"Same story as everyone else here, but I got the camera - new, US version, works fine, and it came in 1 day (used 3-Day UPS) BUT...when I called to confirm per the e-mail, I was told the US version was $70 more and sales guy tried to push "add-ons." Since I had purchased and returned the same camera 2 days earlier, I knew he was BSing me about battery and warranty.
When I got the invoice, I had been charged $45 fr S&H when the web site clearly said $29.99. I have had no response from their support, and they are "closed" this week for their "Holiday schedule" (isn't the holiday next week?)
I AM filing a complaint with FTC.gov for the bait and switch and shipping charge issue. I just needed to get the cam ASAP because I need it Friday! I encourage everyone to report these tactics. "
"BUYER BEWARE!!!! of all their "hidden" charges. You won't know what the total is until you receive your item and invoice. I ended up paying an additional $40 for the standard 1-yr mfg. warranty (supposedly this is a "gray market" item and $40 for shipping. Told I had "buyer's remorse" when I wanted to return the camera and that I would not win by disputing the charge with my credit card company. After much arguing I got them down only $20 on the shipping charges...everyone else on the Web charges less than $20. Contacted my credit card company and they said I definitely have a case and that I have 90 days to persue it. They said this is very deceptive marketing and borders on fraudulent advertising. If you order from this company you should call for an invoice total before pushing that submit button."
"BAD COMPANY. They lie and make returning items an impossiblity. I purchased a Canon Camera and did not receive all the items included in the original packaging. They told me it's because it was refurbished. I have tried to return the extra memory chip I purchased because it isn't what I ordered. Am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau."
"I wish I had searched this site before ordering with bwayphoto.
1. These are the most unprofessional customer service group I have ever seen. They are extremely rude and obviously do not care about service to customers.
2. Their web site is misleading even for their own rules. The purchase I was interested in was a digital camera from canon. Their price was the lowest on the net, but add in their *US* warranty (versus the 1 year limited warranty shown to be included accessories on their website) and the cost goes up $200.
They then tell me that if I do not accept the $200 additional cost, I would have to wait 5-7 weeks for shipment from Asia. When I asked where on the website it says this, the response was that they can't waste time with me showing me this. (it doesn't exist.)
3. They overcharge for shipping. There is no way they can justify almost $80 for UPS shipping.
Luckily, I canceled my order before getting too deep with these clowns. I never publicly complain about a company because any rep can have a bad day, but this company is different. Everyone is extremely indifferent to your concerns making me think that this is policy.
They wanted to tack on the US warranty, a flash card, an additional battery. When I didn't want any of it, again saying I just want to find out the status of the order, they called me rude for interrupting their pitch.
BEWARE!!!
"
"DON'T GO THERE!!! Same bait & switch routine as all their other sites- A&M,digitalliquidators,etc. No warranty included in prices quoted (grey market,non-US products)unless you pay $$$, HIGH priced accessories ridiculous shipping charges, and impossible to get satisfation after the sale!! Went to IBuy Digital.com , got decent price,NO high pressure sale in under 2 minutes."
"Same old song and dance folks. I sincerely wish I had discovered this site beforehand. I lucked out in the fact that I ended up with a product that was still at a reasonable price. Olympus C-5060, which was listed at $439. I followed the email's orders and did the whole "call to verify" thing since I was excited to get the camera. Ended up getting talked into the USA kit opposed to gray market, which in hindsight was a good move, for resale opportunity alone. This gave me a warranty and a rechargable battery for a total of $499. Knowledge of memory cards and cases probably saved me another $100 at least. The bill showed on the credit card as $529... $30 for UPS ground shipping, which is unreal but to be expected, though I was told it would be $20 when I ordered originally. How a battery switchout and a warranty card equals a $10 shipping increase, I do not know. All in all, I received a camera that was still at a fair price, well under retail, but the purchase feels tainted and I feel almost guilty about using the camera. Returning the camera is not an option seeing as I will get ripped off even more with the "minimum of 5%" which will probably turn into 5 times that. Lesson learned... use a reputable company like B&H or Adorama."
"When I called back to confirm order, tried to jack up the advertised price by saying the camcorder didn't come with a warranty- that was extra. Per PANASONIC(M.E.C.) all US market units come with a 1yr. limited warranty. digialliquidators LIE!!!! CANCELLED THE ORDER!"
"Classic bait and switch. Called originally to verify stock, availability, included accessories, version (US or gray). Sales Rep stated that the price as advertised for US version with mfg supplied accessories and in stock. Placed order had to call to confirm. Talked to CSR, refused add ons, and suddenly not US version and not supplied with mfg accessories."
" Deception and Lies
I recently placed an order for a Sony MiniDV Camcorder for $377. A few days later I received a message from one a pleasant sounding male sales person ( Salesman 26 206) who strongly encouraged me to buy the gift kit which included
* a battery charger
* a battery
* a "set" of tapes and
* a camera bag
all of this for only $60.00.
On top of that he told me that the camera did not come with a battery. I said I thought that must have been in the small print. He said no, they sold it two ways. I was at work and did not have the web page in front of me so I agreed to the special package.
When the package arrived there was
* the camera WITH A BATTERY
* a Caselogic DB3 Camcorder bag Value $19.00 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006688H/mubuycom0e-20/***-***-****-4801416)
* a single Panasonic AY-DVM60EJ tape Value $2.74 (http://www.tapestockonline.com/pan60minmin.html?tsoref=googadw&key=ay_dvm60ej)
and the total bill before shipping was $449.99.
UPS ground 31.50 for a 6 pound package seems vey steep.
So I paid $72 for $22 worth of merchandise.
* I did not get the separate battery
* I did not get the battery charger
* I only got one tape
The sales person did not tell me the truth and I am very unhappy.
What I asked them to do was send me the rest of the order:
1. a free standing battery charger
2. a Sony battery NP-FM30
3. 4 more MiniDV tapes
and I wanted like this shipped PREPAID
I have not heard back from them"
"I sure wish I had found this site before I ordered my Panasonic AG-DVX100A (moan...). Reading the comments from a lot of folks was like taking a trip back to the "scene of the crime." If ever the term "buyer beware" should be applied to any company, this is it. Of course, I don't lay all the blame on them, as I started feeling a bit nauseous as things proceeded, but I wanted the camera and needed it right away, so I bit the bullet. I have to laugh now about the sales guy who claimed he was "intimately familiar with this camera" -- which was, well, not really true. He did the "itsy-bitsy battery" song and dance and I was dumb enough to believe it. All-in-all, now that I add up all my costs, I could have bought from a dealer I know I can trust, like B&H, since the bottom line was just about even with the B&H selling price, but at least I wouldn't have felt so . . . umm, let's say I just wanted to wash my hands afterwards. While nobody could ever be accused of an outright lie (they would surely say I misunderstood the information), I would steer clear of this company. It's amazing that these practices still go on today. The camera/video/photo world needs to look at how things run in the music technology industry. While not all retailers online are equal, at least they don't practice out-and-out deception. I wonder how the sales people at Broadway feel going home at night? It's sad, but they probably sleep like babies. If this was my company, I would certainly be ashamed to tell anyone. Just read the other postings for more horror stories.

"Not happy. Ordered an HP 945 from them after they came in with the cheapest price when performing a search. If I would of only knew! Would of paid $20 more. The camera was ordered before the easter weekend and was to be used the following weekend at a wedding. I had selected 3 day UPS. I get an email saying I need to call about my order, when I do the guy tries selling me batteries and charger in which he almost would not take no for an answer. Finally he does and I believe my order has been placed. Another email comes saying camera has been backordered. I just called today, 4/29 and they said it would be 2 more weeks so I cancelled the order. So by they're standards it would take over a month to get my 945. I'm already in the same boat 20 days later! NO CAMERA! Can't recommend these people at all!"
"I ordered a Nikon 4500 digital camera from Broadway photo on April 14 after ordering I started reading their reviews and became worried, but everything worked out well. I received my camera within a week and my salesman, Henry was very polite and informed. No real pressure to buy unwanted items (he did try to upsale--its his job). I did not have a bad experinence with my transaction"
"I was a little scepticle after reading all the reviews here but the price was so good that i had to try them out. I phoned my order in instead of ordering from the web, the person who helped me out with my order didnt give the best customer service but he was not bad either - he was just average.
I had ordered the Penta Optio S4i from them. I recieved the camera as promissed - in two days. The camera seems brand new and everything was in sealed packages. I had used my Amex card to buy it from them.
I dont know why everyone has been giving them such bad reviews but my experience was great and i would not hesitate using them again.

"I bought a camera from their web site, the Panasonic AG-DVX100A which was listed at $2700.00 at the time. The next morning I get a call from a Broadway photo salesman. He tells me that I bought the international model and what I really want is the USA model. So I think I just made a mistake so I ok it, no mention of a price difference. Then he wants to sell me the kit that goes with it. I say no, which was sent to me any ways and I was charged for it. So this $2700.00 camera turned out to be around $3400.00. So total with the unwanted kit, I paid around $3900.00. I have to say they were not very forth coming with price information and I felt quite manipulated. After I saw the charge on my credit card I blew my top. I called them to see what happened. I was put on hold for about 20 minutes, and then when I did get some one I was told the sales man I was dealing with was on vacation. So I asked him to help me with the problem, so, he transferred me. I waited another 20minutes then got some one else, and they transferred me. So I tried one more time and gave up. I tried aging the next day and found some one who would deal with my problem. He told me I paid what I was supposed to and there was nothing he could do. So I say, “well I’ll return it,” He told me that I could do that but, I had to pay the shipping and there would be a restocking fee. I was defeated. Although he gave me a free pack of mini DV tapes to make up for the $1100.00 I was not planning to spend. Bottom line I will never do business their aging, EVER!"
"I finally cancelled this order because the item i ordered on the web page was a non US item and I only found this out when I called them to complete the order and they informed me that it was an international item with no US warranty. They were willing to sell me a warranty or the US model for an additional amount. I would have been satisfied if they had both items listed on the web site but they don't. Instead they rely on the consumer either accepting the international item with their warranty added or purchase the US model for the additional price. I don't deal with companies like this and would recommend everyone else also stay away."
