"- Placed order on 7/31.
- Cancelled order on 8/7 because it still had not shipped and I could not wait for it.
- Order still shipped on 8/12, and it arrived on 8/18.
- Returned order on 8/19.
- On 9/10, got verbal confirmation from a customer service rep that item was returned and I would get a credit.
- On 9/21, still no credit so I called and was told that they did not get the item returned.

I will never buy from BUY.COM again!!!

"Ordered a set of Logitech Z 3 - PC Multimedia Speaker System for $55.99 on 9/19/04. When I was ordering I went to change my credit card information and after I hit continue to go back to the previous page, it took me to buy.com's home page.... WTF... no problem just put it in my shopping cart and order again. After ordering I left and came back later to find out I was charged twice on my credit card and to find two emails about 2 orders. I didn't even complete the first order! No big deal, I canceled the extra order. "Cancelation Requested" is what I see untill today 9/21/04 where it now states SHIPPED. Now I'm getting two orders and I can only send in one rebate. Absolute crap. Worse yet I contacted them on their website through contact us and I got an email saying the email didn't go through! From their own website!!! And that was on the 19th. I also called and guess what, their phone number didn't even work! I emailed them again today, hopefully they will get back to me but doubtfully. I'll have to sell that extra set of speakers. This place is crap."

"Buy.com is a fraud. Liars! I wanted to cancel my order on the Sept 16th. I have requested for cancellation. But then later, they have said the item has been shipped, so it cannot be cancelled. Order status updated said shipped on sept 16. Check USPS tracking, not working. On Sept 20th, I check again, now it shows updates and it says that they have receive shipping information from buy.com on Septh 20th. Means they never really shipped it on Sept 16! They do it just because so I cannot cancel my order!! They are fraud!! Bunch of liars!! I will never buy from buy.com again."

"When placed an order, All items showed "In Stock". The mouse was shipped first but status of Memory card was changed to "Sent to Warehouse". Everyday I checked my order, it changed from "Sent to Warehouse" to "Processing" back to "Sent to Warehouse". I wondered what were they doing. 8 days later after order was placed, the status changed again now to "On Order". Buy.com is very unreliable. It's been 10 days now and I haven't received my memory card."

"I ordered a few cables that I needed to go with my DVD player. At first I was confused by the cables because there were two of the same type just for different prices. I ended up going with the cheaper ones and it was the ones I wanted just being sold for a discount rather than the retail price. There site needs to contain a bit more product information, but overall I would surly order from them again."

"1. Buy.com lists as "in stock" items which are not. When pressed they claim "in stock" means it was in stock within the past 24 hours.

2. Buy.com allows you to cancel an order, but they treat the cancelation as a "request," with their response taking one business day to email you with the result. This, even though the item was just emailed to me as backordered.

3. Buy.com emails you saying "sorry for the delay" for your order. Only when you follow up with the obvious question, "When will it be shipped?" do they then tell you the item is backordered with no estimate of ship date.

The company has richly deserved its lousy rating! I should have listened and avoided it. AVOID BUY.COM AT ALL COSTS!

"VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.

Second time buying with buy.com. First order, a battery for my cordless phone came through without too much trouble. Ordered two CF cards which were supposedly in stock. Only received email thanking for the order. No word for OVER A WEEK! Online status 'sent to warehouse', and no word from buy.com. Had to send them an email, and only then hear that it's in backorder. Apparanetly, if you don't write and ask, they don't consider you important enough to inform you as to the status of your order. Can understand running out of item, can't understand their customer service. Also, very hard to find contact information online. Goes to show they just don't want to hear from customers. Will never shop here again.

"I bought 2 phones that advertised 57.00. When I called to purchase them, I was told they would cost $200.00 (the same price as a local Verizon store) but, I would get coupons for $150.00 back. In addition, I was supposed to get a coupon to buy more stuff from buy.com, which was supposed to amount to $80.00. Then the buy.com nightmare started. After receiving the phones and paying $400.00. I found no coupons in the box, the phones did not work and no information on activation. I called to get support, after waiting 30 minutes the sales person, who worked for infonic.com (buy.com fronted for them) told me to call Verizon and would send the coupon, which should have been in the box. I waited two weeks and found no coupons in my E-mail or mailbox. I called back and got the same run around. Well, 40 days later and 5 phone calls they are still saying they will send the rebates in the mail. I still have nothing other than a bill for $400.00 and one phone has a broken charger, which they will not replace."

"WORST FU#$KING PLACE TO BUY.WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANNA LOSE YOUR MONEY.

Ordered a muvo tx on 8.30.04, when it clearly stated it was in stock. After many e-mails, they said it's backordered, so I cancel order. They decide to cancel my $10 rebate, then e-mailed me back next day saying that item will ship soon. So what should have been a 79.99 - 10 rebate, plus free shippng turned in to 79.99 + 10 for shipping. So instead of 70, I ended up paying 90 dollars. Amazon.com sells this same item for $82 with free shipping. No lies and bad customer service over there. DO NOT BUY FROM BUY.COM, THIS IS THE WORST INTERNET SITE EVER. I HATE YOU BUY.COM.

"Order Placed 9/14/04

I made a purchase yesterday for an IQUE GPS/PDA unit. Item was shipped same day and I was provided a tracking number.

It seems that some of you have unrealistic expectations. Do you really expect buy.com to have every single item on hand that is listed on their website? Do you realize how much cash they would have to have to stock every item? From what I have read, all of you have eventually gotten your item. They are not a fraudulent company in any way, since they eventually send the item.

I should be getting my item tommorow and will update when I do, so far it has gone smoothly. Perhaps, it is because this is a 500.00+ order, I have no idea. I am assuming, a lot of you are teenagers ordering 40.00 memory sticks and low priced deal of the day items. If so you have to be prepared that there will be some sort of delay. The sheer volume this site generates most likely causes a backlog.

If you want your item immediately either, A. Pay for overnight shipping or 2nd day air shipping or B. Go buy it in a brick and morter store.

Thinking that your 40.00 keyboard purchase with free shipping should get to your door immediately is both unrealistic and shows you have no idea how a buisness operates.


UPDATE: 9/16/04: 2 Days after order was placed the item arrived at my doorstep.

"Very sad. I have purchased a lot of items over the years from them, but no more.
I ordered an item using a 10% off coupon. Received a confirmation email for the full price, so I immediately used their website inquiry form to ask about the amount difference. No reply. days later, my order was still pending so I cancelled it. It said “cancel pending” for a few more days so I sent another website based inquiry to them. No reply. Days later I got an automated email saying my order was out of stock and was cancelled. Another American company that is using off-shore customer service and it shows.

"This my second order with Buy.com where my order was placed on an in-stock item, and I find out later a few days later the item is not in stock. What burns me most is in both cases I’ve paid for premium shipping, which is money that should be refunded, but try getting a hold of someone to ask for you money back! Good luck!"
