"I normally go through Amazon or an actual store to get electronics, but I thought I'd give buy.com a chance since it was only a small purchase. Man did they blow it. First all of that login hassle, then search syntax had to be just right before I got the product listings I needed. After going through the many pages of purchase info (why can't this be on one page?), the item that was supposed to have free shipping, showed a shipping charge.
Turns out the preset toggle for "standard shipping" isn't so standard, it is an upgrade. And, they don't show you you final amount until it is too late. So I tried to find a phone number on their website and couldn't. The press releases are even done buy an outside company so no luck with a number on those. Finally I had to search the internet, ding! ding! ding! There it was on a couple of websites (not this one) with customer service horror stories. There was a toll free number that sends you off to India (don't get me started on that).
Then I found the corporate number ***-***-****), I wanted to let someone in California know I wasn't happy about the purchase process. Travis was a joke of a Customer Service VP. He was defensive right off the bat and sounded like he was having a really bad day. I could see why working for this outfit. Needless to say the order was cancelled, and my business went elsewhere.
After seeing them have to issue more stock to pay for advertising, I would not be at all surprised to see them out of business soon. Why try to get new customers if they are just going to run them off with bad service? "

I asked when it would ship and, alough I was promptly responded to each time, I was always responded with a usless awnser. I told them I wanted a refund, and they promptly did. Now the problem is;
The order was for $576.96 but they only refunded me $569. They cannot give me an awnser why this happned. The order was never shipped or even processed. Im contacting my credit card company for fraud."
"Even though their website listed the item as being in-stock and shipping the same day, I decided to call and they confirmed this. I immediately placed my order. Instead of the free shipping offer, I paid for same day shipping. Five days later I received a vague email that the item is not in stock, but no info on what the status is of the backorder.
In spite of their stated policy of not charging your card until it ships, they authorized my card the day of the order and charged it the next day (a full 3 days before telling me it was not in stock)
It takes a while for these people to get back to answering their emails. And a estimate of another 7 to 10 days before the charge is taken off my credit card, so I can order somewhere else, amounts to a couple weeks wasted.
After talking with someone else I work with who had the same experience, I think they mislead about their stock situation on purpose, so that once you know how much time you've invested in the process and the daunting of how much time to order somewhere else, you give up and keep the order alive with them.

"My phone purchase through this store was a complete hassle. Both me and my girlfriend purchased cell phones with new contracts and rebates. Both of us asked for our old number to be ported over to the new phone. Neither of us is happy with the "customer service" at the store. Here's a quick rundown of everything that went wrong:
1)we both got phones with wrong new numbers and not the ported numbers we asked for. I sent mine back, she took hers to the cell provider to have it changed.
2)she received a bill for $200 for not honoring her terms of service (since she had her number changed to the one she originally asked for). After several phone calls this was fixed.
3)Rebate number one (provider rebate): We submitted our rebate forms on the same day. She got her rebate a few weeks later. I never heard back from them. I inquired and they claimed never to have received it. I had to re-send copies of everything again. three months later I got my rebate.
4)Rebate #2 (cellphonerebates.com): After submitting all required information I was denied the rebate, they claimed I did not include a valid copy of my receipt. I'm still fighting them on this.
Conclusion: buy.com and their cellphone store are a complete scam. They claim to have these great rebates, but they will miss-process your order, lose rebate forms, and engage in other shenanegans in order to charge you bs fees and to deny rebate claims. If you must do business with these theives, make sure you keep copies of everything and be prepared for a long uphill battle.
I will NEVER shop there again.

In any case, we purhcsed some computer hardware from them. Overall a great experience. Shipment came on time (about a week later) and prices were GREAT!
You know what they say, you can't have the best of everything. So, if I can pay $20 less on something I don't mind waiting the extra day or two.
