"Due to a Google Checkout error I was double billed/shipped a PCI TV tuner, within a couple of hours I sent their customer support notification of this and received a form email in response indicating that they would try to stop the order, three days later I received notification that they had shipped both orders and a form response about not being able to stop the order at the same time. The order arrived at my office while I was out of town and when I tried to return the item in it's original un-opened shipping container after my trip I was sent a form letter indicating that the window for returns had past. Don't buy from these people."
"I ordered two ink cartridges for my printer, one black and one color. I received one shipment from them, and while the order information stated both cartridges shipped in the same box, only the color cartridge was in the box. There was also no packaging material at all, so I received a large box with one cartridge loosely tossed in there and a packing slip telling me I should have both cartridges. When I contacted customer service, I told them that I received the shipment but that I had only received one cartridge. I received a reply telling me later that my claim had been denied since they had received confirmation from UPS saying that the package had been delivered, which is entirely irrelevant to my complaint of an incorrect shipment. Further attempts at followup were apparently ignored. I should have checked resellerratings.com before ordering from them..."
"I am totally dissatisfied. Ordered a LCD Monitor only to be told later that it was not in stock but soon as their supplier had it they would send my purchase. I kept contacting them only to be put off with the same excuses. I visited their web site numerous times to see the very same Monitor "ViewSonic VG2021M 20" Multimedia Digital
LCD listed now at at higher price and each time it said it was in stock. They claimed that their website is changed every 24 hours and that items can run out in that time, well it's been 22 days and all I get is a run around. I finally decided that I'd cancel my order and go somewhere else. I'm still not sure how that's going to go. I'll never recommend them to anyone ever. I believe they didn't want to sell me the item at the original price quoted, rather they upped the cost and offered free shipping. What a scam."
"Ordered many times from buy, it has always went smoothly. The $10 off $30 for google checkout has made me do a large part of my Christmas shopping at buy.com. My orders never take more than 1 week to arrive."
"Over the last several months I have placed orders with Buy.com using Google checkout. Buy.com has always tried to trick you by defaulting to higher priced shipping on items advertised as free shipping. I have always watched for that.
On this last order I selected free shipping and then used Google checkout. When the invoice came back from Google the shipping method had again been changed back to the higher priced shipping. This is a very deceptive practice.
I went to the Google site and requested the order be cancelled and to the Buy.com site and requested cancellation. The order was placed late Friday night and the cancellations were within one hour. Buy.com sent two emails denying the cancellations claiming the product was too far into the shipping process.
This was a blatant lie, this item could not have entered any shipping process late Friday night within an hour after ordering.
All other etailers allow cancellations until shipment. This kind of invoice manipulation and shipping deception is a pure scam by Buy.com
I have placed close to 10 orders with this company over the last month. If they make a pricing error or inventory error they do not have a problem canceling orders. If the error benefits them then the order cannot be cancelled.
Why take advantage of a repeat customer for a $7 shipping cost error?

I even ordered a very expensive digital camera from them and received it before I recieved the memory card I ordered from another vendor. "Sometime in the past couple of years, buy.com went from being the darling of the e-commerce world to the absolute toilet. TERRIBLE customer service and even worse inventory control. I ordered a game on October 30th for a friend. THey charged my credit card and I figured that meant that something was on its way. One week later, no response from them. I contact them about where the item is and they give me the line of "oh, we really don't have any in stock and have no idea when we're getting it in."
I of course was infuriated. I told them immediately to cancel the order. They dilly dally for several more days and say "oh, we can't do tha now, since we just shipped it out." Lo and behold, a full week and a half after they charge my credit card, it gets shipped.
Unprofessional group to buy from now. I will never do business with them again. Not in the slightest bit apologetic about the whole issue too. I would be somewhat sympathetic if they at least attempted to be 'nice' about the issue. Apparently, they replaced all their human operators with robots and computerized scripts.
BEWARE if you want to buy anything from them. ESPECIALLY during the holiday season."

"Here is my saga, on 12/20/05 I ordered a 400gb Hard Drive, instead I received a 300gb, I asked for a RMA and shipped it back, on 1/30/06 the new Hard Drive was shipped, but again it was a 300gb, this happened again and again, I called up Buy.com Customer Service and they told me I will be getting a 400gb HD, the fifth time I asked for a RMA (which is valid for ten day), it took Buy.com almost two weeks to issue it, in the meantime I wasn't home and when I came back the RMA had already expired, I was really tired of calling Buy.com that I put the whole thing on hold.
After a few months I call up again, this time I wanted a refund, I knew that I won't be getting the 400gb ever... I was told that over a month had passed and they can't do any returns after a month, so now I'm stuck with a 300gb Hard Drive.

"No communication what-so-ever from buy.com. Never received a confirmation of the order I submitted. I never received replies to questions that I submitted via their website. They never even sent an email to confirm my cancellation of the order. I cancelled my order after waiting two days with my order still processing. I've used buy.com before and have been very happy with their service and prices. Now I'm not too sure about either one. I actually saved money by using newegg.com instead (without having to use any of those annoying mail-in rebates too!)!"
"Buy.com pretends to compete with Amazon.com. Maybe they do in price but certainly not in customer service. A month ago I ordered several DVDs at good prices from buy.com. They sent me the wrong DVD, so I contacted customer support by email to replace the it. Although the problem was simple, even after many emails they couldn't figure it out. So I spoke by telephone. This, too, was painful, but finally it appeared they had it figured out. But no, I received word today that my card is credited and I'll have to buy the replacement at over twice the price. Calling them to explain their error made no difference. I once had a similar problem with Amazon.com. I even had to call them. But once on the phone they sent me a replacement DVD immediately and a $10 promotional certificate for my pain. What a difference!"
"Buy.com's "Low price guarantee" is a sham. If you read the "fine print", any coupons, rebates, bundles, promtions or free shipping negate the match! Even though they insist you include competitors' shipping prices if you get free shipping, you're stuck! And I would say 90% of their merchandise is free shipping! Also, BEWARE OF USING GOOGLE CHECKOUT! It's completely separate and your order doesn't track to your buy.com account. When I checked my order today (11/1), I found out that buy.com had lowered THEIR OWN PRICE by $57!!! I called and asked them to adjust my order, since it hadn't even been boxed yet - and they said they couldn't! So I told them to cancel it and they said they would and I reordered it for the new price (which actually can't be beat). Then they told they had already shipped the first one, but I could refuse it. So I called them back and they STILL refused to do a price adjustment. Even though they will end up eating the shipping and would save a bunch of hassle for both of us, they won't adjust the order. In the end, I'll wait a week and save $75 (I ordered cheaper shipping this time) and they'll eat $25 in overnight shipping. What an idiotic way to do business - and it'll take a lot to get me back."
