"After pre-ordering my game, and trying to apply gift certificates. The GCs were not applied. I tried writing customer support three times, with no reply. Then, after trying to cancel my item, which had not been released yet, and could not possibly have been shipped, i was only allowed a cancellation request, and then was shipped the item 2 days after release. In all, i wrote 5 times, only received one reply, which was simply a rehash of their site's FAQ."

"Once again they canceled an order, then put up the same product on their website for a higher price. This is the same product, same sku that they said the wouldn't fufill. This time it was a usb drive, last time it was a hard drive, then a video card then memory. See the pattern avoid them and send your business to a company that understands customer service."

"Buy.com constantly uses bait and switch tactics. This most recient time they canceled orders and removed the item saying that it was sold out. Then re-added it with a higher price. As compensation they gave a 5$ coupon that doesnt even work."

"I purchased a Western Digital harddrive by accident with an EIDE connection instead of the SATA one needed by my new computer. I tried to return it unopened, unused, brand-new! I got a run-around for weeks. They not only didn't follow-up and call me as they said they would, they refused to accept it back for credit. I am stuck with a brand new drive I can't use. their customer service is bad news. BEWARE! I will never buy from them again."

"First they cancelled my order but were nice enough to send a $5 gift code. The bad part is the code wasn't valid. I have tried emailing multiple departments using their own email contact utility to ask why it doesn't work and all the emails bounce."

"Order placed successfully and sent to warehouse. After a few days I go to check status and order is mysteriously cancelled. Later, I receive an apologetic email, however, this type of practice is characteristic of Buy.com. Tempt you with good deals, then cancel those deals and try to make you spend more money than you originally intended by offering modest coupons."

"The worst experience untill now with a web store. I ordered two compact flash memories and asked for the free shipping. I knew I may have to wait 2 to 3 days extra for shipping, but after a whole week nothing happened. I found a better deal and cancelled the order. They say it takes 2 or three days to have the item cancelled, but another week and "cancelling request" was still posted on their web site. And... surprise, 15 days after the order and 7 after cancelling it... I received an email that one item was shipped! I sent an email to ask them at least not to ship the second one. The answer, very polite, came the next day, together with another one saying the second item was shipped. I asked for a RMA and send back them, but it took a full month and several emails to recover the money. I do not recommand this selled, it has good prices but very bad service. Amazon is in the same position and are much better with the services."

Yeah, right. Like I want a $5 dollor coupon. I want the product I ordered. Now when look at the price it's like $20 more. Where I come from, stores stand by their advertised price even if they've made an error.

I won't be doing business with buy.com again...

"Order was accepted Saturday, status: "Sent to warehouse". Still valid Monday. Today (Wednesday) I find it cancelled when I check my account, but never was even notified of this). Cecking the on-line community I find this apparently happened for everyone who ordered. Bogus response from support gave the vague statement "your order contained information from our supplier that was in error". Nothing was in error, checking elsewhere confirms the item was exactly as described on the site. This is apparently a common thing for buy.com to do! "
