closed" during times I'd previously been told they were open, never any managers on had to speak to, said they would let me return camera but never e-mailed me the "return code" as promised, called back and was told I couldn't return it...the list goes on and on.
I feel helpless but this company needs to be stopped. Anything we can do? Plese contact me. "
"These people are obviously just scam artists. They also go by the name Broadway Photo. My artist bought a camera and experienced the same bull everyone else is talking about, so I'm not going to repeat what is essentially the same story. When I heard about it I immediately went to the internet to check up on them and in a few minutes realized we had been scammed.
I am only posting this to make everyone aware that it is EASY to have this taken off your credit card. Simply call your credit card company to dispute the charge, complete the forms they will mail you and it's a done deal. We had all charges removed that were over and above the quoted price for the basic camera. The shipping, the "extended-life" battery that doesn't really exist, and the warranty, all came off the charge.
I too wish my artist had done his homework first, but the good news is they can't get away with this unless you let them.
And don't even bother calling them or accepting their call - they don't deserve one more minute of your time. Just dispute the excess fees and the fees will disappear. At least that's our experience."
"I came to this site late in my order but it has helped me to contest a part of my order with american Express. I am waiting on the verdict but for now it seems to be going well. Especially since there are so many accounts of the same thing happening to other people.
The one lucky thing that i got that others seemed to not have gotten was an actual invoice for what i originally ordered so that i could show what i thought i was ordering in comparison to what was charged to me in the end.
The only reason i got my camera as i had wanted was because i took was bagered into the greatly overpriced extended warranty. They lied to me and told me the camera did not come with a warranty, It took me a while to believe them but eventually i decided to go with the warranty. They said that the warranty was $50 a year and i had to get a three or five year plan. I ended up getting agreeing to the three year (if i hadn't it seems that my camera would have suddenly been considered out of stock) So i got the camera with an invoice that overcharged even the quoted $50 a year by $30. i have contested the issue with american express and hopefully i will get just the camera without all the upsell.
If i had found this site sooner in my buying process i would not have ordered from them because they do not deserve the business. The price is cheap but that is because it is not the real price and since they lie and badger their customers it is best to deal with a reputable company.
Also keep in mind there are several other named companies that follow the same process and i am sure direct you to the same call center in brooklyn. I think USAphoto is one and maybe androma. Basically if you are quoted a price then you have to call to confirm don't bother with that company. "
"Went online to buy a Kodak CX7430 for a Christmas gift.Found a website with Digitalliquidators ad for one at $155.00.I thought that was a good deal seeing as how they were $199.99 at Office Depot and Wal-Mart.So I ordered 2 online and was told to call them to confirm my order. I called and was told that the camera at that price was the Japanese models with the instructions in Japanese. In order to get them with English, I would have to pay an additional $10.00 each. I figured at $165.00 I was still getting a good deal until I got the cameras with the invoice, which came to $370.00 plus $20.oo for S.H.I.P. fees for a total of $390.00. When I called them to complain about the overcharge, they tried to say that I had given them the ok for the "Christmas Package",which I did not. When I told them I was going to have my Federal Credit Union take care of the matter for me they deposited a refund of $40.00 back into my account. But when I opened the boxes to check the condition of the cameras, the welcome kits that come with the cameras had been opened and the users guide was missing. When I called them about the guides missing, they tried to tell me that they cost extra. Ithen told them that Kodak includes them with the camera free.Digitalliquidators is a shell company of Broadway Photo and A&M Photo and they all use the old Bait and switch.I am completly dissatisfied with them and would never buy from them again. Everyone should stay away from all three companies."
"Here's what happened:
I visited MySimon.com to search for vendors selling the Pentax S5i digital camera. Digital Liquidators had the lowest price and naturally, I visited their site.
The camera was listed for 259.xx and freight was for 9.xx for a total of 268.xx. I placed my order and similar to a lot of others who left a review here, I received an e-mail stating that I had to call them for verification purposes.
When I called, the person offered me an extra battery for 69.xx I said no until he offered it for only 49.xx. I asked if it were an original Pentax battery and the person said "yes". He offered me an extended warranty which ended up going only for a dollar.
The supposed total of 318.xx became 330.xx. And, guess what, the battery was not an original Pentax as the person I talked to claimed. I called their customer service to return the battery. The person who I talked to was not very helpful and even told me that I couldn't have heard that the battery was an original since they did not sell originals. I know what I heard though since I was very specific with my question then.
I returned the battery as good as new, package unopened, and I got refunded only for 42.50 (as against 49.xx) and called customer service again. After a strenous talk, they told me they'll refund $8.xx for me. Thy insisted that the difference is for re-stocking and I insisted why I should get charged for something that isn't my fault!
After two weeks, I haven't received any refunds and called their customer service once more. Unfortunately, I talked to a rude person giving me alibies that does not even relate to the argument. He even called me "greedy" for wanting my money back which I believe is totally unfair and uncalled for.
For principle's sake, I called my bank and sent a dispute for the difference, $7.49 (49.99 - 42.50) as well as the amount they originally overcharged me for, $10.00. I encourage everyone else who had and will have negative experience/s with this vendor to do the same.
I strongly believe, being a website designer, programmer & SEO consultant myself that the Internet should be rid of these kinds of e-vendors.
Thank you!"
"google searched my item and everyprice.com had lowest price at digital liquidators(lower then costco, wal-mart and target). so they claimed they had it in stock and i ordered. next i got an email saying to call for verification purposes, i called and they told me it was backordered and i canceled. two days later went back to their site and they still had it in stock. i called to make sure it was in stock and the guy told me they had it and to order online. i ordered again and the same thing happened. CROOKS! i never got my camera, had to order and cancel a total of four times! twice them and twice with amphotoworld.com"
"Here is my experience:
Being the bargain hunter I immediately go to MySimon. com, type in my search for 'Canon Powershot A85'. I get a price range from $229-293 but I notice one of the sponsers is www.digitalsavers.com which claims to compare prices from 1000s of vendors. So I click on the link and am wearing rose-colored glasses as I see that Digital Liquidators has it listed for $199(2 days later it is up to $204). I click on the Buy button so I can check out the store website and read all the information on the camera. Website looks professional and I make sure to check for the various emblems such as certified merchants and secure site logos. At this point I feel the store is pretty legit. I order the camera after making sure that it is not refurbished or used. Of course I'm wondering how they can sell the camera that I found at Target.com $280 for $199 but when I see that their listed accesories are extremely high priced, I figure thats how they make there money. For example, a 256mb flash card was listed for $159, at Target they sell it for $29.99.
So, I add the camera for $199 to my shopping cart. I select overnight shipping listed for $29.99. To submit my order I click on the button. This is usually where you get an order summary showing total price and a confirmation number. We’ll all you get once you submit order is an order number. Unless you print out the invoice before clicking submit order, you have no proof for your records(making it difficult to provide documentation to your credit card later)
An hour later I get the an email stating that:
For verification purposes, please call our customer service department at 1-***-***-**** ext. 766, in order for us to proceed and process your order.
Please have your order number ready when you call.
So I call the listed number. Heres how it goes:
Guy who calls himself Bernie(total New York accent, obviously a foreign type. The sound of his voice screams pudgy, with an abnormal amt of black curly back hair): Whats your order number?... Ok, (my name) I see you ordered the Canon Powershot A85.
Me: Yes
Hairy, New Yorker: Ok, well I have a special package in which you get a warranty, tripod, lens cleaning kit for Blah, Blah, Blah. for $$$. Are you interested?
Me: No thank you. I’m just ordering the one camera.
Hairy Guy: Well, (my name)You a first-time customer?
Me: Yes.
HG: W'ell since you are a new customer, I will offer you the package for just a dollar. You get the mini tripod, lens cleaning kit and warranty for $1
Me: JUST $1. You are telling me that all I need to do is pay only $1 more to get the tripod, warranty and cleaning kit?
HG: Yeah, your a first time customer, want to make you happy.
ME(thinking I don't care about that crap, but $1? Can't go wrong.) Ok I'll get it if it is only $1.
HG: Ok, thank you. The order should reach you by tomorrow.
Next day, I open the box and look at the invoice and I notice that the camera I bought for $199 is listed on the invoice for $299.99. I was overcharged $29.99
So I call the 1-800 number listed on the website, after a fairly long hold time I talk to a guy.
I explain that I was overcharged by 29.99. He looks up my order and says,"That is because you got the warranty, tripod and lens cleaning kit". I explained the conversation with the Bernie guy, and he replies, “I don't know what you heard but there is no way that we would give all that away for $1. It's not feasible. You got all that stuff, the warranty..."
I said the warranty is not even something that costs extra to begin with. All new cameras come with warranties. Him, "No, These are unwarranted cameras."
Anyway the conversation goes downhill from there with him getting more con artist-like. I tell him I just want to return the order and he tries to stop me by pointing out that I wouldn't be refunded my $30 Shipping charge, so I basically would be losing the $30 that I'm fighting for anyways. (See how they already thought this all out) He tries to bargain with me that if I don't return it he will refund me $15 and send me a camera bag. At this point, I tell him," Basically I was offered one deal from your business before, that later turned out to be a lie, and now you want me to trust you enough to make the same mistake by accepting a false offer on the phone again?" That made him really mad. But he eventually gave me a cancellation number .
The final outcome- I decided to keep the camera because 1) the cancellation number he gave me could be bogus and if I returned the camera I'd risk them lying about ever receiving the returned camera. So I'd lose all that money and still be left without a camera and 2) The $30 overcharge that I was fighting for would be lost even if I got my refund because they don't refund shipping charges, so I'd still be out $30 anyways.

"placed my order , received a confirmation.next
day i had to call customer service and was abused and pushed to purchase other addons.(they refused to give the items that are included in the manufacturers box.they wantted to charge me!)
when i refused to buy extras, they told me that they were out of stock, BAIT AND SWITCH!!!!!
STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY"
"Unethical and possibly actionable behavior. They refuse to ship order without talking on the phone where the try to sell. After confirming I didn't want accessories they said they'd ship right away but product was no show for several weeks. When I called they said the product had been discontinued and I would need to order some other model - false the model CanonA95 is very popular and widely available."
"This is a bait and switch shop! I wanted to order a fairly expensive video camera from them as they had the best price I could find online. I placed the order online. The dreaded "you have to call us" email arrived, and I called them. They wanted to confirm the order and upsell me on additional equipment (extremely overpriced). In order to get me to buy a spare battery they LIED about the battery supplied with the camera. Claimed that the supplied battery would only last for 15 minutes. In fact, it lasts for the better part of 2 hours! The battery they were trying to sell me was the same as the supplied battery. The asking price was 7 times (sic!) what you can buy it for elsewhere!
Furthermore, since I didn't want to buy additional equipment from them, all of a sudden the video camera was out of stock! I had called and checked stock status before I ordered the video camera online. Plenty in stock when I called... I waited for a month before I gave up. I had a friend of mine call them to ask about the same video camera and whether it was in stock or not. When he called they had plenty in stock! DON'T ORDER FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!!
Don't trust the 'certification' sites they claim to have been certified by. They're in on the scam too..."
