"Placed order for an item that ws showing "IN STOCK" Status. This was almost a month ago. The item has STILL not shipped and customer service is virtually non-existant. I am extremely dissatisfied and will NEVER EVER place an order with Buy.com. I ordered this item from them in the first place just because their price was a few dolloars less than other places. BIG MISTAKE !!! If I had just paid the few bucks more and got the item elsewhere, I would actually have it in hand long ago !

And this is not my first such experience. This is the fourth order that Buy.com has messed up for me this way. WHY SHOW AND ITEM "IN STOCK" IF IT REALLY NOT IS ??? This is flat our cheating customers.

Until very recently they didn't even have a way to contact customer service by phone. E-Mail was the only way, and that too most of my e-mails went unanswered.

My only advise to others - LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE. DON'T GET FOOLED BY THE PRICES AT BUY.COM ... YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT A LOOOONG TIME TO GET YOUR ITEM. EXTREMELY POOR MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.

"I placed my order on Tuesday and specifically went with their free 7-10 day shipping because I was heading out of town for 5 days the next day.

I got home Sunday night to see that my order had been delivered to the appartment office on Friday.

3 days turn around for free shipping sure impressed me.

"I should have read the comments before making my purchase. Although I had placed orders with them in the past and have had nothing but smooth orders, so I didn't hesitate when I saw the great price. Now after reading the comments, I am very sorry. It has since been 17 days since my purchase of an in stock item. I got a tracking number, but the number is not in their tracking system still, but I didn't worry to much at first. I requested free budget shipping, but this is ridiculous. Who would have known budget shipping took more than 17 days. Service is no help, just suggested that I place a claim, no idea when it will arrive. But they won't place a claim before 21 days. I guess ordering in November is not enough time for Christmas purchases. Think twice before ordering, I should have stuck with mwave.com. Now, I know better. "

"Item never received. Opened claim as tracking information proved item was lost in mail. Several emails to BUY.COM help desk were never followed up on. Very poor customer support
UPDATE 15-15 - Finally got through to cust support (India) on Sunday. They commited to correct issue within 48h. Committment not kept. I have opened a Better Business Bureau complaint.
Suggest you avoid BUY.COM as their support rating has plummeted to the lowest I have seen.

"I saw an ad for a monitor on sale w/free shipping on Buy.Com. Went to the site, ordered the monitor and left the shipping selection to its defaulted value. On checkout, there was a disclaimer that said regardless of the total price, which included shipping; I would not be charged for the shipping. I got my credit card bill and shipping was included. When I questioned the billing, Buy.Com said I should have selected "budget shipping" for free shipping. Nowhere on the form did it even mention that. I would not buy from them again. They’re a bunch of crooks."

"Ordered a DVD that was on a half price sale on 11/26, which was marked as shipping in 1-2 business days. Waited till 12/6 to cancel the order as a full business week had passed and it was not sent out. Instantly as I cancelled my order which I had a coupon on, the coupon was cancelled but the product in the order was not. 12/6 was a saturday, so fair enough since it wasnt a business day, Monday comes and passes, nothing happens, then on Tuesday night my order showed as shipped, earlier in the day it still wasnt shown as that. So now since the coupon was cancelled right away I get charged the full price on the product I ordered. So they have a nice little loophole they can work with, if people cancel orders in which the coupons get cancelled instantly even though the products dont, so then the person is charged full price. I have emailed their support and its been 3 days since then and I have no heard back from them still."

"I remember buy.com as much better online store than it is now. I ordered an SD card that was listed "IN Stock" and was waiting and waiting and waiting. Nothing. The status was still "Sent to warehouse". I called and spoke with highly erregant guy in India. He basically said that it is backordered and he has no clue when they'll get it(The item was still showing "In Stock" on the web site). I asked to cancel the order and was told it takes 3 to 5 days to cancel it meanwile they may still ship it. Very confusing and stupid. Anyway, after 3 days or so my oreder status changed to cancelled. There is no way I'm shopping at this place again. There are much better online stores with the same prices and much better communication."

"Ordered this item and the web site stated in stock. The next day the web site stated "very few left so order now". I called Customer Service to ask status of my order due to past experiences of having to wait for a back order after ordering an "in stock" product. Sure enough this order was waiting for the product to come in and was in a back order status. The part that irked me the most is while the Customer Service rep was telling me this product was on back order their web site stated that they still had this prduct in stock and would ship in 1 to 2 days. Please know that I was not looking at a cached page either. I made sure the page was a fresh page. This is a Christmas present and I feel BUY.COM has no reguard for the consumer here. Their web site is lying to the consumer. Beware!

"I ordered 3 items. Two of the items shipped right away, and one item's status was changed to "backorder". So, I cancelled this item and received an email confirming the cancellation along with the cancellation of a coupon offer that was with the item.

The next day I received another email saying the item had shipped - conveniently without the coupon. Well, I already ordered it from somewhere else - so now not only do I lose the coupon, but have to pay shipping charges both ways to return it. This is not the end of the story though...

When the item arrived, I returned it to Buy.com.
Some time later, I recieved the credit notification stating they refunded me $35 - HOWEVER, the item cost me $45. I assumed this was some mix up with the $10 coupon. I logged into my account to begin resolving the problem, and viewed my bill, which now stated that not only did they refund me $10 less than I paid, but they charged me $55 for the item - $10 more than the stated price. I check my credit card statement and they did indeed overcharge me for this item. So now not only did Buy.com stiff me on the $10 coupon, but they charged me an additional $10 (all this for an item that was confirmed cancelled). Buy.com now owes me $20.00

I call customer service, waited 10 minutes, and got a foreign lady on the phone that didn't seem to understand the problem (I admit it's a little confusing). She says everything is fine and to wait for my refund to actually go through on my credit card. So, I do, and sure enough the refund is only $35.00. I call back and get another foreign person (India), and finally convince them that Buy.com owes me $20.00. A couple of hours later I get an email telling me that they've requested a $10 credit to my account - not $20, but $10. At this point I'm too frustrated to even bother trying to get the rest of my money back.

You are taking a BIG risk ordering from these people - if you encounter any problems, you will have a horrible time trying to resolve them. Just take a look at how their rating has plummeted and it's obvious the company is having problems and may be on it's way out. I thought I was going to save 10 bucks ordering from them vs. the next store, but all of these problems have ended up costing me more than $20.00 in overcharges and unnecessary shipping costs.

ONE LAST THING: I used a fairly new email account for this order, and soon after ordering am now receiving a lot of spam mail that is originating from the same source, along with daily emails from Buy.com themselves. Before placing this order, my email account had been spam free for 2 months. Looks like they aren't above selling your email address to spammers if you aren't careful. Make sure you uncheck the proper box if you decide to order from these crooks.

"On 9/10/2004, I ordered two (2) 1 GB SanDisk Ultra II Compact Flash cards from Buy.com. Order was shipped on 09/27//2004 and my credit card was charged for the two cards. Shipment never arrived (tracking showed it stuck in Hayward, CA for weeks).

I filed a claim with Buy.com on 10/13/2004 asking for a replacement shipment of two (2) 1 GB SanDisk Ultra II Compact Flash Cards. After an unnecessarily long delay the claim was approved on 10/30/04 and a one (1) 1 GB SanDisk Ultra II was sent.

Follow up email and phone calls asking about the second card that was ordered and paid for, were ignored. Money charged for the second card was NOT refunded.

Issue has been referred to my credit card company for resolution.
