"buy.com is one of the worst ever sites where you can buy anything from - their website is well managed and they advertise good prices - but out of the total 4 orders that i've placed in the past year - only 1 has got fulfilled without any events
they cancelled 2 orders without reason - and they didn't even bother informing me thru email - and one order was "on order" for over 6 months before i got fed up and cancelled the item
anytime you see a good deal on buy.com, don't waste your time - its only publicity for which they put up prices - their orders never get honored - ive read some real nasty experiences about them in other forums"

"I took another chance with Buy.com and what a fool I was! This time they completely lied on their site about a Kingston DataTraveler (the product description and all text on the page was for a hi speed 2.0 USB drive, but they sent me an old 1.1 speed one). After contacting them several times via email and phone (a clueless but nice person in India with no real authority), they only gave me canned responses and no real assurance that I could get the right product were I to send it back since I had thrown away some of the blister pack, thinking it was the right drive. I had all of the paperwork, cardboard, and parts.
So...I am forced to keep this slow thing and send in my rebate to Kingston for fear of losing another $10 for a drive I did not want. Buy.com has great stalling techniques. One of their emails in response to my complaint was "We are happy to report that your order is on its way!" No one even read that I already had it and it was the wrong drive! Buyer BEWARE! You cannot even trust that they will send you what they advertise and no one will help you when you find out they did not. I only hope that all of this bad Karma will catch up to them."
"Today is 07/25/2004.
Placed on order on 07/02/2004 for an in stock item. It said it shipped the next day and even had a FedEx shipping number. Problem was that FedEx never actually got the package... only the package information was "transmitted" to FedEx. I called FedEx to confirm this fact. I tried to inform Customer Service of this by email, and after intial responses insisting that they had shipped my package, they said I'd have to file a claim on-line. I had to email them 5 times before getting to that point.
I had trouble filing the claim initially because not enough time had passed for the automated on-line system to allow to file a "Lost Shipment" claim. After waiting a couple of days and still unable to file a lost claim, I filed a "Short shipment" claim.
The claim was accepted on 07/19/2004 but the order still says "Sent to Warehouse" even though the item still purports to ship in 1 to 2 days. I emailed Customer Supprt two days ago about this, and still no response. My credit card was charged on the original ship date 07/02/2004 when nothing actually shipped.
I'd love to cancel the order but I really need the ordered item for a good price. You can bet that I will not be a Buy.com customer again in the future. They used to be great, but now they are terrible."
"The site is most unreliable and customer service also sucks, they never delivered the product i purchased. When i purchased the site indicated the availability of the stock and i was required to mail the mail in rebate by certain date. I was hoping to get the product only to never get it."

Price is relatively cheap, but not the best. Just the cheapest for the product I'm buying as I compare in price comparing website.
Cons:
I chose this retailer as I thought it's gonna arrive fast as we're both in CA, but this time I chose the FREE Budget Shipping and processing is really really slow. It takes a while for them to verify payment, then it will be "sent to warehouse" and it takes another 1-2 days before they will ship it out. When shipped, it's by USPS but tracking number was not available. :(
Overall:
Wouldn't go back there again "unless" price is way cheaper than others and I'm not in hurry to wait a week for shipping to same state."

"I yesterday evening ordered a shelf system and paid through paypal. The money was off my account immediately, but I received a message that they cancelled the order because the money was not received. So I paid and did not get anything in return. There is noone I can call so I have to wait until one or their support staff picks it up. This is the 2nd time they screw up things. Once I get this refunded or fulfilled I will never order from them again. The pain I have to go though every time is just too much."
