"The service of this seller is outrageous: I've ordered Sony Cybershot DSC-P93. The company sends me email asking to call the "for verification". When I'm calling them, the agent (Jeff, ext. 731) is trying to sell me add-ons for the higher price in a extremely offensive way ("... why do you need this camera without a kit?...")
Finally, order goes through, but next day I receive an email, stating that "item is backordered". I'm calling DL again and trying to cancel the order. Jeff (again) is trying to sell something more expensive, I insist on canceling, but he hangs up!!! I called again to find out the order status, and it was NOT canceled. Instead, more expensive item was entered as if I ordered it!!!
I called 4 (!) times to cancel the order and speak with a manager. The agent named Jeff, transferred me once to a "manager" named Peter Hong, who gave me huge brush off in the most offensive way ("... why the heck are you calling me, order is canceled, case is closed..."). I'm pretty sure that was just Jeff's buddy, not a manager. I've called an operator, she refuses to give her name, and, instead of transferring me to a manager, transfers me to one of the sales persons!!!
All this business seemes to be just a con scheme."
"this shop is a SCAM.
They will ask you to call them back and then try to sell you other things.

"STAY AWAY! These guys are rude, bullying, rip-off artists. I made some mistakes with them, and should have been tipped off early, but of course, it was a gift and I wanted it quickly.
Most of my experiences echo what you can read elsewhere at this site. I orded a Nikon Coolpix at their web site and got a confirmation by e-mail. I then got a call from them, I thought there might be a problem with the credit card since it was to be shipped to an address other than the billing address. He didn't seem to care about that, he went right into the speil about the foreign warranty and how the batteries would only last 15 to 20 minutes and I needed to buy a set of rechargeable batteries and a charger. I said I already had rechargeable batteries, he said I had the wrong kind - he didn't ask what kind I had. I said I wanted to try the one I had and then come back if they didn't work. He just kept badgering me on and on, until I broke down, figuring I could return it later. He talked me into buying a flash card too, something I knew I would need. He didn't mention prices, the Digital Concepts battery and charger kit they sell for $60, can be found elsewhere for around $20. The memory card they charged me $50 for, can be found for less than $25.
Then, after finding this all out, I did get a call about the conflicting credit card addresses. A way out! I called Broadway to cancel my order, they told me there was a $40 unpacking charge if I canceled my order!
So, I let it go through, figuring I would return the items I didn't want. The order came in, I called Broadway, and they told me I couldn't return individual items, they had bundled everything as a kit and I would have to return everything or nothing. So if I returned everything, I would be out $30 shipping costs for sending it to me, maybe another $15 to send it back, plus a $40 unpacking charge. I'd be out $85 and have nothing to show for it.
So I complained to a couple of representatives. They all wanted to send me a free memory card, I didn't want more stuff, I wanted less! One guy said they would give me a $75 credit on my card - great! I called back a week later to see what happened to my refund, and was told they don't do refunds. So I gave up and accepted the memory card, a $90 value at Broadway, but you can find it elsewhere for about $50.
And rude? One guy went into a speil I had already heard too many times, when I tried to break in after listening for a half minute - "But I don't want that - but I don't want that - but I..." he yelled at me: "THIS IS THE WAY IT WORKS, I GET TO TALK UNTIL I'M FINISHED AND THEN YOU GET TO TALK - GOT IT?!"
STAY AWAY!!"
"comments: This was a very negative on-line shopping experience:
1. The web advertised priced (www.bwayphoto.com) was not the price I was charged for a Minolta Dimage Xg ($225 vs. $299.98).
2. The "web order" required a call back from me to their sales department ***-***-****), which used the opportunity to pressure me for add-on
sales.
3. Bywayphoto charged a premium price for shipping. ($49.99 2 day).
4. I was informed by Bywayphoto that the included battery with the camera would last about 20-30 minutes. I was encouraged to buy an extended life battery, which I did. I received a battery which was exactly the same as the included manufacturer's battery, both rated for about 70 minutes of use.
5. I was encouraged to order a rapid AC charger because I was informed by Bywayphoto that the included manufacturer's charger would charge the battery in 6-8 hours. I ordered the rapid charger, which was described by BywayPhoto as requiring only 2 hours to charge the battery. The included Minolta charger that comes with the camera charges the battery in 90 minutes. Bywayphoto did not ship me the additional charger I ordered and paid for.
7. When I called to resolve these issues, I got the runaround among three departments. Bywayphoto refused to acknowledge that there is no "extended battery" or that I needed a "rapid charger". Customer service was abrupt, condesending, and sarcastic. Bywayphoto refused to refund me the overcharge, and instead offered a free case and extended warranty, neither of which I wanted. They still have not shipped me the additional external rapid charger.
8. When I suggested returning the whole package, they informed me they have a 15% restocking fee (about $45), that I would have to pay my own shipping (at least $20), and I would not be refunded the original shipping charge of $49.99. That's about $115 all told to make a return.
9. I reported this experience to the Better Business Bureau."
"Man, I wish I came here before purchasing from BWayPhoto.com. Reviews from PriceHead.com made this company seem good, but they must have an employee making false reviews.
I ordered an Olympus C5060 because of the attractive price, then recieved the same ol' email telling me to call to "confirm my order." I called, got Greg, who tried pushing all kinds of accessories on me, which I refused politely. Then he got rude and told me the model I purchased was the "Japanese model without the USA warranty" and I would have to spend $50 more for the USA warranty. I told him to cancel my order, he said "Too Late!" I kept arguing with him untill he said "Fine, I'll upgrade you for no charge" then he hung up on me! I'm reporting them to the BBB, and I really hope I dont get ripped off."
"Here is how they rip you off, please be aware: I was looking for a Nikon digital camera that I found at Broadway Photo at a competitive price. I placed my order online and one day later I received an email asking to call them for an issue regarding my order. I called and the rep tried to sell me accessories and other stuff. When told him no, he kept pushing, even told "am I talking to myself, you need this memory card!". I already had that card but he kept pushing. What a bolier room tactic! Then he asked: "do you want the American version or the Asian version?". Confused, I asked I want exactly what I ordered online, nothing more. Asked him if that was US, the guy said yes. Then when I reviewed my credit card bill, I realized that I was chared for $300 more than my original order. When called, I was told that I upgraded from the Asian version to the US version which means extra warranty. Such a rip off, I couldn't cancel it since they told me that it was already shipped. I then checked with Fedex and it was not shipped at that time. I wanted to return it but they charge 15% restocking fee. Now I have a camera which cost me 300K more and I don't even know if it is refurbished or not, the box came open. Never ever buy from these people. "

"Stay far, far away from these people. These are the most arrogant, rude and dishonest sellers I have ever met. Ordered a camera. They sent me an email to "verify" and order. This is an old internet scam that anyone who buys online should know about. There is only one reason orders are "verified"; that is to pull a bait and switch. When I called, they put me on hold for 15 minutes. Rude, rude, rude! Then some guy named Jordan comes on who talks like a male Fran Dresher. I asked him if he shipped and he starts yelling at me that I did not reply fast enough to his email. I told him that he had a valid credit card and what was the real reason for not shipping and he cuts me off and tells me to shut up and listen to him. He then repeats the same thing and tries to upgrade the order. I told him that he should have shipped and he became enraged, loud and demanded that I "apologize" to him for my behavior! I asked him why and he said he would not ship the order unless I gave him a full apology! I still do not have the order and the 3 day delivery time has stretched to 9 days.
If you want to be belittled, embarrassed, humiliated, scammed and harassed, then Broadway Photo is the place to go. "
"MAJOR FRAUD........I GOT RIPPED OFF
Do not buy from this company. I wanted to purchase a canon 300d ONLY. They told me I could buy it at the price mentioned on the web, they took my credit card info, charged me, then called me back and tried to sell me OVER PRICED accessories, when I declined they told me the canon was on back order and could be shipped for another 3 month. (note it's still shows as available on there web site and the price changes daily). When I requested they cancel my order, and refund me they made me pay a 15% cancellation fee for a product they never intended on sending....plus when calling customer service they were rude, and one guy even hung up in my face...This company makes money by scamming people.
DON'T BUY FROM THEM OR YOU"LL GET F@*KED."

" Ok, here it goes:
6/9/04: Broadway Photo advertised Sony Cybershot P100 on shopcartUSA.com for $330 (rec'd rating 4.5 out of 5). Because of the rating I ordered the dig camera from them without knowing that shopcartUSA.com is affiliated with them. ShopcartUSA.com wouldn't post negative comments, the same comment I posted here.
I received an email 10 minutes after I ordered it online, they requested to call them to verify my order. I called them right away, waited about 10 minutes until finally someone answered the phone: sales person said "Please hold!", waited about 8 more minutes. Someone else answered the phone "Can I help you?". Me: "Hi, I ordered a digital camera online and received an email requested to contact Broadway Photo to verify my order". Salesperson transferred my call to someone else, waited another 5 minutes. I started to get a little suspicious about this merchant. 3rd saleperson was finally able to verify my order and asked me to upgrade to US version for $30 more and that the camera is in Japanese version and no US warranty. I asked the guy, "where does it say on your site, the camera is in Japanese version?". The guy rudely interrupted me," do you want to upgrade it to US version?" and I said "no thank you, please cancel my order." Sales person said, "thank you for wasting my time" and hung up on me without giving me a confirmation number. After questioning about warranty and all other extra charges, total cost would be $390 plus shipping, about the same price at an authorized retailers. Well, obviously this merchant uses bait and trap. I had to report my credit card company to monitor this merchant. Anything being charged by this merchant, drastic action will be taken to the fullest extent of the law."
"These people are crooks at Broadway Photo. I bought a Sony DSC-W1 at their price of $359.00. I had been waiting for it to come available, hopefully before I left on vacation. It just did come on the market the week before my trip. I called and asked if they could ship it to me in time for my trip in 10 days time. He said he could ship it to me the next day. It shipped 4 days later. The sales man tried to sell me everything under the sun. He got so pushy, I tried twice, to cancel the order and then he backed off to keep the sale. He told me I should buy a better battery for the camera and I asked him if it was a special battery. He said yes, it has a super-long life. I asked if it was 'proprietary'. He said 'yes'. Unfortunately, in all my researching on cameras, I forgot this one had rechargable AA batteries. The batteries I received in the shipment were Power 2000 AA rechargeable batteries retailing at $14.95. He charged me $59.99 for these special 'proprietary' batteries. He sold me a camera case, which I wanted, for $18.00. When the order arrived there was no mention of a case on the order invoice and no camera case in the package. I wanted a UV filter. He said it needed an adapter. He wanted an outrageous price for the adapter. I refused it. I bought the filter for $29.99 after he came down on the price quite a bit. So in essence, these people are doing a 'bait and switch' technique. They offer a lower price than competitors for the camera and then they inflate the price on the accessories to an extreme. We sent back the accessories today. Now we'll see if they live up to their 'SATISFACTION GUARANTEED' policy and credit our account for the correct amount of money for the accessories. And by the way, even thought no mention of the camera case was on the shipping invoice they charged my credit card as if the item were there. They send an invoice with the whole amount priced as the camera and the accessories don't have a $0.00 dollar value indicated. Now the camera costs $467 plus shipping, rather than $359.00. Another little trick the guy tried to pull was to try to sell me insurance in case UPS damaged the shipment. I refused it so the salesman said he would include it in the shipping price anyway. I also argued him down on the shipping price. I'll never buy anything for these guys again. And, I'll try to put the word out on every review site I can. DANGER, STAY AWAY FROM THIS RETAILER! "
"Every day a sucker is born!!!!
I only found this site after the fact... I knew their reviews were less than perfect but the greed got to me...
I wanted to buy a Pentax Optio S4i - in stock for $289. So I ordered and the guy offered me a "4hour battery" and claimed the original battery lasts only 20 mins. for 35 Dollars. In the end it turned out that he was talking about the battery of a obscure international version - the battery he sent me was a chinese knock-off with LESS capacity (650mAh vs. 710mAh) compared to original. He also talked me into buying a warranty - 3 years for 45$ and he would throw in the 4th year for free. Well, he meant the year that the camera comes with automatically....
But worst of all he charged me $399 - listed as a US version Package - for camera, battery and warranty - flatout 40$ more than what things added up to - and claimed the $289 were for an international edition.... Plus 50 Dollars Shipping. Whoa....
After may attempt I finally got a hold of the guy - was told that I was responsible for return shipping and that they would charge 20% (!) restocking fee....
So I ground me teeth - he gave me $25 refund on my card, send me a 2nd knockoff battery and exchanged the warranty from 3 to 5 years.
Am I happy? No. But that's what you get when you don't do your research"
"They called me to "verify the shipping address". What this was instead was a sales call. When I told them I didn't want any other products including a warranty, I was insulted by the caller. After asking to speak to a manager I was further insulted then that person attempted to sell me a warranty. When I again I refused, they told me the product was an import model (not stated on website). Cancelled the order and will never do business with them again."
