"Purchased a webcam for a friend and entered their address for the item to be shipped to. At final checkout confirmation, their website instead sent the webcam to an old address of mine. Not even my current address mind you, but an old one more than 175 miles away. I e-mailed them within 2 minutes notifying them of the error and asking them to correct it. They said no. Then the excuses started each time I confronted them: They are UNABLE to make changes once an order is placed. Then, they DON'T make changes to orders once placed, per policy. Finally, it's too LATE to make a change. So then I asked that the order be cancelled, and I would just go back and order it again. Nope. They can "try" and cancel, but can't guarantee it will go through. Sure enough, they said it couldn't go through. I was incredulous. What kind of company wont allow a customer to cancel an order? A few hours later I am notified that the item has shipped. I finally call someone in person and explain that the item will be delivered to someone other than me, or the intended receipient, lost to me and my friend forever because I don't live there anymore and whoever lives there will probably just keep their new "gift." And I, in essence, will be paying for something I, or my freind will never touch. Too bad says Buy.Com, nothing they can do. I ask them to call FedEx and simply request they send it to the right address. Nope says Buy.Com they can't do that. Policy. I am dumbfounded. I call back, and in a moment of honesty, and a revelation that I had been lied to from the beginning, the person told me that they would only change the address if the order were $300 or more. I later found out from FedEx that they do charge a nominal fee for shippers to change the address, hence the reluctance on Buy.Com's part. So I had FedEx cancel delivery and send it back to Buy.Com so that hopefully I will get my money refunded. So in order to save a couple of bucks, Buy.Com lost the sale, lost a long-time customer, and now will end up paying many more times the cost of doing the right thing, if they had indeed done the right thing, due to my lost future business. Way to go Buy.Com! These people are liars and care NOTHING about customer service. When things go right, the shopping experience with them is great. But if anything goes wrong, ANYTHING, you are in big trouble. They will do nothing. And, now, I will have nothing to do with Buy.Com after 8 years of being a customer, and spending thousands of dollars with them. As I said, WAY TO GO Buy.Com!!! "

"i requested a replacement on LCD monitor from buy.com order #33078740. first they dragged the case for over two weeks and didn't even bother to update me on the status of my order. then when i tried to go there web site to "My Account" it says my replacement order was canceled. all this time i am left without a computer screen on one of my computers. if i would have known i would have ordered another one from a different place a long time ago. everyone knows how difficult it is not to use your computer for over two weeks in today's world. if that's not enough they don't even have there phone number on there web site to be contacted. i had to google there phone number and even then they couldn't help. my ratting to this store would be think twice before you buy from buy.com, VERY BAD IN CUSTOMER SERVICE

"Purchased a webcam but when it didn't arrive, I emailed numerous times with no response. After 8 emails and 2 weeks later, I searched online for a phone number and found one.

The rep said their website somehow cut off the street address (so it was just the street number), but said it was beyond her abilities to do anything. She suggested contacting the USPS, even though I told her it was the responsibility of Buy.com.

I called the USPS and sure enough, they said they can't do anything and Buy.com needs to fix the error. Of course, they won't do anything, I've been charged for the webcam, and I don't have the item.

If their website makes a mistake, they should admit it and fix it, not pass the responsibility off to the carrier. They won't respond to my emails and no longer answer their phones.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WITH ALL THE MISTAKES THEY MAKE (SEE THE OTHER REVIEWS) IT'S NOT WORTH RISKING YOUR MONEY.

"I ordered a Samsung 226BW from Buy.com on Monday when they were offering free budget shipping, but I paid extra for faster shipping to make sure I got it by the weekend. When Thursday came around and I didn't receive the monitor I checked their website, only to find it still hadn't shipped. I looked for a phone number, but there isn't one anywhere to be found. So I sent an email asking why I hadn't received my order yet. Ten hours later I get a response saying the item is backordered, and they don't have an estimate. So I wrote back asking when exactly they were planning on telling me this crucial information, and why I was being kept in the dark about an order they claimed would ship in 1-2 business days at the time I placed the order. Another 8 hours later I get a response saying their stock status only updates every 24 hours, and it was backordered when I placed the order. No mention was made regarding the fact that they never notified me that the item was backordered. So I told them I was irate over the lack of information, and that I could order it from one of the many other stores that have it in stock, but would keep the order with them if they'd upgrade my shipping. They responded another eight hours later that they would not be willing to do that, so I told them to cancel my order. I haven't heard back from them since then, but I've already placed my new order with Newegg.com, and it's already shipped. This was the last order I'll ever place with Buy.com."

"I've placed several orders with Buy.com - the most recent last month for a pair of SD cards. The prices aren't always the most competitive so you do have to shop around a bit and do your homework. For some items though the prices are decent and when combined with rebates or other promotions it gets even better.

Order processing and shipment has been relatively quick in my experience, usually within 1-2 business days from placing the order to receiving a shipment notification. Items have always arrived perfectly and as advertised.

"Bought the Hanns G 19" LCD Monitor w/ $100 rebate. Wintergreen (who services the rebate) did what they typically do and stole the money. No rebates given to all purchasers. I tried dealing with rebate company with no luck. A search that led to this site showed me that I should contact Buy.com to resolve this. I called two days ago and just got an email that my rebate was refunded through Paypal. Thank you Buy.com. You do know customer service. I will definitely purchase from you in the future with no apprehension."

"I ordered a 400GB "SmartDisk Network Hard Drive". I've got a 250GB unit. I called requesting a change of the unit, or a refund of a difference.

They said that i was out of their change period. Strangely, the change period starts when they ship, not when you receive it. So, if you package takes 10 days to get to you, you only have 4 days to complain, if it takes 14 days, you have NO time.

Anyway, the thing was that they didn't care about me, their only response, no matter what i explained to them was "your exchange period is over".

Thanksfully, SmartDisk DID recognize the error, and exchanged it FREE for a 400GB unit. Great service from them.

buy.com SUCKS.

"2 day deliver using free shipping method. I can't believe the prices I sometimes get on some of the products here after all the discounts I can find on the web.

My only complaint is that I was never given a tracking number or had any idea of when the package would arrive. It wasn't too big of a deal as it only took 2 days for the package to get delivered but thats because it shipped from Pennsylvania to Massachussetts, I'm sure if I lived further away it would have been a much longer wait.

"I ordered a vTech phone for the absolute best price I could find anywhere (and this was before I used a 7% off coupon). Shipping was rather high, but, with the coupon, the net price was still cheaper than other sources (including Wal-Mart). The phone was promptly shipped, arrived quickly, and was exactly as described.

I acknowledge the bad reviews, but I've never had a problem with Buy.com.

"Overall Satisfied.

The price was the best I could find for this product. So I went with buy.com despite some shaky reviews.

The website clearly stated it may take 2 days to ship. Item shipped after 2 days. I selected 3-5 days shipping and the item arrived 5 days after the order was placed. The only thing that could have been better is if they shipped same day. The site did say 1-2 days to ship though so I knew when I placed the order that it likely would not ship same day.

The item was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition.

I will use buy.com again.

"This company is not dependable. They aggressively email you with specials. When you place an order it shows as sent to warehouse forever! After waiting a week for my order to ship and cancelled and ordered from another vendor. This will be my last time ordering from Buy.com."

"I ordered a Tekkeon MP3300 portable battery to take on a long trip to Asia with our portable DVD player, to keep my son happy on the long trip. After 3 days, and no ship notification, I logged in to my account at Buy.com and clicked cancel. They said that they would try to cancel it but that they might not be able to as the order had already been "sent to the warehouse". I told them they better cancel it and revoked their authorization to charge my card. I was leaving soon for several weeks outside of the US and needed the product quickly. (I was able to order it and receive it from NewEgg after I canceled it at Buy.com for not shipping for several days and got it before I left out of country and before this next bit that follows happened). Turns out that 5 days after I asked them to cancel it they shipped. I have already disputed the charge with AMEX and told Buy.com that they need to come get the product. I am not even there to receive it (someone is at home, though the UPS guy just leaves things and leaves without giving us a chance to refuse it). Anyway, BUY.COM sucks. Stay away! They used to be quite reliable, but recently have become very unreliable and have no idea about customer service."

"This was my first experience with purchasing from Buy.com and it will definitely be my last. Their Customer Service is a joke. I purchased a 19" Viewsonic and was using an online click thru coupon for $10.00 off of any $175.00 purchase. Each time I tried using the coupon it would show up in my cart and then during checkout it would tell me that I had already used it which wasn't so. I went ahead and completed the purchase and thought that after explaining the situation they would credit my purchase after confirming that I had not used their coupon as a new customer. The so called Customer Service wrote back and acknowledged that the coupon was unused but stated that they would not credit my purchase for the $10.00 off. I purchase a lot of electronics online and I'll be sure not to waste my time with this bunch of losers. "

"Hesitated ordering from Buy.com because of poor reviews and discrepancies between manufacture specifications on Planar 2010M and that advertised by Buy.com.
2Days ago I ordered Logitech S530. I received it today April 4, via Fedex. I just paid $7.13 shipping by accident b/c I did not know I had to choose the offered free shipping during checkout.
After $10 Google Checkout and $20 rebate my cost is $32.00. Good shopping experience.
