"I can not even explain how much buy.com sucks. I placed an order on August 8th for a Logitech MX Duo using a $10 off $75 coupon that was emailed to me. First of all the item showed in stock on the website when i ordered. The order was placed on Sunday night, and by that next Thursday the status had not updated. I contacted buy.com and they said the item was backordered, so I requested a cancellation which was confirmed. In the meantime I went out and bought a wireless mouse/keyboard locally because this was for a clients computer and I needed it ASAP. Well about a week after I cancelled it I get an email saying the product had shipped. This is after I already had cancelled it, on top of that they overcharged my credit card by $10. It was supposed to be $65.02 and I was charged $75.02. Three weeks later and several refund promises later I have no refund. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, their customer service is pathetic. Stay Away, far away!!"

"WARNING!!!
PHONE NUMBERS NOT AVAILABLE ON BUY.COM!
I tried to buy one wireless adaptor online on Sept 6th (labor day), for some reasons their site wouldn't accept my order and I continued receiving error messages using both browsers Netscape and Internet Explorer. So I thought their site was down and waited a few hours later to try it again. Unfortunately, buy.com already charged my credit card for two orders even though online transaction has never been completed. I wanted to call them to cancel one of the orders, but had no luck finding customer service numbers, so I cancelled one of the orders online instead. The next day I noticed they decided to ship both orders. Also, I supposed to get free shipping which was not giving to me. One of my friends went through the same problem when he tried to buy one dvd player, received two instead and free shipping wasn't giving to him either.

"I have read lots of bad reviews about buy.com but have just recently had two great experiences with them. Most recently I order a Pentium 4 3.0E processor from them. They had it priced $20 cheaper than anyone else plus had a 10% off coupon on top of that so it ended up $40 cheaper. I received it 3 days after I ordered it with free shipping. I had order a Canon printer from them about 2 weeks earlier and it arrived 5 days after the order was placed. Both items were new, sealed, retail box items. Given what others are saying about them I guess I got lucky."

"This is not the first time buy.com has listed a Hot Deal and then sent the item to backorder upon purchasing it. Later, the item will again be shown as In Stock for immediate shipping on the website but still remain on backorder in the previous order.

Do not deal with buy.com if at all possible. You will not actually ever receive your product, and customer service will only result in a runaround.

"Site indicated available stock. Ordered item and paid $15.00 for next day delivery. Item did not ship. Searched site for customer service number, none found. Googled and found number: 1-***-***-****. Called and spoke to an *overseas* cusomer service rep (that is, NOT one at their acual physical business location), was told that the item is NOW back-ordered, though I have not received any email updates indicating this and though the Buy.com site still indicates availability. Attempted to cancel the order. Customer service rep could only place a cancellation "request", which is pending, though I was informed that the item may still ship. !?! WOW! Glad I picked an ethical online retailer to make a purchase from. NOT!"

"Description on site clearly showed 256MB card. I received a 128MB card, customer service said they would replace it with a 256MB. Sent another 128MB card. They blamed a "technical fault" and changed their web description, I never saw a 256MB card."

Ordered a week ago.

Emailed and reply says working on the order.

Email again pointing out that I had asked direct questions about availability and status so please answer.

I got the SAME "form email".

Looked here and found customer service number. Indian CS says item is backordered. I ask how long and they answer days. I said well why does your website not reflect that now? And why are all of Buy.com's feedback negative and why are they all saying the same thing about delayed delivery and terrible customer service.

Buy.com is likely a busines on its way under. They probably do not have any inventory at all and begin buying upon recieving an order. VERY NEGATIVE, Recommendation: STAY AWAY!

"I cannot begin to say how dissatisfied I am with Buy.com. I tried to order a Nomad Zen Xtra for my father for his birthday. In order to ensure that the item arrived with plenty of time before his birthday, I paid for 2 day shipping. The first business day after I placed my order, I received an automated email from Buy.com stating that my bill to address didn't match the one listed with my bank. I called the bank to confirm that my address was correct. It was. I then replied to their email as instructed, providing my banks 800 number. I waited 24 hours, and when the item didn't ship. I emailed them again, and provided the 800 number as well as explaining my situation. No response. 24 hours later, I sent another email with no response. This continued until that weekend when I received another copy of the first email I received from them. At this point I was getting upset. I went to buy.com to check my order status, only to see the item listed as on backorder. This really got me upset, as I knew from talking to my bank that they had placed a hold on my money.
At this point, I decided to cancel my order, only to find that what I had really done was request that my order be canceled. I would have to wait 2-3 business days to find out if the order was canceled or not. 3 business days from the day I canceled my order was last Wednesday (Sept 3rd) as of today, the 9th, my order is still listed as "cancellation requested", and I have yet to receive a reply to any of my emails, the first of which was sent on the 23rd of last month.
I am still trapped in an annoying limbo with Buy.com. I still don’t have the item I ordered 2+ weeks ago, but I don’t want to pace my order elsewhere, and have to deal with Buy.com if they ship me a second, unwanted, unit. (I can only imagine how difficult they would make that process) I have ordered from Buy.com before without problems, and if it were not for this experience, I would have no trouble recommending them. But because Buy.com does not provide a phone number or answer their email, there is nothing you can do if there is a problem with your order. Therefore I will not be shopping with them again, and suggest that you think twice before doing so too.

"Satisfied, but confused. Unlike just about everyone else here, I got my product, and it appears to be in perfect condition. I ordered "ADS Tech Instant DVD 2.0" on Friday, got a confirmation email from buy.com - then on Saturday I got a shipped email with tracking link (tho I didn't follow the link). Today (Wednesday) - I got an email that my order had been canceled, with no further details.
That was when I made a bee line to ResellerRatings and saw how everyone had such a bad experience and I was kicking myself for not checking here first.
Then, what to my wondering eyes, I was preparing in my mind to write a one line review of buy.com "this is just another scam company, read no further" - a guy from our office services handed me a package - from buy.com! Inside was the product I ordered, packaged perfectly, professionally, nothing amiss.
Of course, when I get it home it may or may not work, that remains to be seen. But so far, I appear to have been one of the LUCKY ones.
If it hadn't been for that weird email about my order being canceled (even tho it wasn't!), I would have never been the wiser - I would have received my order and assumed this was a fine company and probably never given it another thought.
Oh well, my condolences for the rest of you.

The video capture device worked perfectly, nothing missing, everything was as it should be. I feel like I hit the lottery! How did I get so lucky to have received my order, in very short time, nothing awry at all, from a company with a 2.0 rating?! Pure serendipity that I ordered it before checking the ratings in here.

"Ordered an XFX 5700LE videocard on 8-31-04. It shipped within 2 days (at the very end of the 2nd business day - lol) and came as advertised. N

No complaints except on how they packaged my order. The videocard came in its retail box, but the box was simply stuck in a big, unpadded envelope. The videocard box was crunched in on one side, and the fan on the card just missed being crunched by about 1 inch.

Thumbs down to buy.com on their packaging.

"Ordered an Apple wireless mouse from them, saving a few bucks versus buying directly from Apple. That was my first mistake. Never showed up and the have a painfully slow process ot get your money back. Their "tracking" system is useless. I have no mouse and they have my money, and I am reluctant to buy another one elsewhere until this is resolved. It almost feels like this is some sort of scheme."

"Ordered a sonic wall from them as they had the best price and free shipping.
It was in stock when I ordered it and It still had not shipped after a week so I tried to cancel it 3 times and it did not get canceled and on the 4th try they shipped it out, so I then payed for it but they had shipped 2 out and charged me for both. Still unable to return the second one for a refond.

"Avoid doing business with this merchant! Order placed on 08/02/2004 for "in stock" item to "ship in 1 - 2 business days. After 1 week told item not in stock. I told them to cancel my order and they then ship 5 days later. Item was refused and returned to them It has now been 2-1/2 weeks and I still cannot get a refund!

They are totally incompetent, dis-organized and without any leadership!
