"I ordered a Corsair 620-HX from buy.com on Feb. 26th, 2007 and it said the item was in stock. I was notified several days later that the item was on backorder, however, the website was still showing it as in stock. I emailed buy.com about the issue and they stated the website is updated every 24hours to ensure status and that it probably just went out of stock. 6 days later, it was still showing in stock. My order finally shipped on March 5th. There was a rebate associated with the purchase, however, Buy.com's invoice made no reference of the purchase date, but rather only listed the ship date therefore I have no idea whether Corsair will accept the rebate or not. Buy.com's website also states that it usually ships in 1-2 business days. However, when you look at your account, only then does it say 7-9 days... "

"I tend to like this store because they have good prices and a good automated order system. Don't call or email them though because you will waste vast amounts of time and get little if anything in return.
They sent me a one time offer of 10% off. I ordered an MP3 player and they cancelled my order. When I finally got through to their customer service they advised me to order again but wouldn't give me the discount at the time of ordering. They said they would credit my account after I ordered but it never happened. It is frustrating trying to deal with them through email or the phones. If the order is straight up then consider yourself fortunate and you probably got a good deal."

"I've been a buy.com customer for a long time, perhaps 5+ years. In general, had no complaints as there were no issues with my orders. Unfortunately, couple of times there were problems I had the displeasure of dealing with their "customer service". I hope you won't have to: slow responses (24 hours? what a joke!), won't accommodate any requests (don't ever forget to change the default Standard shipping to Budget), and expect to wait 45min or longer if you call their hidden toll-free number.
So yes, I you never have a problem they're good. Otherwise, give up."
"After 6 working days my order was still between "Shipping" and "Processing" per the on site tracking info. I submitted a message as to why not shipped. No answer recieved after 2 days. Submitted a "Cancel Order." Got an e-mail to the effect the cancelation was considered only a request and the order "might" still be shipped. No information as to when. Message ended with "Please be patient.
I blame myself, as I was in a hurry and did not research this company, which I always do and have never had a problem with on-line purchases. If I had read any of the comments here I would not have gone near them.

"I was a bit worried about the low ratings, but at the same time I've never had any problems with buy.com for the past 7 years I bought from them. They had the lowest price on the monitor I was looking for and also free shipping where other stores were charging between $20-$50 shipping on this monitor. Buy.com's site states free shipping will take longer than ground shipping, however when my item shipped, it was sent via ground shipping and I received it in the usual time it would take for ground shipping. "Where do I begin. Placing the order went fine, and I have ordered from Buy.com before with no problems, but now I find out, if you have a problem or any questions about your order, you are screwed. Why ?, because they really have no customer support ! They have no phone number to contact, your only hope is via e-mail. In my case it took 8 and 9 days for any response to my e-mails, and those replys were absolutely useless. I will never use them again, because of such poor customer service. "On March 4th, I saw the Slingbox AV on Buy.com for $138.00- by the cheapest price around.
On March 5th, my wife ordered it for me for my birthday, and paid $154.99. It seemed the price changed overnight.
On March 8th I happen to check the item again, while calling buy.com about a shipping problem with FedEx Ground; the price was now $124.00.
I very quickly reached full boil.
I demanded a credit of $30.00 for this price switching game. They agreed, and I was promised that my wife's credit card would be credited the $30.00.
On March 9th, she received an email saying that they were denying it because more then 72 hours had passed since the original order.
I have purchased many items from buy.com over the years, but never, ever, ever again. Personally, if I knew this would take place, I would have rather given Best Buy the $180.00 they wanted for it. Expensive maybe, but at least the price won't change three or four times in a week.
Buy.com has become a sham and I would not take something from them if given free. Their founder, Scott Blum should be thrown in jail for his stock shanigans with the company as well. The fish stinks from the head down. (He took the company public, made a fortune; the stock tanked, and bought it all back for pennies a share.)
There you have it. My battle with them has just begun...it will end with my getting $30.00 from them as point of principle...don't screw around with your customers."
