"These guys are VERY slick. I got an email
from them promoting "free shipping" and
decided to give them a try. After putting
in my credit card info and getting the confirmation
that the order was good, I got another email
that told me to call. I called and they smoothed
over the order (so I thought!). The camera
was listed as IN STOCK both in the shopping filter
sites and on their website and when I called,
they also led me to believe that it was in stock
and on order. A week later, I checked my credit
card info and they did NOT bill me; then I checked
the TRACKING info on their site and discovered that it was on BACK ORDER. I called again and
the customer service person was totally clueless,
except to tell me that it was on back order and
would be available in 3-6 weeks! He did say they
would call me when it came in and I could decide
if I still wanted it at that time. I am now looking for an alternative vendor as this nonsense is unacceptable, unless they decide to suddenly discover that the DO have it in stock."
"This company is unethical and commited fraud. I purchased a Canon camera along with an extended warrenty. I wasn't interested in the extended warrenty, but I bought it when they told me it covered accidental damage. The MACK warrenty they sold me does not cover accidental damage. I purchased a "high speed" CF card, but they delivered a regular speed card instead still charging me for the high speed card.
Do not do business with this company. "
"BEWARE! They are bunch of crooks that run a multitude of related and ever-changing on-line stores based in Brooklyn NY. Their "too good to be true" prices also attracted my attention. However, I did my homework before ordering:

My advice: call them BEFORE placing any order and you will find out exactly what I did: if it's too good to be true, it probably is.
"
"They over-inflate shipping, force you to call to complete the order, and then actually lie to talk you into buying extra products. People who have not done their research are easy victims and I consider this fraud."
"Wished I had read the reviews prior to ordering. Ordered via net. Got e-mail to call. Upon calling received false information - e.g. Digital camera did not come with compactflash, my current compact flash would not work with the new camera, battery was not included with DV Camcorder. Ended up paying an additional $340 for $78 worth unneeded extras. Tried to return - would not take back. Said with the extras, order was a package deal. Gave the problem to American Express to deal with. Hopefully they will have better luck! BELIEVE THESE REVIEWS! THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!"
"I wish I had found this website before ordering my Sony DSC V3. I received the camera with a $99.99 shipping and handleing fee added to my order. When I called to dispute the charges, they went into this long explanation of how they ship items with extra costs to insure that the camera is in good condition when it arrives(It came 3 days UPS). After talking to them and being insulted and frustrated by their tectics I said I wanted a RAM number so that I could return the product. They had the odesity to say they were charging me $279.85 to return it (they called this a restocking fee, by the way, this included the $99.99 non-refundable shipping).
I cannot believe that these crooks are still in business. I will definetly write the BBB and the New York Attorney General. These people are ruthless, insulting, liers and this company should not be allowed to do business with the public. It is companies like these that give other companies a bad rep."
"The store had very attractive prices and I wanted to buy Sony camcorder for over 200$ less than at any other store. I read ratings at resellerratings.com and they were very bad. Because the price was very incentive I decided to give them the chance. I mentioned in the order that if they do their job well I will improve their ratings. I am sorry they did not seize this opportunity. After 2 days of attempts to call them for the confirmation of the order they said that they did not have this camcorder for the price listed on the web page. The price was similar to an average price of the internet store, so I decided to cancel my order and to make a purchase on the more reliable internet store."
"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS RETAILER. I am absolutely amazed at how a fraudulent retailer like this one can survive and (judging by the the other comments here) be so consistently fraudulent, deceitful, rude, insulting, and manipulative.
A quick rundown of my order, and a warning (call it a "chronology of lies"):
1. Their website lists the camera at 20% less than retail price. Under "included accessories" it lists a 1 year warranty (lie #1) and battery; no indication at all that this is a foreign gray-market import (lie #2).
2. Clicked "buy", created an account, only to find that shipping was $50 by UPS ground (crazy). Being like everyone else in the world--i.e. on a budget--I closed my browser and thought it over.
3. 2 minutes later I receive an e-mail from them saying "free UPS ground shipping on your next order" (a bit sus in itself). I say, oh well, it's cheap, and place the order.
4. Next I receive an e-mail saying "to verify the order I need to call a sales representative" (I buy everything online, and I've NEVER heard of this practice) but I give them the benefit of the doubt and call in.
5. Am placed on the line with an incredibly rude, bullying, manipulative, and insulting sales rep who firstly tells me that I needed to call in because my shipping address is different to my billing (lie #3; I buy from Amazon, buy.com, etc. and routinely have items shipped to different addresses from my billing--how else would one send direct gifts!?). I'm puzzled at this, and the rude sales rep snaps "didn't you read the e-mail we sent you?"; to date I have only received that one e-mail saying nothing other than I needed to call a sales rep to verify my order (no reasons given).
6. Obnoxious sales rep then tries to sell me additional accessories in an extremely agressive and bullying way. I say no to everything, this whole time in absolute awe at how rude and agressive he is. He tells me that I need to buy a "long life" battery for my camera because my camera doesn't come with a battery at all (lie #4), and knowing full well that it does (it's even listed on their website as included), I say no again, and he sneers something like "then what are you going to use your camera for if it doesn't have a battery".
7. Rude sales rep then casually asks me if I want to stick to the US version or switch to the Japanese import. WHAT!!?! The penny drops for their gray-maket bait-and-switch--it's of course revealed that the US version costs two hundred bucks more than the listed price. I should have ended things there but, considering a $200 cheaper import may not be all bad, I tell him in that I might go with the cheaper Japanese version. He then tells me that it would not only take 8+ weeks to be imported, but that it would have no warranty, and the camera's menu would be in Japanese. I say "that's crazy" and tell him that the only reason I ordered from them was because of the listed price, and because the product is now different (i.e. bait-and-switch/fraudulent advertising), everything is now changed and I'd have to reconsider ordering anything at all from them. He then tries to bully me by saying stuff like "why won't you pay more for the US one?" and "who would want to buy a camera that you can't read?" (which begs the question who would want to sell one?), all in a very offensive tone.
8. By now I'm at the ultimate limit of my patience and tell him to cancel my order immediately. He snaps that I can't cancel my order because it's too late (lie #5). (Again, I've never heard of such a policy at any online retailer, so I ask him again, and he gives the same reply.) I tell him if it's ships I'll return it, and he says they charge 10% of the cost to process a return.
9. I then ask to speak to a manager who is in charge of their policies, and he says he is the sales manager, and asks what I want to do. I tell him for the third time to cancel my order. And he says "fine, I'll cancel your order" and hangs up on me.
10. I called my credit card company to advise them that I canceled this order and that any charge from Broadway Photo would be fraudulent. For what it's worth, these scam-artists did cancel my order, as seen on the order's "status" on their website.
A horrible, and completely unnecessary experience. I'm relieved to read other poster's remarkably similar comments here, as it means that I'm not alone in having my day polluted by obnoxious money-hungry scam artists. Someone should crack down on these guys. Should have found this forum earlier!"
"Whatever you do, NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE. Read all other reviews. This is classic bait and switch scam. I am lead to believe that these following stores may possibly be linked to the same shady company. Beware:
1. A&M PhotoWorld
2. Broadway Photo
3. Digital Liquidators
4. SuperPixDigital

"Do not buy from these people. Bate and switch. PanasonicPV-GS400 camcorder quoted $999 by both Jason and Rudy. Same price on website. Dec issue DV mag p.91 $949. I ordered and they invoiced me $1199. Called salesman twice, left message to call, was never called. Called customer service on 2 different days. Was told I had received intl version and that costs more. Ads are for grey market merchandise, altho NEVER so indicated. Would not adjust. I am filing complaint with BBB and state Attorney general. Rude people. Hard upsell on overpriced accesories. Didn't read this site prior to ordering. My error and lesson. How do these people stay in business."
"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY LIED TO ME. DONALD @ EXT 253 SOLD ME AN EXTRA BATTERY AND CHARGER FOR THE JVC HD1 CAMERA I PURCHASED. HE GAVE ME A TOTAL PRICE INCLUDING FREIGHT, OF 2199.99 $. PACKAGE GOT HERE WITH NO EXTRA BATTERY, NO CHARGER, AND I WAS OVERCHARGED BY 149.99 $. REPEATED REQUESTS FOR ADJUSTMENTS HAVE BEEN IGNORED. TRASHY LIARS. COWARDS. I WAS GOING TO BUY ANOTHER HD CAMERA FOR MY UNDERWATER FILMING COMPANY, AND A PLASMA TV. GUESS WHAT? I WILL NOT BUY THEM FROM THIS SORRY OUTFIT. CALL ME FOR DETAILS IF NEEDED. OCEAN IMPACT INC. TF HALE, ***-***-****. THANKS FOR NOT USING THESE CREEPS."
"Thanks to all the folks that took the time to comment here. I am in the market for the Kodak DCS Pro SLR and saw the listing on Bway's site. Thanks to you folks i didn't order from these people and probably saved myself some jail time :)"
"Before reading the reviews on this site I attempted to order a refurbished Canon SD110 from Broadway for the low, low price of $169.99. When I got to the shipping screen and realized that shipping would be $20 I decided not to take my chances and buy a new camera from reputable retailer. A day later I received a free shipping coupon from them and went ahead and ordered the camera. I got an email confirmation for my but a day later received another email stating that a customer service rep needed to talk to me before the order could be shipped. A friend had warned me that they used this tactic to try to "upsell" on accessories. Before I even got around to calling them they called me. I was prepared however, and declined the ridiculously overpriced accessories. The rep finally relented and a said my camera would be shipped. The next day I received a message stating the camera was backordered and my credit card had not been charged. There was also URL within the email to cancel the order. It was at this point that I found this site and got extremely worried. I immediately went to the email and clicked on the link to cancel and as it turns out it was a dead link. I called the customer service number and after a little holding was able to speak with someone who said they cancelled my order. I will certainly be watching my credit card statement as this company seems completely crooked. It seems like the old bait and switch tactic by offering something at a great price that they have no intention of ever selling. I wonder if I had rung up another $150 in accessories would this camera have shipped? By the way, they are still selling this camera as if it were currently in stock...what a sham."
"DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! I ordered a JVC GRDX77 MiniDV Camcorder. After placing the oder, with a credit card, I was sent an email asking to contact the company. ONLY THEN did the salesperson state tht I needed a battery and charger with the camera as it did not come with one. When the package arrived, a charger and battery WERE PART OF THE PACKAGE!! I decided that I did not want it. I called for a return authorization and was charged $104 for a "restocking fee." When I complained that their advertisement stated a 5% restocking fee, it was pointed out that it was a 5% MINIMUM restocking fee and that was charged if you cancelled the order during the checkout process! (As in when you were told the camera had no bettery or charger with it!!!) I sent the camera back and they took 30 additional days to credit my card back.
These people are dishonest, act in bad faith and will take your money if you give them a chance! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!!"
