"I placed my order on 02/09/03 around midnight. I recieved a confirmation e-mail within a couple of hours. The next e-mail I recieved was on 02/11/03, providing me with the tracking number. Tracking showed they had shipped the item out on 02/10/03. I received my item this morning 02/12/03, well packed and in excellent condition. The shipping was free and the handling charge of $2.95 was shown to me before finalizing the order, although it was shown in the final stages of placing the order. On the screen where you select the shipping method, the free shipping says allow 14-21 days, but I think this is a somewhat deceptive attempt at making you pay for a faster option. Overall I am very pleased and actually surprised my order arrived so quickly!"

I ordered late on 2/4/02 and the order arrived on 2/6/02 even though the free shipping detail said it might take 14-21 days. I don't know how on Earth it could possibly take any carrier 21 days to deliver something but I'm glad I didn't have to find out. I'm a happy camper. I got my camera, and extra flash memory just like I ordered. The packaging job was good with peanuts all around the merchandise but no peanuts on top of the merchandise. ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM Jan., 2003- I’ve had great experience, twice, with Buy.com in the last week.
I ordered a Sandisk 6 in 1 USB 2.0 reader that with a competitive price of $31, with a $10 rebate, that would make the reader price $21.
A couple of days later I ordered three Logitech Mouseman Traveler mouse (mice?) with an optical sensor for $24.99 and a final price, after rebate, of $1.89 each.
Both had free shipping.
Buy.com was considerate enough to email me the status of the orders so I knew within a day of when it would be delivered. They didn’t disappoint me.
The USB reader took only four days to reach me and the mice were even faster just taking two days.
Both packages were well packed. The mice package was particularly organized and well-separated from each other with a single foam divider to prevent the boxes from scuffing each other. I would have expected the mice to just be thrown in a box, labeled and shipped. Someone took their time in the packaging department.
I have bought from Buy.com a couple of time and have always gotten a good price, a fair deal, good service, no problems and fast shipping.

"I ordered a couple of DVD sets. Both were supposed to be ready within 24-48 hours. Both went into their normal process of "PROCESSING" then "SENT TO WAREHOUSE". After that 1 item shipped the other did not. I call their 800 number and everytime I choose to be serviced by a rep for already ordered items, the call disconnects. So naturally I choose to talk to a sales rep. After some stern demands from my side she greeted me professionally and she looked up my order number. She told me it should ship by the next day. They try to make money on customers with legit questions. SO then I chose to send them an email. After three emails they finally tell me that the item is backordered. Oh it has been 4 business days since my order, and I still do not have the 1 item that was supposed to be shipped and the other is still in processing even though on their website it shows "usually within 24-48 hours". I guess this is unusual. They were good in the past, but that whole charging for customer service thing will not have me coming back.
Maybe all this happened because I chose their free shipping option. That does state that it will be ready 14-21 days.
Also while your item is in processing your credit card has a "AUTHORIZED" for the item that hasn't shipped. What that means is that it does not show up on your credit card as a charged amount, but you no longer had that amount as available credit. For example... Your Credit Card Credit line is $1000. They authorize for $900 on a digital camera. Now you try to buy something that costs $500 at a different place. Your $500 charge will be REJECTED since you now exceeded your credit limit. Trust me AUTHORIZED is being charged.
Order elsewhere unless you have a lot of time on your hands. Then again if you're a gambler you may actually get your item the next day.
