"I ordered two items (A mouse, and a Belkin Router), from Buy.com they both arrived and I opened the mouse immediately as it was for myself. However, I did not open the Router as it was a gift for a family member. Today, 19 days since the item arrived, and 23 days since the item was shipped, we gave the item as a gift and went to help them set it up and it was DOA out of the box. The router won't even power on. So I went on their site to find a service number (good luck), and then I resorted to emailing their customer service to explain my situation, and ask for a simple exchange for a working version of the same item. I was told that since the time since the SHIPPING date was greater than 14 days they couldn't help me period. So basically regardless of how long it takes the item to get to you, you have 14 days from the day they say he item shipped, to open the item, test it, and complete the return request if something is wrong with it. So buying any gift that isn't going to be given immediately is pointless. Suffice to say this will be my last purchase from Buy.com."
"Whenever I make an online purchase (electronics, entertainment and computer related products in particular), I ALWAYS start with Buy.com. I've been buying from them for years and even opened up a credit card account with them solely to make purchases from them. I have experienced excellent customer service with regard to my purchases and am exceptionally satisfied with the products, shipping time and costs as well as my ability to find what I'm looking for. They don't always win my purchase, but I ALWAYS give them the first opportunity to do so, because they are THE BEST!"
"Buy.com OEM =Used/Rrefurbished!!! Buy.com OEM itmes are used and refurbished. The item I received was 100% used and it had a "Recondition" white sticker on it but not specified in the advertisement. I returned it and they charge me for return shipping."
"I bought an xbox 360 controller which arrived in a flimsy envelope with no cushion whatsoever. Needless to say the plastic packaging on the controller was damaged and even exposed both bottom sides of the controller with visible scuff marks. I immediately asked for a replacement which took more than a month fulfill and when I finally received my replacement, I discovered it was the same controller (again in a poorly packaged envelope) with even more damage on the plastic due to packaging. I had purchased this as a gift to a friend but the condition of the controller makes it unacceptable to give.

"After selecting an item to buy, and that item being advertised as "free shipping" I proceed to the checkout page. On this page is a PRE-SELECTED shiping option saying "Standard shipping, It IS PRE-SELECTED for an item advertised as FREE shipping. I do not select any other box since none of them has free shipping as part of the option. MY item is shipped before I get my order notice via e-mail. Since it has already shipped I cannot challenge the shipping charges which are now billed to me. If I were in law enforcement, I would label this "BAIT AND SWITCH" Be very carefull of this trap if using Buy.com. NOW I see why Buy.Com refuses to respond to these reports. Take care and don't be mis-led."

I get a notice of collections for a DVD I bought and paid for over a year ago! I printed the paid receipt off of their website and sent it by registered mail to the collection agency with a copy to my lawyer. Haven't heard anything for a couple of months.
So, be warned, if you buy ANYTHING from Buy.com, keep your receipts and don't be shocked if you get a bill years later for an iten you bought and paid for.

"Be aware that the "Free Shipping" delivery method has been downgraded for most deliveries. The current shipping method used by Buy.com is now called "SmartPost". Your purchase will be picked up by FedEx from Buy.com's warehouse and transported to a regional depot where it then waits for a handed-off to USPS for final delivery. The result of this cut-rate delivery method is that by Buy.com's and FedEx's admission, a minimum of 5 days is added to the delivery time. In other words, if FedEx were to handle the entire delivery, it would arrive a minimum of 5 days sooner.
If a predictable delivery time is important, you would be wise to shop elsewhere, or pay for the delivery that you used to get for "Free". As is, Buy.com's "SmartPost" shipping method is not the bargain it may seem...as far as we consumers are concerned."
"This was my first time to purchase something from www.buy.com and it was a terrible experience. Maybe I am spoiled b/c most vendors I've dealt with ship products instantly and these guys are a joke. A week goes by and nothing. No updates or anything. 2 weeks and nothing??? I can't stand companies that waste time b/c I have little to waste. In this horrible economy you would think that they would try to pick up new customers and hope for return business. I will never shop from www.buy.com again. If you can't ship it don't sell it!"
"I ordered a relatively expensive item, the Z-5500 logitech speaker system from them at a comparable price to amazon. It included a $40 rebate which I still managed to get eventually even though the rebate company declared bankruptcy. My order shipped in one business day after I placed it and reached me in two businesses days which really impressed me since it had to go across the country! Not bad for the free shipping option. All in all I was very impressed and the box was delivered in decent enough shape. Speakers seem to still be fine and I was impressed with buy.com's shipping speed."
"I'm always surprised to see so many negative reviews of Buy.com. I shop here at least 6 times a year and have never had a bad experience. My latest order was for a label maker, which I ordered on a Tuesday and received by that same Friday. Granted, shipping is usually not that fast when I shop there (it is typically 1 to 1.5 weeks for me) - but I always get my products in a reasonable amount of time.
I've never called or contacted their customer service department, because I've never needed to, so I don't know if they have problems in that department or issues with honoring refunds/exchanges. However, in terms of pricing and order fulfillment, I've been more than happy."
"Totally disappointed with their customer service. Got a 24" LCD from them with too many dead pixels on top right. So, asked for replacement. After 1 month, they told me there is no replacement available, they would refund me the money in 5-10 days. It's bad, but still acceptable, hot items always run out of inv fast, so I brought from other resellers. After 15 days, Buy.com sent me a email "your replacement is on the way, Tracking XXXXX". After talked with their Customer Service again, they told me I could just refused the shipment, so I just refused the package. And it is not the end of the nightmare, they re-shipped the package back to me on 2/10 when they received it. I told them again and got the same reply, I could just easily refused the package...What's wrong with them? If I refused the package will they keep re-sending to me? They finally transfer the package to some other place after my complain. But until now, I still not get my money back. Totally cost more than 2 months and got nothing only trouble from Buy.com.
May be their price is attractive, but pls think about their awful customer service before you buy from them."

"Ordered a Lexmark photo printer which was $8.99 after rebate and Google checkout. Price looked too good to be true, and that was exactly the case. Printer was DOA. Notified Buy.com via email; they indicated they usually reply about returns within 10 hours, but it may take up to 2 days. After hearing nothing after 10 days, I emailed them back asking why they showed no interest in helping me. They replied that I needed to contact the manufacturer about an RMA, not Buy.com. Due to their policy of apathy toward customer problems, I no longer do business there and got stuck with a $8.99 ugly plastic paper weight. Could have been worse: At least I wasn't fleeced for a lot of money - the lesson was not too expensive."
