"Ordered a Playstation 2 and memory card on Sunday which said it ships in 24 to 48 hours. Later that day, the status said, Processing. I clicked on this and find that there are three stages to an order, Processing, Sent to Warehouse, and Shipped. On Monday it said Sent to Warehouse, where it sat for 3 days. Wednesday, I sent a note to Customer Service. Thursday, I got an answer that said another item on the order was delayed, but the Playstation and card were shipped that day, and the status would be updated within 24 hours. (I don't know why a veteran EBusiness takes 12 hours to respond to email and 24 hours to update order status, but that's a different complaint.) Friday morning, I check the status and it says, the card was shipped and the Playstation is ... Processing. Five days and we're back to square one! I sent an email to customer service asking why something they said was shipped was being processed. That afternoon, I get an explanation of the order process and that sometimes it takes exta time to get credit card approval, or they might be waiting for my check to clear the bank. Check? On an Ebusiness site? I paid with an Amex card. In a brick and mortar store, 'Processing' takes about 30 seconds. So anyway, I'm 125 hours into my 24-48 and no further along than I was on day one - except for the incompetent and apathetic customer service. I won't be back. Amazon.com has problems, but nothing like this. "
"I ordered a video from Buy.com, SKU number 40114410 (Jawbreaker)on December 14th and paid extra for the 2nd day shipping. Today is December 20th and I still have not received my merchandise. I checked on line and it said that the status is "sent to the warehouse". I was also never sent a confirmation email yet. I don't know if they have charged my credit card or not. When calling up Buy.com, they inform you that you can send them an email and they will get back to you or if you want to speak to a live person that you have to pay $9.95 for them to take your call. I have never heard of any company doing this. This is the last time that I will ever deal with them. If it wasn't for the fact that Christmas is right around the corner I would just cancell the order. If I find it over the weekend I will."
"Received my merchandise within 3 days from my order date. Very happy with transaction. However I am glad I did not have to speak with customer service. I would be very upset if I had to pay $9.00 to do so. Since I am aware of this information I will be careful in the future. They need to change that policy if they want to stay in business."
"I made a mistake ordering a product from buy.com and needed to edit the shipping address. Finding this impossible once the order is placed, I called customer service only to find a $9.95 fee to speak with a human being.
After cancelling the order and calling the sales department, I explained to the rep that $9.95 is ridiculous and gave him a hypothetical situation where a problematic order causes a person to pay $9.95 for their mistake.
I do have to say that the rep was patient with me and admitted I was not the first person to complain about the fee. I did in fact order the product over the phone and it did arrive promptly.
If buy.com keeps this practice up, they will be out of business very quickly. Unsatisfactory business practices here."

"tried to order a phone from buy.com and waited the 4 days for the credit check to finish and was wondering why my order still had not shipped so tried to call and found out that you have to PAY $9.95 to speak with someone about your order or you can use the website for free. Well needless to say I tried to used the web site and it was all messed up, I couldnt log in, nothing was working properly so I finnally got an email to them to find out that my item had been put on backorder. So I called and went through a selection on the IVR that would not make me enter my credit card and talked to a rep and canceled my order. I cant believe an online retailer would make you pay to speak to a customer service rep to discuss your order. This is absolutly ridiculous, they must not want anyone to purchase from them."
"Buy.com is the 2nd best online vendor, after newegg. I have spent close to $3000 on computer hardware, DVDs, and CDs at buy.com since August of 2000, and I have never once had a problem with processing time, delivery time, or payment. they have good values on products, plenty of online rebates, and they have free shipping on many items. In fact, while they say that the free budget shipping takes 14-21 days to deliver, I've recieved DVDs just TWO days after the order was sent to warehouse. Now that's service! I highly recommend buy.com to anyone interested in a smooth online shopping experience. "

Thank you ever so much for not responding to my latest email. Your automated response message said you would be in contact with me in 12 hours. It has been 4 days now. Once again proving your poor customer service. I want this email forwarded to a manager immediately. If I do not receive an email from a manager in a timely fashion I will never buy another item from Buy.com again and I will tell every person that I come in contact with about your poor customer service. I hope you do not treat all of your customers like this.

I must tell you that this order has been one of the worst customer service incidents in my life. It took you 5 days to process my order, then when I check on my order status Friday it said my order was still in shipping, Sunday when I looked even further it said my order was back ordered and you had no clue when it would be in stock, so I cancelled the order. I then ordered another set of speakers from another site whose price was lower anyways. Now I just got an email saying the item was shipped on the 27th. Plus, the link to track the order is not working. Do you have any clue what is going on?
The item was shipped before their website said my order was even on backorder. I don't know how it could be backordered if it has already been shipped.
I finally got a canned response back from buy.com, but it only stated that I could return the item. I did finally get the item, but with the headaches I had to go through it wasn't worth the cost savings at all."
"This company indicated the product i wanted was in stock. It took them several days to e-mail me and let me know they were having trouble locating it, not very honest, apprently they carry no inventory but locate things you wish to buy. I tried calling to get an ideal when I would recieve the back order and found out that if you wish to talk to customer service you have to first give a valid credit card number and PAY ! I have never done business with a company that charges you when you want to inquire about an order status. My expreience with this company was dreadful, they are not honest about their inventory and will not provide any customer service, watch out !"

"Purchased AT&T phone plans through Buy.com. Great prices and products - especially liked that they were fronting most of the rebates vs having to send in. Picked up V60i phone ($200 retail) with $150 instant type rebates and one $50 rebate after 30 day service. Much better than amazon where was $220 with $219 in mail-in rebates.
There was some delay in getting the phones. I got an e-mail saying they were backordered & I exchanged 3 or 4 e-mails with Customer service asking why they were selling phones on site stating 24-48 hour shipping while telling me they were backordered. Never did get that resolved but phones arrived a couple days later.
Also order Camcorder from them. Overall, my experience with buy.com has been very good. Even the phone stuff wasn't bad because I would get prompt replies from a real person.
Also, they did not charge card until items were shipped. Buy.com learned alot from their early days of charge now - ship never :)"
