"By the time I found out about this place, it was too late. I ordered a Canon G5. It was listed at about $100-$150 less then the big chain stores. I placed the order by phone and I also got the "email" about them needing to verifying my order. The "aggressive salesman" put the fear in me that Canon only sells their cameras with the "20 minute battery". I sort-of fell for it thinking I'd like to have a 2nd battery anyway. I found out the next day their dirty dealings and how they open the boxes and take all the accessories out and I was horrified. So I called trying to cancel my order but it was too late. They said they mailed it out already. (Yeah right) I figured as soon as I get the package and inspect the contents and find anything thing missing, I was going to return it immediately. Upon recieveing it however, to my surprise, everything was in the box including, strangely enough, 2 Euro adaptors. There is no doubt that the box had been opened but I checked the literature thoroughly and everything was there including the 2 batteries! 1 from Canon, and 1 off brand I've never heard of. So yes I was overcharged for the extra battery, but I ended up slightly on top still having paid less then the big chains and ending up with an extra battery. I'm still testing the camera, to make sure it's functioning properly. It's not scratched or dinged and all the accessories are seemingly in their correct bags. Hopefully nothing will crop up and I can keep it...."
" They bait and switched up on me. I didn't play into it and had my credit card company charge them back. Now they are trying a rebutal and I'll have no part of it. I have all the notes and paperwork on this. Hopefully evryone does the same. The truth will win..... Digital Liquidators, Working to liquidate your wallet through credit card fraud !!!!!!! "
"DigitalLiquidators: Negative feedback!
Bait-and-switch: Advertised price for Nikon D100 digital camera was $1009.99 (PC Photo magazine, February 2004); actual price when ordering online was $1199.99 (January 9, 2004).
After placing order (online), I recerved an email informing me I had "confirm" the order with a phone call. Their 800 number would not receive my call (not even to voice mail) for two days. When I finally connected, they put me on hold for five minutes until I was connected with a salesman. After verifying the order, he proceeded with his attempt sale other items. As it turned out, he would not complete the order unless I listned to his sales pitch. The order was canceled, by mutual consent. They are a sleezly operation, and I will avoid them in the future. I am also warning others who may be lured by the advertising, that the company has false advertising, sleezy sales tactics, and rude salespeople."
"BraodwayPhoto.com is a total rip off!!!!!!!
I just got a minolta dimagez1 camera. They advertised $284 plus $19.99 for shipping.
They then called my elderly mother and swindeled her into a warranty, charger, and memory card for a total of $624!!!!
So the total when I ordered on line was $303, but when I opened the box the receipt said $624.
I have argued with their extremely high pressure sales/service people.. They say they will only refund the whole package for 15% fee, even though the web page says 5%...
Any help?? IN ANY CASE, DO NOT BUY FROM THESE RIPOFF ARTISTS!!"
"digitalliquidators.com from Brooklyn NY advertised a price on the internet or $684 for the item described above and indicated that the product was in stock and would be shipped within 2 days. I placed an order for 2 units using my American Express card. They sent an email asking me to call them. I called and spoke to WALTER on ext 767 at ***-***-**** who told me the price was for a foreign model that could no be shipped for 6 weeks and that the battery it came with only lasted 20 minutes and I needed to purchase a better battery for $129. The price they quoted for a US model that they could ship now was $100 more than advertised.
This was a pure bait and switch tactic. Nothing was mentioned about this in their web advertisement. In addition, The manufacturers spec calls for 2-hour life on the battery, so I can only assume that the firm switched batteries.
I cancelled the order over the phone since I did not wish to deal with a disreputable firm.
Please post this if possible to help keep others from dealing with Digital Liquidators LLC."
"The purchasing process was very mis-leading. The scam these folks run is that when you order something on the web, they ask you to call them to verify. Then they apply the high pressure sales for accessories and stuff you don't need. I upgraded to a longer life battery but later found out it was the same one listed in the "included accessories.""
"do not buy from these people... I say people because they're not a company. They call me the very nex day from purchasing a fujifilm s5000 to tell me I had to buy the cable and the software for the camera (wich comes with it in the box cause' i checked at a local store) for an additional 25 dollars. I said no thank's and they agreed to ship the camera without the cable. 5 days later I went to check on the order status and it was cancelled, after 1/2 an hour of waiting on the phone a rude guy (key)answers and tells me that the order was cancelled because I refused to buy the additional cable and software (they should be reported for false advertisement) the guy told me there was no manager, no supervisor and that I should stop whining. I told them I was happy they cancelled the order cause' I don't want to make business with them never again, however it woul be great if they return the money to my credit card account. If you are a smart buyer you would never buy from a rathole like this! Look carefully, I did and I found the camera with all the original accesories for $265 plus shipping!!!"
"I was checking out shipping prices on a small 2-inch $39 lens, and had to enter my a credit card number to do so. I found that they wanted 70$ to ship this small lens by US regular mail so I did not press the order key. Guess what? Digital Liquidators ordered it for me anyway, and I got an automatic order confirmation. But since I had read the reviews on this questionable company at this web site I was prepared. I used a mastercard "shopsafe number" that had a preset limit so they couldn't raise the price of shipping -and I had the ability to immediately cancel the card- which I did. I suggest anyone who places orders with questionable companies such as this, or is only checking out shipping costs as I had, sign up for a shopsafe option for their credit card. It gives a vitual credit card number that can be used only once;it essentially stops all kinds of fraud.
By the way, what others have said about this company is supported by the lack of info on the confirmation email. There were no details about the cost of the item nor shipping and handling charges. This behavior lends itself up to all types of fraud, including subsitution of goods, inflating shipping and handling costs.
On a positive note, when a Larry called from customer services (to verify the order), he was polite when I cancelled the order. "
"Ordered a digital camera on their website. Next day got an e-mail asking me to call "for verification purposes." This led to a series of sales pitches for accessories and an extended warranty. They claimed that the camera only had a 30 minute battery and wouldn't work properly without a set of filters. When I declined all the extras, was told delivery would take 4-5 weeks.
UPDATE-- After that phone call, I Googled "Digital Liquidators complaint" and came here to read all the horror stories. Then I called up customer service to cancel, was put on hold but finally reached someone who agreed to cancel my order. I hope it's really canceled and they won't charge my credit card. "
"WARNING: Do not deal with this outfit..Pay a few dollars more and deal with a reputable vender. They billed my credit card twice, under two different business names. When I called, I was told they would credit the card for one of the charges that day. The next day, both charges had been posted to my account. I called back, and was told to call again in several hours...another run around...They also told me yesterday that the item was shipped, and I could get a tracking number after 7 p.m. No tracking number was available last night, and when I asked again today, I was told they would have that info, along with the info about crediting my account when I call back in several hours. I will post a follow up when all is said and done, but right now, the situation does not look too promising. Save yourself a lot of grief and deal with someone else.
UPDATE:..Well, things are looking up...It looks like everything will work out ok. It makes a huge difference getting the right rep on the phone. After 8 calls over 3 days, I finally got a guy named Brad that gave me a tracking number, and told me that the 2nd charge on my card would be removed. The tracking number was valid, and the next day, my account showed a credit for the "extra" charge. The camcorder I ordered is supposed to be the "USA" model with all accessories and a 1 year warranty."
"This company has nothing but fraud written all over it!!! I ordered a JVC video camera which their website stated a cost of $329.00. I was leary of the price and called and spoke to a salesman to make sure the item was new and placed my order for $329. He insisted that I purchase a battery and gave me "a deal" on the price of $59.00. I was also supposed to get a few gift valued at $20. I received my order as promised with the exception of the gift not being included. I also received a total invoice of $429.98. When I called, the salesman (who never called me back after the 1st call)said the battery was $60.99 and shipping/handling/insurance was $39.99 total. We went round and round... I told him I would call customer service. After emailing customer service and not receiving an answer, I called them requesting an RMA number to return the battery, which I didn't feel I really needed afterall. Customer service informed me that I was only charged $30 for the battery and the additional amount on the camera was for a US warranty not supplied by JVC. He also said the 1 year warranty was provided from Broadway Photo, not JVC.
So after all of this, with the exception of my free $20 gift. I have atleast received what I paid for, but have been deceived from all accounts.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THESE JERKS... YOU WILL BE RIPPED-OFF"
"Beware of this seller. The pricing may be good, but they are not a real birck and stone retail outlet. You make your order on the web, then within 2 days a person will call you claiming to verify information. At this time they will attempt to bump your price up by attempting to sell you everything under the sun. Bewarw of the shipping charges, that mysteriously do not print on your confirmation, they disappear when you attempt to print them.
I purchased a Minolta G500 for $285 and $19.99 shipping. When I asked them for a total so I would know how much I was being charged, the line went dead for about 3 minutes. They then attempted to add 8% to the total for no reason at all.
Be careful with these people."
"Same story as all the rest who posted this Reseller. I got screwed. Same lowball price and hardball sell on accessories which are all lies. Warranty, Batteries, Memory, etc. I was told the battery packed with camera only lasts 15 minutes. I rejected the hard sell and was hung up on by the Service Rep. They didn't like me as I never got my cameras (ordered 2) but they took my money and charged my Credit Card. I also registered an Online complaint with the NY Attorney Generals Online Office: http://www.oag.state.ny.us/online_forms/complaint_alert.jsp I learned my lesson. I should have come to ResellerRatings.com BEFORE I processed my order. I'm screwed but posting for the smart folks that will check these crooks out FIRST and hopefully walk away. I have bought thousands of dollars of merchandise online. Even purchased my last two new cars using online services. This is the first time I was dooped. Buyers Beware! "
"I have been a victim of this company. So, from a first hand experience I urge you to buy elsewhere. I "screen printed" my completed order which was totalled with shipping at $925.00 dollars, I never received an email confirmation with any dollar amounts, (they also did what others have mentioned, call and demand we buy additional products) When my order came a week later the invoice was $1125.00. Shipping alone went from $26 to $85. When I called they said "no problem" just send the merchandise back for a "full" refund minus the %5 restocking fee and the shipping charges. This would be about $140 + the cost to send it back to them. I smell a rat! If you dare order from them demand an online price quote or a fax of your order before you give them your credit card.
I noticed today they advertise on Google. (as a "sponsored link" that pops up when you type in a product they carry)
Feel free, as I did, to contact google's ad division if you feel they are housing a fraudulent ad link:

"This company is very deceptive. My wife purchased a Sony Digital camera from them and it is obvious that it is NOT new in factory sealed box like they claim. The comera strap was missing, and they owners manual was a photocopy of the original, it was not the one that Sony put in the box. Then they called my wife and said that they wanted to sell her a $50 camera case for only $25, but when she got it, it was only worth $10 at Wal-Mart, it was NOT worth $50! I called them and they did nothing about it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!"
