"BAIT AND SWITCH -- need I say more? Well, okay. 1. They do not answer their phone. 2. The web site shows items included and total price b4 tax, but then they tell you that is not included and you need to buy this and this. The more you say no the more they push and tell you the camera won't work. 3. Try to cancel your order, they claim it is already sent so you will be charged a restock fee for something you never received."

"I ordered a new Panasonic Lumix camera from bwayphoto.com because the price was quite good. The salesman who took my order told me it came "only with a starter battery" and tried to upsell an extra battery for $69....I sai no thanks. He quoted me $45 for next-day delivery, which I agreed to even though it sounded high. Two days later, camera still had not gotten to me, I started researching the company and found this site.

That night, I did get a tracking number for UPS Ground. I was exgtremely nervous for the next week after reading the reviews on this site, and was just happy that I did get the camera, new in box, and that all I was out was the $34 overcharge for nect-day shipping.

I emailed them, they responded that the "email department" of their customer relations dept could not handle my request, I had to call. When I called them, the customer service rep said I had to talk with my salesperson, and he transferred me to that persons voicemail. I never got a return call.

As I said, I feel lucky that I only got "taken" for $35. I was more upset that I had to wait for a week to get the camera.

"Purchased a camera from Digital Liquidators on December 18, 2004. Received a confirmation call from the vendor the following day. However, I was not at home so the caller left a message describing the purchase, which was supposed to be a present for my wife and which ruined the surprise. I called back the representative from Digital Liquidators and he said that everything was OK. During each of the next 4 days I received emails saying that I had to contact Digital Liquidators to confirm the order before thay could ship. Each time I responed with the message that I had already talked with someone there. Finally I told them to cancel the order. Then despite my request to cancel, they shipped the item which I received the day before Christmas by which time we were already out-of-town. When I received my credit card bill in January, they had charged me $10 more than the camera was advertised for. I this point I am disputing the additional charge with my credit card company."

"Stay away from this company. My problems are carbon copy to all the ones that I've read on this site. I went to buy a Nikon D70. I specifically asked if the $699.99 price on their web site was for a gray market camera. They said no. I then asked if the price was before or after the $100 rebate from Nikon. They said after the rebate and proceeded to charge me $799.99. The used lies and high pressure sales tactics to sell me over priced memory and a charger. When I received my order, the camera was indeed a gray market camera. I couldn't get anyone of manager status to talk to me about returning the product. They were abusive and called me a lier and that I knew it would be gray market. Finally I got to get them to return the product but was socked with a $240 restocking fee. I have and I encourage all of you with problems with this company to 1) immediately call your credit card company and dispute the bill. They can't get your money. 2) contact the Better Business Bureau of New York. Amazing how many complaints they have for Broadway Photo. 3) Contact Nikon if it is a Nikon product or the manf if another product. 4) Contact the Dept of Consumer Affairs of New York. They are investigating my claim.

This has to stop, but unless people complain to the authorities, they will continue to do business unethically.

"Please do not order from Broadway Photo. It is difficult to talk to anyone. When you do, all they want to do is sell you more products. Although they advertised that my item was in stock, I waited a month and still did not receive it. I finally canceled the order and called to confirm they received my online cancellation. The man said that he had and hung up on me! I ordered the product online somewhere else and received it 2 days later."

"When I called DigitalLiquidators to verify my order the customer service rep tried to sell me a battery and charger. He told me the camera did not come with a rechargeable battery. I refused and the camera came with a rechargeable battery and charger. If I had bought they would have charged me for an item that came with the camera. Watch these clowns closely if you buy from them."

"DON'T WAISTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE GUYS.
I ordered a camcorder from their website part of it because their advertised price said free shipping. But when I received the email order confirmation they added $22.17 for shipping and handling. I was ok with that but when I called them to confirm my order, I was pressured into buying accessories. After I told the saleman that I'm not ready to purchase any accessories for it yet. He told me that "You don't have to say no because you're chinese." I informed him that I'm not chinese and the answer is still no. He then told me that my new total is $30 more than the original total on the email order confirmation. When I asked him why, he said that my S&H is now $52.17 instead of $22.17.
NEVER BUY FROM THESE RACIST CROOKS AGAIN.

"Hi everyone! DO NOT BUY FROM BROADWAY PHOTO, A&M PHOTOWORLD, DIGITAL LIQUIDATORS as these are all the same business with the same tricks and cons. They actually have a few more of these businesses under different names to try to flood and confuse consumers. Stick with a trusted store such as B&H. I checked that the Canon XM2 was in stock, it was i was told several times (including from the website).I purchased a Canon XM2 pal from Bway on the 5th of January. Got an email saying they could not accept international credit cards. Had to provide another, i did this then they told me it was not the right card number which it was. They just wanted an excuse for me to ring them. I didn't ring them, i emailed them and confirmed the number was correct. I then heard nothing, 2 weeks of hearing nothing i recieved a email saying "We need to confirm you address". I rang them and confirmed the address. They then attempted to tell me that i should purchase another battery off them as the supplied one was only a 18 minute demo battery. Turned out it was not this, it was a 60 minute battery. I said no, i was happy with a 18 minutes battery, they then tried to sell me other overpriced accessories, I told them that i could not afford any extra accessories. The man i was speaking to got extremely rude and angry. I ignored this and told him i just wanted the camera thanks. He hung up on me. One hour later i recieved a email saying "The camera is not in stock and is backordered". I then rang them pretending i was a potential customer and asked whether or not the Canon XM2 was in stock. They said it DEFINATELY was, i got stuck into them about it and then after the man worked out who it was, he then said, "oops, your right, the camera is not in stock". I then called again later from another phone (they have called ID and will not answer if they know it is you). They said it was in stock. I cancelled the order. BEWARE OF THEM, DO NOT SHOP AT BWAY OR THEIR OTHER BUSINESSES!!! You can not take a chance, they DO NOT actually sell cameras at the prices they state, you have to purchase the overpriced accessories or you will never see the product. Hope i have warned others of this shocking company, where i come from (in Australia) this would NEVER be legal."

"WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING AT BROADWAY PHOTO. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND WILL INSULT YOU AS MUCH AS THEY CAN!
I had ordered a Canon G6 digital camera from Broadway Photo. Their price was one of the lowest on the net, $529 + $20 shipping ground UPS (this s/h price is way too high but I figured I was getting a great deal on the camera. I also ordered a table-top tripod for $50. The picture showed a nice heavy duty table tripod that I figured was worth $50. I have never bought a tripod before but needed one to take macro pictures. There was a review site that I now know is linked with Broadway Photo, that showed some positive reviews. I placed the order online and got an Email to call the sales person the next day. This is when the nightmare began. And I want to say that I have never ever been treated this way in ANY type of business setting. I called and got the sales guy right away, no waiting. He asked for order number and immediately started pushing accessories on me. Batteries, kits, chargers, you name it. I refused everything because I know Canon makes excellent products and I would not need anything extra to get me started. I declined all and asked can I just get the camera and the tripod? He said sure, as long as I didnt mind the fact that the camera did not come with a warranty from the manufacturer and that it was a grey market item. I became confused and told him I wanted a USA market camera. He said ok bu now s/h will be $50 instead of what their site said ($20). This "sales man" by the way was extremely rude, insulted me a few times, called me stupid for not buying some starter kit and said he didn't have time to deal with me because he had other customers on the other line. I became furious and asked to speak to a manager. One came on the line and in a sugary voice apologized for the sales guy's behavior and offered me $20 off. I said "I want to cancel the order" but he said it was too late as it was already processed! Even though it has only been a couple of minutes...I started to feel red in the face and my blood pressure went up. I figured it was not worth it to have a heart attck over this so I said "fine" and hung up. So now I was waiting for the gray market camera and the nice tripod to arrive. I checked my order status and it was still not shipped 2 days later. I called and they told me it eill be going out the next day. It did ship, and I got the box 2 days later. It was a very small and very light weight box and in no way in hell could it cost $50 to ship. ABout $7 would be more accurate. I opened the box and found inside a tiny little plastic piece of crap tripod (which I later saw at Staples for $7.99) and I paid $50 for. The camera on the other hand was in perfect sealed box and it was not a gray market item, it was a US model with full warrabty and serial numbers that I registered online. Nothing was missing, and everything was brand new. I understand now how those f**ckers operate. If you order the overpriced extras, you will receive the camera you want. If you don't order the crap, you will get zilch. So to make a long story short, my grand total was $608 for the G6, and the crappy tripod including s/h. This is the same price I could have gotten from Dell.com and from most other reputable dealers. And I would not have been yelled at, and insulted...Bottom line, do not buy from these A**holes. They will rip you off and insult you and strong arm you into buying overpriced useless products. I am very happy with the Canon G6 BUT WILL NEVER EVER GO NEAR BROADWAY PHOTO AGAIN, EVER! If you buy from them after reading these reviews, you deserve what you get from them. I wish I had read all these reviews before I bought.

"Ordered a Canon Digital Rebel which they advertised for about $100 less than anywhere else. Got an email telling me to call for address verification. When I got someone on the line they told me that to ship to a PO box I would have to pay an extra $20 and that I would still have to pay $29.95 for the overnight UPS charge as well. When I asked why I had to pay a UPS overnight charge when they were shipping by USPS and not by overnight service, the clerk got mad and began insulting me. I tried to calm him down so I could ask about these double shipping charges and he got more and more insulting. I finally told him to forget it.
I also found a similar price at a company called Digital Liquidators and went through the same hassle. Turns out that these two companies are one and the same.

"I ordered a digital camera from Broadway on January 14. Then I got the "upsell" email, but when I tried to call them, I got a voicemail. After reading the order form that said that the price they quoted me "might not be final" and that I would not know the real price until I received the package, I came to this site and read all of the reviews. I immediately emailed Bway to cancel the order, but they did not respond. So I called and waited on hold for 20 minutes. When I got through, I told the rep that I wanted to cancel my order and he began shouting at me. When I told him that I wasn't comfortable with the fact that the price wasn't final, he told me that's not what the wording on the document said. So I read it to him word for word. At that point, he yelled at me again and hung up on me. Later I did get a note from Bway that the order has been cancelled, but I don't trust that it's true. I will be watching my credit card statement carefully. DO NOT order anything from this company; they have no right to be in business. I thank all of you who wrote reviews trying to warn others--hopefully my mistake was caught in time."

"RESELLER RATINGS is great for consumer action, but for goverment awarenes, go to the BBB website and file a complaint also.

A copy of the complaint made with the BBB:
COMPLAINT 1. Initial ordered on the internet. Order was verified telephonically by “Rupert” then confirmed. Rupert stated the item is brand new, US, and original OEM retail item. He quoted a price of $303.99 (Delivered). On Monday, December 20, 2004 11:01hrs I received confirmation email from Broadway photo stating same. December 21, 2004 my credit card showed charge of $422.79. I called/emailed multiple times leaving messages for Rupert or anyone to call me to resolve this matter. No call or returned email. 31 December 2004 I spoke with “Andy.” He stated reason for higher price: add extended warranty on manufacturing defects. I told him I did not purchase the warranty. He became very angry and began to yell at me on the phone. Stating that I was a liar and rude, and “what goes around comes around.” I told him I was an officer in the US Army and remained civil, it was extremely hard, but I had to get my money back. He also said “who the hell do you think you are calling here demanding things.’ I replied, I am your customer. After some time of talking with him, and kissing up to him, I convinced him to take the product back. He offered to credit me $50, I denied his request. I told him I did not want to do business with his company and it would be better if I could return the item. I asked for a RMA, he gave me one (205170). The agreement was, I would pay to ship the product back and Broadway Photo would refund all $422.79. The item was mailed on 31 December 2004 (USPS insured tag number: VF086903963US). My credit card has not been credited any money. COMPLAINT 2. The item that I received had Japanese writing all over the box, no English. The manual inside was a photocopy. Andy told me that is how they received the product from Sony. I told him Sony does not ship photocopy manuals. I bought the camera from Wal-Mart and verified what should have come with the camera from Broadway photo. Missing 9 items. The camera box did not contain the software CD, notes on batteries, software support documents, important safeguard documents, accessories catalog, warranty information, start guide, and coupon for future Sony purchases.
SUMMARY: Broadway Photo lied about the product, overcharged my credit card, charged me for items I never requested nor received. They were rude and unprofessional. It took all my military bearing to keep civil. They should be shut down for such dishonest practices, in the mean time I will settle for my full refund.

At a minimum; a full refund of $422.79, as promised. Preferred; also a written apology from the company for the rude behavior of their representative. That is no way to treat soldiers.
THE WORST RETAILER I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.

"If you are reading this before purchasing from bwayphoto.com, do not purchase from this store. If you are reading this immediately after making a purchase, cancel your order right now.
This is the first time I have felt the need to write one of these reviews, but if it serves to help others from being misled it is worth my time. I placed an order for a Sony DCR-DVD 301 camcorder. A couple of days after placing the order I received a call from salesman 67 205 wanting to verify my address. I was glad that he called because it gave me the opportunity to double check my order and make sure that I had a product that was compatible with my daughter's IMAC. Not only did #67 205 assure me that the item was compatible but proceeded to give a sales pitch. After that sales pitch, I got a high pressure pitch for additional warranty services. I couldn't seem to get him to let go of that one. Finally he moved on to which camera case I wanted to order, the standard or the deluxe. and I ended up with a bill for $2,759.99. Nothing is detailed so I do not know how much I have paid for each individual item!!!!
What attracted me to their store to begin with was the fact that the camera was offered for under $800.00. The worst part is that the salesperson assured me it was IMAC compatible when it is not and my daughter cannot use it with her system. When we called after the holidays (Jan 10)to return it, we were told that too much time had gone by for a return. I was overseas for the holidays. My daughter got her camera on Three Kings Day which is January 6th. I feel I have been misguided, ill adviced and fooled.
Never again will I deal with Broadway Photo and I'll tell my friends and relatives the same. I also plan to write a note to the American Express Company and the Better Business Bureau to tell them about this experience with Broadway Photo.
