"Bought a FUJIFILM Finepix 3800 camera from them with a promised CNET 24 Hour Sale $30.00 rebate. Also they offered a $60.00 rebate from Fujifilm. They sent me the product, I submitted the rebate forms with the SKU number cut from the box and had $90.00 worth of rebates rejected because they sent me a product with a different SKU number. They were contacted several times, through their order department, sales department, customer service department and letters sent to the rebate centers to correct this problem. No response from any of them, totally ignored. This is the worst Internet company I have ever dealt with. "
"Wow, I had no idea this company's rating was this low. I ordered two RF converters to allow TV's with no A/V jacks to play DVD's. They sent me one. I was pretty upset when the invoice said two. I promptly e-mailed them telling them that I expect to recieve the other item in the next two business days. I later recieved an e-mail telling me I would get a RESPONSE in 5 to ten business days. Here I am 5 days later and nothing. What a poor way to run a business. I would never reccomend them unless you didn't care when you recieved your purchase."
"Terrible customer service.
I had to return a defective DVD/VCR combo. It arrived on 12/15 and was stuck in "Sent to Warehouse" ever since. This was despite their website constantly saying it was In Stock. Calls were not returned, I was given mostly mis-information, including that this was a discontinued item. The manufacturer confirmed that it was still being made. I eventually cancelled the order."
"BUY.com was a good company to do business until they started to give out your credit card and address information to another company.
BUY.com provide you an ad for $10 off future purchase after you submit your current purchase. A window popup and ask you to enter your email address. Innocently I entered my email address. On my next credit card statement, I notice a $7 charge by WLI Reservation Reward. I call my credit card issuer disputed the charge. They ask me to call WLI and provided me a phone number. I called this scam outfit and they said they'll refund the $7 charges and told me that I clicked on a link from BUY.com.
I will not trust BUY.com keeping my personal information safe any longer. They are part of this scam.
Entering an email address releases you credit card and personal information is not safe.

"It is extremely difficult to communicate with Buy.com -- especially after an order. There is no phone number nor any email address on their website. I recently ordered a camera and received a used one -- the camera showed wear and the contents were not even wrapped. Returns are difficult -- you must figure it out online and you must get an RMA. I am waiting on the Refund (to my credit card). I tracked the return and Buy.com received the returned camera over a week ago, but there has been no credit posted on my credit card account."
"Order was placed on a Monday early enough for them to ship it the same day (as noted by their sites comments). It was to be shipped in 1-2 business days if it wasn't shipped the same day. Emailed them Thursday asking why it hasn't even been shipped yet. Got a reply Friday stating that they are sorry and would ship it out that day. Got another email from them around closing time that same Friday stating that they still haven't shipped it and to cancel the order if I want."
"Got a Sandisk 1GB Compact Flash card for a great price... over $100 cheaper than in retail stores. Ordered it on April 21, got it April 26. The only problem was that the tracking number didn't work. But the important thing is that it got here."
"Ordered a DVD+R burner. Got it home and realized I had wanted the DVD+/-R they were also selling.
Buy.com wouldn't allow the exchange because the DVD+R was a "clearance" item. Now that I'm stuck with I want to mail in rebates, two of the rebates ask for the original UPC. In the process of emailing Buy.com to ask about this. Its been a week and no answer.
Very dissappointed that there is no contact phone number available."
"I was a loyal buy.com customer spending $1000+ a year until my last order. I ordered my iPod accessory in Oct and two months later I have nothing. After dozens of emails, they keep insisting "it will ship within a few days". They said this over and over and over. Now, with Christmas passed - it's one gift I couldn't give. That really sucked. I closed my BUY.COM account and will never purchase from them again. Even though they say it's in stock -- don't waste your time. You have been warned. I'm not surprised at their LOW rating on this website! Go figure!"
"I purchased an item from this company after having been a loyal customer since about 1997. There was an error with their ordering system, and the order showed as if it was going to be sent to the wrong place, so I tried to cancel the order before it shipped. This failed, even though the request was made before it shipped.
The only recourse I had was to use their email-based customer support (approximately 20 hours response time) as they no longer offer phone-based customer support as they have in the past.
I received a form email stating that they offer great flexibility in changing an address before an item ships, but will not do it after an item ships. I then sent an explanation that I wanted the item shipped to my billing address and that Fedex said that they will change the delivery location only if buy.com called them up and requested.
The response was pretty much the same, except it also mentioned that I might be able to call UPS up and request a change in the delivery location. They completely ignored my email to them! They seemed unwilling to deal with me as a customer, and as such, I will no longer give them my business anymore - regardless of the fact that I used to do business with them on a regular basis."
"Ordered a christmas gift on the 19th with the idea It PROBABLY would make it on time (2day shipping). Dec 23rd still showed it "in the warehouse", so I e-mailed them. Got a generic responce about them trying to fill orders for the holiday..blea..blea.... Dec 24th-Then I got a real reponce stating it was unavailable from the manufacurer, and the order has been cancelled. Thankx for nothing. I had to fight the malls to get it myself, and learned a lesson. You want something this close....dont order from buy.com....Im not sure about other times of the year."
"Ordered a Nomad Jukebox including batteries , docking station and a remote on December 2003.
Transferred on 7th of January the money by wire transfer.
Received all the good is good order except the remote valued $54.99.
After dozens of emails still no resolution and a year to date still no remote while they still advertise it on their website.
Had to buy a remote here in Australia for $AUD 168.30. Including the $US54.99 the damage is $AUD 259.95

"I was amazed when I found this site after ordering from a online site (Baysoft Games) and saw all the bad reviews, I bookmarked this page and planned on using from then on to check out a site before a purchase, well I got so used to much better service and no problems online compared to in a brick and mortar store that I was lax in my checking.
To make a long story short I like everybody else it seems was screwed by buy.com, ordered for christmas on the 5th and know the 26th and still no tracking information or any response to my email. Don't give buisness to a company that does not have any customer service period!
By the way I ordered from maybe a dozen sites and spent a lot of money online and did not have any other problems at all. There are too many choices to use this one."
"I've had pretty much the same experience as jbell the user below had. I ordered a 40gb Zen Xtra on 12/15, they listed them in stock and would ship in 1-2 days. I saw that orders before 12/17 could use their standard shipping and it would get there by 12/24. Well the order stayed in the "Sent to warehouse" state until 12/19, so I e-mailed their customer support asking if I would still recieve my order by Christmas, which I paid extra for. They gave me a generic response saying that my order had shipped, not answering my question. So after I saw that FedEx had an estimated delivery date as 12/29, I wrote their CS again asking them to overnight me a player so I'd get it by Christmas, which I had paid extra for in the first place (yeah right.) I sent that e-mail Monday morning, and I still haven't heard a word from them.
I bought this as a gift, and it's worthless to me after Christmas. Had I known that I'd get this horrible service after their false advertising job, no way would I have even considered ordering from them. Their straight out lie for service, combined with absolutely no customer support has made this by far my worst online buying experience EVER. They had better refund my purchase, AND the shipping I paid extra for, AND the return shipping. Ha, yeah right. Cowards don't even provide phone support, what do you think the chances of a full refund are?
Is there any action that can be taken? To me this is fairly blatant false advertising."
"HORRIBLE SERVICE WILL NEVER DEAL WITH AGAIN!!!!
Here is my Story, please BEWARE.
I order 3 items on 12/16/03 as Christmas gifts.
A DVD set, a GC game, and a DVD Writer.
My whole order qualifies for free shipping but I select and pay for regular UPS Ground Shipping as I had 2 days left to purchase via Ground for ensured XMas delivery.
Well all items were IN STOCK. After 2 days the DVD set gets shippied out. Then the GC game and the DVD Writer go from 'Sent To Warehouse" BACK to "Processing" I try to call them but they hav no number posted on their site..I finally get their number, call them, and get a recording stating that if I want to speak to a CS Rep I have to PAy $9.95!!! What kind of service is that?!?! So now I must resort to Email as I refuse to pay $10 to ask a CS a question.. the idea is crazy. I Email them only to get a generic response back from them that didn't even address my issue!! I ask for a phone call.. next day they write back saying they tried to call. I have caller ID and they did not try and call me.... and even IF they did what kind of Customer Service Rep would not leave a message?! I have to Email them 2-3 times in a row to get a non-generic response from them. They actually tried to say via a generic response that the items were not in stock... only for a 'real' response from a rep. to then tell me they have been in stock and don't know why they haven't shipped. I have to send out about a dozen Emails only to get offered a free shipping upgrade to 2-Day Air!! It is now 10PM 12/23/03 and the DVD Writer (the main part of my purchase) has not even been shipped!!! The GC game only went out today... I requested another phone call last night and still did not recieve one.... also I demanded a full shipping credit BECAUSE had I wanted to recieve these gifts AFTER X-Mas I would have chosen the FREE SHIPPING option that my whole order qualified for. I spend literally thousands a year online, mostly with Amazon.com, and I will NEVER spend a penny with Buy.com again. Amazon is a DREAM to deal with. You can call them, get in touch with a CS rep qucikly, and they always correct any order issues and even compensate you above and beyond. Buy.com is the exact opposite. I can not stress ENOUGH how dissatisfied I am with the company and the level of service I have recieved. I have dealt with small no name online companies many times and NEVER had a hard time like this one. Bottom Line: Because of THEIR error I won't have my items by XMAs and not only do I not recieve an apology, but I don't even recieve proper CS. forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes in this post but I am just really annoyed right now and typing a mile a minute here. Bottom Line: If you deal with Buy.com BEWARE. It's really not worth it.. their prices are not anything special... If you decide to go with an online retailer go with Amazon.com over Buy.com in a heartbeat... at the very least it won't cost you $10 to speak with a live person.
