"I pre-ordered an Intel Core 2 Duo processor (E6600) for $360 when it was originally available on their website. Over a month later and it hadn't shipped (I didn't really expect it to, not the point), and the processor shows up on their site again for $40 less and free shipping. I email customer service to ask for a price adjustment, assuming it would be no big deal since they never even charged my card, let alone shipped the item. I got a default reply saying I exceeded the 3 day pricematch policy. I replied asking if they would rather I just cancel my original order and repurchase it at the lower price, to which they replied with the exact same "you exceeded the 3 day policy" stock response. Terrible customer service... I canceled my order as well as another one I had open with them and will take my business elsewhere."

"Buy.com was once a good store with which to do business. Now all I can say is "STAY AWAY FROM THEM". Their low prices do not even come close to making up for a total lack of any real customer service. Any money I saved on the product has been eaten up by the time wasted trying to get some "customer service" and the gas to drive the package to a drop off spot. They supplied me with the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Prepare for long waits and multiple calls to speak to a "supervisor" if your call requires anyone to make a decision. Even if you get a supervisor all they can say is what I call the "could nots". They could not issue a call back tag, could not get me a replacement item unless I reorder, could not transfer me to a supervisor, could not expedite a replacement product.
My item arrived with the outer shipping carton intact but the inner package opened. I believe they sent me a used or returned item. I "could not" get a supervisor at "customer service" for a very long time and the emails from them kept asking the same, very stupid questions. For example:
- Is the original packaging intact?
I have emailed several times that it arrived opened. Now, I either have to take this to a UPS drop off spot, waste my time and gasoline because of the used merchandise they sent me or just keep it as a reminder NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH BUY.COM again

I have ordered several times before and up to this point, I would have given them a good rating but they obviously need a lot of work on customer service.

"I ordered a Brother P-touch label maker on Monday afternoon. It was listed as in stock. Ground shipping was free. I used Google Checkout, which was convenient. I received a prompt order confirmation. On Tuesday afternoon I received an email indicating that my order had been shipped. I was able to obtain the Fedex tracking number by checking the order status on the web site. The package arrived on Wednesday afternoon. The item was in perfect working condition, as expected."

"I ordered an item which was advertised as in stock and would USUALLY ship in 1-2 business days. After a week, I inquired about when the item would be shipped, and received an automated e-mail response: "We do not yet have an estimated shipping date. However, you will receive a shipping confirmation email as soon as your order ships."

I then went thru their cancellation process online and ordered the item from Crutchfield.
The next day I was sent an e-mail that the item was already in the "shipping process", and couldn't be cancelled.

I called VISA, and they instructed me to refuse UPS delivery, which I did, and the item was returned to BUY.com.

According to UPS tracking, the item reached BUY.com three weeks ago, but I've not received credit on my VISA yet.

Of course, I've got my credit card company working on the disputed charge, but the whole deal is really aggrevating.

I would avoid BUY.com like the plague!!!

"For the 3rd time, buy.com has screwed me. I always think maybe they've changed, but I'm pretty sure most of the money they make is posting great deals on stuff, taking the orders, taking your money, delaying your order indefinitely, and then sitting on that financial capital until you finally give up and cancel the order. I'm pretty sure this company is 70% scam and 30% actual product. 3 years ago, I ordered a stick of RAM from them, which showed as in-stock. They charged my CC and then delayed the shipment due to lack of inventory. I waited and waited and eventually forgot about it. 18 months later I logged into my buy.com account and noticed that the memory was still delayed, so I cancelled it. They cancelled the order, but never refunded my CC. So I called to complain, and they gave me the runaround about it being such an old order. I tried to go through my CC company, but it was too late, screwed. Buy.com sucks that way. So today they had a really good deal on a memory stick, and because I love getting screwed apparently, I ordered, and I paid with my Paypal account. It was in stock when I ordered, but then, within an hour, I receive an email saying there has been a "surprise delay". Jesus H. So I call to ask about an ETA, and talk to Apu, who has no clue when I might actually get a memory stick. So I said screw it and cancelled the order. Now I have to wait patiently to see if buy.com will refund my money to my Paypal account.

Stay away from buy.com, it is literally one of the top 5 worst web retailers!

"On July 4th i purchased an LCD monitor which was in stock, and wrote that it usually ships in 1-2 days. On July 13th, i receive an e-mail that the item is out of stock and the order was canceled and I will not be charged. However, during the week since I made my pruchase, the item has been in stock every day. A few hours later, I get an e-mail that they found my item, and it has been shipped with a new order number. An hour after that, I get another e-mail that they found a monitor and my previously canceled order is reinstated and the item has been shipped out. So after getting an e-mail that I will not be charged, I get charged for 2 items.
After arguing with them, they tell me to ship it back for a refund. 2 weeks after I shipped it back, i get an e-mail that my replacement monitor has been sent to me. After calling and complaining, i get lied to by the manager, after which he just hangs up on me. So basically they took my $200 and just dont want to return it to me. Will never to business with again.

"Company apparently outsources its customer support to a company who doesn't train their employees very well. If you have any problems with your item or need help for ANY reason - you are screwed.

I will NEVER deal with this company again and would HIGHLY recommend you steer as far away as possible.

"I placed an order for an in-stock item on Sunday, July 23. On Thursday, July 27, I checked the web site and saw that the order was still being processed. I emailed customer support but did not receive an explanation by Sunday, July 30. At that point, the item was listed as being "on order". I called customer support, who said there had been a problem verifying the billing information through Google Checkout. They were not able to tell me why I had not been contacted or why the item still listed as "in stock" was "on order" for me. I cancelled the order."

"Absolute crap for customer service. I ordered 3 itmes one was backordered for 2 months. I finally go to their website and it says the item is available and should ship within 24 hours. I contact them and finally they say it is unavailable and they have to cancel the order. I order from newegg and get it in 2 days.

Then I get a message that I placed a new order on buy.com - I didn't - for the same item, but I need to update my shipping address for it to complete. I ignore it. Then I get an email that the order has shipped. I reply that I did not place this order and the previous order was cancelled and also forward them the email that they sent me that the order was cancelled. Then it shows up on my doorstep. I refuse the order with fedex and contest the charges with my bank. They have no phone number for a contact on their website.

Needless to say I will never buy from them again.

"I generally only write about stores I have had problems with, so I thought I should rate some of the good stores I have purchased from. I have dealt with buy.com for several years, mostly purchasing computer things. I think this store has fairly good prices, good shipping times, pretty good return procedures/processes. I have never been 'burned' by them.

As I have stated previously - I have never had a problem with this vendor. But, after reading all the negative responses, I am now reluctant to buy anything worth more than 40-50 dollars. I had been considering a $300 item, but will look at their customer service before considering.
