"Having terrible problems with this company. 1 out of 3 items froma single order arrived. The 1 which arrived was defective. Customer service personell contradicted tracking service. Claims- awaiting their JUDGEMENT
I had to spend over 35-40 min with customer service to get my problem (solved?)
buy.com does not pay for the returns pick up by UPS so i have to hunt for a UPS store tomorrow. Very annoying. They have no regard for the customers time.

"I purchased an ATI HDTV Wonder card from buy.com due to a rebate offer. Buy.com claimed they lost my rebate documents. I sent a second copy and they claimed they lost it again. At that point they said the rebate period was over and they refused to honor the rebate. Shame on you!!!"
"Owing to the incentives by Google checkout, I made a number of purchases like router, PCMCIA wireless adapter and a technical book. The prices were the lowest available and shipping was amazingly fast. They even called me when one of my order did not ship for 2 days. I found that the book I bought was more than 90% at Amazon so I made a price-match request and they emailed me that a refund is made (I hope I get it.). Contrary t o the review on this website, they refunded even though I did Google Checkout. Now they have lowered the book price.
Over the years I hade made around 10 purchases (all deals offcourse) and I was not let down ever. I think Buy.com is trying to rebuild its image and thats good for us and them as well.
NB: I ordered once again (Google offcourse) but this time I screwed up the order and tried cancelling it through customer service. It sucked.
They never pick the phone. So I sent 10 emails abt canceling and they did so. Phew!!!!!!!!"
"When I went to buy an item I did not get to pick "which one" of my credit cards to use, so I used the wrong one. I immediately (within seconds) cancelled the order, and reordered with the proper card.
Nooooooooo....."we cannot cancel" So now, I have two orders, shipped on the same day with "refuse" the one. How the heck am I supposed to know.
C'mon Buy.com you can't cancel an order when the cancellation was requested in less than one minute?

Purchased a Magellan Roadmate 360 North America GPS Receiver as new. After placing order I noticed they changed the offer to refurbished, with same price. Called customer service and they claimed they had a limited stock of new units, the rest are refurbished, and they don't know which one will ship.
Sent them the jpg screen prints showing product was defined as new before order, then the new screen defined as refurbished - they said they cannot comment because their customer service is not allowed to open email pictures!!
After shipping they said mine is refurbished and they want me to pay for the return."
"I have had two experiences with buy.com. The first was terrible, i ordered an MP3 player here since they accepted paypal, and they charged my account for the item, but claimed that I had not. I had paypal backing me up, and tried to call them initially, where i was immediately sent to a messaging service in India. They were of no help. It was once i called their hq ***-***-****, its the only place you'll get help) and asked to speak to a representative that I was able to get help, and they did not fix my problem until TWO weeks later. After that i pledged not to order again. Amazon gave me immediate results (and still does)
Well, this order was for a 2gb memory card that would total $10 after rebates, but the rebate must be postmark by 12/4/06, and i recieved my item on 12/6/06. I ordered this item almost a month ago (Nov 9th) and they shipped out yesterday. Horrible. I'm returning the item now (not worth it), and i have no experiences with that, but i hope its not as bad.
I was willing to give buy.com a second chance, but they failed. Don't take your chances. "

"The worst transaction in my long history of online buying. They provided two offers at once: google checkout offer and Buy.com credit card offer. They give you a subtotal that reflects BOTH the google discount AND the credit card discount. They assured me that though the discount didn't show up on the invoice, it WOULD show up on the credit card statement. Total lie. Once the statement came, Buy.com said, "Sorry 'bout yo' luck," and informed me that any additional promotion or offer constitutes a coupon and double coupons are not allowed. There is no asterisk on the offer page. No small print. Nothing to tell you that you can't receive both discounts. In fact, they give you a "new" subtotal on the offer page which, again, reflects BOTH discounts. But you fulfill the requirements and jump through all the hoops... you only get one... the CHEAPER one. Customer service has you on hold FOREVER and they hung up on me after 40 minutes. Another time they hung up on me after OVER AN HOUR. They will not budge; they don't care about the customer or their blatant deceit. They also outsource to India, so unless you understand the THICK dialect without subtitles, it is aggravating and embarrassing to say the least. If you value your money and your sanity, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY."

on the 11/15/2006, they claimed it was shipped by UPS and till this day i have yet to receive this item from UPS nor from Buy.com was on hold for about 30 minutes and was basically told "tough luck" they also handed me some jargon about them not responsible for lost shipments.
I have already taken to BBB and I am very glad that I Citibank immediately refunded me the money while they do their own investigation with Buy.com in the meantime.
