"Despite the bad reviews posted for Buy.com, I placed my order for a Wacom 6x11 Widescreen Tablet. It retails for $369, but Buy.com had it for $285 so it was a hell of a price break!
I ordered it early morning on Friday, 3/29, and it was shipped (free) that evening with no hassle whatsoever, and received it this morning, 4/4. The product is perfect, and came in a timely manner. Final price was $270 after a $15 coupon, so I feel I definitely lucked out. I would definitely come back to Buy.com again. "
"purchased large lcd tv, they had no idea for 5 days which carrier had it, even though they claimed that it had already been shipped, so after calling 4 different times, waiting on phone 30plus minutes each time to speak with someone I eventually got one person to get me the correct info"
"I had placed an order with them on Friday night. Saturday morning I cancelled the order. Next week on Wednesday I came home to find four packages were left without anyone signing for them. I never received any shipping information. Their website still thinks the order is being cancelled. I checked the tracking numbers on the packages and saw that they didn't even ship out the packages until Monday, two days after I cancelled the order. On top of this they want me to pay the shipping to send it back even though it was their mistake.
The lesson is don't be lured by the low prices they have on their website. Their customer service is the worst to deal with. When you try to email them, they just keep cut and pasting the same useless replies. "
"Bought a 19" Hanns-G monitor with a $100 rebate in Oct 2006. Hanns-G distributor, Wintergreen Systems (Indiana, USA) will not honor the rebates and will not take calls. In fact, the rumor is they are under investigation by the IN attorney general!
Anyway, upon calling Buy.com, the CSR agreed, without hesitation or discussion to credit my credit card the value of the rebate.
This kind of customer service should be rewarded.
Thanks, Buy.com"
"I figured I'd take the time to post a positive review of Buy.com. I think those who are dissatisfied have a higher liklihood of posting reviews as they experienced a problem. Those without problems rarely think to post.
I ordered a Sharp LC52D92U 52" LCD flat panel on Saturday, March 24, 2007. Got a tracking number Monday, 3/26...a phone call on 3/28 to set up delivery...I chose Friday, 3/30 to make a 3 day weekend of it.
Buy.com used AIT Worlwide Logistics for shipping. Delivery was scheduled between 1 and 5 PM. The delivery truck showed up at about 12:15 (driver took a chance I'd be there as he had two deliveries in the area and I was more 'on the way'). There was only the one delivery guy and he was no spring chicken. I had to help him get the TV off the truck and into my house. Since I had to help with delivery I'm going to lower my rating on shipping to 'very good'. The box was in good shape...I made the guy wait while I opened it and examined for obvious damage. He got a bit argumentative when I said I'd refuse delivery if it was damaged but since it wasn't damaged I didn't have to pull that trigger. He left and after short order I had the set up and running. Beautiful picture but I fear I see some banding. I haven't had it long enought to decide if it is a problem.
All in all I'd say the Buy.com purchase went VERY smoothly. What's funny is the delivery guy had no idea where I purchased. He thought a local store. So now I'm thinking that regardless of where you buy you end up with sets from the same sources. I guess this may not be the case with a huge electronics retailer like CircuitCity or BestBuy who maintain their own warehouses and delivery trucks but for smaller local retailers I'll bet there's a good chance they get their sets from the same source Buy.com uses.
On a closing note, since I did't have any problems with my purchase I really can't comment on how Buy.com would have handled a problem. However, they do have pretty detailed instructions on their website on the procedure. Yes, you deal with them via e-mail on problems. In the past, the one time I had a problem with a broken DVD the whole ship back (at their expense) and refund process was handled via email. I'm OK with this but some people may not be.
I would purchase again from Buy.com."
"I tried to purchase a 7.2V NiCad battery and charger from this company through Buy.com. After this sale, I find both companies to be a waste of time.
First - The Twister Group: The batter with charger was ordered on the 20th of March. Nine day later, no email follow-up, notification of the reseller’s information including contact and no battery and charger. After finally getting the contact information regarding the reseller (see below) I went to their site to check for availability of the item I ordered. Get this. The same item listed as selling on Buy.com from “Twister” as the reseller is know is $19.29. On his site, the same item sells for $14.12. As of now, I have email the company to cancel the order.
Second – Buy.com: They passed the buck claiming that the reseller’s information is listed in the order details. This is an outright fabrication. Neither on my order receipt or the on-line copy does any contact information for the reseller “Twister” appear.
On top of all of this, the item I ordered from Twister through Buy.com is, according to their site, our of stock.
Update – I just received an email form Twister. The order was canceled 3/21/07 and they have no idea why I never received an email. The order I still listed as active in my Buy.com history.

"Ordered a Nostromo N52 on a Tuesday night and received it Thursday afternoon, 2 days later with free shipping. No problems whatsoever."
"This online retailer is nothing but a ripoff. I received defective merchandise from this retailer and was unable to return it because they would not issue me a RMA. Their 14 day return policy is a joke."
"I purchased a Nintendo Wii Legendary Bundle from buy.com. It sold out in nearly 15 minutes. When I submitted my purchase, it said IN STOCK. However, a week later, after order changed to Sent to Warehouse, they notified me and said the bundle is unavailable and is now on back order. I sent them a Cancellation request, and now they're telling me it might ship or it might cancel, and they don't know which will happen. Sounds like laziness to me.
Why would people want to waste their time ordering an item that isn't really there? They either need to fix their ordering process or hire some people who know what they're doing.
I should have read the other negative feedback for buy.com as it is the majority. It shows that they are persistent at screwing up. BEWARE! I will never shop here again.

"I ordered this item on March 6th. They said it was in stock, but then I got a "surprise backorder notification." I tried to cancel, they WOULD NOT LET ME. I contacted them NUMEROUS times using their online "help" form. They NEVER ANSWERED. Even though I tried numerous times to CANCEL my order, they SHIPPED IT ANYWAY. I refused the pkg. FedEx confirmed that they SIGNED FOR IT, yet I have STILL not received my credit. I finally got an email response, saying a credit HAD BEEN ISSUED. yet I have no sign of it anywhere. And I keep getting responses from OTHER employees telling me my refund is still "pending." PENDING? For an order that I DID NOT WANT ANYWAY, that was REFUSED and SENT BACK, and they OWE ME MY MONEY? I'm a television reporter and plan on exposing this company's HORRIBLE "customer service" practices. And I'll most likely sue them as well... This is THE most stressful online ordeal I have EVER dealt with.. "
"Buy.com shipped me an empty box!
Then refused to refund me saying something about weighing the box before shipment.
I purchased 2 1 gig Ram cards for my notebook and waited 10 days to get a box empty except for scrunched paper..
I'm unsure how to get my money back from them, I have also seen similar complaints on the web about buy.com it looks like they have a theft problem in their warehouse and we're getting screwed."
"Do not order from this company....or at least if you do call first and make sure your item is in stock. I ordered 2 camcorder batteries and only received one.....the packing slip said the other was backordered....not all that bad except the website showed it in stock....so I used their contact us form (twice) and it came back undelieverable...nice....then I called and finally got in touch with someone....said they had no idea how long it would be on backorder for....no way for them to tell.....so it could be months then? this is very poor in my opinion...any business should be able to tell a customer how long before they will get a product....avoid this place if you can"
"Ordered a SCSI controller 29320A-R which is said on the website to be "in stock" after 3 days I tried emailing these guys with no reply whatsoever. This place used to be O.K. about 3 years ago, but now they're a shell of their former self. Avoid this place at all costs because they waste customers' valuable time. I will never ever shop at buy.com again."
"Excellent buying experience. Received software and earphones within days and at a very good price."
"Ordered two Microsoft VX-6000 web cams from their Canadian site. Price was advertised at $23.99ea. I figured the worst that could happen is they cancel my order if the price is wrong. A week goes by and they have not shipped my order or canceled it. They have increased the price to $88.99 though.
Numerous emails later and they insist that the item is backordered even though their website clearly shows it is in stock.
Over two months later they send an email to inform me that the item is no longer available and therefore my order is canceled. This is a bold faced lie because it is still listed as in stock.
How can these jokers lie to customers like this and still remain in business?"
