"This is by far the worst online company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. First of all, shortly after placing your order, you receive an e-mail saying you have to call their 1-800 to "verify" your order. This call is nothing but a glorified sales call. The sales representative rudely tried to push a bunch of extra equipment down my throat that I did not need. One of the reason I like to order online is because I do my own research, I know what I want, and I don't want to deal with overly pushy sales people. The sales rep became increasingly rude when said I just wanted the item that I ordered. He told me it would be there in 3 to 4 weeks, which is a pathetic shipping time to begin with compared to other online stores. Well after about 4 weeks, I hadn't received anything from the company. I had gone to the website and tried to use their tracking link numerous times but each time it told me that no information could be found and to call their 1-800 number again. What I found out later is that they actually have no online package tracking. No matter what legitimate order number you put in there, you will get the message about calling their 1-800 number. As much as I disliked my first phone encounter with this company, I reluctantly called. After being sent to a non-working extension by their automated phone system, I eventually reached an operator. I told him that I wanted to check on the status of my order. His first response was to ask me if I wanted to cancel the order, without even bothering to tell me the status of it. I told him that I just wanted to know the status and he tells me that the product has been backordered. After a month of waiting for my package and being told they had it in stock, they didn't even have the decency to say that it was backordered. They would have been caught in their own lie. Avoid this company, protest this company, companies like this should NOT exist."
"See a fault activity, It is a paint to do business with, too much hassel, Don't have product to delivery. Very bad reseller never buy from them again"
"Same story like everyone over here. Asked to call to verify the order, then told that it came with no warranty and that it stated so in the web site (it doesn't) and cancelled the order."
"After reading other users review I filed a complaint with http://www.oag.state.ny.us/online_forms/complaint_alert.jsp
Ordered online, they I get an email to call them.
I refused to buy their overpriced accessories, so the sales guy at Ext 751 pushed out my order from instock to 8 weeks back order. $#$%
Their web site should be taken down if they can process order without calling them or if every one needs to call, that should be communicated on their web site."
"I'm still waiting for my Nikon 5700 digital camera... and it has been almost two months.
I think they put me on the #@#$ list because I did not order the over-priced optional equipment. Communication has been horrible.... when I call, I get an answering machine."
"Liars cheaters and theives accurately describes them in my experience. I ordered a Canon A70 and asked 2 times if it had a US FACTORY warrantee (in those words). I was told yes. It arrived as a "Japan only" "no warantee" unit. After much arguing (and yelling on my part) and having to pay to send the darn thing back, they agreed to send me an actual US unit. Note however that they first said that US units were not available!!! I was out the extra shipping and it took two weeks to get the camera. They threw in a leather camera case "for my trouble" although its so small that even the small A70 wont fit (it will just fit 3 35mm film cans)!!! They lied to me directly, they wouldnt refund the shipping even though they sent me something that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE, and they caused me to spend an addtional $20 in shipping to send it back (which Im going to challenge with my credit card). Note too, that they charged $30 for standard shipping (I know, I was a sucker) which was quite a bit over their magazine advertized rate (which I hadnt seen). I will NEVER even think of ordering from them again."
"There is one word that comes to mind when I think of my dealings with Broadway Photo,"CROOKS",
If ripping me off was not enough to deal with, the rudeness and lack of professionalism in the customer service( what a joke) brought the buying experience to an all time low.The printer that they failed to ship after 3 follow up calls and emails. charges to my credit card they would not remove, service reps that would not give me their name, so I could verify our conversations, no supervisors or managers to speak with it goes on and on. I guess what I am trying to get accross to anyone who purchases on the internet or phone from these people, beware. I am canceling my credit card just in case.My dispute on the charges is still pending (Oct 14.03 )
"
"What a bunch of scam artists. Ordered the camera then they tell me it's a grey market item w/ no warranty. I paid for 2-3 day shipping, then they tell me it will be 4-6 weeks before it arrives from overseas. There was no mention of this until after I bought it. I told them to keep it and cancel the order. What loosers!!!"
"I order a camera 6 weeks ago and have been told it is out of stock all this time. They continually list it being in stock but will not sell it to you unless you but over prices acessories."

I guess this is going to be a two-part review since the order is not complete as of yet. My experienced stemmed from first trying to purchase the same camera from DigitalLiquidators.com which turned out to be a bad first experience. Right off the bat they told me that the camera I intended to purchase was gray market, and that I could have the US model for an extra $50. That still made it a lot cheaper than everybody else at $350, but by that time I was disappointed and canceled the order.
I then started to freak out because I needed the camera in 3 days and decided to go with the second cheapest website which turned out to be Broadway Photo. On the same note, it turned out to be cheaper than their advertising. First I called them and asked them about the camera I wanted to purchase, and if it was the US model. The person on the phone assure me that it was, so I was ready to place my order. The guy told me that they do not accept orders over the phone, and I will have to do it through the website. Better for me I thought, easier to keep tabs on printable receipts and such.
I decided to place the order for the Olympus Camedia C-4000 through their website. Not even 30 minutes later I got an email from them asking me to call them to verify the order. I thought to myself:? Here is the scam". The guy on the phone was pushy as hell. I was beginning to get annoyed at his sales pitch for very, very, over-priced items. I politely turned them all down. At the end the guy was really nasty and told me my total and just hung up on me. Then I found this site and my stomach sank with all the horrible reviews. So far everything is on track. The order I placed yesterday on their website has already been shipped and my credit card has been charged the exact amount I was told with the over priced shipping and handling ($45 for next day). They emailed me an UPS tracking number, which I tried right away. The camera is on its way to me, and I should receive it tomorrow.
They assure me that it was an US Model so I'm hoping that I get the warranty card and correct manual not to mention that I hope is a brand new US model.
Just from the pushy sales men I'm not sure if I will purchase from them again. I just want to make sure I get the merchandise I paid for.
I will post again tomorrow when and if I get my package as promised.

Well, I must say that I'm extremely happy with my purchase. At work today I kept track of my shipment through the UPS website. I rushed home to find my package waiting for me. I made sure that everything was fine. The box itself of the camera stated that it was an USA camera and it includes the warranty card. I made sure that I examined everything and that everything was included. Everything came in a factory sealed package, it had all the manuals in three different languages and everything looked great. The Menu is in English and everything is functional on the camera. It has the registration card from Olympus including USA addresses, USA phone numbers, and URL for registering online. One thing I made sure I checked is that the warranty card that was included in the box matched the serial number that is on the camera itself. Perfect match!! So, after reading 100+ bad reviews on this website and waiting anxiously to get screwed, I must say that everything I order was right on the money. Not only that, but I also got the camera $130 cheaper than everywhere else. So my review for Broadway Photo?? An 8 out of 10...I was not happy with the pushy salesperson, but I got everything that I order in the time that I requested. "
"It's the same story. The sales person was rude and told lies about the product and company. He tried to sell me accessories and said Sony does not provide warranty for their camcorders (Sony!) and tried to sell their warranty for $249~250. Of course I canceled and notified my credit card company to look out for any false charges on my credit card.
Please report them to BBB or the NY state attorney general.
I got their address from BBB:
Digitalliquidators.com (They also go by Digital Liquidators and Digital Liquidators, LLC.)

"My call to confirm my order for a camera resulted in a pitch for accessories, much like other reviewers. After I declined the overpriced battery and "warranty", the guy told me that the prices were low because they sold "grey market" items (i.e. imported, stripped, unofficial, etc.) at a cheap price. He also directed me to www.dpreviews.com for good camera reviews and retail sites. I cancelled my order shortly thereafter. Please be aware of this and other similar companies - any based in NYC in my experience."
"One follow-up note: I decided to file a complaint with the State Attorney General's Office of New York. If the last dozen or so reviewers would have done the same, maybe the Attorney General would have shut these BoZos down. For those that a sure to follow me, please take the time to file a complaint. The web address is: http://www.oag.state.ny.us/online_forms/complaint_alert.jsp
I feel compelled to make you aware of this company's bate and switch business practices. They advertise the lowest prices for cameras on the web. When I phoned in to confirm my order, they told me the camera was in stock and ready for shipping and they tried to sell me an expensive accessory kit. I declined. One week later when I called them to ask about the status of my order, I was told the camera was on back order for 12 weeks. Not ordering the kit apparently resulted in my original order being put on back order for 12 weeks! My experience apparently is not unique. I read, too late, the terrible reviews this company has received from multiple customers/attempted customers order multiple products. Most concerning is that some reviews report that they appear to being trying to charge a cancelation fee to credit cards, when customers cancel their order. "
"I wish I would have found this site sooner. I just spoke to the jerks at this company. They called me up like the Nicsan and talked me into getting some accessories. These guys are terrible. They led me to believe that the standard manufacturers accessories were included, but they're not. Then they called me up to sell me some of those standard accessories such as batteries and charger. When I realized I wasn't getting a deal here, I tried to call to cancel my order or to be assured that I would get a refund. They were mean and unyeilding. They wouldn't waive the restock fee, even when their sales people were misleading. I will never go back to them, and after reading these reviews, I will know better. Apparently mine was not the only case where they tried to scam people.
I only pray that I receive the product and can send it back and get the rest of my money back.
I couldn't believe their inattention to customer service. The guy that I spoke to kept telling me that I consented to the purchase once I said ok, even though I wasn't fully informed of what I was or was not getting in the package.
Then he told me that he would black list me and and told me to never shop with them again. Which, I would never do anyway.
Don't buy from them!!! And, if my story isn't enough, look them up at resellerratings.com!!!"
