I ordered a Canon 430EX ii flash at a very good price. Well below Canon list price. However, the order was never fullfilled. Payment was made via paypal to buy.com the same day the order was placed. After 5 business days the order was still being"processed". I sent an e mail to the buy.com marketplace seller "digitalfotoclub.com" requesting an update. There was no response so I sent a message to buy.com who eventually responded to say that they had contacted digitalfotoclub.com requesting they address my concern. No response was received after waiting another business day. I finally contacted digitalfotoclub,com via their customer service number and was told the product was backordered and they wanted to cancel my order. I talked to a supervisor who offered a $10 buy.com voucher by way of an apology. This is not what I wanted, I simply wanted the product I had ordered and paid for and was willing to wait. They cancelled it anyway.
I am presently hoping they will eventually provide a 100% refund! They can forget the $10 voucher, I will never place an order with buy.com again.
I suspect the digitalfotoclub.com pricing was possibly just a mistake and they made excuses to cancel the order rather than simply telling me it was a pricing error.
Whatever their motive was, it cost me over a week of waiting to find out that my order would be cancelled and they have held onto my money for over a week so far.

I was contacted via e mail late in the day 04-13-10 by a representative from buy.com who was anxious to resolve my issue with the cancelled order. He offered to make it up to me by arranging to re-order the item at the same low price originally offered by digtalfotoclub.com. I was impressed that buy.com responded so fast and with an offer to correct the problem at significant cost to themselves.
They followed through with the offer by issuing a gift certificate to cover the additional cost to purchase the item from a different marketplace seller. I have since placed the order with adorama,com via buy.com and expect this to resolve the issue entirely. Barring any unexpected problem, I should receive the item in a few days.
Given these new circumstances, I will certainly consider buy.com for purchases in the future.
Final update 04-20-10.
The item arrived today as expected and is a brand new unit! Many thanks Buy.com, you came through and saved the day. This was all handled in a cordial and professional manner."

"I've been shopping with buy.com since... well, probably since they first opened. I've always been happy with them, shop there a lot, sent other people to them... probably not anymore. I can't give them a super low rating because of one bad experience, but this one was bad.
I ordered an air conditioner that showed up damaged. They scheduled a pickup and didn't tell me when it was - the only way I knew was UPS left a note on my door. The replacement took almost 3 weeks to show up. That one was damaged worse than the first. Offered to keep it if it actually worked if they would give me an extended warranty or partial refund. Was offered $75 partial refund but declined - that wasn't enough for me to risk it dying in a year. They did send the third unit out as soon as they got confirmation that one was on it's way back, so I'll give them credit for that. The THIRD unit (I've had to wait at home for UPS for all of these drop offs/pick-ups) finally showed up this week... and it was a microwave oven. Just had them cancel the order - found it for $50 less and free shipping at amazon anyway. Asked for a full refund plus the 2 months of interest :D Figured they wouldn't, but it was worth a shot. Got another generic 'sorry for the inconvenience' email and that was it. 2 months, tons of wasted time, 3 attempts at making it right and the customer service just seemed lacking sincerity. I don't think I'll be shopping there anymore."
"I ordered a Pair of Klipsch speakers from this webstore, and only received 1 speaker. When I called, they tried the bait and switch tactic stating the price was only for 1 speaker. The listing and all emails I received show I ordered the pair. When I contacted them, they just wanted to pick up the speaker and issue a refund, but I wanted the other speaker or half of my money back since I only got half of what I ordered and paid for. I will never do business again with them, and plan on making quite a few reviews so that others can be aware of things like this. The seller through them was One Call. "
"After I added an item in my cart and saw it there for $10 and free shipping, as I reviewed my order 15 seconds later, the price had changed to $40 and $5 shipping. When I questioned it and wrote several e-mails, they ignored me until I told them I filed a complaint at Consumer Affairs Despite dozens of orders and over $1000 spent here, I just can't trust them anymore.

"When Buy.com is good, they're really good. When they're bad, they are really bad. I've been chasing RitzCamera for 3 months now over an order dispute and it turns out that Buy.com may have been a big part of the problem. It is Buy.com policy that if there is a problem with your order, take it up with the 3rd party that Buy.com chose to do business with. Unfortunately the man in the middle screws refunds up as RitzCamera couldn't refund the money they owed me. They refund Buy.com and then I have to hope Buy.com has their act together. (it seems they didn't this time.) Also, around July of last year, Buy.com was one of the commercial sites there were news stories on about being linked with "controversial marketers". You can search for this story and read for yourself. Then they told me that "All personal information is kept confidential." But their privacy policy states "We may also share your personally identifiable information with third parties who provide services to us, our customers and web site visitors." I wouldn't say Buy.com is evil, just be cautious. Though they didn't help resolve the problem, they did attempt to make up for it by issuing me a gift certificate and asking for forgiveness."
"I assumed since buy.com is a partner of amazon.com, whom I normally shop with, that their customer service/shopping experience would be similar. I couldn't have been more wrong. I placed order for a shootsac camera lens bag with an interchangeable cover for $99.00. When my order arrived several days later, it was the wrong item. They had shipped me a shootsac laptop bag. The company that fulfilled the order, Adorama.com's invoice that I received in the package stated that I ordered the laptop bag. I double checked my buy.com order and confirmed that I had indeed ordered the camera bag. I called Adorama and was informed that I would have to ship the item back and place another order. They also said that the camera bag and particular cover I had ordered was no longer carried by them. They carried the same bag, just different colors of the interchangeable cover. For $100.00 more than I had paid. I called buy.com and explained the situation, and they started an "investigation" and assured me that the problem would be solved. I wanted them to honor the price that they had advertised and ship me the same bag, just different interchangeable cover. I told them I didn't care which cover it was, I just wanted the bag. Three days later, I finally get my resolution email, explaining I could the return the wrong item, and place a new order. They had not listened to a word I had said. I contacted buy.com several times over the next few days, to try to get them to honor the price that they sold me the item. I think this is only fair. You should not sell something that does not exist in the first place. False advertisement. The only thing they finally did was send me a $40.00 gift certificate for my next order. This would still mean that if I ordered the same bag, just with a different color cover, that I would have to pay about $160.00 instead of the $99.00 they originally sold me the item for. This is the most ridiculous thing I have every dealt with, out of all of my online shopping experiences. I will no longer be purchasing anything from them or their sister company, Amazon.com. I refuse to give my money to them. In my opinion, your business is only as good as your customer service, and this was the most frustrating, horrible customer service I have every received. Honor your price, and the merchandise you sell, that's the bottom line. I should have read their reviews first!
UPDATE: Buy.com contacted me to ask what item I had requested to replace the non-existent item that they sold me, that maybe they could make an exception this time. I responded with the SKU number, and conveniently, they do not sell this item anymore, so they can't sell it to me. I reminded AGAIN that I had received a $40 gift certificate for my trouble. Forty dollars doesn't even begin to compensate my time and headache from dealing with this inadequate company. They made a mistake, so they should fix it, and honor their price. Don't believe a word this company says about "Customer Service is our #1 priority." Apparently, from reading other reviews, this company often tries these bait and switch tactics. DO NOT give them your money, I know I never will."
"Buy.com falsely advertises. Product was advertised as a 128GB SSD they sent me a 32 GB SSD drive and after talking with customer service they said it was an advertising mistake and offered only a return, I requested that they honor their advertisement and they declined to do so, come on BUY.COM you need to man-up and fix your errors!!!! I am returning the 2 drives and request that you send me the 128 GB SSD's that I initially ordered. Come on Buy.com you made the mistake you fix it and I will tell everyone tht you are an outstanding seller.

So according to your own admission you made a mistake and did not send what I ordered. How can I order the same item again when it is no longer available at that special price?? Since the mistake was admittedly yours why dont you take the initiative and correct the order yourself .You are obviously able to since you went in and modified my return request without any problems at all.

"I ordered New Ipod touch 32 GB from Buy.com via Amazon Checkout. But instead of shipping me the New Unit, they shipped me the Refurbished Unit. They realized that themselves and sent me an email the very next day. Even before the refurbished unit reached me, they instructed Fedex to send it back, and now it is back with Buy.com as per tracking information. I was quite impressed till here.
But than, when I called customer support to find out about my New Unit shipment, I was very disappointed. They know nothing. They don't know if its already shipped or not, or when it'll be shipped. And to provide the information they need 24-48 hours. Forget the actual shipment, getting information itself is a 2 days job. Now I have no information about my order and 7 days have already passed. Pathetic Customer Support."
